I would definitely recommend them. I have nothing but the best to say about them expect for the price. The price is in the middle of the road. They did an awesome job. They are just a great company. They pay attention. They take a lot of work off me because they get the permits and all of that. They clean up their mess very well. Once they started, I didn’t have to worry about any of it. I even would go out and offer them something to drink but they would say, "Nay we are fine".

They quoted me a price that was way high and tried to use some sales tactics such as the guy doesn't know what he is doing when he comes out to your house then says they have to call a manager to get price differences. It was just an overall bad experience. I was told that certain things would not be charged to me but after I had paid for my bill completely they came back later and charged me more. There are lots of things that I had to have them come back out to redo on the house because the team they re-sent did a poor quality job installing it the first time. I would ask them even after they had come out the second time to reinstall the stuff that they saw was wrong. I asked them to fix some other stuff and they would not do it. Trying to get them to stop calling me afterwards is almost impossible. Even though they do not want to fix the problems that are wrong with my house they still call me and try to do service calls. They are very annoying since if they are not going to fix something why would they call me?

I just moved into my first house back in 2009. I was moving stuff out of my garage into my house and was approached by a couple of kids walking around the neighborhood. They set me up with a sales guy who came a few hours later. He wanted both my wife and I there, but we had so much going on. Anyway, he quoted me for $8,000 for 12 windows for their spectacular windows. He talked trash on all of the other window companies and told me that the windows would improve the cost of my home by $10,000. I told him that I wanted to think about it and he called his boss on the phone and told me that if i signed a contract today they would knock $500.00 off the price. I am familiar with this run around as I have been in sales myself. I told him I wanted time to think about it and he called again. Again, I told him I wanted to wait. Well, two years later. I am still getting knocks on my door and phone calls. I asked to be removed from the list and have had no luck. THESE PEOPLE ARE ANNOYING...DO NOT GET YOUR WINDOWS THROUGH THEM. DONT EVEN GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION!!! Buyer beware!!! Hope this helps

We felt the price was a little high, but we are satisfied with the finished product. The employee that came and did the job was very competent and knew what he was doing. I did not like that they kept calling me trying to get more business that wasn't necessarily needed around my home. They didn't seem to take "no" for an answer.

We had theses people in our home to show us their product and give us a quote. First of all the guys were late, when they arrived they came in a 1994 Nissan or something, and they both smelled like smoke. No big deal, just the first flag that these guys are unprofessional. They showed us their windows and we were pretty impressed, although the whole time they bashed all of the other companies in the area. We thought that unprofessional. They gave us their quote, which was very high, and proceeded to pressure us though we were very clear with them that we were not going to buy that day we just wanted a quote. They told us if we bought that day we get a discount, if we put a sign out front we would get a discount, if we financed there would be a discount but we had to sign that day to get any of the discounts. Again we were clear that didn't want to decide that day we just wanted a quote. At this point the lead salesman got on his phone to talk to his boss. The guy is in my house, on my couch, in front of me and my wife talking to his boss and he said, " Yes I told them about the sign today special, and the yard sign, they said they didn't want to save money today." It was at this point I asked the two salesmen to leave my house.

When I signed the papers I told the salesman "I was going out of town for 10 days, was in the middle of renavating my bathroom (myself) and I did not want to start another project for a month. I got back in town on a Wednesday and the material was delivered on Friday. I was told they where starting on Monday, 8am. At about 10am the crew boss showed up and discussed the job with me. The ladders and scaffuling was delivered 8pm the next day. The crew usually started at 9-10am and went until 4 or 8pm. The salesperson said he would check on the job periotically. I never saw or heard from him or anyone from the company again. I was the job manager. The crew boss came and went, as he was doing other jobs. (Most of the workers did NOT speak English). It was horrable. I should have gotten pictures of real jobs they had done so I would have been aware of the color placements of trim around doors, windows, outside fixtures. Big mistake. There are serveral variations for placement. The crew boss collected the check at the end of the job. If he didn't they would not have gotten paid, he said. They did everything on the front porch except the post and railings (ceilng, trim, roof frame). I asked the boss if he would just wrap the post with scraps he had left over. He called and they said no. That is when someone came out and gave me a price of $3000 to do the whole porch. I have gotten other things done by other companies so I know what good customer services is. After I signed I was abandoned. For the money I spent I would like to have gotten a thank you note.
Description of Work: I WISH I HAD READ THESE REVIEWS BEFORE I AGREED TO THE PRESENTATION. I would not have considered them at all. They where to put new siding over the old board siding, including trims. They where to repair, wrap or cover all parts that needed painting.

