I ordered a carrara (spelling?) marble vanity top for a sink in an old bathroom. Old in the sense that the vanity is narrower than what is standard today. They read the instructions from the vanity manufacturer and said (correctly) I needed a smaller sink than called for by the manufacturer, 7.5" vs. 8.5". A very nice call but due to the narrow depth of the sink even smaller (if it's available), 7", would have been better. I said I wanted to pick out the marble but they selected it (it is a small piece) -I would have preferred something with more white in it. I also wanted a non-standard, curved back and side pieces on both sides. They weren't sure it was a good idea since no one does it like that; I gave them a drawing to scale but that disappeared. that result was, all and all nicely done but not the arch I would have liked. I had selected the 'ogi' (again not sure on spelling), which curves down, for the edges; the man came out to take the measurements said that I ought to get a staight cut; I said that I agreed and to please do so. Obviously I needed to have followed up because it came with the ogi cut around the edge and bowl. the problem with that cut is that it doesn't allow sufficient room for the faucet (due to the 18" depth) so it hangs out over the bowl a little bit. And because even the 7.5" bowl was almost too large for the vanity, he had some trouble installing it. Also, he cut the faucet holes centered on the sink but by doing so, meant that the cold water handle is pretty much under a ceramic cup holder ( I am certain that he was aware of the non-symmetrical-ness when he took measurements). So what I'm trying to say is that I think the craftmanship is fine - I don't have experience of marble in my house - but I was disappointed in the darker color of the marble (than what I was looking at at their shop) and most definitely in the ogi cut. So yes, I had ordered it but it was suggested that I use something else. I realize that the color is based on what comes in (but it was several months between ordering it and installation). The workmanship seems very good. They showed up when they said they would - and I'm not talking a range of hours, I mean they showed up within minutes, during the height of rush hour.
Description of Work: They cut a marble top to order to fit on a new vanity.

We dealt with the owner of Pyramid Graphite when we arrived on site at his company business one Saturday, and we were immediately assisted. He pointed out all the different types of graphite, which ones were on promotional discount, and which ones were popular by customer demand. He was very patient with us and gave his recommendations when asked as we walked through the warehouse, back and forth between 3-4 designs of which we were trying to decide on. We returned later in the week, decided on a product (peacock green), provided 50% discount, and soon thereafter had an estimator come to our home for measurements, which were very close to the measurements my husband provided with a sketch. Within only a few business days, the product was cut to measurement and delivered. After removing the older counters and replacing/glueing the new granite which weighed a ton, they were here for only around 3 hours. The owner was on site with a few other workers; hard working. The granite is beautiful and great quality, precise installation. Would recommend to a friend.
Description of Work: Granite countertop with 5" backsplash on kitchen counters and on the ledge of the window that is cut out of the wall between the kitchen and living room. Granite was peacock green, with half bull nose edging. Includes new undermount sink.

They would not give me an estimate until I went to their warehouse and picked out the granite. I ended up going with a different company. The company representative that came to provide estimate did not provide any information regarding cost or procedures. He only drew diagram of counters. He would not tell us anything regarding the project. The following week the company called to find out if we had selected the granite. By this time we had received other bids and had made our decision.
Description of Work: We did not select this company to do our project.

Pyramid granite did a great job on our granite. Tsogo and Bat were wonderful to work with. We wanted Typhoon Bordeaux and could not find a slab that we liked. Tsogo kept searching different distributors until he found us the perfect granite (it was amazing :) We worked with them to firgure out the layouts and the install was fast. I am looking forward to working with them again for my bath remodel.

