We wanted a finished basement in time for our daughter's wedding to provide additional entertainment area for house guests and visitors . The owner of the company, Mr. Betts, and his lead contractor, Chris, met with us and were exceptionally friendly and professional. After listening to our vision and timeline for this project, they walked the space with us, and discussed options to maximizes both user and entertainment value. They end result is a finished basement that we are 100% satisfied with in quality, layout, and timeline to completion. We received many compliments both during and since the wedding. Thank you Dee Bee Home Improvements! The contract outlined a detailed plan of what work would be done, what materials would be used, when work would be completed and a payment schedule. The crews were professional, polite, and cleaned up after each work day. Chris kept us informed during the whole process, and would walk the space with us as different phases of the project were completed. They were very flexible in adjusting the design as work progressed such as additional shelving, outlets, half walls and other amenities to improve the layout. The work started on time and was finished on schedule despite a couple of snow days. What we liked best about this experience was that Chris made himself available to answer all questions and concerns throughout the process. I would recommend Dee Bee Home Improvements to anyone interested in a home improvement project. You will not be disappointed!

Met with both Dan Betts and Chris the site manager and felt very comfortable right from the start. We mostly worked with Chris and some of the other contractors to get the basement just the way we wanted it. We were very satisfied with the responsiveness of both Chris and the DeeBee contractors. They delivered on everything that they said they would and if there were any issues with any phase of the basement finishing process Chris would respond and correct the issue. DeeBee was very easy to work with and kept to the schedule for the project. We would definitely recommend DeeBee for any basement finishing or renovation work. 03/15We recommend Dee Bee Construction very highly. We recently used them for a significant addition to our second house. Dan Betts met with us to discuss the concept that we had for the addition and helped us develop the addition in just the way that we wanted it. Then Dan with his designer developed the plans and helped get the plans approved by the HOA as well as all of the county permits. It was then construction time and everyone that worked on our project was friendly, courteous, neat (they always cleaned up after themselves), and most importantly the workmanship was great. Dan along with Chris, the main construction manager, were very responsive to us when we had any questions and kept us informed, including emailing pictures, of the progress since we were not around to see the progress on a daily basis. As with any construction there were a number of questions that came up about possible additions to the original plan. Whenever we asked, Dan and/or Chris responded and addressed our issues and figured out how to meet our requests and often coming up with a better idea then we had. We are very happy with the addition, the workmanship in the construction, the responsiveness of Dan and Chris, and the warranty that if there are any problems in the future they will come back and fix them.

I just moved to Virginia from New York city. I thought getting scammed in New York would be the only place that would happen. I didn't think that could happen down here in Virginia. After several contractors visiting my home for an estimates I didn't feel comfortable with any of them. I came across Dee Bee on best contractors for basements in the area his Company popped up. I checked out his ratings under the BBB and they were good. The owner Dan came to my home sat down and explained the whole process to me. I felt comfortable with them and the price was more than fare. I must say the work that was done was more than I expected, and the quality of craftsmanship is out of this world. From start to finish I had no idea what to expect. The recommendations they provide me with was spot on. I've had nothing but compliments from the middle of the project to the end from family, and friend. At this time I have 2 family members that would love to use Dee Bee services . To know the quality of work that your getting backed up with a lifetime guarantee couldn't sell you anymore. On behalf of my family, and I we would like to thank you Dee Bee, and there for there services. Just a foot note to deal with a customer like isn't easy.

They advertise for lots of things but Aparantly only do basements. I guess they don't do small work. Pls correct ad

Work went well and on-time. Had some touch up issues afterwards which were completely taken care of with no hassle at all. I would highly recommend anyone to use Dan and his company - it was all fantastic. The only remiss I can think of was that I did not provide this feedback earlier! All on me - my bad!! Do not hesitate to use DeeBee for any of your restoration needs.

I had contemplated finishing the basement myself. I'm so glad I didn't. This was a total refinish. We started with bare walls and concrete floors. These guys REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Basement remodels is all that they do. The estimate was MUCH lower than the competitors. The project was estimated and even with some of the minor modifications there was no increase in pricing. Chris McNalley and his crews were AWESOME. There is no sub work here. DeeBee employs all of the tradesmen. A very solid and professional crew. The job was completed in a logical and speedy succession. As the project was evolving the crews from DeeBee had some ideas of how to improve on the existing plans. We agreed and let them proceed. So glad we did, the flow and look is perfect. All their work is guaranteed! What more could you ask for??

