The 3 people supplied by Moss Handyman Service performed their job in a professional efficient manner. They arrived at the scheduled appointment time and got to work immediately. Each looked at their assignment, gathered what they needed and went to work. Each had what they needed in their "truck" which permitted them to quickly perform their job. When one of the workers finished his job he helped the electrical handyman. In doing so they completed the job more quickly. Before they left they cleaned their area and took all the debris with them. I was very pleased with Moss being able to schedule everyone to take care of all our needs on the same day and at the same time. This was so convenient for us. We will gladly hire Moss Handyman Service again.

I would not use them again. They did a bad job. They're not responsive. I asked them to give me a callback so I can discuss it. It was a job where I paid for a certain number of hours and the individual who came and did the job took him much longer to do the one and only job that he did. He claimed he couldn't do the other part of the job because something else happened. In fact, I got someone else come in and do the job that was supposed to be done. I didn't get all of what I thought I would get for it.

I went to Moss initially because of a friend's recommendation. Also, I needed the job done as quickly as possible. I figured because they're a large contractor, they would have the man power to get it done fast. Because I didn't want to take advantage of the red carpet services available for choosing hardware, tile, fixtures,and vanity etc.....I purchased everything myself. (These costs are not part of the 20,133.00). So, my bathroom ended up being more expensive than I originally wanted to spend but it was completed ahead of schedule. Once everyone understood (sales, work management, and work crew) that I was only interested in getting this job done asap, things moved rapidly, and professionally. When there were issues, they were dealt with quickly. The most important people were the actual work crew. They knew what they were doing, worked hard, were incredibly respectful of my home, my needs and always did their best. I am more than pleased with my beautiful bathroom.

That was a while ago. It seemed to go pretty well. I don't have any complaints but I did get billed at the end, sort of after everything was over. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. It was just for miscellaneous things and was not a lot, but it would have been helpful to know that ahead of time. That is the only comment I have. I bought a $499 big deal for this. They charged me for caulking and stuff when it did not say anything in the agreement. No problem. They treated me fine, I had no complaints. It was a hodgepodge of different tasks so some of them were done better than others. Different things were done at different times.

Very well ... Much more done than expected. Quality work. Excellent interaction from start to finish.

Overall excellent rating. Project manager Bob & main crew Brady & Richard were fantastic - honest, responsive, professional. For initial selections & followup, Kristen was wonderful on the smaller bathroom & Camille went above & beyond on the remaining master bath & closet project. I am extremely happy with the quality of the work. Would definitely highly recommend Moss & would use them again.

We had a project that was expected to cost between $10,000-$15,000. It involved painting and electrical work. We wanted to chose one contractor that could do all the work. We contacted Moss based upon their Angie's list reviews. Unfortunately, Moss subcontracts out their work so it was like dealing with multiple contractors anyway as opposed to an all-in-one shop. We had one guy come by to give us an electric quote and it took him over a week to get a quote back. We had another guy come out to give us a painting estimate. He was at our house maybe 15 minutes. It took him about two weeks to get us a quote. The painting quote was VERY VERY high. We chose a different contractor and were able to get all the electrical and painting work completed for the less than the paint quote Moss provided. We will not consider Moss in the future. Moss: electric ($5,300) + paint ($10,900) = $16,200 Selected contractor: total $10,600

It was done when it was said it'd be done, fence/siding fix is fine although painting was not very good. Wanted exterior trim painted on, although dark beige is clearly visible on the interior of my door frames with doors closed. Insufficient coats of paint were applied to trim requiring me to add two additional coats on all trim in front of house...I didn't make an effort to re-paint back but it needs it as well. Front door paint is wrong cutter (relative to shutters); I purchased paint but it would have been nice to have been advised of this rather than finishing with the wrong color. I took an L on all paint and should have just done it myself.

My husband & I had to laugh when we read what Moss wrote on 27 Jul 2015 to the homeowner who gave them a "D". Moss wrote,"One of the things that sets Moss apart from others in the home improvement industry is that the quote we provide is not a number that will increase throughout the remodel.It is a fixed cost proposal so homeowners can feel confident that the number they see in the proposal is the number they will see at the end of the project - no surprises". That certainly was not true in our case. How about demanding $2,900 more on a $14,000 project just 7 days before work was to begin but after building permits and architectural plans were paid? We contracted with Moss on 29 Aug 2014 to brick over a stoop and build a portico. We made it clear from the beginning that the work had to be done before 1 Nov. Our project manager said it would only take a week. With all the good reviews on Angie's list, I expected the project to go smoothly. My first hint of trouble was the architect who arrived (1 Oct) and did not have a clue as to the project.She finally admitted she had not seen my instructions or pictures given to Moss. An e-mail from our manager said they could not do the project in Oct, because the County had not returned the permits. A call to the County proved this to be incorrect. Now our manager said the project could not start until 17 Nov.We were not happy but felt stuck. Another e-mail said they could not start until we had agreed to additional money, and our manager said he would meet with us on 10 Nov 2014. Surprise! They now said they would not continue unless we paid $2,900 more. I said that was unfair as they were now above bids we had turned down. The County already had said we did not need footings for the stoop, so our manager said this was footings for the facing brick on the sides. I showed the manager a written estimate from another company for $2,530 for the entire stoop incl. 24" footings for side bricks. We decided we could not trust that Moss would not demand more money in the middle of the project, so we e-mailed them on 14 Nov we wanted our money back.A return e-mail said Moss would not send us a check until we agreed to have $1,250 taken out of our deposit. There was $600 for the architect,$300 for engineering fees(???), $100 for permits (which was reduced when I told the manager, the County said $90), and particularly galling ,$250 for their time. Nothing for our time. By Jan 12, 2015 we still had not received a check, so my husband sent a certified request, which got us a check, but no plans or permits. Many phone calls later, and not until 29 Jan 2015 did we receive these.

