 + 0 moreIt went smoothly. They came prepared. They didn't have to go back and forth to retrieve forgotten items. The description above tells much of what they accomplished for me in a day. The guys were congenial and at one point one of the toilets I had chosen wouldn't fit in the guest bath. It was the way the bathroom was built and it would have been costly to pull the glued shelving away from the wall as it would have damaged it. We talked it over and I felt that I could get along with the one high toilet in my private bath. So the old toilet , which was adequate was put back and my total bill was adjusted to reflect that change. In fact I think that Curt gave me a little on labor as it seemed to me I should have paid more, but he said he was giving me an honest charge. When it was time for the guys to leave they cleaned up after themselves and it was cleaner than when they arrived as I had just moved in and hadn't been cleaning until all construction was done. Now I think any outfit that leaves your home or garden cleaner than when they arrived is outstanding in excellence. I just am so satisfied with the new things in this home it is beginning to feel like a home rather than a fixer.
Description of Work: Curt, the owner of Harold's Plumbing just bent over backwards to find me good bargains and just the right items I needed to make my house better for me as I am partially disabled. He and his men fitted the house with an all-house water filter that needed the drywall in my pantry to be reconfigured for the piping and filter. They did a beautiful job and also put in a water pressure valve decreed by our water company. You cannot tell that they were there except for the new fixtures in place. They installed a new sink, faucet and plumbing including a garbage disposal. They old was compromised and unhygenic. The even hooked up a new diswasher delivered by another company. They installed a ADA approved toilet and shower accessories with grab bars everywhere. They took down the dangerous old glass enclosure and put up a shower curtain rod. They filled in the previous holes so that it looks as if it had always been that way. The did minor repairs to bathroom sinks and drains. It was a big and varied job. I changed my plans and they just made it easy for me to get what I needed. Curt sent me to some websites so that I could shop at home and get exactly what I desired. It was a great experience and actually was in the median price range that I expected. I not only would use them again, but am telling everyone I know what a great family owned company this is. Honest and straightforward. Easy to work with. Very very happy.

 + 1 moreThey did the work 3 years ago. They are very good. It's a home owned store and they have been in business for a long time. There was nothing I didn't like about them. I really did like them. They were on the ball. The person that came out was very personable. He got right to the job. He put down tarps so he didn't drag anything in and out. Their punctuality and professionalism were very good.
Description of Work: Harold's Plumbing made our bathroom into an ADA bathroom. They basically took out the bathtub and put in a big shower. There was some wall work included to make it fit.

 + -1 moreBrent thought there might be something clogging up the "trap" part of the toilet so that when we flushed it, the flow wasn't very strong. He used his own auger. After he was done, he said the toilet flow seemed to be stronger. Since then, we haven't had any clogs, so what he did must have worked.
Description of Work: For several months, our toilet kept clogging. We would plunge it and it would work for awhile, but then would clog again easily. After our own attempts using an auger, the toilet still wouldn't work properly. So, I called a plumber. Brent from Harold's Plumbing came out and used his own auger to get the toilet to flow properly.

 + -1 moreBrent arrived one hour late, which is probably understandable since it was a 2 pm appointment. He got right on the job and had the work completed efficiently, as well as the outdoor faucet. I was impressed with the work and Brent, but given the simplicity of the tasks, I may search the area for another company for similar future work. That is due to their $100/hour rate, that includes travel time from and back to the plumbing office.
Description of Work: One residential toilet was resealed and reset. Also, one external faucet was replaced.

 + -1 moreBrent arrived precisely at the agreed upon time and wasted no time in attempting to locate the source of the leak. He was neat and picked up both waste material and tools. I probably could have eventually figured out where the leak was, but he made the job far more efficient. He minimized the amount of damage necessary to the drywall to gain access to the plumbing, and repair of the drywall is not within the scope of what he was hired to do. I'll take care of this myself or use the list to find someone else to fix the drywall.
Description of Work: Brent Sherman helped us locate a leak in the shower in our master bath that had gone through the subflooring and through the ceiling in the kitchen below. He systematically ruled out leaks in supply and drain plumbing by making access holes to view the plumbing. Once we determined the leak was not from the plumbing, he spent a fair amount of time attempting to locate the source of the leak in the shower stall, evaluating shower pan, and all joints in the shower enclosure. The source of the leak was found to be a flaw in a seal in a glass panel, and was not an "easy" leak to find.

 + -1 moreBrian was excellent. I called on Friday night and they had Brian out there by 3:00 (last appointment of the day since I needed to work in the morning). Very nice person and very professional. Would not hesitate to call company again.
Description of Work: 1) Brian, plumber, was asked to figure out why both toilets were leaking. First one after he laid it on its side found that it had cracked underneath the second toilet, the ring was not put on properly and had damaged the entire floor - it was sagging. He moved the toilet to the other bathroom and made it operational and then put a plug in the toilet hole until I could get a new toilet. He also took with him the cracked toilet and all of his mess. In addition, there was water coming from the vent where the outside hose nozzle was hooked to. He looked under the house but needed to put a hole in the wall to determine if the pipe had cracked - which it did not.

Description of Work: Toilet was making a racket & a previous plumber told me it was air in the lines, probably from a broken water pipe in the ground? Brent said it was a washer & he replaced it. He also removed some old pipes in the garage so I could finish insulating & plasterboard.

 + -1 moreI felt that the work done was reasonably priced. Labor was $96 an hour. The plumber arrived on time, and was polite and friendly. He did not waste time, worked quickly and efficiently. He had to cut a hole in my ceiling to replace the drain, but he replaced the piece cut out by screwing it back in place. This made it easier for me to repair the ceiling after he was through. He went under the crawl space to replace the hose bibb. He made sure to discuss with me the work he was going to do before he did it. His office gave me an estimate on the phone before he came out, so I had an idea of how much I would need to pay.
Description of Work: The drain was loose in my upstairs shower stall, causing water to leak from the drain through to the ceiling below in my dining room. I also had a leak in the exterior faucet in front of my house. No matter how hard I tried to turn it, I could not get the faucet to shut off completely. The leaking drain was replaced with a new one, and the hose bibb was replaced.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreI felt that in each case, the response was prompt, polite and reasonably priced. In one instance, the plumber arrived hours later than we expected because of a delay at another job. However, that was not an inconvenience.
Description of Work: I used Harold's Plumbing twice. Once to repair two broken outdoor faucets and once to repair a hot water heater in my barn, which was not working. One of the repairs was slightly over $100. The other was $143. I believe $143 was the hot water heater.

 + -1 moreWE CALLED ON THE FIRST BIG SNOW DAY OF THE YEAR. MY HUSBAND IS CONVALESCING FROM AN ILLNESS AND WE NEEDED THE USE OF THAT BATHROOM. IN SPITE OF BEING SHORT-HANDED THEY ARRANGED TO GET BRENT OUT TO OUR HOUSE WITHIN AN HOUR. HE WAS VERY POLITE, PROFESSIONAL, AND REASONABLY PRICED AND TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM QUICKLY AND COMPLETELY.  + -1 moreTHE PLUMBER CALLED @ 8:00 (THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME) A.M. TO SAY THAT HE WAS ''ON HIS WAY'' AND APPEARED AT 8:25. HE DIDN'T INTRODUCE HIMSELF, HAD BODY ODER, LEFT SOLDER ON MY FLOOR, AND DROVE HIS VAN ON MY YARD WITHOUT ASKING (IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE IF HE HAD ASKED). ON THE UP SIDE, I HAVE A NEW WATER HEATER. I THINK THE QUALITY OF WORK IS FINE, BUT THE PLUMBER WAS NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL.