We had a similar experience to the report by the member who was approached in his yard in June. We had just moved into our home 2 weeks prior and we got the same schpeel about the rebate if we made an appointment. After a 3 hour "demo" the sales rep quoted us almost $3,000 for just 2 windows. We were floored. The rep called the manager and made a "deal" saying if we put a sign up they could knock the price down to about $2,000. We gave them a deposit check for $1,000 that night because the deal would go away if we didn't do it that day. We called back the next day and asked them to void out the check, which they did, because we realized there was no way to afford these windows. We also realized there were plenty of other options that were much more affordable. I suppose if you have the funds this is a good company. But at almost 1,200 bucks per window...you get get a really nice new car after all your windows would've been replaced

They came out and gave us a three hour song and dance. High pressure sales pitch about the windows which was ok until they got to the price. When I told them that the price was high, they came down with the price. When I still told them I wasn't interested, they came down even more. Then the phone call started for a month. We used to get a couple of calls a week from them or more. I think the first week we got several calls. They called and said that they had a special deal. That to me was an indicator and I didn't want to anything with my house. They were unprofessional. Their process and putting in a proposal was just really, tremendously inappropriate and unprofessional. They were pretty responsive.

They do a really good job of being on time, being courteous and explaining everything they are doing. They explain things as they go along and if something happens they are really good. I ask a lot of questions and they are always really patient with me. Everything was really good with that. I wish they had done a better job on the clean up; they left little pieces of metal lying around. I still find things every now and then that I pick up. When they took off the door there was a little bit of trim of the top that they took off and that is where the house numbers were for my house. When they put the trim back they didn't put back the house numbers and didn't tell me about it. It would have been nice for them to have told me. Also they realized that my screen door wasn't going to fit with the new door so now I don't have a screen door. They did call me and adjust the price of the installation in order to cover the cost of the door. It was unexpected and since they install doors I would have expected them to notice that beforehand.

I do not have a very good feeling about this company even though I have heard some good things about them.
Description of Work: "Appointment Getter" stopped by and rang my doorbell. I was impressed with her and was planning to do some work so I agreed to have a sales rep provide an estimate. She asked if I was married and asked for her name. We agreed to a date and time for a sales rep to call. Two reps arrived on time. They were friendly and nicely dressed. After a walk around the house they proceeded to tell me how great the product was in general terms, and how great their work would be. I noticed we were never getting to specifics. The reps finally told me that it was company policy not to give information without all homeowners present. I explained that their "Appointment Getter" pushed for the meeting and never told me to have my wife present. I explained that my wife might not want to be involved yet. They said that they would like to make another appointment when my wife would be at home and left. They wasted an hour of my time.

Consumers should know that we have a very strict policy in giving our pricing and presentations to BOTH (or all) homeowners at the same time. It is important especially with married homeowners that both are involved and included in receiving information on such an important part of a families' net worth. Both members of the household are therefore equally invested in deciding to have, or not have, work done. We would be doing our customers a disservice if we did not make sure that all homeowners are apprised equally and openly of our services and products. This would have been addressed by the Canvasser taking the appointment (hence the question about the spouse), and also by the Confirmer who called and confirmed the appointment and details thereof. We appreciate the Member's kind comments on our salespersons professionalism and want this Member to know that we have our client's best interest embedded in our policies.

Paramount Builders' sales representative, Steve Seidl took his time explaining in detail the product that the company offers and drove us around the area to show completed projects in comparison to other company's products. Once at the home, he throroughly explained everything that could/couldn't be done with our existing premises. Never once did my husband nor I feel, "this deal is only good for today" as other firms have done in the past. He submitted a quote, we negotiated and the deal was signed. Upon completion of work, no unforeseen adjustments were added to the final statement. The job was to be a two-man crew however one of the crew mebers was out due to an injury but that did not prevent Carl from performing an exceptional job. Carl promptly arrived at 0900 every AM; if there was a an unexpected delay due to weather (wind, rain and snow) he called us every time. His crafstmanship in the application of the products was impeccable. In fact both neighbors have requested work due to Carl's "attention to detail". We definitely got our money's worth from this job. The house looks fabulous and I don't have to worry about my husband on extension ladders any more!

