Great. Carlos showed up on time, and cleaned my dryer vent both from the exterior and interior of the house, checked to make sure the vent tubing was secure, and explained how I could do some cleaning myself in between the professional servicings. He was knowledgeable and professional.

I am very happy with the work. The guy was professional did a great job. My only complain is that he was leaving without sanitizing and when I asked he said he could do it then and when he prayed the sanitizer, there was lots of drops on my wood floor which I am glad I saw and cleaned instantly.

The person that I spoke with by phone was very courteous and I was able to get an appointment in a short time. the technician arrived on time and proceeded to clean the drier vents. I had to point out, however, that he had a missed a significant part of the drier duct that was clogged by lint. Once I told him, he proceeded to take care of the problem.

Not good; was not effective. Brand new dryer complained that there still was obstruction- Warning light on LG dryer. After he left, attempted to use dryer and it still came back with warning light that the duct was still not clear. Eventually had to have another professional blow out a huge chunk of lint out. Dryer worked fine after that and no warning light; imagine that. I had a feeling it was not going to end well when Carlo called me at the last minute and attempted to cancel the appointment due to weather. I said what weather; it's only light rain and in fact, our duct was under a cement patio on the 10th floor where there weren't any rain to contend with. One of the unprofessional thing he did was to immediately asked where he could plug his cell phone in to charge then ask to use the bathroom. Needless to say, this was a failure. Maybe he wasn't equipped to work on a 10th floor Condo but he should have told us that if that was the case. He never removed the duct from the dryer and see what was going on there, but used a device that entered from the exhaust and attempted to blow air in and out of the same hole. I don't think that is as effective on wet lint in our case.

Brendon arrived on time. He explained the work that is expected to be done. He was very thorough, professional, and friendly. I would recommend and use them again.

It went all-right at first but then a bunch of dust got pumped into the house instead of out of it. These things happen and it wasn't a huge deal.

It went fine. The person arrived late, but did a good job of inspecting and cleaning. However, I was unhappy with the company because I also signed up for a duct cleaning. After two more visits to my house, they determined that they could not do the duct cleaning because they didn't have the right equipment. I wasn't happy that I didn't find this out until the third visit. They did not seem to mind that I had taken three days off work. Nor were they concerned that I would have to try on my own to get a refund from Angie's List (which I never received). Very cavalier attitude so I would not hire again, even though the chimney inspection and cleaning was fine.

I haven’t had any complaints so all is good. I would use them for any cleaning I need.

the ducts were not fully cleaned: they remained clogged and we had to unclog them ourselves after they left.

Brandon came out in the time frame that was scheduled. He was very polite, informative of the procedure to be done. Also he gave different tips on how to properly maintain the dryer vent. He answered all questions asked of him. I would definitely use them again.

Excellent. Brandon performed the service and was extremely professional. He explained the process and his equipment, and even pointed out which areas of our furnace he would be hooking up his equipment to. Wonderful to work with him. Will definitely hire again in the future!

Beware. A Disaster. Appointment was Thursday 12/8 between 12-2. Forget the frustration on how they failed to use my correct phone number to alert me when they were arriving, the much bigger issue is that they created an unbelievable nightmare that left me with an entire first floor living area covered in blown creosote soot: floors, furniture, carpets. The technician, Eric, was polite and conscientious, but did not seem very experienced. (Warning #1). I had rolled back carpets and furniture and cleared everything away from hearth. His chimney cleaning equipment looked like it was left over from the Mary Poppins movie. Just a long telescopic stick with a dinky wire brush at the end- but motorized. He had no covering for the fireplace area, not even a drop cloth!! THEN, Eric brings in a dirty Wet-Dry Vac (canister vacuum). I asked him " is THIS what you are using!!??" He said yes, and showed how it is hooked up to the long wire brush attachment. The brush dislodges creosote build-up in the chimney and sends it into the attached vacuum. When I asked what happens with debris that doesn't go into the vacuum he said "it just falls down into the bottom of the hearth". He had inspected the chimney with lights and told me it had some build-up but it was not bad or unusual. Note: If any of you have ever used a Wet-Dry Vac, you know from experience that if the washable filter is not cleaned-out or washed regularly, stuff sucked up just billows back out through the large exhaust. I was incredulous that he was using a Wash-Dry for this job, pointed to the exhaust, asked him when the filter was last cleaned. He said he didn't know, the owner handled equipment maintenance. At that point I should have said STOP, leave. Because I arranged to leave work in the middle of the day and it took 3 rescheduled appointments to get the company to my house, i instead told him to start the process and let's see what happens. I'm an idiot. So, here's the bottom line: You ALWAYS get what you pay for. ALWAYS. If your gut tells you this is not going to work, trust your gut. And because I didn't listen to my own advice, I now have a cleaning company arriving tomorrow to wash creosote dust out of my first floor hardwood floors, carefully vacuum my walls and furniture and carpets before this black soot gets ground-in. The cleaning cost is over $300. My Oriental carpets had just been cleaned and delivered in early November. I've had chimney cleaning many times in houses I've owned. Amazing vacuum equipment that goes up into the chimney with all work done behind large hearth coverings and drop cloths. This is the first time for a chimney cleaning in Maryland. "Duct Clean 1974" should be tagged with a skull &a cross bones disaster label. No, I did not contact them to request clean-up. I don't want to listen to their liability BS and I don't want them anywhere near my house. Ever.

