Yusuf the owner responded promptly to our call and came to provide a free in house estimate. To his credit, he was very clear about his service but his conditions were completely unacceptable to us. He was fond of showing all his accreditation on which he focused on but we were wondering really what he would do for us given his requirements not to mention that : We got a ridiculous amount of hours estimate for the initial cleaning. No company ever stayed 6 hours to clean what we asked him to clean. That surely helped his bottom line but we would have been forced to pay for cleaning services we did not need. He indicated to us that he did not overbook houses but noted that he required a two hour time window to get here because of unknown contingencies that may happen to the crews. I think most of us would be fired if we told our employers that we want a two hour margin to arrive every time we go to work and is also not mindful of the homeowners busy schedule. He mentioned making sure of delivering but I would assume you can always make it if you a have two hours margin to arrive late to any job. Beside his ridiculous time estimate, he then started to say we do not clean this, we do not clean that which was completely inconsistent with the numbers of hours he was asking for not to mention to please not say anything to his crew if they missed anything but talk directly to him. You would have to pay for the service all the same but comments only to him because the crews may be sensitive to that. We honestly did not get to the price since there was no point in continuing the discussion further so I invited him to leave. His conclusion was that he was not a good match for us but ours was that I am not sure what busy homeowner would accept this kind of conditions and costs. It is the homeowner who has to give his time to allow them a two hour time window, accept a crazy numbers of hours of service, and also accept that he does not do this or that. I think this company will not be worth the time investment for many reasonable homeowners.

Unfortunately, I was not able to finish the estimate because you wanted me to leave and I wish I was able to give you a complete quote before you made your final decision. From my experiences I mentioned that your house cleaning may take between four to six hours to do a thorough initial cleaning that would have met your standards. We give all of our clients a two hour window in the event of unexpected circumstances that may occur to our crews. Sometimes traffic and the previous house taking longer are things that we need to consider when giving our customers an arrival time. I love how personal Maid Bright is. They respond same day to e-mails and always are available for estimates and any issues that may come up. I fully trust their crews in our properties and they always do a very good job. I had one issue once, and that was minor and addressed immediately. They are not the cheapest in the area, but they are very reasonable and trustworthy which far exceeds price in my opinion. I will be having them do a move-out clean as well for another property and know they will do another excellent job. I have used other maid services in the area and had very bad experiences, so I highly recommend Maid Bright!
Description of Work: Maid Bright services a rental condo of ours in Reston twice per month. We have used them for almost a year now, and are in the process of getting them to clean another condo on a regular basis.

They broke a piece of art I had got in a small town of South Africa, and management knew about it and did not inform me of it until i asked them.They disposed of it with out letting me know. It is an irreplaceable an item. I asked them "Did anybody report on the condition of the item", I asked if it could have been repaired, then they sent a picture of the item shattered.

They do a good job overall. I am never home when they are there so I do not know specifics. If I come home and I am not happy about something they are extremely responsive and it does not happen again. If it is something major they come back out, but that only needed to happen once. I recommend their service highly. It is great to come home to a clean house.

My wife and I recently bought a newly renovated town home and were in need of a deep cleaning before moving in. They give you a 2-hour window of starting time for the service, which is reasonable but one time they did not arrive within the window of time and I had to call to find out what time to expect. They came soon after but I thought they should have been proactive and called me.

They only clean two out of the three levels of our home, but they charge us for a full house. They complete about 2,000 square feet in about three and a half hours. The women who come are wonderful and they even do then beds. They bring all of their cleaning supplies that are Eco-friendly. However, if you supply additional chemicals, such as bleach, they will use it at your request. We have had excellent service from them.
Description of Work: We have used their services three times now for housecleaning. The first time was for a move out, the second for a move in, and the first time was just before the Holidays.