I had Paramount come out and give me an estimate on some siding for my house. The house is worth around $175k, and the price they came back with was around $50K. That's right, just under a third of the total property value. The salesman that came out was rude and unprofessional. He told me he wouldn't be able to give me an estimate until my wife was able to sit there for his sales pitch. Kids wouldn't allow that and he had to call his boss for a go ahead. He was pushy and demeaning. I don't ever want to hear the words Paramount again. They are just trying to rip people off.

The salesman was convassing the neighborhood so we allowed him to demonstrate the "exceptional" windows that only Paramount had the exclusive right to sell. We were impressed with the windows but not the price. They quoted us $10000.00 to replace 14 windows. We only agreed to replace the front part of the house since it was directly hit with afternoon sun and would provide us the greatest benefit but those 5 windows cost $5000.00. The men who came out to perform the work were courteous and quick, but the quality of work performed was substandard because they failed to seal the interior and exterior of more than one window. Within a year of having them installed, a stop (that prevents the window from opening more than a few inches) on one window had fallen off and had to be super-glued back on. When the salesman advised us on the window selection, he failed to take into account the type and style of our shutters, so now we have windows with a center sash, equal size top and bottom panes, and shutters that do not line up properly. The shutters have a smaller panel on top and larger panel on bottom, therefore, we need to replace the shutters to match the windows. We take full responsibilty for being naive about not researching and for paying too much for windows, but the overall quality of workmanship and lack of a thorough job by the salesman and installers is unacceptable. I would not recommend using this company to anyone. Update May 2011: Regardless of the response to my original report, no one from Paramount has since tried to contact me. My phone number and address have not changed.

We have tried to reach this Member multiple times in hopes of a final resolution to her issues, but have not received any response either by phone or email.
They were horrible. They are one of those construction companies that hire sleazy salesmen that work on commission. The first time they came out they wouldn't give me a quote, the guy said thank you for your time and never called back. The next time they said they would send a manager and not a salesman. They came late and sent another salesmen and pretty much did the same thing, they wouldn't give me a quote on the spot and never called me back. The next time they contacted me I told them I didn't want to deal with them because they were very unprofessional. After getting a general price for just one window in my house and doing research on the company that makes the window, I found they had marked up the price over 100%. I figured out they aren't the only company that does that. The biggest thing was that I caught the salesman in a lie. They offered financing and the said the financing doesn't start until the job was done and they could take it up to 18 months at 0%, after that 18 months they back date to the beginning and mark up the balance to 17%. For 21 windows alone they wanted $36,000. For a bay window they wanted $5,000. They didn't even go through and check all my windows, they said every time they had to come back to check things the price would go up. Towards the end of this when I finally got the quote and I was looking at financial options and realized it was too much money for the work. They tried to turn it around on me and make it personal. They pointed out all the time they had invested and said that he had a family and a new baby. I told him I had a family too.

We had them start with one window to see how they would do. The window itself is good, although I feel the product was probably overpriced, but their sale was very high pressure and I did not like that. They did not do a good job installing the window; I was expecting good quality work from them. I called them to and their explanation was “that’s the way we do it.” They didn’t put any kind of insulation in before they put on flashing, and before they put caulk in I could see daylight around the window. They didn’t try to fix what the builder failed to do, they just put the window in the way it was. They put the window in against the drywall so there is no type of framing between the outside exposed exterior and the drywall other than the metal flashing. I’m going to have to pull the window out and install it properly. They were poorly prepared for the installation and they didn’t have a ladder that was long enough so they tied two ladders together; I can’t believe that they were willing to do something so unsafe. They were a day late and I was not impressed with their professionalism. One or two people were alright but everyone else was either high pressure or not properly trained. I would never use them again.

This Member was a particularly challenging job; in that the homeowners had had previous work done on their home, a room addition, that had improper roofing construction. These issues did not become apparent until Paramount's work had already begun. The reason for the extra costs at that point were a direct result of having to add materials and labor to correct previously done (shoddy) workmanship. The Member conveyed that she did sue that previous contractor in a court of law. The Member did sign off on the work Paramount did as "satisfied" and the issue has been resolved.

