We got a very fair estimate from McLean Home Improvement after receiving one from another contractor for twice as much! We hired them and they came out the following weekend and proceeded to paint two bedrooms. The painters from McLean Home Improvement did an excellent job. The workers were prompt, courteous and did the job in one day. They painted the ceilings, trim, walls and doors using paint I bought and also using an accent color on certain walls. The original estimate we received was $750.00. But because I myself had performed the spackling of holes which I did kind of heavy-handed, they had to spend more time sanding. I misunderstood them when they said they did the spackling themselves and much quicker. So I agreed to pay them $800.00 for the extra time they needed to sand the walls which thought was fair. I would hired them again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their interior painted. They finished the job in one day. Were in by 9:00 a.m. and done by around 7:00 p.m. Excellent work. I couldn't be happier.

I purchased their special deal on painting and Lester contacted me the next day to schedule a time to meet with me prior to the starting the project. He was on time and very professional. They did an excellent job of painting the rooms as well as cleaning up afterward. I would definitely consider them for future home improvement projects.

Great experience! I met with Lester earlier in the week for a walkthrough and we came to an agreement on the price. Lester and his team arrived on time Saturday morning and immediately got to work. I was in and out throughout the day and each time I came back I was plesently surprised with how well it was coming along. In addition, Lester was able to go through some of the other rooms with me and discuss quotes on some other projects I would like to get done in the near future. They completed the job in one day and it looks great. Start to finish, it was an excellent experience. I plan on calling Lester first the next time I have any home remodelling to do and recommend McLean Home Improvement LLC. to anyone that wants work done on their house.

The team from McLean arrived promptly and began work. The walls they were working on were previously painted very saturated colors, so they began by applying primer and then two coats of paint. Even though I had purchased the wrong paint (I should have purchased some white matte as well so the base color wouldn't show through), they were able to successfully paint one room without it showing through at all. The second room, however, did show through. Lester and the team, upon hearing that I was unsatisfied, quickly adjusted their schedules and came out to apply a new coat of paint. A few hours later, the entire room was painted to my satisfaction. Truly outstanding customer service from the team at McLean.

The day after I purchased the Angie's List Coupon from McLean Home Improvements, I called Lester to set up an appointment. He came out that very day and arranged to do the work the following week. They completed the painting in one day as promised. Lester was very up front about charges and there were no surprises. We were very happy with their services.

A totally stress free experience. Lester really knows what he's doing and is extremely competent and completely flexible and easy to work with. His crew comes each day, works all day and cleans up after themselves at night. They are very skilled and professional, and completed every aspect of the project on schedule and to our complete satisfaction. We will definitely use his company again and will recommend him to neighbors and friends. Lester is a truly nice and honest person and it was a pleasure to work with him.

This was a rescue job. My wife and I started the remodel of our guest bath and got all the way through the demo. Installing the new cast iron tub with the associated plumbing was more than I wanted to tackle, so I put the job up for bid on bidwork.com. Lester Garcia of McLean Home Improvement was one of 5 bidders for the job. We decided to go with him because he was A-rated on Angie's List and because the write-ups for his work were so detailed in their descriptions of the quality of his workmanship and the extra care he took to clean up the job area. It also helped that Lester's price for this work was about half of what Home Depot's contractors wanted. Lester and his assistant arrived exactly when he said they would. I showed Lester the bathroom and gave him the claim ticket to pick up the tub. A short while later, they returned with the tub and got to work. Within a few hours, they had muscled a 400 lb bathtub upstairs, placed it, replaced and connected the drain, and replaced the faucet. Both Lester and his assistant were very careful not to damage anything - the tub, doors, walls, stairs, runner, or banister. Once the tub was moved, they spread drop cloths from the front door all the way up the stairs to the bathroom door. I was impressed with the respect they showed for our home. When he first arrived Monday morning, I asked Lester to give me quote for doing the drywall. By the time they finished the tub install, Lester had his estimate and we agreed that he would put up the wallboard and get the floor ready for tiling. I expected him to come back another day, but he said they could get started that day and he could schedule us around other jobs he had in progress. By Wednesday evening, we had cement board around the shower surround, moisture-resistant drywall on the rest of the walls, a niche built into the shower wall, an opening cut for a medicine cabinet, a new electrical box for the vanity lights, Ditra on the floor, and a new door. The walls were taped, mudded, sanded and ready for primer. Every penetration in the wallboard was neat and professional looking - no jagged edges or wide gaps - even where face plates will eventually go. When the work was done, they cleaned up all the debris, collected the drop cloths, and cleaned up the little pieces the drop cloths didn't catch. We were so impressed with Lester's work and previous work he has done for other clients based on pictures he showed us, we've asked him to come back do the tiling. Another kudo for Lester is his willingness to take on this job as a partial remodel. We originally intended to do most of the work ourselves, but lack of time to work on it coupled with lack of experience made everything take longer and seem harder. Lester accepted the first part of this job as a small piece of the overall remodeling effort where others we talked to were only interested in complete jobs. After watching Lester work, it became apparent to us that we should ask him to do more. We will still do some of the remaining work - painting, installing lights and medicine cabinets, placing and plumbing-in the vanity and toilet, but Lester is coming back to do the tile, beadboard, and trim work. We can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and look forward to the day very soon when we will have a beautiful, functional bathroom.

