Both the individuals that came out were very professional and completed the job on schedule and within budget.

We used a Moss Handy Man to complete some the work in a bathroom that we were remodeling ourselves. Brian was on-time, worked hard, and made sure to ask questions if there was any ambiguity for the task. The work they performed was top notch, professional, and of high-quality. I will certainly use them again.

From the beginning of the service until the end of the service there was nothing but exceptional service. We had some hiccups along the way and they handled everything with care and plenty of compassion. There was never a time that I couldn't get ahold of the site supervisor or anyone working on my project. This was the first time my husband and I had work done outside of a builder done. Thank goodness we chose Moss they were amazing to work with much easier than the builder. This company really takes care of their customers. Every single person that came into my home was professional and respectful. There is not one negative thing I could say about my experience.

All went well. The technician was on time and performed all work requested. He even offered to help with a project I was working. Additionally, he provided some insight to other work I was contemplating. Overall, a good experience.

I had a large piece of butcher block that needed to be cut down to create a counter top for my laundry room. He completed that task as well as installation. There was some time left over so he came back at a later date to do some caulking around the house that i needed done.

It went excellent and he was a handyman and did a good job. He was punctual, professional, and he was the only person who was able to fix the doors. I was very impressed.

Things were outstanding. There were multiple crews. There was one overall contractor who brought in the plumbers, the electricians, and the timber guys.

The job was done very professionally, under budget, took less than the estimated time. The carpenter, Steve Stevens, did an excellent job, everything was as expected or better.

The project was a huge success. We were extremely selective when choosing a contractor, conducting extensive research on Angie's List and other websites and then interviewing a half-dozen contractors. We ultimately got bids from 5 of them, and we chose Moss, which was neither the highest bid nor the lowest, but right in the middle. Moss exceeded our expectations. Most of all, we knew these were guys we could trust to do the job right and keep up their end of the deal. The end result was terrific, and it has transformed our house. We felt very fortunate to get the crew (Ryan, Dave, and Jaime) and Project Manager (Matt) we were assigned. While the project was delayed slightly beyond the target date, that was due in large part to the fact that we added multiple items (e.g., built-ins in two rooms) to the scope of work after the project started. We would highly recommend Moss to anyone who is considering an addition on their house. Additions are their bread and butter, and I doubt you could find a company in NoVa who has more experience in building additions or more satisfied customers. Hats off to Moss.

Moss provided helpful, competent and pleasant service from start to finish. Their designer, Erin, was willing to meet with us outside of her work hours when we could not meet her schedule. She took pictures explained, and reworked designs with a smile, as we worked through to a final product. Bob, the project manager, checked in daily to see that work was progressing to his standards which were high! He was available by phone to answer questions and update us. The workers were thourough, started on time and cleaned up all messes every day. In addition they were pleasant and patient with our questions. Our experience with Moss was a good one and we would recommend them highly!

The pantry in our kitchen is shallow and was originally fitted with sliding doors. We wanted to expand the opening in order to replace with standard doors that would open out allowing us to access the entire pantry at one time. We also wanted to install fixed shelving inside the pantry. Stan showed up promptly as scheduled and got right to work identifying what would be the best way to accomplish what I wanted to achieve. After a short assessment, we discussed my at options and decided on a workable plan. He then sent me off to Home Depot with a detailed list of exactly what I would need and how much to purchase. By the time I returned he had already pulled out the old pantry doors and mixed shelving and was ready for the install. Stan's work was fantastic. He provided me with options that would keep my budget right where I wanted it to be and was very efficient with his time and materials and kept a very clean worksite. We would definitely hire them again to perform any carpentry work we needed to have done!

The representative came and hardly asked any question, behaved totally uninterested. Before leaving, the representative said that "MOSS may not be for me if I was comparing estimates based on price because they provided design services". While that may all be true, she sure made us feel bad, undeserving of their services. No customer representative should make a potential customer feel like that. Simply put, it's unprofessional and unkind. Needles to say, she never sent or contacted me with an estimate, though she said she'll send one in the 1-2 weeks.

I love Moss! I have purchased two "deals" of 8 hours of Handyman work & have had all those little nitnoy things that you want to do, but never seem to have the time or energy to do completed by Moss Handymen. The people that came to do the work, were fantastic, helpful, capable and most of all were able to come when I needed them to, so I didn't have to take additional time off of work. One of the gentlemen even took the time to explain the functioning of a GFI plug & how it was connected to an outside outlet that didn't work--something I was about to get replaced, but didn't need to! I have been really pleased with the quality of the work and the friendliness of the people, not only that do the actual work, but that help with the scheduling. I will definitely use these guys again.

They did a terrific job. The work was done in three hours.

The Experience: Stan arrived at our house on time. After we explained our project, he didn't waste any time getting set up and getting to work. He worked diligently through the day and installed the new moulding in our living room, kitchen, hall, and master bedroom. A master carpenter, he gave us recommendations on how to creatively solve the door trim challenge without replacing all the door jambs and trim. Knowing we were DIYers, Stan asked if we would like him to install and finish the trim or just install the trim and leave some of the finishing touches to us (filling nail holes). I was grateful that he gave us the option to let him focus the carpentry work that we didn't have the skills or tools to accomplish. As a result, the extra time enabled him to install new moulding in our master bedroom (a task that we didn't think there would be time to do). In my opinion that was a much better use of his time than filling nail holes with putty. We were very pleased with the quality of work Stan did and the experience with Moss.

