BUYER BEWARE - don't give them your phone number unless you want to be harassed. I have filed 2 FTC complaints. If they read this - do not call me - remove me from your list!!!

A total of 4 people worked on the job at two different dates. Two people installed my new vehicle garage door and did an excellent job. Two people (carpenters) did all the other worked mentioned above, and did an outstanding job too. I am very pleased with the finished products and workmanship.

Some salespeople from Paramount Builders were canvassing in our neighborhood a few months ago, and approached me as I was getting my kids out of the car. They were very polite, but pretty pushy, and I stupidly gave them our phone number. And then they starting calling twice a day, every day, for a couple weeks. We had decided not to have any work done at this point, and my husband called them back and asked to have our number removed--twice. Eventually the calls stop--and then start up again a month later out of the blue, requiring another request to remove us from the list. Additionally, we had more canvassers come through the neighborhood again another day, and this time I told them we weren't interested, and explained that they had had our number before and would not stop calling us--to which the salesperson asked if we had scheduled a consultation, and when told no, said "That's why." Okay... I can't speak to the work Paramount does, but if their business model is to drum up business through harrassment, I don't think I would ever want to work with them.

What stood out the most was their quality. They are professional, have a good price for the quality and work is done in a timely manner.

This company had canvassers going through our neighborhood knocking on doors, commenting on possible work that might be done for the house, and setting up appointments. We figured, "Fine, it's a free estimate. Maybe we'll like the price and get some work done." The salesman arrived the next evening. He was early and I saw him waiting in his car. He came to the door at the appointed time (punctuality). He was a good talker but also seemed to know his stuff. He acknowledged that his prices, "on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 highest), would be a 7, but that's because they use quality materials." Fine. For the work quoted - front of the house only: metal trim coil on the ridges, fascias, frieze boards, around the 2-car garage door, and replacement of one soffit with a vented soffit (including pulling back the insulation with a baffle in the roof space) - we thought the quoted price was good. The salesman was clear to indicate that Paramount does not do "estimates." They calculate the price and that is the price (unless you get a further discount on it). Near the end of the discussion, I told the salesman that I had a number of other contractors I was waiting on for estimates and I could not agree to something that night. They offer a discount if you sign the contract the same-day, but the salesman was very courteous about it and asked how long I would need before I could get back to him, even suggesting 30 or 60 days. I told him I'd get back to him in 30 days and he said that was good. This salesman was very professional, very courteous, and quite personable. His company is not - this is where the F grade comes from. The next day, the phone calls began. My wife took the call and later relayed to me that they asked why we didn't sign a contract the night before. They offered us a small discount if we would sign for the work. My wife said no, and that we and the salesman had agreed to let us consider it for 30 days. She asked them not to call her again about it. They continued to call, using various phone numbers. I missed the most recent call (at 8:30am on a Saturday), but I called them back and got their answering system. I relayed my concerns and told them to stop harassing us. I do not know if they are working some warped version of good cop/bad cop, but from my perspective, it completely undermines the salesman. He loses all credibility when his company harasses potential customers. For this reason alone (despite the apparent quality of materials and decent price), I will not work with them. I imagine if you are someone who has done all his research and are ready to sign something the day of a quote presentation, you wouldn't have this type of issue. However, regardless of quality of work and materials, you should think twice about working with a company that behaves this way.

The job was to replace the existing wood porch railings with vinyl railings and add soffits. The work and professionalism were great. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. I am very satisfied with the work and the quality of the material. The only part of the experience that I did not care for was the sales. They are one of those companies that you have to listen to their spiel about the quality of their products before you can get a quote. I understand the necessity, it is just that it takes three or four hours out of your evening to get a quote. Despite that, the salesman was personable, pleasant and informative and if it wasn't for the amount of time I probably would not have even mentioned it. In short, they offer a high quality vinyl that they guarantee will last and not discolor. The company was professional and I am very satisfied. You get what you pay for. If you do not want to pay a premium price for higher quality material and professionalism, or if you do not want to spend three or four hours to get a quote then this company is not for you. However, if you can spend the time, and want a good product this company may suit your needs. I would recommend them to others. In fact, I am going to eventually get a new vinyl garage door and entry door from this company. I just have to do it a little at a time because of the cost.

I have had the windows for two years now and no issues.

Everyone knows Paramount as the people that knock at your house at least once a quarter. I had them give me an estimate for windows and siding. They spend two hours at my house trying to hard sell me into making an immediate decision to sign a contract. Finally I caved because they said I could cancel the contract within I believe it was 24 hrs. Whatever it was I canceled it in time. After canceling they called me back to ask why. I told them it was the price. After trying to re-explain the financing they could do and payment options, which they had just told me before(that is why initial consult took so long), I told them I still wasn't interested at the price they quoted. They then offered the same deal at 20% off. That angered me that they wouldn't give me the best price up front. I hung up after that.

We appreciated the excellent service we received. You get what you pay for.

I wasn't too happy with them. I think they are a little overpriced and they had this kind of a game they play like once they get into your house, you can't get them out. After you say you don't want them then they put somebody else on the phone and that person is trying to convince you to get something you don't want. It was a real hassle. They quoted me a wrong estimate and came back and said it was more expensive than what they had quoted the first time. It wasn't really a good experience. I did get the work done by them because that was the only way I could get rid of them. I think I paid around $8,700 and it would have been a lot more, but they lowered it. What they did was they gave me a cheaper version for more money and I refused so they gave me the better version for less money. It wasn't until I got on Angie's List that I've known some things existed. If I had known, I would have gotten a roof inspector. They have that on Angie's List where they come and check your roof and do a little bang-bang here and there if you need it, but I wasn't aware it existed. I went on Angie's List and saw roof repair and by that time I had already put a new roof on. When I went to their timeline, I found that people were complaining about the same thing that I am complaining about like the hard sell.

Products were very good. Salesman did talk other companies. However, service and installation were good.