The workmanship on the repair is top-notch. You can't even tell that there was a chip on the grainte. I have to literally bend down and look real hard to figure out where the chip was.
Description of Work: We are so relieved to have read the Angie's List reviews and found this company. We had a small chip on our kitchen countertop granite, on the beveled edge, and a bathroom granite top that was fading in color (from blue to gray) on the back edge under the faucet spout. So what does one do when there is a repair need for granite? Of course, you call the company from which you bought the granite, hoping they'd take care of you. Well, when I did this, the company that did my job three years ago wasn't very helpful. They said they don't really handle repairs and repair on a beveled edge is difficult, but because I was their customer, they would do it for a $265 minimum service charge. And they would have to get back to me as to when, exactly how much, etc. Disappointed, I fired up Angie's List and read and read reviews. Based on positive reviews of their service, I called Pyramid on Saturday. They sent someone to my house on Monday (so it took one business day to respond and do the job) and completed the repairs. The repair job looks so good that you'd never know there was a chip or faded edges. I am so happy with their work and customer service that I will definitely go to them for my next countertop work.

We were very happy with the entire process of getting new counter tops. Pyramid Granite has a large selection of granite in their warehouse. They had sample kitchen cabinet doors in all colors that you can use to walk around warehouse. The sales staff was helpful but not at all pushy. We decided on a granite on Saturday, a person came to our home to measure, and the job by done by the following Friday. In 2 hours the new counters were installed perfectly and look amazing. Pyramid Granite recommended a plumber who showed up at the same time to reconnect all the plumbing. He was the most professional plumber we have ever dealt with. Pyramid Granite's prices are fair and they will throw in a sink and faucet depending on how many square feet you get. We would definitely use them again.

I had a great experience with Pyramid Granite from start to finish. They were very patient with me, as I visited their showroom at least six times trying to decide on the granite color. The staff at Pyramid, including the owner of the company, provided their expertise every step of the way and the final design was superb. I feel I received good bang for my buck and would use this company again. I also have to mention that the installers showed up on time and were very professional and personable. They worked very neatly and were very careful while working inside my home. You will be very happy if you use this company!

We had a pleasant and stress-free experience with Pyramid Granite. They have a good selection of granite slabs to choose from at the warehouse, and the salesperson, Jorge, was helpful but not overly pushy. The prices were reasonable - we ordered "exotic" granite for $54/sq ft installed, but they also had less expensive options - more of a plain look for $44/sq ft. Their quote for exotic granite was about 50% less than other fabricators we considered. Pyramid cuts out the middleman - they sell the granite and install it for you, this helps to keep prices low. They threw in a sink, faucet, soap dispenser and cutting board for free. The timeline was quick too - picked out and put a deposit down on a slab of granite, and it was installed within a week. The installation at our house took about half the estimated time. We are very satisfied with the experience - the granite and workmanship look great.

I first visited Pyramid based on reviews from Angie's List. The staff was friendly and helpful and not too pushy or "hard sell". The first visit was really to see their selection and compare price per square foot to other retailers on slabs I generally liked. I found their prices to be lower (up to $5/sq foot in some cases) compared to other companies. When I decided to hire Pyramid, I returned three more times to look at granite and take home samples. We finally selected a beautiful Laura Verde granite. We put down a deposit ($500.00) to hold two slabs until our contractor had the base cabinets installed so Pyramid could come to our home and measure. Measurement was scheduled. Jorge arrived on time as scheduled and thoroughly measured the space. After he left, our contractor discovered the need to push the center peninsula out about 2 inches due a plumbing issue. We called Jorge back and he made the appropriate changes. Installation occured at the scheduled date and time without issue. I was very concerned that the change in measurement for the penisula granite would not be correct since we did this over the phone. It fit perfectly!! My only issue during the install was that the crew did not speak English. One member spoke broken English and at times I felt like there was a communication gap. He indicated he needed cut a portion of the drywall to install. I understood him to mean that he would probably knick/dent part of the drywall due to the tight space. Instead, he took a screwdriver and literally chiseled out a section of the wall along the horizontal line of the granite. I never fully understood the need for this as the granite appeared to align well with the wall. Ultimately, my contractor fixed the wall damage at no extra cost as part of painting the kitchen. I also liked their price structure: A deposit to hold the granite slab, a percent due at time of measurement and balance due at time of installation. In the end, our granite looks amazing!! And my overall experience with Pyramid was positive. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: A complete kitchen renovation that included the installation of new granite countertops. I visited approximately 4 different retailers and decided to use Pyramid due to price, customer service and quality/selection.

