Great Job Moving and Storage

This review is a couple of weeks overdue. The three men who came out to move were very professional. They were a bit delayed, however, due to a previous move that morning that took much longer than anticipated. They arrived in the evening to do my moving, which left me quite hesitant as to potential performance due to the large move, containing many heavy and fragile items. If I'd used previous movers (and I've used many), that would be a concern. The G&J men were extremely strong and extraordinarily nimble. They wrapped fragile items with great care. And they worked swiftly and with great agility. Even when we finished at 10pm, I was completely exhausted, and they looked like they could have gone for another 16hrs. Amazing. I was pleasantly surprised, and extremely pleased with their performance. Aside from that, the men were very kind and easy to work with. (And oh so good looking. That isn't a criteria.) Still, they're reliable, friendly, professional, and they took extraordinarily good care of my precious items. Exemplary and exceptional. I can't say enough great things about them. I'm using them again for my next move.

I bought the coupon on Angie's list. Everything went like clockwork. G & J contacted me several times so we could be sure of the timing, the number of men needed, the time needed, and the logistics of running between the two addresses. The team arrived on time, was very friendly and professional and got the job done in the 3 hour time frame of my coupon. The three men worked together in a very efficient manner. I was impressed with how well they wrapped and protected all of the furniture. I guess I just expected them to toss the sofas on the truck. The sofas are leather, and they wrapped each one in blankets and shrink wrap. They even wrapped each small table in the moving blankets and taped them together. I highly recommend this company.

Adequate service but beware of up hidden charges. They showed up in the expected time block, but things got off to a rocky start when apparently it was my fault that there wasn't adequate parking for them in front of my apartment and they had to park about 7 or 8 parking spaces down. They then did a quick survey and started wrapping items up in furniture pads. They wanted $3 for each roll of tape they had to use (tiny rolls that they probably get for 50 cents each) and used a roll per piece of furniture. Fortunately, I came prepared with my own tape so I could avoid that $50 upcharge. They also wanted $8 to saran-wrap each of the mattress and bed springs, again I had my own bags to prevent that charge as well. Two big issues: 1) There was a good amount of damage to some of our antique furniture that wasn't wrapped very well when they used ratchet straps to secure it. Unfortunately, we didn't notice it until after they left and didn't have before and after pictures to prove that it was them. 2) About 20% of their truck was full of their own moving supplies; dollies, lots of boxes and tons of furniture pads that we didn't need. Fortunately we had *just* enough space making two trips, but if we had to make another trip because their 16' truck ended up just being a 12' or 14' it would have cost quite a bit of money and we would have been very annoyed.

We had a great experience from the start. I found a coupon on Angie's List, and contacted G&J for details. They were very responsive both by phone and email. I worked with Jeff to figure out the best plan (truck size, number of movers, etc), and he was knowledgeable and helpful. On the day of the move, the movers were on time (they called ahead, which I appreciated), friendly, and careful with everything. They were also flexible, as we threw in an extra stop at the last minute. The price was good - or at least comparable with other companies I contacted. They didn't have a lot of additional charges, like mileage or travel charges, which other companies had. I would definitely recommend G&J to friends.

If there was something higher than a 'A', that is what I would give these guys, across the board. Their 3-man moving crew was punctual, responsive, detail-oriented, and dilliogent. We has several pieces of furniture that were both heavy and delicate. They took considerable care to wrap them correctly, so that they wouldnt get damaged. Several times we asked them to treat an item in a special way, and they had noproblem doing that. We asked them to put several of our items in special places in our house, mand in special ways, and they did that without any kind of complaint. None of our furniture was damaged. Additionally, and of equal importance, they did a good job of articulating the items and serives associated with the move, and then the price of each. In the end, the price was close to what they estimated it to be. Now hidden costs, and no 'sticker shock' due to costs that were incorrectly estimated! All in all, these guys took something that looked like a nightmare (moving), and made it out to be an OK experience.

All in all, a decent job done. The price was way lower than all of the other companies I looked into. The crew was respectful and extremely hard working. The main issue we had was that the move was supposed to take one day to pack AND move even though I suggested to the person who arranged the job on the phone that we may want to pack one day and then move the next. The job took so long because they tried to cram this all into one day that we didn't finish the move until after midnight (we started at 8AM), which was both discourteous to our new neighbors and extremely problematic for us in light of the fact we have a toddler and desperately needed to be settled in to go to bed. Additionally, we discovered several things were left behind in our old place when we went back the next day to clean up. While the crew was great and hardworking, I attibute our issues to a lack of management even though we tried to let them know how much stuff we had and that we wanted to split this move into 2 days. Finally, I learned that the crew had been double booked and were initially expected to complete our entire pack and move job from 8-1 and then do ANOTHER job somewhere else! That would have been insanity and a little cruel to the actual movers who sweated out the job. Again, a little better management would go a long way.

