I expected the Angie's List price to be a "teaser rate", however when Hew, the owner of the company arrived and did his walk-though, he only charged me an additional $27 for the stairs (one dollar per stair). Although the carpet wasn't in terrible condition, the stairs required extra attention. Hew cleaned the entire carpet better than we've ever had it before and left three fans to help expedite drying. I highly recommend this company and will use his services again.

He is bringing the rug back tomorrow. I am upset because it costs me $310 in the end to have my rug cleaned when I expected to spend just the $99. There was not anything in the fine print of the deal that said it would cost extra for a rug cleaning.

I like this company alot. They leave behind large air blowers in each room that speeds up the carpet drying process.

I had purchased the deal with the expectation that I could spend the $200 in services however I wanted, and went to their website to see how I could have 2 bedrooms cleaned and a sofa and loveseat cleaned. Apparently that was not how the deal worked out, and the company was very nice in making sure that I received a refund of my money.

He was ok. He wasn't very prompt. He didn't do as much as I expected for the price I paid.

Hew did a fantastic job and he did it all with a smile :) And he was nice to my dog. I would most certainly use him again in the future.

Hew's Carpet Care picked up my four area carpets, thoroughly cleaned them, stored them until our construction was done, then returned them promptly when we were ready. Pick up and drop off was scheduled and the schedule was respected. The carpets were returned in beautiful condition. No hesitation in recommending this company and of course I will use them again when its time.

Hugh arrived right at the agreed time, confirmed the deal's estimate for my family room and den. He then got right to work, moving the furniture himself and/or putting it on blocks. He worked quickly and efficiently and did a thorough job cleaning the carpet. He even cleaned the carpet on the stairs (1/2 flight) that was beyond the scope of the estimate at no additional cost. He was pleasant and knowledgeable and a hard worker.

Everything went exceptionally well. Very pleased with this company.

After calling Hew's Carpet for a free estimate, we felt comfortable to hire him based on the best price quote, professional personality and experience level. The appointment was scheduled for the following weekend. Hew's arrived and immediately started cleaning our carpet and removing stains. Blower fans where left overnight to ensure the carpet dried completely. After the carpet dried, my wife mentioned that there still seem to be a slight scent of dog urine. When Hew's called me the next day to check the status of my carpet, I told him about the slight urine scent. When Hew's returned, he gladly used another chemical spray to ensure urine smile was elimimated completely. Great job! I would recommend to others.

IWe have an old Turkish carpet that had been rolled up in the basement for awhile and was quite mildewy. They had to take it to their location to clean it. They don't use any harsh chemicals. It came back looking and smelling fresh. This company knows their stuff! Also had some cat urine spots in our downstairs carpeting. They got that cleaned up. There was a bit of a lingering odor but after the carpet dried out completely you can barely smell anything. I'll probably use this company again if I have any more rug issues. Don't remember what I paid for the service but believe I had an Angie's coupon so price was reasonable.

We recently inherited a Turkish rug. The rug itself was in very good condition, but dingy looking and the musty smell was so overwhelming that we couldn't even store it in the house until we had it cleaned. I called Hew's on New Year's Eve day and was pleasantly surprised that Hugh (owner) was able to come out later that day to pick up the rug. We agreed to a general timeframe for pick up and he called a few minutes before he actually arrived. We agreed that he would do cleaning and an additional odor treatment. Hew's actually ended up having to do several odor treatments, it was that bad. Once finished, Hugh called me to let me know that he could return the rug the next day. Again, he called me a few minutes before arrival to let me know that he was on his way. The rug looks fabulous! The colors look bright and new, and no smell! It's not fragranced, just fresh. We are so pleased. It means a lot to us to be able to incorporate this family heirloom into our home. It was a great value for the price paid vs. service received. I ended up paying a total of $100 for $150 in services, by purchasing an Angies List deal. The customer service was great, no surprises, and everything,was discussed up front.

Came when advertised - did good work - used them for three different properties. Always good service.

Whatever he did, he did a great job! I'm impressed with him. This was the first company we picked.

Hew's did a great job. He cut out the cat damaged area and fit in a piece from left over carpeting he had in his truck. It was not a 100% match, but was so much better than leaving it torn up with fibers hanging out of it. The patch is quite small (1" x 2") and the slight variation in color is hardly noticeable. He was prompt and the carpets looked great when he finished.

It worked out fine. They were in and out of here way too fast. I wouldn’t use them again. I think they were too fast to do a great job.

This was my second time using Hew's carpet cleaning service which is a recommendation itself since I wouldn't have used him again if I weren't satisfied with his work the first time. Hugh, the owner of the business, arrived promptly and did the work himself, just as he did the first time. Just like the first time, he arrived promptly. We had the family, dining and carpets cleaned and he made quick work of it. Something I really appreciate about Hugh is that he leaves electric blowers that allow the carpets to dry more quickly. When he returns to pick them up after the carpets dry, he makes that process pain-free too. He also points out any issues with the carpets and advises on how to address them. He's very professional, personable and respectful. I would recommend him to anyone. You won't be disappointed. And if you are, let him know. Because he's the type of businessman who will strive to make it right.

Hews Carpet Care arrived on time and did an excellent job. What more can you ask for? My son's carpet was quite messy from food spills and the like and it now looks great. I have used Hews Carpet Care once prior and will definitely use them again!! I highly recommend Hews Carpet Care.

Hugh is a one-man operation and his schedule can be thrown off, resulting in delays. His cleaning helped our carpet but not as much as hoped--but I think that says more about the carpeting in the house we just bought (We plan to replace now that we see a good cleaning doesn't help a ton). I used a coupon and expected him to charge us extra for the stairs but we under the Sq Ft limit so he did does that as part of the price--a nice gesture. He also left two of his fans with us overnight to speed drying. Not the fanciest equipment, but I was satisfied.

Great job! Had carpets cleaned in 3 bedrooms, hallway and on stairs. Several major pet stains....all of which were removed. Would definitely recommend and use again. Very professional, cleaned up and on time.

Hurricane Sandy resulted in a wet basement. As part of drying the basement, we needed to pull up the carpet and tear out some carpet pad. We hired Hugh to clean the carpet, replace carpet pad, and reinstall carpet. Hugh assured us that because we had pulled up the carpet early enough, it didn't need to be cleaned (saving us about $70) and proceeded to replace the pad and install the carpet. He was in and out in a couple of hours. This is the second time we have used Hew's Carpet Care.

I used this vendor because of the coupon special they provided. I purchased more than one, however the advertisement did not specify that the coupons could not be combined. Thus far I have not used all of my coupons, this is why I will use them again. The timeframe for the service was too long. Approximately five weeks went by to clean eight rugs. Throughout this period I had to initiate contact with the vendor to schedule pick-up, check on the status, and schedule delivery. This would be my major complaint. The explanation was that they had to spend a lot of time cleaning certain types of rugs and wanted to do a good job. I have no complaints about the actual cleaning, the rugs were returned cleaned. One other note, they did not want to receive payment by credit card, which I acquiesced to, but not my preference.
