Maid Bright

This is an updated review. Maid Bright did offer me a free cleaning to see if they could change my thoughts about their service. I do appreciate that, and they were professional throughout. However, I feel that, as detailed below, I gave them two additional chances (three total) to provide acceptable service and they did not. In addition, I could not allow a service to come into my home that attaches a client's full name to their house keys. I was told at the initial meeting that they do not do that, but when they showed up to the third attempt to clean, my full name was on my keys. I feel that is a serious security concern. So, while I appreciate that Maid Bright offered a free cleaning, I felt it would not have made me comfortable having them in my home I called a few housecleaning services to schedule monthly cleaning. Maid Bright was a bit more expensive than the other services, but based on the good reviews on Angie's list and the professionalism of the estimator, I hired them. I gave them two simple requests: don't remove the trash from the trash cans (the trash in my building is locked, so the can't take it out) and return the guest parking pass when they leave. Both of these requests were clearly written on the contract. Visit 1: The first cleaning they came. I got home, and the house was clean. However, the trash had been taken out of the trash cans and left on the kitchen floor. I cannot tell you how disgusting I find it to come home to a "clean house" only to have to re-clean the floors because the house cleaners have left trash on the floor all day. They also had taken my parking pass with them, which was a pain because I needed it the next weekend. I made two simple requests - both of which were written on the estimate and neither of which was carried out. I emailed them and they apologized and said they'd make a note of both requests again and someone brought my parking pass back the next day. OK, mistakes happen. Visit 2: After visit 1, they had emailed to confirm that I wanted monthly service and the dates. I emailed them back to say the schedule they laid out worked for me. Day of visit 2 came, but they didn't. I emailed them to ask what happened and they apologized for the inconvenience, saying they "actually never received your confirmation email". They offered to come the following Saturday. I said OK, great. I will note that later when I spoke to them, they said that they missed the cleaning because of hurricane Sandy (the cleaning was Nov. 13), then they later followed up with an email saying that they had "accidentally added [me] to a wrong date". So, I really don't know what happened or why they didn't show up. Visit 2, part 2: Flip to Saturday. They call the day before to confirm and give me a window. Good sign, right? I get home 45 minutes after the window had closed and no cleaning had been done and no cleaners were in sight. I had also not received a call or email telling me they would be late. They did finally show up about 30 minutes later. Usually I wouldn't know or care what time the team comes. But it was a Saturday and I had vacated my home to give them time to clean only to have them not show up on time. And they had provided substandard (or no) service the other two times I (tried) to have them clean. So, I asked for my keys back on the spot. I had only (tried to) have them come out to clean three times, and all three times they provided less than acceptable (or no) service. The only reason I didn't give them an F is that the one time they actually did come they did an OK job. One other disturbing issue is that when I got my keys back, they had my full name attached to them. They had assured me that they had some sort of number system so that if the keys got lost, they can't be identified as belonging to your house. I guess not. When I said this to them, they said that it was because they were working on Saturday this week and it was not my usual crew and that they had two cleanings with people with the same first name, so they had to put our names on the keys. It made no sense - if they use a number system, why would they need to put my whole first name on my keys. I will say that they did call to apologize on the following Monday. However, while these three things can happen, going 0 for 3 in your first three scheduled visits just gives me no confidence in your service.

They have been just fine. They are always prompt and consistent.

They always come when they are expected and they do exactly what they are supposed to do. They are very quiet. If I am not home, they just come in and complete the work. If I forgot to put the dogs up, they will put them in the basement for me. If the dog beds are a bit smelly, they will put them on the back porch to air. They are also very reasonable. My mother uses their services as well.

It goes well. The company calls and confirms with me the day before the cleaning and provide a two hour window. I always request to be the first stop and we always are. The ladies are professional and thorough every time.

The cleaning is very thorough - they even clean the blinds! - and will change your sheets if you leave out clean ones. On the few instances where there has been a very minor issue, they've been really responsive in addressing questions or concerns in a timely and fair way. Have recommended to multiple friends!

Since my fiancée and I have moved in together, my condo was getting too cramped for the both of us, our belongings, and our two cats. We found another condo that would accommodate both our needs and our pets' needs. We have been using Maid Bright regularly for two years now and desperately needed their services for both a move-out cleaning of our existing condo and a move-in cleaning of our new condo since both my fiancée and I have busy schedules to take care of this ourselves. The move-out cleaning was spectacular and helped us present it to sell. Everything looked polished and sparkling. The move-in cleaning was also noteworthy and we were so grateful that we could just move all of our furniture, spend time arranging our things, and not worry about the little details involved with such a cleaning. We will also continue to use Maid Bright bi-weekly at our new place.

