The actual movers were excellent! They worked really hard and wished they were able to do more to help out. This was a rush move that had to be contracted in 10 days and we knew zero about what was involved in a move. Although the initial contact person was excellent to talk with, ways to determine what is involved in the move need to be reassessed. The onsite visits should be mandatory rather than gauging move size by the number of beds and sofas. We moved all of our clothing, electronics, and my collectibles, which involved getting two additional daily truck rentals and day laborers because the truck contracted was not large enough. Wound up leaving my large capacity washer and dryer and dining room furniture behind. The move was more traumatic than it needed to be. It was also more expensive than it needed to be even though we expected it to be very expensive. To be fair, the short time frame contributed to some of this on both sides.

This was a terrific experience -- excellent service, good skills and an all around fabulous job -- which, by the way, entailed loading a truck full of office furniture (heavy stuff), delivering some of the loaded items to one location and delivering the rest to my home garage. All of it was well done -- honestly, I can say enough good about these movers and this company. I highly recommend.

Showed up late, lost our telephone contact and forgot they had my email address. We lived in a high rise where we had to schedule the freight elevator, they showed up 15 minutes before our reserved time was up. Stressful and disappointing. I will say though that they did follow up afterwards and gave me half a refund for the poor experience, I do appreciate that.

This review is in three parts. The short version is this: 1. The moving crew was fantastic. No complaints. 2. The office worker, Susan, that I dealt with to get an estimate severely underestimated the amount of time the move would take by 4 hours (it took 12 instead of 8), the amount of packing material needed and the price I would pay. Then blamed me for it. 3. I will not be using Randall Movers in the future. The Arrangement: 1. I used Angies list to look for movers. Susan was one of the first to call. In the course of talking about the move I asked if she would like to send someone to look at the apartment in order to get an accurate estimate. She said it was not necessary, she could do it over the phone if I told her what I had to move. I told her as accurately as I could. She estimated an 8-hour job with four guys at $2000 including labor, $2500 at most, and she said she would email the estimate. She never sent the initial estimate even after I called her. The other company that called ASKED me if they could send someone over to do the estimate. I agreed and they estimated an 8-hour job with 4 guys at just over $3600 including labor. During this walk-through I realized I did not tell Susan about ten 50 pound buckets of wheat. I called her and she said she would revise the estimate and email it to me. She did, and it was $2025 including labor with the price of packing TBD. Due to some difficulties with my old apartment managers office I had to move the original moving date from a Thursday to a Sunday. I spoke to a male employee at Randalls about the date, as Susan was not in the office that day, and he said it was no problem. I decided to go with Randall Moving because it was nearly $1600 less. The Move: 2. The moving team was excellent. There was Philip, Will, Benny, Nate and Clarence (team lead) and they worked their tails off. They arrived a little late because Susan gave them the wrong address. They walked through the apartment to get an idea of the job size, and the first words out of their mouths was, We need more packing materiel. They started packing and Clarence called Susan to tell her they needed more packing material. Clarence tells me Susan recommended I go to the nearest Home Depot to buy more boxes. I called Susan to verify her recommendation. She explains that she was on her way home and would have to drive over an hour to get back to the office and besides, Home Depot boxes are cheaper than the ones we will charge you for . I told her I was not going to Home Depot and to bring more boxes. She did. After 6 hours the team took only one 30-minute break to eat, then worked another 6 hours. They never complained and never slowed down. When we got to the other apartment they placed all the furniture where I asked, reassembled the bed and cleaned up their mess. Exceptional job. Clarence did the paperwork and the total came out to over $3800.00. I called Susan two days later to complain that the charge was excessive. I requested $900 dollars be refunded. She said she would call me back in an hour. Ten to fifteen minutes later Susan calls back and proceeds to tell me it was all my fault because รข you knew exactly how much you had to pack and did not tell me, then accused me of trying to pull a stunt on her. She offered to reimburse the cost of the packing material, which was $647.00. I accepted and we mutually ended the call. About 10 minutes later Susan calls back to ask for my new apartment number in order to mail the refund check, which was on the paperwork Clarence filled out, and she should have known because I gave her the address and apartment number when I decided to go with Randall. Conclusion: Would I use Randall Movers again? Not while Susan is working there. The moving team was excellent, but I will not work with someone like Susan that blames me when she fails to do her job. Professional all the way. The guys did an amazing job and were so quick about it. Once they arrived, they went right to work and had my whole apartment loaded in under 2 hours, not to mention they did it in over 100 degree weather. Once we got to my new house, they unloaded and put everything exactly where we wanted. Highly recommend them over all other companies. They were almost $800 less the JK Moving and they did an awesome job!

They told us they would be there at about 1 oclock and finally arrived after 4.30. We were given an estimate of $500. to 550. when done they charged us $625. This was my first experience with helping my daugher to move and I cannot say that I was thrilled....sorry Dave G.