I paid for the Angie's List deal to have my dryer vent cleaned. The service did not contact me to set up an appointment. I had to call them. The appointment was scheduled. (I don't remember the date now, it was so long ago.) I was driving to meet a friend when I received a call from Duct Clean 1974 telling me they were on their way. I told them they had the wrong date. They argued that I was wrong. They would not reschedule while I had them on the phone. I waited several weeks for some sort of contact with them and finally called their office. No one is ever in their office. I left a message. I did receive a call back fairly quickly and scheduled an appointment for 12/9 between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. This was inconvenient for me since I am only at home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 12/9 is a Friday. I had to reschedule my work and drive 40 miles in order to be here for the appointment by 11:00. I was willing to do this to get the vent cleaned as it had not been cleaned in several years. The man I spoke with said that he was on a call and could not write down the appointment information. He asked me to text it to him so that he would have it when he got back to the office and could put it in the appointment book. I did that and thank goodness I did, because I have an actual trail that confirms the appointment was for 12/9 between 11 and 1. On 12/9, I left work to make sure I made it back by 11:00. I texted the same person on the same text trail to confirm they would be there between 11 and 1. He asked what the address was (even though it was in the text). Then he texted that the appointment was for the following Monday. I asked him to look at the text trail because that was incorrect. I then copied and pasted the text trail back to him, in case he had deleted it on his end. He said I was wrong. He did offer to send someone between 3 and 5, but I had a conflicting appointment at that time. I told him to cancel the Monday appointment and give me my money back. This company has some serious back office problems. I wound not recommend using them for any of the services they offer because of this.

After I contacted them to schedule an appointment, they called me and cancelled in 2 occasions.They never showed up for the third appointment scheduled. Real unprofessional company do not deal with these people.

It took a while to get on the schedule and our first scheduled date had to be moved because of a same-day personal emergency with the technician. A month and some change after I bought the deal a technician was able to come out, and he was very professional and knowledgeable. So it may take a while to get them to come out, but I felt comfortable with them in my home and as far as I can tell the job was done well. The technician also helped reattach a dryer duct that was barely hanging on. Thanks!

The technician arrived on time and after assessing what needed to be done he proceeded to clean out the vent. Our dryer is near the front of the house; however it is vented out of the back of the house. The duct is pretty long (maybe 30 feet or so), Nevertheless he thoroughly cleaned it out all the way back to the dryer. We were very pleased.

They called twice already to cancel, and then they had an appointment today and it was a no call, no show, and I had a nanny here all day, and no one showed up.

Service tech was prompt, explained everything he was doing, and seemed to be very thorough. The appointment was deferred a couple of times at the last minute but in the end the service was well-done.

Overall, the service was very good. The gentleman who showed up was very professional, very nice and explained everything very well. He worked quickly and even spent a bit of time explaining a portion of the chimney that would need to be replaced in a few years. The only bad mark here would be the punctuality. The work was done in the fall/winter time frame, which is usually the busy time for chimney company's. That said, they said between 12-2 and he was about 30 minutes late. I would have appreciated a phone call. Not the end of the world, but it would have gone a long way in my opinion.

When I made the appointment; I spoke to Carlo - the owner and who I schedule the appointment with. He was rude. I called Angie's List and told them that he was unprofessional and hard to understand because of his accent. The Angie's List rep called him and asked what was going on. The rep called me back saying that the owner admitted rushing me off the line because he had another call. He admitted he was curt. I called Carlo again to schedule the appointment. Carlo told me the tech would call 1/2 before he came to give me a heads up. On 12/3 - I didn't get a call and the tech just showed up. The gentleman was very friendly. We walked around the house to show him where the vents were. I asked him about the dryer vent and if mine was too long. He said yes and he could cut it for me. He started the job. Before he came, my house had been vacuumed and swept. While he was doing the job; I was in another room and I noticed dust and debris where he had worked. I went to where he was working. I noticed it on that carpet on the staircase. I was vacuuming it up. I stopped him to ask what the white stuff in the air was. He told me it was drywall. I'm seeing debris, dust, etc. coming from my vent where he was working. I was told there wouldn't be any debris and nothing escapes because of the equipment he was using. He didn't have any video camera to show me the ducts were dirty before. He left all this rubbish in the parking spot where he had parked which I knew was clean. In every room, by the vents where he had worked; there was a coating of debris by the vents that was not there before. For example; the bathroom fan is above my sink. And there was a coating of dust and debris in the sink that was not there before he came. There was no way he could have missed it. All rooms required a deep cleaning after he left because of the mess he left. My allergist and primary care doctor told me because of my allergies; before you turn on your furnace - make sure you get your ducts cleaned. Because they couldn't do the work until 12/3, I was afraid to turn on the furnace because you have 12 years of debris in the vents. That added more salt to the wound and made me infuriated. I was looking forward to doing this because I knew after I could turn my heat on.
