I can't say enough good things about our experience with Sunshine contracting. From the quality of their products to the professionalism and competence of their crews, it was a pleasure to work with them.

Scott came to the house and measured the door/windows, provided a rendering of the door/windows and the cost. I had to get HOA approval and once that was done, an order was placed. As soon as the order came in, a date was scheduled for installation. The crew showed up as scheduled and installed the door/windows. They are beautiful!

Sunshine Contracting Corp @SunshineConCorp, specifically Matt Knez and Chris Posselh were personally responsible for a significant portion of our house being destroyed. Sunshine Contracting Corp's roofing replacement was grossly negligent and their inability to handle the weather event was project management incompetence. We haven't had any communication from Sunshine other than to collect for their fraudulent roofing project. They added $4000 worth of additional services on to our initial contract that we did not approve and that should not have been necessary. On June 19, 2018, a crew from Sunshine Contracting arrived at our house at approximately 7:30am to replace our roof. A heavy thunderstorm was predicted for that afternoon. At approximately 3pm, the thunderstorm occurred, but the crew failed to take adequate precautions to protect our home. A substantial amount of rain poured into our home and caused extensive house and property damage (approximately 30% of the house was damaged). Soon after the new roof was installed, we experienced water leaks. Sunshine Contracting last worked on the water leaks in the roof at our home in August 2018. These repairs failed and the leaks continued. We then had to hire a different roofing company to correct Sunshine's installation mistakes and properly flash the roof around the skylights and the sunroom addition. These repairs cost us an additional $4,500. It took 23 months to repair the damage and rebuild our home. The reconstruction costs were $110,000, of which $20,000 was not covered by insurance so we had to pay this out of pocket. In addition, $44,000 in furniture was destroyed. This process was extremely disruptive to our lives and jobs. We lost more than 60 days of work to be present to deal with contractors, and significantly more time was spent managing the reconstruction and insurance company issues. At one point, we had to be relocated for four nights. We have not attempted to estimate a dollar amount for the stress we endured from all of this, but we could try to do so if that would be useful. We are now gathering other homeowners in our neighborhood and other communities in Northern Virginia to file law suits against Sunshine Contracting Corp. for gross negligence and failure to install new roofing to meet industry standards. If you are considering doing business with this company, we would strongly recommend that you would find anyone else to do the work.

From the first meeting we were very impressed with the Sunshine team. They were very helpful with suggestions of improving the overall look of our home. Everything was done as requested and our house never looked better. They have fantastic communication and the process was low stress. We would highly recommend Sunshine- even our neighbors used them!

Sunshine has also done my siding/trim, deck, and gutters. I highly recommend them for all your house exterior projects. I give them an A-plus.

Outstanding. Looking for high quality siding/Hardie Board, roofing, windows, I highly recommend Sunshine Contracting. About a month ago they finished putting Hardie Board on our Tudor-style home to replace rotting wood and stucco and did a fabulous job at a very fair price (we checked others). The crew was fantastic. Hard working, considerate, friendly, respectful – and talented. I was amazed by their skilled precision and dedication to doing the job right. Nate, the supervisor, kept progress moving efficiently. The crew leader, Ken, knew his stuff and is well-spoken. The house looks beautiful and the Sunshine team ensured everything was cleaned up, put back in order, even preserved gutters. Ryan, the owner, took extra measures to ensure we got the custom colors and other features we wanted. The team was exceptionally respectful of our having to work at home, observed proper social distancing, and scheduled work in stages to be far less disruptive than we thought it would be. We were dreading this job, but the experience with Sunshine put a smile on our faces.

We cannot begin to describe how happy we are with both projects. Done on time, everything cleaned up after neat as a pin and true craftsmen quality of work in every regard. These guys are really superb.

The job was done very well. The initial meeting with Scott the project consultant was very helpful. He answered my questions thoroughly and was always available for any follow-up questions I had. The project manager, Cathy, was equally helpful and available. The installers came when scheduled and did a wonderful job and cleaned up afterwards. Everyone was very professional and courteous.

I already left one review for siding work Sunshine did for me. However, I also had them replace some windows for me and they did an excellent job. The company efficiently converted four old windows into two. The process was quick and easy from estimate to install. The installers went above and beyond in the quality of the installation. I am extremely pleased with how the project came out and I would hire again.

