Maid Bright

The house needed final cleaning, especially because our usual cleaning person had to quit several weeks before. Our furniture etc had already been loaded on the moving truck. The house was pretty large, about 5000 sq ft, so I thought the cost of the final clean-up was reasonable. I was especially impressed with the agent (a cousin of the owner) who came for the walk-through and estimate. He came soon after I called, and was very professional and straightforward. On the day of the cleaning the women who came did a great job. If I had continued to live in the DC area, I would have this organization do my regular cleaning.

There were several issues with management. Once they messed up our appointment time allegedly due to a cleaning that ran over. They therefore tried to send a different crew who had no key thus requiring me to be home. They had to be pushed to figure out a way to meet the appointment time because I could not be home. Once we asked them to clean refrigerator (for extra charge). They forgot the first month. They agreed to do it the following month, but forgot. They did send a crew the same day the second time they forgot. When we needed our key returned because we were ending or service due to a layoff, they promised to return the key the next day via certified mail. It took them 6 weeks and a reminder. They offer discounts for good reviews on Angie's List which is probably the most telling thing of all.

We have been using Maid Bright for several months now in our house and we are blown away by the results each time. The friendly crew that comes to our house every two weeks makes our lives so much easier with our kids and pets! They are so thorough and pay attention to the smallest details that it really makes a difference. What I truly love about Maid Bright is the ease of communication with the cleaning crew and office staff. They respond to e-mails and voicemails very promptly and handle all of your requests in a timely manner, which shows their level of professionalism! I recommend them to anyone looking for a reputable cleaning company.

We have used Maid Bright for over 2 years. They have always been prompt and attentive and we have had no problems whatsoever. The house is clean and neat after they leave- great for my allergies!

The cleaning went well. Cleaning crew arrived promptly and covered all items on our priority list and more. Spent nearly four hours on a three floor condo. Gave periodic progress reports throughout service and brought problems to homeowner in a timely manner so they could be assessed and dealt with collaboratively.

We've used Maid Bright since we moved to McLean in July 2010 (and before we joined Angie's List, coincidentally). Overall, they are OK. They've only been late/not shown up as scheduled twice, though we did have to call repeatedly to ensure they were slotting us for a morning time (we have two small children who nap in the early afternoon) and calling a day in advance to confirm. I've never been all that thrilled with their cleaning... feels like they always do the basic, minimum amount to keep me from deciding to look for another service, but I'm usually unhappy with at least 1-2 things after each visit... visible cobwebs in the ceiling corners of 8' or 9' ceiling hallways that are easily reached, trash cans un-emptied in upstairs bathrooms, bathrooms or desks completely strewn about with no attempt to put things back where they belong, bathroom rugs and towels left stacked on the toilet rather than put back on the floor/towel rack after they mopped etc. We also rarely get the same crew on a regular basis, so there's little consistency or routine with our preferences from month to month. I did contact them about a year ago to price twice monthly visits and was disappointed when told the price would be the same or even go up, despite more regular visits. I was even told that their prices had gone up in the short 16-18 months we'd been working with them, but they've never indicated our rates will be eventually going up so I think they were just trying to defend keeping the price the same. With so many other firms offering this in the area, hard for me to believe you can't find someone better AND cheaper. Inertia is the only reason I don't switch companies at this point, but whenever we move to twice monthly service I'll be looking for another company.

I was impressed with Maid Bright from the start. A representative came to my home and was very polite. I showed him the areas of the home I needed help with and he sat down with me at the dining room table and went over all their services, explained everything including their insurance policy, and gave me a no hassle quote right there. When he was done he emailed me the quote (good for 30 days) and all the proper paperwork that would be needed if I choose to use his business. Two ladies come by every 3 weeks to help with our main common floor, bathrooms, and hallways. We have a unique situation where my father lives with us (but in his own space in the lower level) and has his area cleaned as well. Maid Bright was nice enough to break up the quote by section of the house so we could keep our finances straight. We all look forward to every 3rd Wednesday when the ladies come by and we hurry home to see how wonderful the place looks! They do a wonderful job! Thank you Maid Bright for making our lives easier! We really appreciate the help!

I am not home when they come so I do not know how long they stay. They are better than the company I used before, but their dusting is still not as thorough as I would like.

I have a puppy and a 2 month old. Needless to say finding time to clean is a challenge. Maid Bright has been wonderful. It is such a relief to not worry about this chore.

We have been very happy with the crews from Maid Bright that come to clean our townhome monthly. They are courteous, respectful and always do a very nice job cleaning the home. Typical cleaning takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Maid Bright has been accommodating if we need to change the day of the cleaning or even the time. Would recommend to others.

Our Maid Bright house cleaners are always on time, friendly and provide excellent service. Our house is always cleaned from top to bottom and every room is spotless, including all bathrooms, bedrooms and the kitchen. We really appreciate our Maid Bright house cleaners hard work and dedication and enjoy coming home to a clean house after they have completed their spotless cleaning service. We have tried several other companies over the years, but Maid Bright has provided the best, most consistent cleaning services.

The cleaning crew is very good -- absolutely no complaints there. I have had issues with the billing department. I want to see an invoice before I pay for the service, but I do not receive one without asking for it repeatedly. Our second invoice should have reflected a $25 credit for getting them through Angie's List and it did not. Our credit card was compromised and I told them not to use it, yet they tried anyway; it obviously did not work, but the fact that they tried shows a lack of organization in the office. Because of all the billing issues, I feel I've spent more time than should be necessary trying to get things right.

First I need to mention that the communication setting up the appointment was on spot. All inquires were responded to in a very timely manner, from the estimate visit, to the cleaning, to the follow up. The 2 person team was on time ,courteous, and totally thourough. I will continue to use this service.