UPDATE as of May 2014: At first (and as reflected in my review below), we thought Maid Bright was doing a good enough job that it wasn't worth trying another company. Unfortunately, the quality of their work has deteriorated significantly since my last review and we have cancelled our recurring service. First of all, our crew repeatedly arrived outside of the scheduled time. On one occasion, the crew arrived one full hour early while we were still out doing errands and called to say that we needed to come home to let them in. Second and more importantly, the quality of the cleaning service became unacceptably poor. We repeatedly noticed that our baseboards, light fixtures, picture frames, couches, etc. were not being cleaned at all. If this happened once, it would be okay -- but we had the same crew in our house every time and had already reminded them on multiple occasions to clean the baseboards. The crew also does not move any items or furniture to clean under them. During our last cleaning, the crew stayed for only one hour and left without telling us that they were done, so we did not even have a chance to say that the baseboards were covered with dust. Maid Bright would probably send the crew back if we called their main office to complain, but for $140 per cleaning, we shouldn't have to do that every single time. Also be aware that Maid Bright's rating on this website could be misleading -- after I gave Maid Bright a "B" rating in my last review, Maid Bright offered me a free cleaning in return for changing my rating to an "A." I don't think the quality of their service is accurately reflected in their ratings on this website. If you are in the market for a cleaning crew, I would suggest looking elsewhere. ORIGINAL as of January 2014: Maid Bright has been performing a monthly cleaning of my two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom townhouse in Alexandria for the past six months. Before my first cleaning, a representative came to the house for a walkthrough and explained all of the services that the cleaning crew would perform. He was very helpful, detail-oriented, and informative. We began the service shortly afterwards. The crew always does a very nice job on the house. They are generally careful with our original wood floors and go a step further than many cleaners do (such as vacuuming the couch cushions). Sometimes our crew does miss something that we would expect them to clean (e.g. the baseboards), but they have always responded well to requests and reminders. We have only had one real issue with Maid Bright -- on one occasion, the crew slid a chair on our wood floor without checking to see if it had felt pads on the legs, and they left a sizable scratch in our floor. I called the main office and they sent someone back with a wood cleaning and staining product that covered the scratch fairly well, but not perfectly. This was fairly disappointing but I appreciated Maid Bright's effort to rectify the issue. They took total responsibility and have worked hard to remedy the situation, going so far as to offer to reimburse the cost of repair. The customer service is extremely good, and is definitely the reason that we do not try out another cleaning company. As mentioned above, I was very impressed with their immediate response to the scratch in my floor. I have always had a great experience when calling their office to re-schedule a cleaning or handle payments. The office will call the day before each cleaning and give a two-hour range for when the crew will arrive, and they are always on-time or early. Last time, we were scheduled for 12pm to 2pm, and the crew arrived around 10:45am (which could be a problem for some people, but not for us). Overall, I would recommend Maid Bright (CAVEAT -- SEE UPDATE ABOVE).

We worked with this cleaning service for over a year. The quality of their service was just ok. It was the standard experience where they started off doing a fairly thorough job, but over time their efforts degraded to where sink drains were left grimy, floors were hardly mopped, etc. We are extremely busy people, like most people to have a cleaning service. We did not have time for the hassle of calling them each time they missed something. We just accepted this as better-than-nothing but not great service. They did arrive on time bi-weekly, so I will give them that. Ultimately, the reason we officially decided to end our service was that they do not follow their own policy with respect to broken items. We were told when we first signed up that we would receive a call should anything be broken or damaged during a cleaning. However, the first two times something was damaged, they put the broken item back discreetly -- perhaps hoping we wouldn't notice? The first two items were small though, and not worth the hassle of calling them and complaining. The third time this happened however was a whopper -- I came home to find our glass top mosaic side table shattered in the garage. No call, no note. I called them immediately, and was told the cleaning crew said it was already like that. This was absurd since I use the table nightly, and it was unbroken and in its normal place when I left in the morning. I was told a manager would call back, but I did not receive a call until the next day. When the manager, Yousef, did call back -- he said his cleaning person did not break the table, though admitted that she moved it to the garage and took pictures of it (hmmm....I wonder why?). Given the tabletop was shattered, pieces were missing, and it had been transported out of the living room, the denial of involvement was bizarre. Yousef insisted he come see the table -- I thought surely once he saw the table he would realize that SOMETHING happened during the cleaning. When he arrived, he acknowledged that the table was broken and offered me $40 credit. I was satisfied and accepted the offer. At that point, he should have just apologized, shaken my hand, and left. However, instead he continued to insist that his cleaning person did not break the table. He asked me to touch the broken pieces saying it was 'worn out' (made no sense), and then suggested that my daughter did it, who was at daycare when it was broken. Overall, the encounter was very odd and a major customer service fail. Eventually my husband came out to see what was up, and politely ended the conversation. It was only then that Yousef offered to cover the full cost of replacement. But it wasn't about money for us at that point. We need to feel that any service coming into our home while we are away is run by reasonably honest people and by a company that takes responsibility for mishaps. That was not our experience with this company unfortunately.

