I have used this provider several times. They initially came out in September 2014. I had not used my system in several years and did not have it previously winterized. Danny tested the system for me and noted all of the issues with the system. He was informative but not pushy. I have called into the office and able to get the information and scheduling I needed. I also have found that working with them by email works as well. I stayed home the 1st visit and Danny was prompt. He had a very upbeat personality and made learning from him easy. I love that I don't have to be home for the provider to work on my system. All the work done has been of good quality. They will be back in April to get the system ready for spring. I am confident that the work done will be good and my system will be functioning well by growing season.

I really like the guy that came to the house today. He was extremely knowledgeable about irrigation systems and taught me about my irrigation system. I feel confident in the work he performed and that he suggested be performed. I would think that their appointment administration on the phone left something to be desired. I tried to find out for an annual service package and she said she cannot do that.

They come twice a year for "turn on" in the spring and a "shut down/drain" before winter. Mr. Miller is who we were was most impressed with when we searched for an irrigation contractor. If you ever have any question or issue with anything, he's attentive and responsive. Very pleased and do recommend them.

Came out, gave estimate on fixing broken sprinklers. Fixed the sprinklers. Sent in the form for winterization and turn-on in the spring. Called to follow up on winterization and was told they will get back to me with date and time. Never heard from them again. Got bill from them and called to find out what for. They said it was for the guy who came over in the first place to analyze the siituation and give a quote. This was back in September and it's already end of January. Asked if they were planning to come out and winterize or if they had done so already and was told that they never received the contract. As far as I'm concerned they have no idea what they are doing. What a waste of time and energy. Even to write this review.

I am sorry to hear you have had such a negative experience with our company. We strive to provide excellent customer service and quality work product. I have reviewed our notes to see what could have gone wrong: On August 28, 2014 you called our office to set up an appointment to audit your irrigation system as you were new to the home and wanted to make sure it was in good operating order. We reviewed billing for our services with you and set up the appointment for September 5, 2014. When the tech arrived on this date, you had forgotten you had another appointment scheduled and asked us to reschedule for the following week. We set this up for September 11, 2014. We completed the audit and generated a punch list of work for zone 3. You signed off on the punch list work, it was scheduled for September 24 and completed. While we sent out the two invoices in a timely manner, we apparently had the incorrect email address (we omitted an number). When we didn't get payment in a timely manner, we started sending out account statements both via email and USPS in case you weren't in receipt of the original invoice (for any number of reasons including wrong email addresses, they were going into your junk file, etc). The statements were sent out on 10/29/14, 12/16/14, 1/9/15. Finally, we never received your Yearly Irrigation Contract. This is a prepaid service, so if you sent in a check or bank bill pay and we don't have the contract, we call you to straighten it out. If you requested we send you an invoice and you don't receive one, we would hope you would call us to follow up. While we're not perfect, we try diligently to provide great customer service and quality work product. I hope you'll give us another chance.

All services from the initial quote to installation to annual maintenance have been excellent. Everyone we have worked with has been friendly and professional. They have always been on time for appointments and reliable if we have had questions. The office staff is pleasure to deal with, and they are always courteous and responsive.

The service went well. Three technicians came out and completed the job in about 8 hours. They were punctual and did good work. They were able to resolve the issue and the work was done in a timely fashion. There was a week or two delay for the service due to its priority relevance. I had no issue with that.
Description of Work: I hired the company to repair a drain pipe that was flooding the yard. Tree roots were interfering with the previously installed drainage. They were able to replace the drainage without damaging the health of the trees.

I contacted the company about performance of repairs on my sprinkler system. The provider had no interest in a visit to assess the scope of work, but would only book the work for a minimum 4 hrs. At the end of 4 hrs if the work was not done they would have to leave and re-book. I was not willing to book the work without an estimate.

[member name removed]: I am sorry you had such an unsatisfactory experience when you contacted our company to make service arrangements. We obviously fell short in communicating with you on our services and your options. We do have a minimum service call, but it is one hour. If a client calls and reports he has one or two heads that are broken, or one zone isn't coming on, we can readily estimate the time and materials with you over the phone; if it is within your expectations, we can then book the work if you choose to. At the other end of the spectrum, if a client calls in with multiple issues on a system that hasn't been regularly serviced, there isn't an easy way to estimate that without a technician going through a series of troubleshooting steps to identify the problems and their solutions. This is because most of an irrigation system is below the ground and you cannot readily see or access it. In these types of situations we recommend that we schedule a service tech to perform an Irrigation Audit of your system. We base the time we would allow for this on the number of zones a client has. This service entails a technician reviewing your entire system to identify the items in disrepair, the solutions for those issues, and providing a time and material estimate to address these items if they cannot be repaired in the time-frame our client has pre-approved. This way you know upfront what the hourly rate is and you have pre-approved the time frame. For example, a client may call in to report that “several zones don’t come on” this could be something as simple as a controller programming issue which could be addressed within the minimum one hour time frame, or it could turn out to be that Comcast was recently out burying some lines and they trenched through the back half of the yard and ripped out wires and pipe which could involve 2 to 4 or more hours of labor. We strive to provide our customers with as much information and detail up front so there are no surprises at the end of the job.

Very pleased. The technician was on time and very thorough. He spent the extra time to walk me through the entire system, showed me how to program the controller, made some adjustments to the heads, and explained how to winterize the system. He did not up-sell me on anything and I feel like I got my money's worth out of the visit. I would not hesitate to contact them again for future service.

Miller Irrigation came out to do a system startup after unit had been turned off for almost 2 years. The tech, think his name was Dave, was good. He knew his stuff and got to work immediately with his 2 person crew. He had everything up and running within 10 mins. I asked lots of questions being new to an irrigation system and he was cool to talk thru everything. I had six zones and overall i think we replaced 5 or so sprinklers which they knocked out pretty quick. He also moved my control panel and walked me through how to use the controller. This just happened today so I have not received my bill yet but the service was spot on.