SUNSHINE WAS PERFECTION AT ITS BEST! Sunshine was 1 of 4 companies we considered for our house siding/gutter remodel project in the area. They were recommended directly from the James Hardie website given our location in Northern Virginia and their performance as a Hardie certified installer. From the get-go, Scott was the most thorough, knowledgeable and attentive rep to our needs of anyone we had met with prior. Immediately after meeting with him, we knew they were the company to go with. Bonus - their quote on the project was well below the competition by thousands of dollars, solidifying the quality choice in companies not trying to price-hike in an already ridiculously priced area. After having a gas-line moved in preparation for the siding project and discovering a horribly installed 4-set of windows with lack of framing (plus rotted wood), we reached out to Sunshine again for a last-min addition of a window replacement to complement our upcoming siding project. The entire Sunshine team worked to expedite the window order and fit that project within the project schedule. Additionally, Scott made an amazing recommendation for trench work of a French drain (flawless as well by Rito Torres), and adjust the overall schedule around our already tasked electrician to route wires midway through the siding project. Words can’t put to justice the amount of attention to detail and craftsmanship the team presented throughout the entire project. The smallest of details were all perfectly covered, from replacing and filling in wood gaps/wall repair on the 50-year old home, removing hidden windows from previous botched siding attempts of past owners, reinforcing needed areas, custom cutting aluminum drip edges to match every curvature of the home top to bottom, to hand-crafting exhaust vents in color-matched aluminum…Sunshine exceeded every aspect and expectation we had for this project. No detail or ask went uncovered with their team, and we are so excited to have used them for our project! Quality workmanship was equally matched with a highly professional, responsive and friendly crew. This is the type of company you dream about when you look at a massive siding project that uses James Hardie, truly worth every penny spent! Our family is already looking forward to the next project with Sunshine…doors and windows!!! An absolute must consideration for any window, door, siding, gutter, roofing project! Sunshine replaced the roof at my home in Burke. They did a very good job. The Salesman, the Project Manger and the crews were all knowledgeable, trust worthy and were willing to answer any questions my wife and I had. I would recommend Sunshine to my friends and family.

Sunshine did a great job! We had only two minor issues, which they addressed completely to our satisfaction. Ryan, the Owner, and Nate, the Ops manager, were great to work with. We would definitely recommend them and would use them again.

Everything went well. The work had to be split into 2 jobs because the new front door had to be ordered. Gutters were installed first and there have been no problems. Front door was recently installed and looks great. Total time for both jobs was about 7 hours. It was easy to schedule the work for times that were convenient for us. Both crews that did the work were professional, answered our questions, and cleaned up the work areas after completion. There weren't any hidden or surprise charges, we paid what was quoted to us.

Sunshine Contracting was a very pleasant experience. Not only was their price the best of three quotes, there workmanship and attention to detail was impressive. I had the whole house redone with James Hardie siding to include the facia boards and soffits, as well as new gutters. They cleaned up every night and arrived on time and stayed almost ten hours each day. The project took three days. Nate, the main point of contact was very helpful and easy to contact. I would highly recommend them for any siding or gutter job.

All teams were very responsive. However, the siding team stood out as stellar. Having said that, it was the most time spent with one team which was about 1.5 weeks. Initially, the siding keep getting delayed due to rain but once we got started it went off without a hitch. Fantastic job, great responsiveness, always informed. I would definitely hire this company again for any of these needs.

Worst. Experience. Ever. Experience similar to other “F ratings” on Angie’s list. They use subcontractors. Overall experience was sloppy, erratic, inconsistent with poor followup and follow-through, they have extremely poor customer service, poor professionalism, and poor work ethic. They arrived unprepared to do the work, and they need supervision. Originally we called the number on the website and an operator had a contractor who is NOT on their website contact me. We met and, against our better judgement, we signed that day for a new roof and even referred him to family and friends. If you are not doing a whole new roof replacement this contractor is not interested in you and he never got back to the other referrals. We agreed on a date for a new roof and he pushed it up by phone to an earlier date in spite of us not needing to have this work done urgently. He disappeared before he could complete the final inspection we had stipulated in the contract. The case gets turned over to their claims department and various agents contact you or say they do for the rest of this debacle. They don’t care about your concerns but just want to get paid. Throughout the next months contractors arrive without notifying you, perform part of the work you didn’t know was done (until months later when they are able to produce photos), and then disappear for another few months only to reappear again without having followed through on previous concerns. New leaks appear in the ceiling and they deny that the photos show leaks. They refuse to provide anything in writing and aren’t able to produce the photos taken from any of their interior inspections. Against the advice of others, concern for new leaks, and while trying to schedule an inspection by another roofing company, final payment was provided to them. We hope that the “ten year warranty” they claim is good and will account for their workmanship. We truly wish we could have had the “A” rated team for our new roof. Hopefully the owner of this “family owned business” will reassess who is actually in his family. Caveat emptor.

Sunshine Contracting was amazing. They responded to my inquiry within hours, scheduled a visit for an estimate within two days, provided great advice on our options, and the work was completed in just two days. I highly recommend them. Their team was fantastic.
