Barnabas Ko Construction Company

We decided to hire BKCC to fix top trip piece of our siding because it had started to come loose and was scraping the roof of our neighbors house. With the severity of the issue and not wanting to cause damage to our neighbors roof we went with BKCC because they had the quickest turn around time for parts and getting the job done. They were able to give me a quote over the phone with just pictures and gave me a week turn around time. I distinctly asked the lady if they took American Express. She assured me yes. That?s when the issues started. A week goes by and nothing. I contacted them. They still hadn?t got the siding piece in yet. That following Saturday they got it in were able to come out Sunday and install. Install went fine until the installer didn?t know anything about payment. Get a call a few hours later for payment give her my Amex card information and we ended the call. About 30 minutes later I get a text that they no longer take Amex and I needed to call with another form of payment, after I already confirmed they took Amex. That got settled and everything was fine. Until a few days later they pieces they added started to bubble. To make a long story short. I have contacted them 3 times and they have still not come out to look, replace or repair this piece.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. They did our roof a few months ago and they did a great job, so when we needed new siding and gutters we called them and scheduled the work. The day they were supposed to come no one showed up, so we called Mr Ko. He came over and then explained they were not coming. Then we found out that the estimate he gave was only for siding, not the trim (we told him we wanted everything replaced, so do not know why there was confusion). The new estimate was double. We were very frustrated but decided to still use them. Then after lots of back and forth making sure they understood exactly what we needed (there was still lots of confusion), they scheduled and rescheduled several times. Then they finally showed up and started the job. The crew was rude and worked very slow, often leaving for several hours at a time. One day was cancelled for extreme weather, and they left everything in our yard despite 50 mph wind gusts. Finally the second day they finished and after they left I realized they put the numbers back up on our house off center and one of the numbers was crooked (it looked ridiculous). I emailed them and they came right back out and fixed it. They told me they would be back Monday (it was Sat), because even though the job was done, they decided to leave ALL of their ladders, siding, boxes, screws, scaffolding, etc, in my yard. Then that night I went to deadbolt the door, and it did not work....they messed up our door while replacing the siding. We had them come back out Monday morning. The crew was very rude, and tried to rush out of there. Mr Ko tried to pick up the check earlier but we told him we were not paying until he made it right. The crew just kept asking for the check. They somewhat fixed the door (it still is not the same and is hard to lock), so we paid and they left. We will never use them again, and cannot recommend them to anyone else.

This is an excellent company

I hired Mr, Ko to repair four windows because of water leakage and to replace six, along with a new roof. I still have water leakage on the 4 windows. He assured he would be able to repair the leakage, however, his window contractor has been back 3 different times to fix the leakage that was already repair. thus, I must hired true window repair contractor to fix the problem. All Mr. Ko and his crew keeps blaming previous contractor, but I hired him to fix their problem not to point out. SO NO, I would not recommend them. I have to hire a different contractor to follow up on all the window repair they did at my home.

I am very happy with the quality of the windows. The reason I give them 4 stars, is because what made me want to replace the windows is that the windows down sills were rotten (the windows were 30 years old) and water was dripping down the wall through the sills. I informed the owner the day he came to the house to give us an estimate, but when the technicians came for the installation, they claimed not to know anything about the windows sills replacement, for which had brought no new wood. For me the whole point was to change the window sills, a d of course get efficient windows, and I would see, had I not be at the house during the installation, whether they would have changed the sills or not. For the rest, they did a good job.

Excellent service from Mr Ko We had to add a bit of extra work because of size and he accommodated the revision with a very fair adjustment of price. He reviewed the work as it progressed and the final product. We had 3very large picture windows replaced. I Can really recommend this company. Thank you Mr Ko.

We started on the wrong foot as we scheduled a measuring session and no one called or showed. But once we rescheduled, the windows were ordered quickly, they came on time to install them, and the work looks beautiful.

Mr. Kim and his crew did an outstanding job under some tough conditions. They were dependable, hard working and diligent in providing the best work I have seen in years! Their work is meticulous and they do not cut corners. I strongly recommend Barnabas Ko's company.

Great contractor

Everything you'd wish for in a project of this sort.

Project included both new siding and windows. Result and experience was excellent on all levels from beginning to end. Mr. Ko's team provided the best service at the best price which equals the best value by far. He furnished two pages of references (which no other company did) and everyone I contacted gave Mr. Ko very positive reviews. His quote was very clear and well itemized. All the work was completed in three days. Great job!

After interviewing other window contractors, I found Mr. Ko's price to be the best and he was very nice to work with. They also replaced one of our neighbor's windows so I stopped by and found they were very happy with the work done. We ended up changing out all 20 windows and also added a storm door. Work was done beautifully and I am very satisfied with the result.

Mr. Ko was prompt and his staff was courteous. Quotes were reasonable and completed work in professional manner. Only reason for four star is due to trim matching issue for which windows were remained unfinished for several days and we were nervous if the right color will be found and agreed upon...... But Mr. Ko did made an effort to resolve the issue to our satisfaction and windows looking great at the end. Overall will recommend and hire them again for future needs.

Great fix and great price

Mr. Ko arrived within 1.5 hours of my call. He is a very pleasant man and his assistant was skillful. The assistant even noticed an additional spot that needed attention and promptly took care of it. Mr. Ko did not increase the fee even with the extra work. I will use this company for any additional work in the future.
