Absolutely under no circumstances use Adams Flooring. Shalenday, their office manager, is truly delightful and bends over backwards to support the customer. However, she cannot overcome the inflexibility and lack of concern of their owner, Doug, who refuses to communicate via cell phone and is unwilling to work with the customer on schedules and timing. At the end of the day, I lost $900 for temporary lodging for my family to be out of the house for the job, and had to cancel the contract. Use someone else who is willing to communicate about scheduling problems, and who has at least an ounce of concern for his clients. Stay away from Adams Flooring - it could NOT have been a worse experience. I will now be selling my house without the floors being done because the other contractors are already booked through the end of the year.

Horrible work. After completion of work the floors scratch extremely easy. The stairs do not match and are very blotchy. I have located multiple places where the old stain was never sanded. I paid for the scotia on the stairs to be redone and paid for the service but they have never returned to complete. I have reached out multiple times with 0 responses. Save yourself time and stress. GO A DIFFERENT ROUTE!!

Adams Hardwood were fantastic. They came and showed multiple stain options and worked with us on timing since we were only at the home infrequently. Highly recommended.

The flooring was installed, but the window sills and trim around the floors were damaged from the install, stain marks were left on the walls, dust from cutting the flooring inside the home was left all over the home, our air conditioner unit was set to 64 degrees, and it was hard to get in touch with anyone to come out and fix subsequent buckling and cupping of our floors. We were told we had to pay for time and materials to replace the under-flooring of our living room, and when I arrived unexpectedly, the two Adam's Flooring employees were on my back dock fishing when my floors still hadn't been finished. I now need them to come back to fix a cupping issue and have been blown off and I am continuously calling and emailing to get updates after they give me a time to be there and then they don't show up, or they send me a message after the expected arrival date/time has passed. Our spiral staircase was missing two mounting bolts after they removed them to floor under the mount. Shoddy customer service. Imagine, I had to bug them to obtain their business; that should have been a sign not to use this company.

Doug Adams, owner, was very helpful with the initial consultation.  During our 1st meeting, he spent time explaining everything to us, inquiring as to our preferences, and offered suggestions as to how to make corrections to uneven parts of the floor and staircase.  He went under the house to the crawlspace to inspect the humidity and subflooring.

Doug and his crew were extremely hard working, completing the job in a couple of weeks, which included installation and staining of new stairs.  Doug would also send text/photo updates to show progress.  They were always very neat and clean as they worked, protecting the floors at all times.  Overall, we are very satisfied with the end result and service we received from Adams Hardwood Flooring. Our floors look great and definitely improves the look of the entire house!  We intend to finish off another part of the house later on and will definitely use Adams Hardwood Flooring to complete the work.

They were really really good. The owner came out to the house and helped us pick the color and then he was very helpful making sure that everything was done really really well. So, he was really good. On top of that, we were not here when they were here. When we walked in the house, everything was just right where it should have been. On top of that, while he was doing the work, he sent us pictures of the progress.

The service I received was outstanding.  Doug and his employees were very conscious about ensuring that the installation was perfect.  They arrived early and left late to work on this installation.  Professionalism was tip-top.  He gave me an excellent price for materials.  A much better price than a couple of local floor and tile guys.

Love the final look!  We had existing hardwood that Doug tied into.  Looks really nice and we love the looks of the stairs as well.

Very professional.  At the end of each work day, the tools used were put away neatly, contained in one area.

My husband and I both were very comfortable having Doug and Brad in our home.

I was impressed by the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism demonstrated by Doug and his crew. He was upfront about the cost, possible limitations of the work (getting out sun faded spots), and timeline. He was incredible knowledgeable about his craft and was open about talking about any concerns. The hardwood turned out beautiful with the water based finish he recommended. He was nice enough to call a prior client to show how the color would look. ?We will be refinishing our second floor hardwood and I will not hesitate to call Doug again for our flooring needs. Highly recommended.

The house was built about 1967 and the hardwood floor had never been refinished previously so they were in pretty bad shape with some discoloration. Doug recommended a stain that would make them look good, particularly with the color scheme, i.e., white walls and brown doors throughout. After coming by to measure and then providing the detailed estimate, we stayed in touch to set up the timing for the work to be done.  The crew arrived right on time after lunch on a Thursday. By the time they quit that day, most of the sanding had been completed. They came by Friday morning to finish the detailed sanding and buffing and then applied the stain followed later by the shellac.  By Monday, they had applied all of the finish and replaced the molding.  Result was a floor that looks very good - not quite like new but pretty close and a whole lot better than it looked before the work.  It was also great that Doug and the other guys were all enthusiastic and clearly wanted to make sure I was happy with the work. For example, Doug did test sections to show me what the floor would look like with and without the stain so I can make an educated decision on which to do. Not only did they do good work, but they finished on time and worked with my schedule. My only issue is that I have another house that needs the same kind of work but is located 300 miles away in South Carolina.  I wish they could do it as well!

Mr. Adams was one of three providers interviewed for the work required. His estimate and scope of work needed was mid-ranged and he offered the best hardwood restoration without major construction required by other providers. Mr. Adams is an on-site manager and laborer with his team. His team worked within his quoted schedule on time. At the start of the project, Mr. Adams offered three stain options to cover the stains in the floor. With my friends offering suggestions, he convinced me of the best option. When the work was completed the new stain was amazing, crisp and modern! They removed carpet, tack strips, filled holes, replaced unsalvageable hardwood flooring, sanded, stained and sealed. All debris was removed from site. An amazing restoration!!!

Following hardwood floor restoration, I requested a quote from Mr. Adams to lay porcelain tile in a den. His price was more than fair and he included an attached utility room in his price. It was his idea.  First, he needed to remove carpeting and tack strips.   Not only did he order and pick up the preselected porcelain tile, but he installed it himself. There were two complications which held the work up. My carpenter was still working in the den and the tile was delayed in shipping. Mr. Adams also had the daunting task to remove a solid concrete step attacked to the concrete floor. That said, he managed to moderate his schedule to finish the job before my move date. In this task Mr. Adams and his team removed carpet materials, debris from site. Then Mr. Adams personally did the underpayment, set and grouted the tile, removed the concrete step. The floor pattern made the rooms look larger and was precise. Again an incredible result!!!

Doug Adams and his team did a fabulous job.
We were particularly impressed with how well they were able to match our existing hardwood floors.  In the photo I've uploaded, the downstairs landing and floors are original to the house;  Adams Flooring stained and finished the stair treads.
You'll notice I only gave them a "B" for price.  That is because, while I certainly feel we got our money's worth, I don't feel entirely able to compare.  Most of the pricing information I obtained from the internet: I was only able to get one other actual quote and it was not very detailed.  While I made several other contacts, Doug was the only contractor who took the time to talk with me about our needs and show me what our flooring options were.
Doug and his staff were friendly and they got the job done on time and on budget (except for a $52 upcharge for stain which we were told might be necessary in advance).  They even repaired a split board on my existing hardwood floor.  When I mentioned to Doug that one of our doors was sticking on a new threshold that had been installed, Doug popped by a few days later to shave the door down for us.
We couldn't be happier with the quality of the work or the service.