The Moss Company handled our project to add a needed accessible extension to our home with great competence in all areas. From the architects who drew up the plans to the plumbers, electricians, and all others associated with the project were thoroughly qualified. Work proceeded quickly with no delays and with full consultation with my wife and I on all aspects. Minor problems that came up were swiftly dealt with. A few required last minute changes were promptly incorporated into the work. An understandable post completion soil compaction matter around the foundation was corrected without complaint. All in all, the entire construction process was a very positive experience.

Stan and Allen did a great job. They took their time doing things correctly which means so much more to me than someone who rushes through my task list and does sloppy work. Maria was on top of the scheduling and maintained great communication with me to the very end. I will definitely be using Moss again in the future.

Moss was great to work with - Maria helped get everything scheduled and set up, including the Angie's List deal that we used for 8 hrs of handyman service, and she was very helpful and responsive. Stan did the work and was very professional, punctual, and provided a few good suggestions for follow up work - and we already have him scheduled to come back out and fix a few additional things. Would definitely use Moss again.

Upon my initial contact via Angie's List, I was immediately impressed with their responsiveness. Greg requested photos of the problem, which I sent via email. He sent a handyman man out right away to see if it could be easily fixed. It could not be, as there was a question of having it properly attached to the granite countertop. Fortunately for me, Moss made all of the arrangements for me,sending someone out from Euro Stone Craft. Based on the date that Euro Stone could come out, Moss's plumber fit me in two days before to turn off the water to the sink and to remove the old disposal so that a granite company could take a look. When I asked, Moss's plumber--Frank--made recommendations on the type of disposal I should buy, saving me from spending too much or selecting based on a sales pitch. Euro Stone Craft made the repair in less than one hour. I would like to note here that, until they arrived, we did not know if they would need to remove the granite to do the work. Had they told me that they needed to, I would have been none the wiser and would have paid for additional work. I point this out because I am grateful to Moss that they sent me someone who is honest and reliable and didn't take advantage of my situation. In order not to leave me with an non-functioning kitchen any longer than necessary, Moss fit me in again as soon as I let them know that Euro Stone Craft was finished. Instead of waiting a week or two for a regular opening on their schedule, I was cooking in two days. Frank arrived both times punctually and went right to work. He is pleasant, knowledgeable, thorough, and even tidy! It is sometimes difficult for service people to come to my high-rise co-op: maintenance and refurb work hours are limited by the covenants and parking is difficult. Despite this, Moss met all of their commitments and deadlines. We had one snafu: The handyman who came out tightened down the toilet at my request (it wobbled). He tightened it down so hard that the porcelain cracked next to the bolt. The toilet did not leak and worked fine, but when I told showed the plumber (thinking he might caulk the crack) he immediately contacted Greg so that the entire fixture could be replaced at their cost. I believe that this could happen to anyone, and am very impressed that there was no hesitation on Moss's part: they took responsibility and replaced the entire fixture! I will be contacting Moss again this month to give me an estimate on additional kitchen and handyman work. I am very, very happy with their quality, professionalism, responsiveness, and price.

Emil was excellent. He arrived on time and had all the necessary tools and equipment. I needed a ladder to reach the second floor to install the shutters and he had that on his van. I asked him to help me come up with a way to place a counter top and shelves in my laundry room and he did such a fantastic job. He was able to use many of the pieces of wood and shelving I had in my house and the end result was just perfect. I will absolutely use Moss again on my future projects. I totally recommend this company. Michelle in the scheduling office was so helpful and once she knew what type of projects I wanted to do matched me up with a true professional . Thank you both Michelle and Emil .

Excellent, on time, courteous, professional, outstanding people to work with. Michelle Moore is wonderful for management of all jobs! Alan Courtemanche was an excellent, hard working electrician/ wood worker and Frank Sloane did a wonderful job with plumbing and was spotless in his cleanup. These are my go to professionals for work around the house. I cannot say enough about all of them, they are fantastic!

Moss Building and Design did an outstanding job. Their workmanship was excellent, the crew was a joy to have in our home, and the company handled its business relations with us in an exemplary manner. Every member of the crew took noticeable pride in every detail of his work, and it was clear that they all cared deeply about delivering high quality that met our needs. Even when we lacked the expertise to know what construction choices were best, they made sure we got the information we needed to make good decisions. Even more impressive, they showed great creativity and imagination in tackling the unforeseeable problems that can arise when remodeling older homes. I strongly recommend them.

The electrician sent was named Alan. He arrived on time and was honest, practical, and very personable. Professional work throughout the day with very little downtime as far as set up, getting tools, etc. It was a great experience all around. Price was great considering I was quoted a price of thousands of dollars to complete these tasks and a few others. One of the best contractor experiences I've had so far.

Jeff arrived right on time and we walked through the house with my list. He planned his day well, working on the drywall spots first since they required drytime and sanding. He was extremely easy to work with and did a great job, completing everything on my list. As we walked through the house, he even suggested an additional repair or two. This was a great service - all of these little things had been mounting up, and Jeff did a much better job than I ever could have done (and did it much more quickly too!)

It was a terrific experience! When I called to ask about the deal from Angies List, the manager on the phone was incredibly helpful. She even went as far as letting me know the supplies I would probably need to provide in order to get the most out of my 8 hours. Once the day came, the electrician came out and was one of the more polite people I've had the pleasure of working with. He was a little late, but I understand that traffic is incredibly unpredictable. He did a walkthrough, asked me to prioritize the projects, and then quickly went to work. He was courteous, and explained to me why he had to change the way a few things were done(for example where the jack had to be installed, due to a steel beam in the wall) He didn't get to all the tasks, but it's because my list was ambitious. He did however give me an idea of the time it would take to complete the list, and I'll be setting up an appointment soon!