I asked that the contents of a one-bedroom high-rise apartment be picked up, then another pickup at a single-family home, (also about a 1-bedroom apartment worth of contents), for delivery to a two-bedroom condo. At that location, furniture and belongings had to be moved from both upstairs rooms and a basement area. The three-man team arrived as scheduled, and completed the move swiftly and efficiently, in less time than was originally quoted. They were friendly, communicative, and worked quickly and carefully. I have used other companies in the past, and they were good enough, but G&J was GREAT! I highly recommend them for their overall efficiency and professionalism.

They showed up on time, were well prepared and presented themselves well, adapted to a problem with an overlapping move, and were fast, efficient and careful. Nothing was dropped or damaged. A pleasure to work with.

Provider arrived as promised, packed and wrapped carefully, and moved the items from our condo to a storage unit. Altogether a stress free move. Provider was friendly, professional, and efficient.

These guys were fantastic. They were professional, friendly and very efficient. They were very clear about all costs, and made sure I was fully informed and in agreement any time they needed to do something that would incur an extra cost (like wrapping my big screen tv in a protective cover) or extra time (like disassembling my furniture to fit it up the stairs). They made sure everything was placed in the proper room and all of the furniture was configured how I wanted it in the new home. They finished the move in ~3 hours, which I thought was great given the amount of stuff they moved. The cost was very cheap compared with other providers, but there was no compromise in quality. I would definitely hire them again.

They were hardworking, quick and diligent. Moving is a tedious task and they seemed to be doing it very well without any kind of concern for damaging my furniture or anything like that. The main guy who ran the crew always explained what he was going to do, and what was going to happen, before anything happened. He was very detailed and descriptive and very meticulous about explaining what was going to happen and what the possible charges were, and were I okay with all that. That was the only thing that stood out for me. They were running a little behind.

Excellent. They were very prompt, knowledgeable of the best way to move everything. The workers were very polite. A pleasure to work with.

It went very well. The two moves were accomplished professionally and in a timely manner. There were no surprises and we would not hesitate to use them again.

It was fine. They did a good job. The $359 special was for two guys and a 16 foot truck. Then there was an extra hour involved and then there were the packing of materials. So there were additional charges. It took them five hours to complete the service. It was my first time using them. The price was fair. They were great. They took care to wrap everything. They were very good. They did everything that I wanted them to do.

I made arrangements to be here for that time block. At 10:45 nobody had called, so I called them. After fumbling around, the person on the phone said that somehow they didn't have me in their schedule for today. More fumbling. Five mminutes of "checking into it" later, they claim to have me on their schedule for Monday. I would not have agreed to Monday the 14th, as I have another obligation that day. What a waste of my morning.

These guys were pros. They arrived on time and were customer service oriented and friendly. They were efficient in their work and moved quickly. They took care of all my equipment and furniture, wrapping the pieces and delivering them professionally.

It worked out fine for me. They were prompt and they did the move relatively quickly. Noting was damaged which is always good when I am moving. Everything was just very satisfactory. They were very quick and handled everything in a very professional manner. It was a big deal purchase. There were few additional charges for packing supplies and also for an extra hour of work.

The move went good. They were fast and efficient. The cost was great with the coupon and only had to pay for an extra half an hour.

It all went well. They contacted us prior to arrival, arrived on time, padded the items which needed protection, and moved everything without incident. The three gentlemen were polite and professional.

Professional, showed up on time. They were careful with the furniture and packed everything carefully. No complaints.

The movers arrived on time and moved our valuables quickly and efficiently. We did lose one small leg for our sectional. But, it is virtually unnoticeable. The legs had to be removed for transfer. They did manage to pack all of our stuff into one truck so that an additional trip was not necessary. All in all, it was great!

I spoke with Alex on the phone to get a detailed description of the job I needed done. He was professional, to the point explaining all charges and additional charges if needed. The crew arrived and began work immediately after seeing where the items were to be moved. They worked from the time they arrived until all items were moved to the new location. I would highly recommend GJ Moving to anyone looking for movers. Their service was GREAT!!!

The guys that showed up to do my move were very professional and courteous. As they were disassembling the furniture that needed to be disassembled, they made sure to point out any damage that was there. I appreciated that because that has never been done before by any mover I've used in the past.

We are so glad to have come across G&J Movers, thanks to Angie's list. The movers arrived on time and after a quick inspection, got to work. They began after 10 am and were done with the whole move by 2 pm. This was just great, their speed did not mean sloppy work by any chance. The team of 3 was professional in their work and behavior. There was no unnecessary chit chat. They didn't even take a lunch break on our time and after 4 hours of satisfactory work, cordially left. Nothing broke or was misplaced. My husband was really pleased with their work and gave them a hefty well-deserved tip as well. This company is highly recommended if you wish to have an affordable and a stress free move!