I hired Maid Bright to replace a maid service I had used for over 10 years. They did a very good job on their first visit and their prices are incredibly reasonable. I will definitely use them again. Update 9 Months Later: Unfortunately we had to let Maid Bright go in June 2013. Over time their service deteriorated to where they only cleaned around things unless I actually followed them around the house and pointed out what needs to be cleaned. We would regularly find dust on baseboards, chair railings, and around furniture legs. In June 2013, they left our sliding glass door open and unlocked while no one was at home. Given the security concerns and the fact the extra work we had to do to make sure the house was cleaned appropriately, we canceled service with Maid Bright. Update July 2013: I have contacted MaidBright 3 times requesting they return our house keys. We had all locks replaced and are sending them a bill. The responsiveness is non-existent and I can't believe anyone would take so long to return keys. This company fails. Update July 2013: Maid Bright reimbursed me for having the locks replaced in my house, but only after several conversations via email. They did the right thing in the end.

I've had a handful of cleaners throughout the years and never had them do as thorough of a job as MAIDBRIGHT. I am very excited to set up a monthly service with them. The process, from start to finish (estimate, payments, scheduling, etc.) has been seamless. I can't say enough good things about them.

Customer service was highly professional. My town house was in need of serious cleaning. The first cleaning job was done very well (beat my expectations).

I recently started Maid Bright as my full time housekeeping service. The estimator arrived promptly and was courteous while in my home. The pricing seems competitive based on what I've paid other service providers and private indivduals for similar services. The initial cleaning is somewhat more expensive but is what was recommended by the estimator. The intitial cleaning was set up so that the crew had ample time to perform the services requested. The cleaning crew that came to my home was polite and arrived within the specified window. Overall I thought they did a great job. I am having them come back to my house for regular service and I will re-review them once they've had a chance to perform regular weekly services.

I was extremely pleased with the quality of the initial house cleaning I received from Maid Bright. We have had 3 other companies clean for us over the past 6 years, and none of them cleaned as well as this team. The two employees arrived on time, with all the cleaning supplies, to include replacement trash bags ( a first for us!). They were friendly & courteous, asked me to show them all of the areas and any specifics I wanted or didn't want done.They cleaned 4 bedrooms, 3 & 1/2 baths, a family room, dining room, kitchen and entryway, moved knickknacks, dusted hanging pictures, ceiling fans, stair railings, moldings, cleaned all the windowsills, even opening windows that were't open! My kitchen & baths sparkeled when they were done! They asked me to review their work to see if there was anything they missed - NOTING!!! I have since scheduled them for a bi-weekly service!

I recently purchased a condo and moved in this past weekend.After the closing, I inquired with Maid Bright through Angie?s list for the move-in cleaning, as the residence needed a deep cleaning. I e-mailed Maid Bright and immediately received a response telling me that they could set up a free in-home estimate! I scheduled the estimate and a gentleman by the name of Jay came out and answered my questions about the initial cleaning and regular services provided if I was interested. The day of the cleaning, two ladies came out and did a marvelous job. I had been so stressed up to that day, but the job they did eased my tension in this whole moving process. Although the property is not large, due to my older age I will need them to provide service for my house every other week. I have now set up regular service with the same cleaning crew and a time slot that works with my schedule.

My daughter was having out of town guests this past weekend and as a gift to her, I arranged for Maid Bright to have her house cleaned from top to bottom. It is nearly impossible for her to do this by herself due to the fact that she is a full-time student and also has a two year old. I decided to call for Maid Bright's professional service because I had been using them for many years and continue to do so. In the detailed cleaning, all of the appliances were sparkling and all of the guest rooms looked like rooms in a five star hotel!

We have been using Maid Bright for about 2 years. It seems like we're always getting a different crew & have to constantly remind them about specific areas that need attention and not to use the same vacuum they use on the floors to clean our relatively expensive sofa. The last few times things have been pretty shoddy and the last straw was my having to vacuum again after they left, re-clean the toilets, and scrub the kitchen cabinets.

