Lester Garcia came out personally to do the estimate and came back to review the work his crew did at the end of the day and a half job. His two man crew was very professional and friendly and worked with as little disruption as possible. Lester was willing to work with me to help reduce my overall cost based on the demolition work I was willing to do myself to prepare for the tile. This was a small job ( 70 square feet ) and some other companies were not interested in bidding, but Lester lived up to the "no job too big or too small" motto on his van. I will definitely contact him again when I am ready to take on additional projects.

I am extremely pleased with MHI's work on the remodeling project they completed at my home - complete kitchen and partial dining room. Lester Garcia was MHI's project's lead from start to finish. The entire MHI staff who supported my project demonstrated professionalism, craftsmanship, and an exemplary work ethic. I recommend others to consider MHI for their projects.

Met with in September for large scale attic renovation. Friendly. Got back to us with bid estimate. Reasonable. Elected to use someone else who better fit our budget and timeline.

The bathroom is beautiful. Lester came up with the ideas for the tile we would never have thought of. Lester and his crew were on time and kept the house clean while they were working. If Lester does the work, it will be absolutely perfect. Everything his crew did looks great. The only reason for the C on professionalism is that after a minor mishap by one of the workers, the worker became a bit nasty to us for the rest of the job and kind of rushed through things. This same worker also has no regard for his own safety as he was using dangerous cutting equipment without wearing safety glasses, even after we provide a new pair for the worker to wear when cutting tile. It may be that this worker was uncomfortable because he is allergic to cats, but was sent on this job anyway by his manager. These are all small things, but cast a haze over an otherwise perfect job.

This is an awesome crew of people. After Lester's crew ran the electrical I added a coax cable for a TV. (I forgot to ask Lester to do it) When the electrical inspector came the next day he failed us due to my putting the cable there. Not only did Lester send someone out to fix it, his crew worked nights and over the weekend to make up for the lost day of work. Throughout the process Lester offered great suggestions on how to improve our ideas for finishing the room.

They were punctual and very professional in their work. I would highly recommend them to do home improvements!

It was fine. They were on time, they didn't leave any mess, they did exactly what they're gonna do. I'd recommend them.

We had a good portion of the wooden trim on our front porch showing signs of rot so we searched Angie's List for a contractor to pull down the rotting wood, replace it with new wood and paint to match the remaining trim. We decided to add a cement stair to our front porch as well. Contacted 3 contractors and received 3 quotes. MHI was the last quote we received but Lester's (owner of MHI) was also the least expensive. He also itemized the work which clearly identified what he would be doing and how much each section of work would cost. We contracted him for the work and set up a tentative date to get the work done. He did not require any payment up front, so payment was to be provided upon completion. As planned, he showed up first thing on a dry morning and installed the cement step with quick dry cement. It turned out great and was ready for use the next day. The next day he showed up with one of his crews and began taking down the rotted wood. In one day they redid all the trim on the front of my house. Originally, we where only having a few pieces done, but as they got into the job, they found most of the wood was rotting. We discussed the matter and renegotiated the price for doing most of the trim on the front of the house. This process was fairly painless and we feel what got a good deal. For only about 1/4 additional cost, we got double the amount of trim replaced and painted plus some mortar repairs below the trim. He also offered to caulk all the window panels while he was doing the trim. By the end of the day, they had completed all the repairs except for some minor mortar repair which they returned the following week to finish. The work on the trim was great and you could not even tell it was replaced since they did a incredible job on the detail to make sure the repairs tied into the original remaining trim. Overall, Lester's crew was courteous and took their time to get the details correct. Leonard himself was professional and easy to work with. We would definitely use MHI again and recommend Lester's company to others.

Lester Garcia came out to bid the job and was very thorough and clear with his explanation on the scope of work. He worked closely with the structural engineer I had hired. The work site was kept very clean at all times and his staff was very professional and knowledgeable. Lester and his staff were at my home on time every day. The project was completed on time and it turned out beautifully. I highly recommend Lester for any home improvement projects and will definitely use them again.

I highly recommend McLean Home Improvement. Lester Garcia and his team renovated my condo kitchen, master bath, and foyer. Lester was professional and very easy to get along with. I felt very comfortable with his team in my home - whether I was there or not. I live in a 3rd story condo and Lester understood my concerns about my neighbors below, cost, and noise. Early on, Lester came with me to Lowes to help me pick out tile - I was so grateful for this because I didn't know where to start and didn't feel pressured to "overspend". He has also built relationships with electricians, glass, and granite/cabinet vendors. When I told him I wanted a Fairfax County Permit for the bathroom reno (relocated a drain), he took care of it. When my water valve unexpectedly needed to be replaced, he took care of it. His team had to walk up 3 flights of stairs just to reach my front door! They were respectful of work hours as stipulated by my condo association and kept the common areas clean. I am so pleased with the finished product - makes me wish I had done it sooner! Kitchen - replaced all flooring, cabinets, sink, granite countertops, backsplash, painted. Foyer - replaced tile. Master Bath - removed tub and put in a walk-in shower with corner bench and glass frameless door, replaced all flooring, 2 sinks, cabinets, mirrors, granite counter tops, painted. The shower that he created is more fabulous than I ever imagined, like a spa. They were very clean and, at the end of the project, had someone come out and clean my entire condo - included! The entire experience was very positive and I have recommended McLean Home Improvement to all my friends.

