The windows and door were installed in three hours and the job was completed professionally. The windows perfectly matched the other windows in the house and the storm door made the front entrance look very nice! We learned about the company at a home show we visited in our area back in February 2015. One of the windows replaced would not stay open. The new windows open very easy and are double paned, which is an upgrade! The second window replaced was in the basement and there was always a draft. Now there is no draft and again is very easy to open and close.

This company gets people's phone numbers and will not stop calling and harassing them. They apparently keep changing there name and call from multiple numbers to make it hard for you to block them. I would not do business with them.

Contacted me right away and set up appointment, wanted me to make sure all decision makers were there. (learned in the business this is called "one and done). I said I could not get my spouse there on a weekday and they were insistent. They canceled the appointment, and said for me to call them when I could get both of us there. I didn't. They called again. from a lead sheet, they asked if I needed doors windows, or insulation. I said, No I had gotten someone else. They keep calling, I ask them not to call, they keep calling. From a lead call center, they keep calling. I got a call yesterday, pushy guy, I try to be nice. Pushes me to set up an appointment. I don't ,. got call today, say please don't call me. I get a call not 30 seconds later, from another sales person. I ask, how can I get you all to stop calling me? She says, well set up an appointment and we can stop calling? I said, how about I report you to the contractors board, she hangs up quickly.

Finalizing the contract and installing the insulation went very well. The installation took about an hour or two, the installers were on time and reasonably tidy. However, about a month later, I noticed an approximate four foot square hot spot on our roof during snow melt in February. When I did my taxes, I noted that I could deduct the cost of materials for this job. I contacted the company via the representative I met with when doing the original estimate. He said to send him an e-mail about the matter and he would get the cost of materials for me. I sent the e-mail, but never heard back - it's been over two weeks now. Finally, another representative appeared at my door in late March to do a follow-up survey and inspection. He checked in the attic about the hotspot, but could see nothing that might be the cause. I told him about the tax deduction of materials and he said he would check and try to get the information sent to me. However, if I didn't receive anything by the time I had to file, to simply assume that 1/2 of the cost was for materials. To date, I have not heard back from HCR. I would recommend the company to provide attic insulation, but find it difficult to give them a high rating given their inability to provide the information I need to file my taxes. I was told that the insulation would lower my heating and cooling bills and improve the temperature in the upper floor of our townhouse. We have an automatic thermostat that has been set the same for the last several years. I did a detailed analysis of our heating expenses comparing therms used per heating degree days (HDDs) for two months (January & February) of 2014 with 2015 and found that my adjusted heating expenses actually increased slightly after the insulation was installed. I understand that there are likely other factors involved that I can't adjust for, but am still surprised to find that my heating expenses actually increased. Regardless, the temperature on our upper floor is about three degrees higher now than it used to be which is a definite plus during the winter. So, I'm somewhat satisfied with my decision to have the insulation installed.

I was nervous at first to have my windows replaced on a cold winter day. I believe the weather report said it was in the high teens that day. I had tried to postpone due to the weather but decided to suck it up as the crew was already in route. When the team arrived I was asked to show them the locations of the windows that needed to be replaced, he wanted to double the check the measurements before they started. I removed my shoes to begin the tour, I took notice that the gentlemen also respected my home rule, without being asked he removed his also. We went around the home and remeasured, satisfied that all the window measurements were correct they began to work. I was fortunate enough to work from home that day so I was able to observe how the crew worked. From the moment they arrived at 9 am and when they left 5pm they worked hard and efficiently. The team laid down a brown canvas in the areas there were moving and working as to not leave mess or scratch up my wood floors. Despite the frigid temperatures outside they took their time cutting and wrapping the aluminum, which looks great by the way. I did notice a dent on the aluminum wrap but you have to look very hard to see them. There was a slight communication barrier but that never became an issue. The entire time the crew was extremely professional, courteous and respectful towards myself and my home. I had to offer the gentlemen a glass of water at least three times before they finally caved in and took it. When the crew was packing up I was asked to do a final inspection. I noticed they had vacuumed the areas they worked and cleaned all the windows. On close inspection I saw one of the new windows had a small scratch on the inside of the glass and made note of it. The crew member took a picture and told me to call the office to have it replaced (which I did but have not heard back from them yet). I have to say everything looked great, the caulking around the molding and windows looked clean. The color of the aluminum wrap matched the home well so the HOA wont come knocking on my door. The crew did a great job cleaning the areas around the home and avoided damaging the plants. In the end, I would highly recommend HCR for window replacement and would easily recommend them to anyone. I will write another review when they replace our gutters in the spring.

We were very pleased with HCR. The customer service was excellent. We had one contact person, Glen Wadlow who was very attentive, and prompt to respond to all of our questions. He listened to all of our needs and concerns, and delivered, exactly what was promised. The roof was placed in one day. The contractors came out on time, did the work, and cleaned up after themselves. We were very happy with the work, and would highly recommend HCR Home Custom Remodeling.