We used Pyramid Granite based on their very high marks on Angie'sList, and we couldn't be happier. It was possibly the best experience I've ever had with a service provider. They were extremely helpful at the showroom and set up an appointment within two days to take measurements for an estimate. We recieved the estimate the very next day and were pleasantly amazed at the price quote. It just got better from there. When we went back by the showroom to accept the quote and set-up an install date, they revised the quote downward and added some additional items at no charge. For installations, their weekends were booked for the next month, but when I told them my wife and I both worked during the week, they said they'd work something out. The next day they called and said they'd be out that Saturday morning. The installation went incredibly smooth; the crew was very polite and willing to go out of their way; and the plumber even installed a new garbage disposal for us when he installed the sink and faucet.

We went to the business on our lunch hour. I picked out the granite put down a 50% deposit - set up an appointment for measuring our island. An installer stopped by the following Monday to measure - made a few adjustments to our original measurements. We went and ordered the cooktop that following weekend. They were available to install the next week. They came to the house took measurements off the cooktop cut it in the carport. Came back in and made adjustments to our cabinets to allow it to fit and then installed the countertop. It is beautiful and we will be going back to get additional granite for the rest of our remodeling job in the kitchen! Very professional and excellent work. The whole process was easy and wonderful. I highly recommend this company.

Pyramid was by far the cheapest of several quotes that I received. For that cheap price, you don't get as much hand-holding, but they provided the piece of granite that I selected and did a good enough job of cutting and installing. They did make an error originally that required them to return the next day. Originally they were going to leave us without a kitchen sink fro the night, but when I complained they agreed to return and hook up the sink and they also credited us about $200 of the cost for the disruption. Bottom line is they're a great value and lived up to their commitments.

Response from Pyramid Granite LLC
I'm glad that not only the error was corrected promptly (with granite job next day's considered very fast!), but also we were able to offer compensation for that! We did use customer's selection and did good job as far as installing and finishing up the job! Unfortunately accidents and mistake happens in life! Even though it happens with us rarely, we do our best to take care of that the soonest! Bottom line is we always make our clients satisfied and that is important!!!

I cannot recommend them highly enough! The work was quoted accurately, and the quality of materials was excellent (I bought my own disposal for them to install, but they brought everything else). The installers arrived on time, removed all of my old materials, and put everything in in less than 4 hours. They were very pleasant, cleaned up completely, and did exactly what they said they would do.

We picked a marble out of a large selection, with advice on suitability from this dealer. We gave them a pattern customized by my husband, who had designed the special curved vanity, as well as specifications for other pieces for the shower. They fabricated all the pieces exactly as we had specified, in two weeks, brought them in and installed all very professionally. We plan to have them fabricate our kitchen counters when we are ready for that.

Overall it was okay. The sales process was great and easy. Jorge is fantastic. The cloudy spot was with the installers. They were obviously tired and I would assumed overworked which effected the quality of their work. When I asked them to fix this or that, they attempted to push back each time rather than fix the issue. For example, the right corner of the bath counter top was round while the left corner was square. I asked them to round off the left side so it matched to which he asked why. I explained I wanted it to match. He said he would have to take it outside, I said fine, do what you need to do. Another example was when they wanted to use white caulking on the beige/brown granite. I explained that I wanted the almond because it looked much better. He said well I don't have enough. I invited him to hop down to Home Depot up the street in order to get the necessary tools to complete the job. He was able to find more from some where. Because of the price and Jorge I would recommend Pyramid to others. But I strongly suggest you watch the installers every step of the way and if there is anything you do not like, speak up. If they can get away with doing whatever is easier for them, they will.