Overall, great experience with Lester and his team to install the kitchen tile back splash. Lester truly does great work and I believe he's a perfectionist and takes pride in the quality of his work which I really appreciated. We had a difficult install with subway tiles, a mosaic tile along with trim and herringbone pattern above the range. I thought Lester did a great job. Lester was also accommodating as we ran out of tile and trim and came back to finish the job after the fact. I would recommend Lester and his team and will consider him for future work (including finishing our basement). Our home was brand new and were glad to get this installed before we moved in!

When we solicited bids for the work, this company was not the lowest bidder. However, it was the only bid that addressed all of the requirements we had identified. This work took place over the course of several months during 2012. We had a very good experience with this company. Lester Garcia, his office staff, and his crews were professional, hardworking, and dependable. The bathrooms, in particular, are dramatic improvements which no doubt have enhanced the value of our home. When Mr. Garcia arrived for give an estimate for the bathroom remodel, we pointed out one of the main reasons for the remodel was the leaking bathroom pipes which caused ceiling damage to the dining room below. Even though Mr. Garcia had come only to give the estimate, he was able to diagnose and fix the problem of the leaking pipes, on the spot. During the discussion about the bathrooms, Mr. Garcia was responsible for suggesting several improvements which improved the aesthetics of the bathrooms, as well as other alternatives. Mr. Garcia?s experience was instrumental in helping us to maximize the use of our space, and he offered creative and cost-effective options to achieve what we wanted without compromising the quality. He was especially patient and courteous with our elderly mother who is fastidious and expected meticulous workmanship. He was able to accommodate several changes in design and functionality based on "hidden" options within the walls which was not visible during the estimate. At no time did Mr. Garcia say he couldn't do something, he always presented us with the options and give us information to make informed decisions, as well as his own opinion. If any of us were not 100% satisfied with any aspect of the work, it was addressed immediately. We would use this company again.

I was generally pretty impressed with the work that Mr. Garcia and his crew performed. They worked quickly and actually completed the work several days before the estimated timeframe. Mr Garcia was also receptive to addressing any issues I had and even made some recommendations for some preventative things I need to do in the front of my house (without it feeling like a hard sell :) I waited several years to do this renovation and overall, I'm glad that I chose McLean Home Improvement to do this work. The kitchen looks great! There's a small upgrade that still remains but I anticipate that it will be done shortly. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

McLean Home Improvement were very good. They are extremely focused. They completed the project quicker than as scheduled. They have good value pricing as compared to others. One thing I noticed is that they did a great job with the kitchen backsplash but I am not saying that other part of the whole kitchen job is second-rate or poor only because the backsplash is kind of difficult backsplash and wide backsplash.

First and foremost, Mr. Lester Garcia is a man you will want to do engage in business. He is professional, courteous, honest, prompt and talented. That's a lot to say about someone but I am forever grateful that I found Mr. Garcia on Angie's List. He is the type of individual you want to have as a general contractor. An engineer by training, he knows what he is doing both by training and experience. The work started as a quote to determine whether he could do the work that I required and how much time and cost would be involved. Mr. Garcia worked with me to determine the best approach to do the work and the approximate timeframe for doing the work. We discuss options for materials and the approach he would be taking for doing the work. Pricing on the bid was for quality materials. His crew, which he directly supervised and in some cases, he actually did the work, were polite and respectful of my person and property. They cleaned up every evening and put in a full days work to complete the projects. As of now, I have two beautifully completed bathrooms and a converted garage that is better than some luxury suites I've stayed in. The the kitchen is gutted and ready for build out. The quality of work and the design results are exactly what I had hoped for and I could not be happier. This is no small feat given that I have a 60 year old home that has more than its share of issues, all of which Mr. Garcia was able to deal with and solve in the most appropriate fashion. I am so pleased with the work that Mr. Garcia's McLean Home Improvements has done that I have contracted for additional work to be done. This includes building a sun room and the building of a custom shed. There may be additional projects in future, and I will be contacting Mr. Garcia's McLean Home Improvement first.

It went very well. Lester responded quickly to my first query and provided an estimate within 24 hours. Demo and wallpaper removal took half day; and ceiling installation took half a day, and painting and molding work took a day. The work entailed moving heavy carpeting and some furniture to clear the rooms (we had moved most of the lighter stuff). Crew was capable, courteous and efficient.

I can't say it enough...Lester and his team at McLean Home Improvement LLC are pros through and through. They were on budget, on schedule, extremely pleasant to work with, cleaned up thoroughly after themselves each day, and I've already recommended them to two other friends. If I have a minor or major project going forward, I know I'm going to check with Lester and his team at McLean Home Improvement first.

The bathroom estimate was about right to fix rotted joists in the crawl space, floor tiling, fixing the bathroom wall, etc. His crew was clean and professional.