The initial cleaning was very thorough. The girls continue to do a great job, my only complaint would be that when they are due to my home at a certain time they are usually an hour or more late. I realize that the time that I'm given is a window but it is sometimes hard for me since I have two young children. I am otherwise very satisfied with their work, the girls are friendly and professional, and whenever I need to call the office they quickly return my calls. I look forward to their arrival each time and recommend them to my friends.

Overall the service went very well. Professional and punctual estimate and find job cleaning.

Maid Bright was quick to send an estimator to the house to give us a quote. They were quick to return phone calls and emails, and we set up the initial cleaning for 27 August. The cleaning crew came over and were very good with our two crazy but non-threatening dogs. The crew spent three hours cleaning the entire house, and even got all the dog nose prints off the window without me asking. The house looked terrific. Whatever powerful vacuum cleaner they used to suck up all the dog fur from the carpets and sofas was great; our Dyson pales in comparison. It was such a relief to have a clean house, and i didnt have to lift a finger. We look forward to biweekly service from them!

They were contracted to clean a 3,400 square foot house that was vaccant. They cleaned a large area and to a great extent, did a good job. They omitted cleaning the ceiling fans of which there were five. I am not sure if this was an extra cost item or they just forgot. The kitchen cabinets were mostly cleaned well but we did find cobwebs where they missed some spots. I assume anyone can miss a few items. Nonetheless, I wrote this initial review and have since updated it as a result of their calling me to question the dollar value of the work. Angies list forces an amount in the field that says amount. I didn't recall the amount and put a larger number in there but have since changed it to zero. This field should not be required by Angies list. Back to the cleaning service. They called me today (8/27/2012) after reading my review requesting that enter a correct amount for the cost of the service. As a result I have changed the amount to either zero or 1 whichever Angie's List will permit. I have also updated this entire review. They were very persistent to have me update this review today with more accurate information. I have done that. I was in the middle of a meeting today when they called. I appreciate their concern for accuracy and don't see anything wrong with calling me. But next time, send me an email - don't call me in the middle of a work day, please. They also offered to return and clean the ceiling fans. I appreciate that but it is too inconvenient to take off work for that to happen. In summary, I would hire them again. However, with any cleaning service, the owner should be responsible to identify EVERYTHING they want cleaned and should follow-up to ensure it is done to their satisfaction before they leave the home. Maid Bright was very responsive when I called and we set up a time to have the estimator come out and let me know how much their services would be. I found that their price is in the range of most cleaning services. The first visit went very well. They were very thorough and did a good job. I look forward to having them provide cleaning services in the future.

We're very pleased with MaidBright. They are on time, always check before a scheduled arrival time to make sure it's still convenient, and always send the same crew - so that we can get to know them personally. Our two-person crew (and their office staff) all speak good English, which is vital to avoid misunderstandings. They are also very nice. Cleaning standard is excellent and they cover a lot of ground very quickly. With all the adults in the house working full-time jobs, it's a case study of why it's often better to hire professionals than to do a mediocre job yourself in your spare time. Maidbright was a great find (thanks Angie) and they add significantly to our quality of life.

I have been really happy. The maids are always really happy; they come and look like they want to work, which is really nice. I haven't had to tell them to touch up on anything, where other companies I've had to have them re-do things. They are always very thorough.

It was great. They were on time and courteous; I was really happy.

They are very thorough and overall we have been very happy with them. They go above and beyond and do extra tasks which have been appreciated like taking out the trash and folding clothing in the dryer. They are very nice to work with. The person who did the initial assessment was really great and their rates are far less than some other estimates that we received.

We were very pleased with the quality of the cleaning. My husband was hesitant to use a cleaning service as he has not been impressed in the past but he was very pleased. We will continue to use them on a regular basis!

Maid Bright saved me from the post-renovation mess I had to deal with! I've been using Maid Bright for my regular house cleaning for several years now and have always been very impressed with the attention to detail that they have been providing. We recently had our kitchen and bathrooms renovated after living at our house for two years now and I knew I could not tackle such a job with my two children. I gave them a prompt call after the renovation and scheduled to have a detailed cleaning due to the amount of dust and debris left behind. The team of two ladies were very accommodating and responsive to my requests at the time of the cleaning and even had me check the whole house afterwards to make sure I was happy with the overall results! I cannot thank Maid Bright and their team enough for helping me in this dire situation!