The gentleman arrived promptly and called while on the way to let us know he would be here soon. He explained a few details about their service and then we began to tour my house to discuss what I expected. That was when the experience became a disappointment. I have quite a few glass knickknacks, and mentioned that fact. He informed me that they don't dust glass. They just don't. My dining room light has a glass shade. They would not dust that. Already I was realizing that they have a different idea of what cleaning service means than I do. When we got to my home office, he informed me that they do not clean offices unless we move everything. Apparently all papers need to be removed so that they don't lose them or something. They will not move any large furniture. I know it SOUNDS picky for me to complain about that, but my sofas slide easily on my wood floors, and this needs to be done so that an adequate job can be done of cleaning under them. I have never had a cleaning service refuse to do any of these things before. He looked at my piano, and clearly was not happy at the prospect of having his service clean it. I explained that I just need it dusted with a dry cloth, and he allowed as how they could do that. They would also dust picture frames. I guess that meant they weren't going to dust the FRONTS as they are covered with glass. This concludes our tour of the main floor. Upstairs are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We began in the master bath in which, like all my bathrooms, the tile goes to the ceiling. He was pretty sure that they would only clean the tile up to the height of 6 feet. But they would clean the entire mirror, which goes up to about 7 feet. I'm not understanding anything at this point. In the bedroom, he asked what my shades were made of. It seems they vacuum floors, and they bring a canister vacuum cleaner, but they will not vacuum or dust honeycomb fabric shades. But they would change the bed linens. I can make beds. I don't want to clean my house. Apparently neither do they. They don't dust glass including glass chandeliers or lampshades. They don't clean under the sofas. They don't clean offices (but they do include them in the rooms to be cleaned, I guess because they will vacuum the carpet). They don't clean the front of pictures, just the frames. They don't clean ALL of the tile in the bathrooms. They don't vacuum the shades in my bedrooms (actually 2 bedrooms and 2 offices) or my master bathroom. I don't have a family room and I don't have my basement cleaned. But for what they will do in my living room, dining room, kitchen, 3 bathrooms, one half bath, 2 bedrooms and w offices, they will charge me $149.00. And then I will have to dust my own chandeliers, glass shades, and knickknacks; move my sofas and clean under them; vacuum all my window shades; clean the top 2 feet of the tile in each of my bathrooms, and dust my husband's office and mine. There is just too much that Maid Bright doesn't do to give me the clean house I am looking for.
Description of Work: I called and arranged for an estimate for biweekly housekeeping. I made it plain in my call that I am rather demanding and am looking for someone to do a good job of cleaning my house because I don't want to.

It was nothing I couldn't do myself...and better. I contracted for 2 hrs. for $120. There work was unexceptional. Not that it was bad, but it was normal i that you could still see areas not dusted, wood floors with average wash and clean. Maybe I expected more, but that's based on me doing a great job.

Here's what they did well: They were extremely punctual and responsive - initially. The owner, Yuseff called me less than one hour after submitting a request for a quote. He answered all of my questions and was extremely thorough in explaining their services. The consultation went well with rep Shadhi. He did calculate a lot of the costs in his head, but was kind enough to dislodge an undergarment from the previous owner from the laundry chute for me. The team that arrived to clean were punctual and were pleasant The team fixed my toilet that was not draining properly. Here's what I didn't like: The team wrapped up an estimated 3-hr cleaning in only two. While normally, that wouldn't have been a bad thing...I noticed several inconsistencies in quality and missed spots where I saw dust, spider webs and spiders. The team did not walk me through the house to point out what they'd done. The customer service rep, Shadhi, that came by for the consultation showed me a brochure with a checklist of all of the things that would be covered. The team never referred to this nor did they seem surprised that I was pointing out areas that they had clearly neglected. While they came back and did another once-over for the areas that were missed (windows filled with cobwebs and underneath cabinets with cobwebs, and a less-than-clean toilet bowl) I didn't get any explanation for why they would have announced that they were done, and walked out...without really providing the attention to detail as a new homeowner that I needed. Remember that nasty piece of clothing Shadhi removed from the laundry chute? It was left right where he'd dislodged it the previous day even though when the cleaning crew and I specifically asked them to remove it as trash. When they were asked to come back and clean up the spider webs, they picked that up on the way out. After they left, I called the customer service line to complain to the manager about the lack of attention to detail. I was told that the Service Manager, Yuseff, would call me back in two hours. That was 11am on Saturday morning. It is now 5 mins to midnight on Saturday night and I have yet to receive a phone call to discuss reimbursements or credits to my account. I did another walk through and found more spider webs - and spiders - that I had to remove myself. Not a big deal, but after paying $200, I don't expect to have to kill 5 spiders. I do not plan to use this service again. They mentioned a 30% discount for writing a review after my first service date. I wonder if they will rethink this after they read my review? I would be willing to give them another chance once this issue has been acknowledged and resolved to satisfaction.

I had e-mailed the manager saying I was having my family over for Christmas dinner, so this was a additional cleaning. The last time they were here, I had adopted a cat and she had only been with me for a couple of weeks, so I locked her up in the spare bedroom and left a note on the door saying the cat was in there, and to leave the door closed. Today, I figured I can't locked the cat up every time they come over, so I just left them a note to make sure they don't leave the front or back doors open for too long. When I came home, the house looked terrific, it smelled great and the cat was sleeping on the bed! Additionally, I don't worry about theft or breakages - these people are awesome. By the way - I love the concept of Angie's list where the reviewer needs to put their name down. I have seen some companies trashed on yelp and you have to wonder if the review is accurate. No need to worry about that here.

They are punctual and I am called if there's any delay. They do pretty much what is on their checklist. Occasionally I have had to remind them to do certain things and they are always very responsive. Talking with them is difficult because I only speak English.

They arrived when they said they would. All of the expected cleaning was completed within the timeframe they estimated. They accommodated my kids' naps and started their cleaning in the bedrooms rather than following their usual routine. There were a few little areas that I hoped would be cleaned that weren't, but mostly those were things I didn't really expect, like the top of the fridge and ceiling light fixtures. That little bit of above and beyond would have been A+ in my opinion, but their service is still a solid A.
Description of Work: I needed service before Thanksgiving, and Maid Bright was able to fit me in for an estimate and service within 3 weeks of me contacting them.
