Mottern Masonry Design

Jeff ran by my Home and looked at the damage and suggested me to do the Powerwash myself. He suggested that the Mold would go away with the Powerwash and said no other repair is needed.

The overall experience and quality was excellent. I was very happy with them and their professionalism was great.

People from Mottern Masonry Design were very nice. They were very young. They were very pleasant. They gave me a couple of alternatives. I did not use them yet. When I called them, they were very polite and gave me a date. It was a free estimate. I thought it was a little bit too late to get the brick work done. However, they told me that it wouldn't get worse during the winter but there is no guarantee that the crack would not come back again. So, I am debating on having the whole thing redone again. I would call them again. They were very personable.

We described what we wanted with the shade and color, as well as the type of stone. They understood and even suggested showed photos with examples to provide me with a better understanding of what they could do. I was very impressed and very happy with the finished product. Better than I had even expected.

Jeff and his crew built a lovely pressed concreat patio in our backyard. It has a beautiful stone wall and has enhanced our home tremendously. Jeff came up with several options for us and did the job within 2 weeks. We were delighted.

Mottern's crew came in, assessed teh situation and worked almost continuously for several days. They picked up after themselves and were very respectful of the house and the occupants.

I asked Mottern Masonary Design come evaluate a cement driveway that has been scaling and cracking. He was very honest and recommended that we do nothing. He said he could come in and charge me thousands of dollars to put a top coat on the driveway to make it look nice for a short period of time but that it would continue to break down. It wasn't worth spending the money until we were ready to replace the defective sections of cement. I appreciated his honesty. He suggested that I contact the origninal company and explore any warrenty on the work.

We had been needing to replace our driveway and carport for several years. I watched a contractor working nearby on Sydenstryker Rd. and liked what I saw. I stopped and spoke with the homeowner and he couldn't have given a better recommendation for Mottern Masonry Design. I left messages for 3 contractors. Mottern called back the same day and made an appointment to meet with us the following day. One other contractor called the next day and the third never called back. The second estimate was a bit lower than Mottern however the work described did not compare to what Mottern proposed. Given the high recommendation of a satisfied customer and the personable approach of the owner Jeff Mottern, we decide to go with the higher bid. As agreed, the men showed up on Monday morning and worked diligently, completing the work in 4 days. The employees were of the highest calibre, hard working with a good sense of humor and always ready with an answer to any questions we had. Two large bushes had to be removed to accomodate the widened driveway and to our suprise, they replanted them when the work was done. This is the 2nd most expensive project we have undertaken with our house in 20 years and there have been plenty. By far, Jeff and his company were the best we ever worked with and we will be delighted to show off their handiwork and give a great recommendation to all who ask.

When the estimate was given I appreciated that he looked at my whole house (which is brick) and included the repair of a number of cracks. They came when expected and the work went well. The estimate had included a larger amount if there was extensive damage (which there wasn't) and they reduced the price by $200 because there was less than expected. I certainly appreciated that. I would use them again.

They had some communication problem and it took a little while for them to get the job completed. After they did, I was satisfied. Their quality was fine because I couldn’t get up there and inspect it myself.

Contractor set appointment for estimate and arrived as scheduled. Very personable, answered all questions. When we decided to have the work done, he was able to schedule the job within a week. We had a few day delay in the start but only due to rainy weather which we had anticipated and been advised of the possibility by Mr. Mottern. Our border plants were removed so the walkway could be accessed. They were clumped together in a safe place and we were able to replant them without any loss when walkway was complete. We were notified every day as to the progress, the work schedule, and the estimated finish date. It took approximately 3 days total. There was no mess or trash left in our yard at any time. The foreman came back to inspect the work and clean off the walkway. Also, Mr. Mottern returned to make sure that all was done to our satisfaction. The team was very professional, informative, industrious, meticulous about their work and respectful of our property. We are very pleased with our new walkway and most definitely would recommend them. Called this contractor for an estimate to repair some bricks on my front steps. Within a couple of hours they called back. Without seeing anything I was told that I would probably have to have the whole set of brick steps replaced. Told them I didn't want to go that far. I was then told their minimum charge is $500 to do any work. I agreed that this might be reasonable, but I would need more estimates. They agreed to go out at 3:30 to look at the needed work, and then call me with their estimates. I left work early to catch up with them at 3:30. No one ever showed up and no one has called back !!!!

I called Mottern Masonry Design on Monday Oct 3rd. I left a message on their voice mail and the call was returned within 15 minutes by Jeff Mottern. Jeff came out that day and gave me an estimate on the work to be done. Jeff was polite, direct and clear on what his company would do, who would do it and when they could do it. He have me a clearly written description of the work to be done and a written estimate. I accepted his proposal and just as Jeff had said, his guys were at my house a week later. George, the lead mason, and two other men worked steadily for 2 days to finish the job. The new porch, walk and garden box are beautiful and well designed. They came back the third day to clean the stones to bring out the colors. Jeff came by the next day to see the finished product and called me since I was not home to ensure that I was satisfied. From the first moment of contact with Jeff to the end of the job, Jeff and his masons were polite, professional, reliable and competent. My neighbors are already getting estimates for work at their homes after seeing the beautiful work they have done.

Jeff (the owner) promptly replied to my request for an estimate. We talked about various options and Jeff gave me the various price points. The prices were all very competitive. I settled on the Gray colored stamped concrete approach. It?s a significant cost savings from flagstone, and in my opinion looks just as good. Highly recommend you consider that option if you?re in the market for a concrete based patio. Jose, Jeff's foreman on the project, and his crew did an excellent job. Very courteous and prompt each day. We ran into weather related delays, but the crew effectively worked around it and finished the project on time. The crew was also able to work around the A/C units, saving me money from getting them disconnected. I'm very happy with the end result and highly recommend Mottern Masonry.

Jeff the owner came out and checked out the problem; told me what he suggested be done and told me the cost. I decided to go with him because of his suggestions,knowledge,great personality and reasonable price. His workers arrived on time and diden't rush through the job. They kept me informed of what they where doing, and showed me as they went along. They did a beautiful job,and cleaned up after themselves.