They have good reviews and I spoke with the owner and got a good impression. The work turned out very good.

Dan and Chris took a look at the area and provided an estimate while they were here. The primary reason we went with them was their reputation - reviews, local, etc. The secondary reason was price. We were quoted double and 1.5x their price for, as best as we can tell, the same quality. They listened to our concerns and wishes and gave an honest opinion on whether certain elements were worth the money, where we could save and how much, etc. They have a pretty standard, but well-equipped, template for what they do and what they don?t do, what they provide and what they don?t. There weren?t any surprises. We installed some of our own network/audio that they didn't do - although they assisted wherever they could (pretty much anything that involved structure, etc.) and certainly addressed any questions or issues. The whole project took around 6 weeks and the basement looks and functions perfectly. We got what we wanted for a price we were happy with. As far as the actual process, after the initial consultation, Chris took over a few initial and final checks and occasional inspections of progress. A sub crew came in to do the framing and another followed quickly with drywall. After that, the much longer process of ?the rest? started - trim, doors, eventually priming walls, bathroom installation, tile bathroom floor, etc. A lot of the final stages were completed by Scott, who also professionally installed cabinetry we ordered separately. We are very happy with the completed project. And I?m confident that if we have questions or concerns, Dee Bee will be available to address anything that comes up. All in all, without question highly recommended.

They came out and did an amazing job. Really good experience, I had a lot of questions and they were very helpful and got the job done right. We recommended them to a friend. They did everything from plumbing to electric. They were awesome.

We are EXTREMELY happy with the work DeeBee provided. They were professional at all times, paying attention to promptness, cleanliness during construction, and the workmanship was excellent. DeeBee met all schedule and work commitments from the beginning of their work. Each day they cleaned the basement of all trash and construction debris and even took care to protect our yard from damage of foot traffic carrying construction materials. For the items we separately purchased and provided, they helped with selecting the right size plumbing equipment and even picked up the equipment we purchased to save us from delivery charges. They were also flexible during the project, agreeing to changes to make certain we would be satisfied with the final product. There was no increase in contract price for changes. The finished basement is very well lighted with more than adequate recessed dimable light fixtures installed. A wet bar was installed with cabinets and microwave. The project manager was in constant contact with us. He was there on day 1 to explain what work would be started and introduced us to the framing supervisor and crew. He walked us thru the intended layout to make sure we were comfortable with the floor plan and offered some suggestions for improvements. He was always available and responsive to text messages and phone calls. In addition to the project manager, we were always made aware of the work crew supervisor and all were courteous and very professional. DeeBee placed a lock on the door to our upstairs to allow work to proceed without interruption. They were very mindful of our schedules when we needed to have face to face communication and all progress payments went smoothly because work was completed on time without deficiencies or other reasons to delay payment. We can't say enough about the work and personal attention we received from DeeBee and recommend them without any hesitation.

Everything went really well, from beginning to end... and then some! Called DeeBee to make an appointment to get an estimate on time and cost of work to be done. First, they were really accommodating on a time to meet. It is difficult for me to miss work, so Dan came out to my house early evening and discussed the job. He was very thorough, and itemized all of the estimates of both time and cost associated with the job. This was very important to me, since I was weary of these "unexpected" costs you hear so much about, or work on my house going on and on. He answered all of my questions. After that, I saw Dan again on the day work began. He handed the job to his associate Chris. Chris was going to be the contact/go-2-guy for the duration of the work. Chris was great. Always explained things. What work was being done, what the schedule was looking like, etc. The job went very smoothly, and any messages I sent to Chris, he relayed them to the men doing the work. I can think of a few times during the process when I had a few questions or concerns. Whenever I called Chris, if he did not answer his phone immediately, he called me back within the hour. We communicated a lot via email, which I prefer, and again, he always responded promptly. In All, the process went very smoothly. I have been using the finished space since it was completed. I am 100% satisfied with the work, but more than that, I believe DeeBee's level of customer service went above and beyond to make sure their customer was comfortable with everything they were doing. **On an additional note that speaks to the company's dedication to their clients. It had been almost a year since they completed their work on my basement, when I decided to start putting up Christmas lights and triggered the GFCI that leads to my outside electrical outlets. I spent the good part of 2 days trying to find the circuit. Finally at wits end, I contacted an electrician, who wanted to charge me over $100 just to come out and look. I decided to call Chris, thinking that the GFCI is typically located in the basement, and his electrician likely did something with it, or knew where it might be. This is a year later, mind you, but Chris said "no problem". He could have just as easily said, "yeah, but for a fee", or "no, I'm sorry. We are just too busy". I wouldn't have faulted him one bit. But he didn't. Sent his electrician over the same day, and we finally found it! I guess the point I am trying to make is, if you hire these guys, they will continue to be helpful after the job is done.