Pyramid did a very good job for us. They had a good selection of marble on hand for my client to choose from and marked the specific section of the slab that the client wanted. The price was slightly less expensive than the competition and they fabricated and installed the top doing nice cutouts for the sink and faucet. The standard edge finish was done well on both top and bottom sides of the slab. They mounted and sealed the undermount sink (that we provided) for us. Thy are also willing to sell partial slabs which most of their competitors are not. For our job we only needed 7 sq. feet of marble and unless they happen to have a remnant on hand, most stone fabricators are not willing to cut and sell a partial slab - Pyramid will and this makes a big difference for us when we have bathroom projects.

They arrived a little early and set up promptly. The four workers were experienced and organized. They first disconnected the electrical, gas and plumbing. They removed the old countertop and sink. Tarps were laid down to protect the floor. They then remeasured all areas and fine tuned the granite edges while ouside. Pieces were brought in and completed one at a time. When they brought in the island and sink pieces the openings were cut while in place to assure a perfect fit. At times it was noisy and dirty, but necessary for proper installation. The two seams necessary because of the size of the countertop, were virtually invisible. After everything was completed, they sealed the granite and cleaned up. Some instructions were given for care and future sealing in 6 months. No damage occurred in the kitchen. The granite is beautiful and I'm sure increased the value of our home.

We were a bit disappointed at the miss-cut piece, especially as we selected a particular piece of the granite for its pattern, which was not replicated elsewhere in the remnant. I would generally say they are very good/timely, but I would be careful to give precise measurements, and have a back up plan if that piece of granite doesn't work out. In the end, we are happy with how our sink-top looks. P.S. In the spring of 2011, we again bought a remnant for a bathroom sink countertop. They cut it and finished it well, and installed an undermount sink. We were very pleased. We would use them again.
Description of Work: We selected a remnant, from a number of pieces of granite, for our bathroom sink countertop. We worked with one of the managers of Pyramid Granite to determine dimensions. However, when we returned to pick up the countertop, it was lovely, but 1/2 an inch shorter than we had asked for. They offered to cut us another sink top, but the problem was that we had selected a particular area of the granite, for its pattern, to go in the bathroom, and that pattern wasn't repeated anywhere else. It took us a while to decide what to do, and they were very patient with us. We took the smaller sink top, and it was a bit of a problem, as we were installing it in an unusual space, but we managed to make it work. They did discount the price. Everyone there was very nice and professional. We just wish the too-small cut issue hadn't arisen. They did their best to make it right.

The bottom line was that they did a wonderful job. The difficulty was, it took them three tries and the installer tried to talk me into taking a less than adequate counter top. They really tried to talk me out of their attempting the third time and it would have meant that there would have been all sorts of gaps. First they told me it couldn?t be done because the wall wasn?t square. It took a lot of talking and they measured it twice. They were nice about it and they did it. It took a lot of effort and determination on my part to get it right. Their price was excellent.

The job turned out nice but only because i was there during installation. The walls aren't even and the installers were just going to caulk the backsplash onto the wall without making any adjustments. This would have left large gaps to be filled in w. caulk. I asked them to trim the sheetrock so the backsplash would fit tighter against the wall. They balked at first but then did it. It turned out great but only because I pushed them to do it. Also, we were told we'd be able to define how the stone was to be cut but they cut it withont contacting us. The stone is pretty uniform so it didn't make a difference but they should have followed up as promised

Response from Pyramid Granite LLC
The job was done back in March 2009. At the time we didn't hear from the client, but we're happy that everything turned out nicely! If something goes wrong (this is life and things happen sometimes!) we always make sure that it's taken care of! We DO CARE about all our clients, no matter what size is the job! At "Pyramid Granite" we do realize that people pay money to get what they want, not what a fabricator gets done!! Happy client Happy Pyramid :)