They did a nice job painting the rooms and a fairly good job cleaning up afterward. I was disappointed to find that when they left, I had a dent in my refrigerator - they had tried to move it (they were painting the kitchen) but were unable to do so as the space was tight, and apparently the dent occurred in the effort. I did not call them about it, as I am not sure that they even knew they had dented it.

Lester Garcia and his team are consummate professionals. Lester's first visit to our home began our education on what we wanted in new bathrooms. He not only took notes like all the vendors who provided estimates, but he explained how some customization was possible and why some things could/couldn't work. He was very forthcoming with information specific to our project. He gave us knowledge on which we could make decisions and we appreciated it. On the first day of work, the team showed up on time. They protected our home from their demolition work and maintained our home's cleanliness throughout the project. They provided us custom craftsmanship in each of our three bathrooms. Each member of the MHI team are craftsmen that pay strict attention to detail. Our bathrooms are reminiscent of Las Vegas hotel bathrooms! In fact, I recently stayed in an executive suite at a four star hotel in the DC area and found that my bathrooms were of a far superior quality and comfort. On top of all this, MHI completed the work ahead of schedule and under cost. This renovation was a completely positive experience for us and we are forever grateful to the MHI team for the way they improved our quality of life. If you get the chance, hire these guys.

It went well. They arrived on time for the estimate appointment. They worked quickly and I was impressed at how quickly and cleanly they were able to remove the mirrors. They did a great job with the repairs and painting. They were tidy and did a very professional job.

We had 4 estimates for painting of our new commercial office space and MHI was the first to complete their bid. We received the other bids days later, some of which were less, but we were crunched for time, so we selected MHI. I also selected them because they are local, and as a business owner, I always appreciate that. The job was completed in the estimated time frame and it's beautiful. I am a bit obsessive about very clean trim work, so when the owner sent an email asking about the finished product, I did mention that the trim work was not as finished as I had hoped. I told him that I was still very pleased, and that I would touch up the trim work on my own, but to my surprise, he still sent someone back out to touch up the trim work to my ultimate satisfaction. Thank you, Lester!

I called Lester based on a recommendation by a neighborhood list participant. What I asked for was referrals for a company that was reliable, high quality, and able to take recommendations from me. I got what I asked for. In June, we employed Lester's team to do the first bathroom. As mentioned above, it required retiling, replacing tub, new vanity and counter, paint, closet rehab. The room is beautiful. Their tiling work was excellent. They were timely, cleaned up, and actually exceeded my expectations. I found Lester to be visionary about what to do in certain situations. He listens when so many don't. Always accessible!!!! His team Daniel and Francisco were polite, friendly, and maintained a good work ethic. Lester made great recommendations for sources for heating vent adjustments, granite counters, cabinets and mirrors. In July, we went forward with the Master Bath using Lester's team. They again are proving themselves reliable, quality work, pleasant and friendly. I have no concerns about leaving them in the house without any of us there. They clean up after they finish for the day. This project required, removal of tub, construction of a tiled shower, new floor, vanity, toilet, counters, paint, etc. Basically a total rehab. What was astounding to me is that they found a way to work July 4 week in Washington when the weather was horrible to do the deconstruction when we were on vacation. A request I made but didn't expect it to happen. I commend their diligence and was a little concerned about impact on them. But they appeared to weather it well with lots of water... It wasn't an easy job. The room is almost complete and again the tiling work is wonderful, and all the suggestions we implemented make it clear it will be a much more useful bathroom, with more space, than I expected given it's size about 5.5' by 12. Kudos to Lester and his team. Lester stays in close contacts and has made suggestions worth taking action on.

Lester responded to my telephone request for a quote right away. He came the next day to give the quote. He was prompt and professional. He offered good suggestions for how to do the things we had in mind. He got us the quote within several days and scheduled the work for the next week. The men who did the work were also very professional. They got the work done in a timely manner with great attention to detail. When the guys pulled up our linoleum floor and the subfloor was not in good shape Lester was very thorough in his approach to fixing it and the end result was very solid. When we asked if Lester and his guys could come back to paint he was able to accommodate our schedule and the work was again first rate. The men were also very good about cleaning up when they were done. I would recommend McLean Home Improvement without reservation.

McLean Home Improvement LLC (the Company) responded very quickly to our request for an estimate that after exchanging views and clarifications was revised and agreed very fast. Although we have received several proposals, and McLean Home Improvement LLC bid was not the lowest, given our interaction with,and responses by Mr. Lester Garcia, the Owner and Manager, my wife and I felt confident that they were the right company for our needs. Given certain commitments, we have asked for a speedy completion of the work and the Company, made every effort to accommodate our request. The Company followed the agreed contract to the letter so clients are advised to clearly state what is the work they want, including specific details. To avoid any changes of heart, the Company prefers clients to provide painting. Mr. Garcia is a dedicated professional, and very proud of his work. Also, the workers were very professional, moved heavy furniture and organized tasks according to our requests. Overall, they have done a very good and clean job. We would hire again if needed.