Dan's team of professionals worked like machines. Very professional and quick. The price was well below other contractors, but their quality was top of the line. I would definitely keep them in mind for any additional work I may have in the future.

Dee Bee's employees are top notch and very friendly. From the company owner (Dan) to the guy who does spackling, my wife and I were treated with the utmost respect. Unlike other contractors that I have dealt with in the past, this company had great work ethic and came to the job site early and left late as well. We have a birth of a baby coming soon and needed the project to be completed faster than typically asked for and they are finishing up even earlier than anticipated. Also, the quality of work has been superb. I know enough about finishing basements to realize when someone is cutting corners. These guys went above and beyond of what I expected and wanted from a contractor. Kudos to the team at Dee Bee! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to my project!

We contracted Dee Bee to finish our basement, first of all, because of the professionalism and kindness we received during our first meeting with the owner, Dan Betts. Mr. Betts listened to our wish list and ideas and explained to us how he would complete the project and gave us an estimate right there during our first meeting, instead of making us wait several weeks like all the other contractors. During our second meeting Mr. Betts brought his Project Manager, Chris, to meet with us and discuss the project. A few days later, the basement was started. Our basement project was completed in less time than was expected. If you are looking to have some construction work done, I would highly recommend Dee Bee Home Improvements. They have been in business a very long time and are very skillful. All of their employees are friendly and will go out of their way to do a good job! In fact, when the flooring was being delivered the workers were eager to help my husband carry 37 boxes down a flight of stairs to the basement, which wasn't part of their job since we were installing our own flooring. We are just thrilled with the way our basement turned out and we will definitely use Dee Bee Home Improvements in the future and will refer other people to them. Our experience with Dee Bee Home Improvements was very positive. We had a large unfinished basement and a long list of wants all of which needed to be done on a budget. The finished product met all of our expectations. From start to finish they were always professional, willing to answer your questions , offer suggestions while providing quality workmanship. If you are looking for an honest, professional company that does a great job for a good price, then you should stop looking and call Dan Betts (the owner of Dee Bee Home Improvements). Dan is a genuinely great guy. He is extremely knowledgable and will give you an estimate on the day he first meets you (unlike all the other companies who took days or weeks to provide an estimate). We received estimates from numerous companies that all came in thousands of dollars higher than Dan's. Dan stands by his product from start to finish and is always available when you need him. We could not be happier with our new basement. I encourage you to call Dan for an estimate before you start your project.

We cannot be happier with Dan and his company!! The work was superb and fast. All of the staff was extremely friendly and professional. Any issues we had were dealt with in a timely manner and corrected to our complete satisfaction. We had our entire basement finished with a bathroom and bedroom, we told Dan and his staff exactly what we wanted and they delivered beyond our expectations. I was formerly in the real estate market and knowing when finishing a basement it has to feel as much like the rest of the house as possible and they delivered, you truly cannot tell you are in a basement. All permits were pulled as well as inspections done. If you are going to finish a basement this is the way to go to get max value out of your investment. Dee Bee did a great job. The entire staff was professional and courteous. Whenever we had an issue all we had to do is call Dan or Chris and they got back to us in a timely manner and answered all our concerns. (Linda the office manager was great also very professional) We even made some changes during the process and never once were we made to feel like we were inconveniencing them. The workers cleaned up after themselves daily so there was no mess left behind for you. When we cleaned out the basement before the job was started we had a lot of boxes and junk that we did not know what to do with. Dan said no problem we will remove it all and they did without any questions. Some was dumped and other stuff they said they donated Whenever we have new projects in the future we will definitely be calling DeeBee. Thank You

From the initial contact with Dan we felt that we could trust him and that Dee Bee would be a good fit for our home improvements. After drafting up the layout we began to work with Chris for the remainder of the process. Anything that we had a vision for they accommodated and brought to life. All of the workers were very professional. We also made changes along the way and Chris never gave us any push back. All of our ideas were welcomed and worked through to ideal solutions. The basement looks amazing and I couldn't imagine it being any better. We got other quotes, and none compared to the low price of Dee Bee. The quality is not affected by the price whatsoever. Great management and great product.

