+ 0 moreThe project went as planned and was completed in a professional manner and lightly earlier than expected. Bob and his crew were very courteous and cleaned the site/hauled away the debris as the work went on.
Description of Work: Bob, his wife, and another helper removed partial wall between the kitchen and family room, enlarged and framed the new opening, and prepared it for painting. They also completely removed old paneling on the back wall of family room around the fireplace and replaced the paneling with a Sheetrock wall, ready for painting. Finally, they repaired edging around the bay window in the breakfast nook. Bob also advised what was needed as far as the material and transported the material from the store in his vehicle. The price included labor only.

Description of Work: Bob and his wife Caroline did several small projects for me. They fixed my front door, which was not closing correctly, installed a mailbox and post, repaired another door and installed a toilet seat.

They were very accommodating and ensured that the work was done correctly. They are knowledgeable about home repair. They take pride in what they do and provide great customer service. I would definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: Replaced boards on deck, painted trim on back of house, cleaned and installed a cover for a dryer vent, installed a storm door, water-sealed deck, installed peephole in front door.

+ 5 moreI joined Angie's List hoping to find someone like Bob, and I hit the jackpot! I cannot speak highly enough about him and his wife Carolyn (who works with him) and the work they do. They are professional, reliable, honest, and incredibly hard working. Also easy to talk to and fun. I was very comfortable working with them. My experience was so positive I would give an A+ if I could. I'm already planning their next project.
Description of Work: Bathroom repair and renovation. Checked attic for possible leaks; repaired damaged drywall. Replaced faulty plumbing, installed new bath and shower fixtures, which required removing drywall from the other side of the wall to repair. (Drywall was repaired and wall repainted. Looks good as new.) Installed new faucets. Installed new floor including moldings. Removed old toilet and installed new one. Removed old medicine cabinet and installed new one. Painted bathroom and installed towel racks, paper holder, shower rod etc. Removed old light fixture and installed new one. Scraped and cleaned bathroom tiles. This was a big job and was completed in 2 1/2 days!

He worked on days that fit in with other contractors working at my rental property on other jobs, and in sync with a tight schedule to allow new tenants to move in on time. He worked quickly and efficiently, getting the job done and making useful suggestions to my original plans and solving unexpected problems, without cutting corners or ''add ons'' to the original price estimate. Excellent job was done. I will call on him often, though I know he will be in high demand.
Description of Work: He removed old and installed 14 LF of new kitchen countertops, along with new sink, disposal plus supply lines/shutoff values; moved electrical outlet; removed and installed new bathroom vanity, sink, toilet, and bathtub faucets and shower head along with diverter valve and supply lines/shut off valves for sink & toilet.

His wife did the painting in the bedroom, and he patched and painted the wall in the basement. Both excellent jobs -- plus they gave me the tip to use Kilz spray primer to cover up water spots in ceiling tiles. Work was done quickly and exactly on time at a reason price.
Description of Work: Scrapped, primed and painted with textured paint bedroom ceiling; repaired holes in drywall and primed/painted wall in basement.

He arrived with his helper (wife) on time and did the work so fast that I could not believe they were actually finished, but yes, they did the work and it was great. I was a little unsure about hiring a stranger to do work around the house with just me and my daughter in the house at the time, so having his wife there eased my mind immediately. They are both great, do great work, and work great together.
Description of Work: They installed a light fixture, mirror, two towel bars, and toilet in bathroom.

+ -1 moreBob the handyman did a super job. He came and gave me an estimate and scheduled me for about two weeks later. He arrived when he said he would, and was quick and neat. He cleaned up the area afterwards and even took the dirty paintbrush water with him. He said he used to build houses and seemed very knowledgeable. He plugged up a couple of old nail holes in my siding that I didn't even know were there. I was completely satisfied and would definitely call him again.
Description of Work: Scraped and painted the wood trim on my townhouse. On the back of the townhouse some of what he painted was up under the roof and was more than three stories high.

Then, he called to say that he could actually come out earlier than we had agreed, and he and his wife came out and worked from 11 AM to 5 PM. They brought all their tools, worked outside to fashion the two new drawers. He added a special wood tape to the edges of the shelf that looks great. He was very polite, the work was very well done, the price was quite fair, and I am going to ask his help with our new floor in the kitchen. Definitely a good find.
Description of Work: He replaced 36 hinges on our kitchen cabinets. Fashioned two drawers in the front of one cabinet. Replaced two faulty shelves in a wall cabinet. Repaired a sagging bottom in one floor cabinet. Installed a shelf to accommodate our microwave.