We have been using Maid Bright for over a year now. I have been overall very happy with their service. I especially appreciate that they will send the same crew upon request. There have been a few times where that was not possible and they called ahead of time to let me know. We hit one snag a few months ago where the crew (substituting for my normal crew) was not able to find our home and arrived late, but the situation was resolved in a very professional manner. The crews we have had all do a fantastic job. I love the way my home looks after each cleaning. They are very thorough, yet move quickly and complete the job in about 2 hours. One incident a few months ago showed me how trustworthy and professional this company is. While the crew was cleaning the bathroom, a ceramic toothbrush holder fell into the ceramic wastebasket and both broke. The crew must have immediately contacted their supervisor, because I was contacted by phone just after they left. They asked me to let them know the replacement value of the items and they promptly credited my account. I was pleasantly surprised by how this situation was handled. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for regular housecleaning services.

Maid Bright does exceptional work. To date, our household has used Maid Bright to clean the master bathroom, which included cleaning the shower stall, the tiles on the wall and floor, polishing the fixtures, cleaning the mirror, cleaning the light fixtures, and cleaning the floor and countertop. They only request that I (1) provide a step stool so that they can reach the ceiling (yes, they even clean that, if asked); and (2) provide bleach, which is used to clean the floor tiles in the shower stall. The price is quite reasonable, and makes the service an extraordinary bargain.

The Maid Bright team does an excellent job. In 3-4 years, we'd used a number of other services, but were never really satisfied with the work or responsiveness. We've been using Maid Bright for 2+ years now, and have been happy with the work they do. We usually have a team of 2 (sometimes 3) clean our house (roughly 3,000 SF including basement), and they do the job in about 2-3 hours. They will usually have 1-2 areas that get "special focus" during a cleaning, and are always responsive if we proactively have requests for areas that need extra attention. At least 1 (and usually 2) of the house cleaners are the same from cleaning to cleaning, which is nice -- because they get to know the things that are most important to you. Price is reasonable comparatively. And certainly a good value given the quality of work that's done. The office is responsive, and has been proactive in rescheduling if there's ever an issue (e.g., Christmas holidays). As an example, during our last cleaning, a picture frame fell from the wall and cracked in a few places. The cleaning crew immediately apologized, took pictures of the damage, and sent the pictures to the office. Within 10 minutes, I received an incredibly apologetic call from the office, letting me know what had happened (the office manager didn't know I was home during the time of the cleaning) and offering to pay to replace the frame and fix any damage to the baseboards. My only "cons" are minor ones: 1) while the team comes every two weeks, the timing of their arrival varies from cleaning to cleaning (I work from home -- so this can cause a disturbance in my schedule); and 2) they're not the best when it comes to getting into corners -- I've had to ask the team on more than one occasion to dust in corners/crevices to get out dust bunnies or cobwebs. Overall, we're very happy with the service Maid Bright has provided, and plan to continue to use them into the future.

Maid Bright has cleaned my house three times now. Getting an estimate and arranging all the cleanings has been super convenient. The first time they clean your house they charge you by the hour and it's recommended that you're at home when the cleaners come. They did a thorough job and we decided to hire them. They've come at the requested times and completed two cleanings since. I will note that on the last cleaning a few items were not completed (kitchen trash, all window sills). I emailed them and they noted it would be brought to the attention of the crew for the next cleaning. We'll see how it's resolved. That's why I'm noting a B for quality. Price I think is competitive for the service.

Following an experimental period of a few months, I settled on an excellent cleaning crew. Both of the cleaning ladies understand what I mean by thorough, and do a consistently good job. They always arrive during the designated timeframe, are remarkably efficient, work very quickly without sacrificing quality. Further, Maid Bright's policies are commendable: their employees are bonded and insured, they use green products, and they stand by their service claims.

We were extremely pleased with the consistency of the service. Have been using Maid Bright since the beginning of this past summer and they have certainly surpassed or expectations. Extremely prompt and responsive to any schedule changes that we have had come up. Would certainly recommend and encourage folks in giving Maid Bright a try!

The kitchen floor was still dirty after the last visit, and overall their service has gone down since we started using them a year ago. I have a black piece of furniture that really shows dust, and recently they have only been dusting in front of the statues I have on the shelves, not beside or behind, and it's really obvious. The service description says they will clean off light switches and so on, and the ladies did do that at first, but not anymore.

The initial cleaning was pretty good- the bathrooms were spotless, the dustboards were immaculate, and the floors shined. The one frustration was that I had done a walk-through with the women who arrived and pointed out a few key things I wanted them to do (that were in the scope of what was part of the initial cleaning) and they did not do them. I pointed this out to them when they said they were "done" but it was already an expensive day and I just did it myself so as not to add to the hourly cost. My second cleaning with them was fine; I didn't realize they didn't mop, which was one of the things I really wanted done, but that is perhaps my fault for not doing my homework. A frustration from the administrative end is that they don't call you with their arrival times until the day before your scheduled appointment, which makes it extremely hard to plan your day. You basically have to leave the entire day open, which is easier said than done. Overall, they do good work. The initial cleaning was very expensive, but the ongoing price is competitive. I'll use them again.

Maid Bright does an outstanding housecleaning job every time they come to clean. They are professional, courteous, friendly, very careful, thorough, efficient, and quiet while working safely, quickly and effectively. Kitchens and bathrooms are expertly done. They even clean in difficult to get at areas and do an outstanding job each time. Rooms are well dusted and vacuumed and items are returned to proper places if moved. Maid Bright always endeavors to send out the same team each scheduled cleaning day. I have used other cleaning services in the past, and Maid Bright is the BEST in my opinion.