Very sweet and respectful. The best part was that they were very family oriented. Any questions or issues, they were out in a minute. Very happy with our finished product. They even did our next door neighbors basement too. Oh and they moved all our stuff for us SO we didn't have to break our back. Worth every penny.

The work and service DeeBee Home Improvements provided was excellent. The quality was apparent during the first visit by the owner, Dan Betts, to assess the extent of the job and provide an estimate. We had put together a very basic drawing of what we wanted to do. He was able to verify that the plan was doable and provide an initial ball-park figure (which almost exactly tracked to the final estimate) at that time. He was very clear about the services his company provided, specifically the framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC ductwork, insulation, painting and the installation of plumbing and lighting fixtures, cabinets, and replacement door of our choosing (including choice of paint colors). During this first visit, he also answered all our questions and provided answers to some we had not even thought to ask. He walked us through the informational package he brought for us, which among other things clearly specified the type of materials he used, staff and subcontractor credentials, his company?s insurance and handling of permit requirements, and job scheduling and process. Obviously competent, Dan also has a genuine warmth of manner and unfailing courtesy. In fact we found this same courtesy was characteristic of every single member of his construction crew. Once we made our decision and signed the contract, Dan met with us again, bringing the manager of our project, Chris, with him to do the measurements. Within days, we got a drawing from which we were able to agree on a few modifications, which significantly enhanced the use of space. The initial, most helpful, no-charge service provided by the DeeBee crew was assistance in clearing the workspace which entailed the crew?s removal of all material and items for disposal which, based on our specification, they transported either to a disposal facility or delivered to the Goodwill (returning to us the receipt provided for donated goods). They then moved all the large items remaining (inclusive of a universal exercise machine and some pieces of furniture) into the part of the basement that was to remain unfinished and cordoned off that entire space with heavy plastic that quite effectively secured it from construction dirt and dust. The work proceeded on schedule. During the initial phases, we were able to make a few minor framing changes at no extra charge. Each crew cleaned up as they did the work. In fact, the area was kept remarkable clean during the entire process, which was a really big plus for us. Chris was also excellent at integrating his schedule around delivery of our cabinets, appliances, plumbing and lighting fixtures, and replacement door as well as our other contracted work (closet, bathroom and office built-ins, and countertop, tile and flooring installation). The few glitches that came up were minor, handled immediately and at no additional cost to us. All and all it was a smooth construction experience.

My wife and I did not want (nor did we have the budget for) an exotic, over-the-top finished basement. Just the basics: walls, lights, electric and a bathroom. From the start the folks at DeeBee gave us a good (very detailed) estimate, helped us with our design/floor plan and kept us informed consistently along the way to make sure we were satisfied with the work as it went along. Since our remodel was basic and our budget rather small, DeeBee suggested we do the painting and get estimates for the carpeting. They kept us informed of the construction schedule to let us know exactly when to get these done. Could they have done these projects? Absolutley, but knowing our budget it was suggested that these areas were where we could save some money. Some other highlights: DeeBee put up a temporary fence to keep our dogs safely away from the "construction entrance" of the house and prevent escape from the fenced in yard. Came in $4,000 under the estimate of another contractor for our egress window. Put in an extra light and outlet in our storage area at no charge. I could text Chris, the DeeBee supervisor, and get an immediate response, even at 7am. The ONLY quibble I had would be the last 5% of the project went a little longer that we expected. That might have been our delay in painting ourselves and the carpet install, but it got a bit frustrating to see it almost done and not be able to fully "move in". We are extremely happy with the finished product. If you want a straight forward, professional (dare I say honest?) contractor for finishing a basement you really can't go wrong with DeeBee.