Miller Irrigation had come to winterize our sprinkler system in the fall and failed to notify us if there were any problems with our system so that we would be aware of any damages due to freezing. When they returned for the spring start up there were multiple broken sprinkler heads due to water freezing. Since they did not notify us during the winterization, we do not know if the damages were from seasons prior or if it occurred this past winter. When asked if the broken sprinkler heads were to be covered by them they said they "usually" verbally notify clients that damages would not be covered if contracts are signed late (which neither me or my husband were not notified). Plus I feel that calling your clients approximately 30 minutes prior to arriving is helpful so that they aren't sitting at home wondering when you are coming.

I believe you are misconstruing our contract and our conversations. Per the contract you signed up for, our Winterization service consists of: 1) removing water from the system by blowing pressurized air through all main and lateral lines. 2) bleed backflow preventer of water. 3) if any repairs are needed to shut down the system, they will be billed by the quarter hour. 4) we will not be responsible for damages to your backflow due to freezing PRIOR to winterization. Your husband was "notified" of our practices and policies in the contract he signed up for. We do not perform a full audit of the irrigation at the winterization service because it's not necessary nor is it productive for the homeowner. It's also not a standard best practice for the irrigation industry. Freeze damage to irrigation systems is almost always obvious - the mainline will burst and gush water after it thaws, or the metal on the backflow will be split. If we had seen any of that, we certainly would have notified you. In fact, we wouldn't have been able to winterize it at that point without some repairs. Luckily for you, however, your system didn't have any of this damage despite the fact that you signed up for our services on November 22, and we had already had several early hard freezes by that time. We first scheduled your winterization with you for November 29, but we were “locked out” and had to re-schedule with you. We scheduled with you again on December 6 and we were “locked out” again. We were finally able to winterize you on December 12th. We offer several options for coordinating controller access with our clients so they aren't “sitting at home wondering when” we are coming: We can make the appointment for a first stop of the day which has the tech arriving at 7:30 no later than 8:00 a.m., we can call the day before to give an a.m. (8:00 – noon) or p.m. (noon to end of day) time-frame and we can also call on the way, 15 or 30 minutes in advance of coming out. We made arrangements with you for your winterization, for example, to be the last stop of the day and to call the phone number you specified when the tech was on his way. During the spring audit of your system, our technician identified (2) broken spray heads and (3) leaking rotors and low pressure on zone 3 that needed to be troubleshot. None of this is due to what you refer to as "water freezing". There is actually no water in the heads or the lateral lines unless that particular zone is running. Since this was our first season servicing your system, I can't speak to the prior level of service you maintained with your system, but as with anything mechanical there will be routine maintenance as components start to fail or wear out and need to be repaired or replaced. This is particularly true with items that installed in the earth and are exposed to extremes in temperature and conditions from one season to the next. We stand behind the work we do, and if we fail to winterize a system correctly, we will replace the damaged item at no charge.

Jim (the owner) came out and did my estimate. As always he was on time and very professional. He inspected my down spouts and was able to let me know what could be done. Lisa in the office provided me with an estimate and set up the time for them to come out and do the work. Due to another project taking longer than expected, we did have to reschedule, but Lisa and Pauline are always extremely helpful and ensure customer's are satisfied. One of Jim's guys, Danny came out to do the work on the newly scheduled date. He was on time and very friendly. It was obvious he knew his stuff and even took a quick moment to teach me the lost art of "Dowsing" (a very cool party trick might I add). Jim stopped by to see how everything was going and offer his thanks for choosing his company. First, Danny had to dig the four trenches for the new pipe. He was extremely careful and was able to roll the grass up to be saved for later. All excess dirt (which was mostly clay) was placed on a tarp and discarded appropriately. Danny back filled the trench and relayed the grass on top. He then packed it down and "fluffed" it so it was as if he was never there. While there, he also turned on my sprinkler system for the season as I purchased their winterize and Spring start up program last year which was very convenient to have that done at the same time. I will use Miller Irrigation for my future projects.
Description of Work: My home had the black pipes on the gutter down spouts leading away from the house. I know these are required and move the water away from the home, however they are ugly, make it difficult to mow, and kill the grass. I had Miller Irrigation come out and install four pop up drains that extend the gutter underground and out 8 feet to a pop-up drain.

Miller Irrigation began as a great experience with Jim coming out to give an estimate. On time and sent estimate that day. Lisa emailed proposal(s) and scheduled an installation date the following week. She is very professional! Crew showed up exactly on time and finished the job a few hours before expected. He dropped the price to a lower cost, showed me how to use the controller and they were on their way. Overall a professional, easy experience.

I called late morning and a serviceman appeared in the afternoon. Turned out to be a root that was blocking the head from coming up. Fixed and since there was an hour, he did some adjusting of the other heads.

Worked with me to install several new zones, and designed plan based on current system and how much I wanted to spend. Also corrected damage to existing system that I had tried to get 2 other providers to correct. Did the work quickly and worked with us for timing and pricing. I will use and refer them again.

They were just excellent. I would recommend them to anyone. They were on time, everything you would want in a contractor. They were professional, and they even did a little bit more than you needed them to. They were clean, and they really followed through.

Our experience was very positive with this company. They are a honest business and will make any wrong a right. I would highly recommend Miller Irrigation for both irrigation work and landscape lighting. They know what they are doi ng. The only down side to our experience was waiting for the service.... they must really be busy. It was worth the wait though!
Description of Work: Patio and landscape lighting installed around walkways and uplighting to accent certain trees. Also some additonal irrigation added to a previously installed system with an annual start and shut down of the system.