I had used Paramount to replace my windows three years ago and had gotten quotes from Lowes and Home Depot (in-store estimates) prior to meeting with the representative from Paramount. The representative was thorough in his explanations; sometimes vague, but he was patient and answered all of my questions. The price quoted me from Paramount was higher than those from the stores, but within reason; and, since I had them do work for me before, I felt more comfortable having them do it and was therefore willing to pay a little more. I did stick to my budget, however, and the representative made adjustments to the work and materials until we got it under a price I felt comfortable at. The door had to be special ordered and took a little longer than first expected to get in and we had some difficulty working around my schedule and the weather; for the most part, the representative was proactive and consistent about contacting me (we ended up leaving alot of messages for each other), except one Saturday I thought they were coming and they didn't). In the end, they ended up installing on a very hot Saturday. The installation team (two guys) came later in the morning than I expected, and I wish they had called to confirm the appointment a day or two before--especially since we had previously had delays--because I had started to think that they wouldn't make it. When they did arrive, they were courteous and clarified what they would be working on that day. The heat was terrible, but we took it in stride and the door and facie were installed by the end of the day. They cleaned up well inside, but I am still finding nails, screws and other pieces of material from the yard--most likely from tearing down the old gutter. With the new door on, they found that the storm door wouldn't fit back on (the handles ran into each other); the installer explained it to me and suggested I hold off making the payment I was to have given him that day until they cleared up the storm door issue. They came back Monday while I was at work to finish put up the gutters and Wednesday I got a call from my original representative to set up a meeting about the storm door. When he came, he apologized and said that they only did standard storm doors, so I would need to get one from another company (recommending Lowes). He then reduced my remaining bill by almost $300 to cover the cost of getting a new storm door. I was a little less happy with my overall experience than I was for my last job. As mentioned, the appointment wasn't confirmed (like last time), there was some confusion on my part over when the appointment was, and I was suprised that they wouldn't have known that the doors wouldn't have worked together. I still would recommend them, though, because they do make things right in the end; last time I had to have them back once to recaulk my windows a few months after they were installed, and there was no hassle. For me, knowing that they value their repuation helps me to trust them with my home (and my money).
Description of Work: I had a wooden front door and sidelights replaced. Also, they replaced my gutters and the rotted facie to which they had been attached.

While working in my yard, I was approached by an advertising agent from Paramount saying they were trying to "increase their exposure in this neighborhood" and wanting to set up an appointment with me at a more convenient time. They handed me a coupon for a rebate on window installation. I set the appointment for the next day and the salesman came right on time with a friend. After a brief introduction, the salesman launched into a high-pressure pitch that the mafia would be proud of. I recorded almost all of it on my phone, all THREE HOURS of it. The salesman would do well in low-budget soap operas with all his showy antics, rhetorical questions and dramatic pauses. He seemed so confident in the Preservation window, that a customer would be left wondering if anything else on earth was fit to transmit visible light! After the aforementioned 3 hour pitch during which I had barely 5 minutes to squeeze in questions, and during which the other salesman (or briefcase carrier more likely) spoke about three words in agreement with his verbose counterpart, the guy finally got down to brass tacks and hit me with the figure...$21,300. I actually thought to myself, "holy cow, I guess windows will have to wait until...never!" I told him that I never buy without doing my homework, and that I would keep his offer in mind. He actually asked if I was put off by the price. I said of course. He asked how much would he have to come down for me to buy that night. I again said that I never buy without doing homework, unless the offer was ridiculously low, and even then I'd be suspicious. He got on his phone and made a few calls. After he hung up, he said that he talked to a manager and if I'd be willing to put a sign in my front yard for at least 3 weeks or so, and since they had a special offer running, I could get the windows - only if I bought that night - for ONLY $15,500. I should have thrown him out on the spot for playing games and wasting my time. The way I saw it, if this new price really was reasonable, he just admitted to trying to rip me off for about $6,000 only 10 minutes earlier. Instead I again declined his offer and after an urge to reconsider, I offered him the door. Over the next 4 months, Paramount kept calling asking me to reconsider. In March I caved and agreed to have another associate come calling. I was promised that this would be a manager, not a commission-based sales rep. Well it was a sales rep anyway. I told him the story of the previous guy and warned him that I wasn't happy about the experience and I gave him the low-ball price from before. He re-measured, and quoted me at $13,500. This guy was not as high-pressure as before, he wanted to be my friend because of my bad previous experience with Paramount. I kept his quote and called the Window Man who gave me better windows with a much better warrantee for only $6,650. Shop around people, Paramount isn't the only vendor with quality