Lester was referred by a good friend and I was able to see the excellent work he did renovating my friend's place before I contacted him. We set up a time to discuss our bathroom project and for him to do measurements for an estimate. He sent the estimate over email soon after and we negotiated a lower price than the quote. His crew started the bathroom project when they said they would and completed it on-time. The deck and backsplash project went smoothly also, a few months later. Lester was very diligent and continuously checked in with us, asking for detailed feedback so that the job would correspond to our expectations. He was easy to get a hold of when we needed to before, during and after the projects. We even had a slight minor problem a few weeks after the bathroom was completed and he came out, found the source of the problem and fixed it free of charge and in a prompt manner. He is a professional and has great pride in his customer service and his product.

I contacted MHI via the Angie's list quick contact feature Thursday morning and received a response from Lester a short time later (within an hour). He came to the house later that morning to examine our situation (water damaged drywall in the basement that needed repair). He made the suggestion to install a new type of access panel ( we had a home made one that had become damaged for the main cutoff and clean-out and for the pressure reduction valve, we had just had an opening in the drywall). He described the repair that they would perform including matching the existing paint and gave me a total price for labor and materials and told me they could start the next morning. The next morning, they showed up on time and spread tarps on the floor from the door to the site of the repair and downstairs to keep the place clean. They got to work right away. After repairing the drywall with a fast drying compound, they used a heat gun to speed the drying and prepare for finishing and painting. The work was done on-time, as agreed, and the result was even better looking, with the new flush access panels and paint, than I expected. I took pictures before, during and after the repair. Maybe there is some way to attach these.

We began with a small budget and the need to have nearly a complete remodel of the master bathroom. It was ten years old and the tiling was beginning to fall apart. We contacted several contractors for quotes, and Lester was the very first one to return with a time to come by for an estimate. He came by at our convenience and made a thorough effort to understand our priorities and budget constraints. From this first interaction, Lester was aggressive in offering suggestions as to how we could save money on materials and labor - a trait that definitely sets him apart from his competitors. He took careful measurements of the bathroom, discussed multiple options for materials, and had a quote to me in two days. The estimate was right where we needed it to be, and Lester had found a way for us to save money on the floor tiling that allowed us to install a brand new granite counter top. That suggestion alone made the remodel a success. Lester and his team tackled the master bathroom the next week and worked hard to keep our house as free of dust as possible by covering our furniture with plastic sheeting and running ground covering throughout the house. We really appreciated this. His staff was polite, knowledgeable, and talented in their craft. The shower tiling, in particular, required careful attention to detail and came out looking perfect. We were so impressed by the early efforts that we hired them to paint and tile the half-bathroom downstairs. They completed this in two days, and it makes all the difference downstairs. Lester was prompt in responding to emails and phone calls, and was very quick to remedy the small follow-up tasks that are typical to any remodel (i.e. touch-up painting, tile repair, etc.). We will likely hire McLean Home Improvement again to tackle our kitchen. Highly recommended!

The job was quite challanging considering the short timeframe required for completion. Lester remodeled a bathroom (including tile, new lighting, paint and vanity), tore all the old insulation out of the attic, re-insulated, floored, framed and dry-walled the attic, painted an entire four bedroom house and brought in an electrician on short notice to accomplish some last minute electrical work all within two weeks. He was at the house day and night, week days and weekends working to get my project done on time. The deadline was Thanksgiving Day and Lester personally spent 16 hours with me the night before finishing the job. We literally wrapped up at 7:30am Thanksgiving day. Thanks to Lester, we were able to move in the next day as planned. I look forward to using MHI again in the future and have already referred them to other friends.
