They were quick, clean, courteous and fair.

In October, we put in a request for some electrical work. We got a call right away from CRH Electric and they showed up in about two hours. We loved the speed and promptness. They asked what we wanted done and we said a general overview of the house electrical system. They responded, "You just tell me what you want fixed, and that's want we do." I was not sure what the real issues were so we did point out some outlets that we're not working. They got to work fast, pointed out a Federal Pacific panel that was a fire hazard and completed the agreed upon projects and a new electrical panel in short order. They even said they would tighten up one outlet off the books. More on that later. They came back a few days later to put part of the kitchen on a separate breaker. We love that they addressed a issue that we had. At this point, I could have given them a very good review for the work they did but..... It turns out they just copied the old breaker box labels for the new box without testing anything. It was very wrong. We tested and noted the correct labels. We noticed the outlet that he fixed for free was loose. We take the cover off and saw the screws holding the receptacle were loose. We decided to look inside and there was so much bare wire showing! They had sort of wrapped the outlet with electrical tape to make things better, but it was easy to trim the wire to the right length. But then we see something in the back of the box. Whoa! It's some un-capped wires! On top of that, the box was loose in the wall. We put one screw in the side on the box to make it firm, cap off the mystery wires, install the receptacle and put the cover back on. They had replaced another outlet that we also found to be loose. Again, we could have just tighten one screw, but we looked inside the box. Two more issues with this one. They put in a 15A outlet on a 20A circuit and they used a copper only outlet on aluminum wires. We installed the copper to aluminum connectors and a 20A outlet. We then checked the next outlet on the circuit that they replaced. It was a 20A outlet, but it was made for copper and the aluminum was connected directly to the outlet. The last outlet they replaced was a GFCI that is outside. We have not opened that box, but we can see they used a standard version rather than a Weather Resistant version. This company was not a good fit for what we needed. They addressed the outlets that were not functioning and did the work quickly. They pointed out a Federal Pacific panel that has known problems, but then installed copper outlets on aluminum wires which is just plain wrong. What we wanted was a professional electrician that had the knowledge and skill to fix the current problems and guard against future issues of our electrical system. Had some weird electrical voodoo in the 6 year-old house we purchased a few months back. Turns out the original electrical contractor was less than professional. CRH was able to find issues with several different circuits and in the panel box, itself. Although I didn't expect all of the corrections the same day, that is what I got!