Brian Walker showed up right on time (7:30 AM). We walked through the to do list items, and Brian started working while I ran to Home Depot to pick up a few needed items. He worked steadily for 8 hours, taking 1/2 hour break for lunch. He was productive, neat, and respectful of my home. He did not waste time. The quality of his work was outstanding.

Alan was very prompt and completed the job in a timely manner for the full 8 hours of work. I love the work Alan did and am very happy with the outcome! Alan recommend LED lights if they are security and very high up near the roof line. I did not have a ladder to get up there to change a burned out bulb. He said LED last a long time and are very good regarding not using too much electricity.

Completed work at a lower price than any other contractor and did a fantastic job. Moss has always done a fantastic job and I will continue to use them for our contracting needs

They did an excellent job. Greg, the project manager, was very responsive. He was able to send a crew out within a few days of agreeing on the work. Charlie, the one in charge on site, arrived early and he and his crew finished the job in a day and a half. They did a very good job fitting the trim and sealing properly. I would highly recommend Moss and am planning to use them in the future on other projects.

Communication to set up the appointment for the estimate was good; we had to reschedule once due to our schedule, but they were accommodating. The estimate meeting went well, and we were told we'd have something in a few days. I emailed back a few days later and was told it'd be a few more days. When I emailed again to follow up, I never heard anything back. It's now been a month since that last communication; obviously, we're going to move on to other vendors. Disappointing, since overall the reviews looked good and their website and methodology looked professional. UPDATED 8/18: A day after I originally submitted this review, I received an email from Moss' VP of sales. We discussed what had happened and he asked if he could investigate the situation and get back to me. We spoke again yesterday, and he gave me some ballpark numbers for our project to consider after talking with the person who did our estimate walkthrough. I think if we decide to move forward with them, we'll need to nail down more specifics, but I got what I needed to make a better decision. I just wish it hadn't taken a bad review to spur them into action. I've updated my review scoring appropriately.

I understand a need to be consultative and thorough when providing estimates and work to customers. My issue comes from that this provide consistently can not provide service of any kind since their schedule is 3-4 weeks, just to get the estimate. I saw them at a local trade show as well as called 2 times. Each time it's 3-4 weeks just to get an idea of what something may cost. If you have a long schedule, I'm sure they will do a good job. If you have work that requires immediate attention, you may need to shop around for someone who has the resources to respond in a timely manner.

I usually don't take the time to fill these out. However, Moss Building did a high quality job. I had two other bad contractors that wasted time and my money. I'm very picky and Moss was professional. Stan was the drywall contractor and I would recommend him, Maria was the sales associate / manager who was responsive and friendly.

The company was very responsive, contacted us immediately after buying the deal and work was done quickly. Handyman did a very good job and worked the full 8 hours. I would recommend them highly. If I did have a minor complaint it would be in the way their advertisement is written. It states that they can do electrical and plumbing work. That is true, but it would be a different person and the deal is only for 1 person. We had more then enough drywall work for the 8 hours so it wasn't a big deal.

It was truly money well spent - the service was great, Jeff was a true professional. He showed up early - I noticed the car from my window but he waited until his appointment time which was 7:30am and promptly knocked on the door. He was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. I had a long list of about 13 items that I needed to get done and he was able to accomplish 10 out of the 13. Some required more extensive work than he was qualified to do like plumbing and changing a gate. Despite that I still felt like I got my money's worth. I would definitely recommend and would use again if the need arises.

Kudos to Moss for wonderful service from start to finish. We needed an electrician for fan installation (6 rooms), foyer chandelier replacement, and study light installation. Alan Courtemanche to the rescue (picture cape flying in the wind here). Alan was punctual arriving a few minutes before scheduled time and quickly began working on our list. Alan was knowledgeable on the various ceiling fan installations we had and provided my husband with a wealth of information on up keep and maintenance to prolong the life of each install. Providing detailed information which would save us money such as which light bulbs to use and where to get the best quality products versus the typical ?go to your local hardware store? response. This was very much appreciated and noted. Alan was very professional and took pride in his craft. Each work station was property covered to ensure no damage to flooring or furniture as well as ensuring that no debris was left behind. After each installation he properly cleaned each ceiling fan of finger prints as well as testing each fan thoroughly to ensure proper installation and functionality. We would definitely use Moss Home Services again and would highly recommend them to friends and family. We have had many contractors come in to tackle various task in our previous home, and today we noticed that most did not seem to hold their quality and professional services at such a high standard as that of Moss. We are very thankful for the time spent with Moss and a special thanks goes out to Alan for such kind, professional, and quality services he provided. We look forward to doing business again with Moss for our future needs.

excellent job very throough and the clean up was top notch---The only downside and ther was none with the work performed or the scheduling was the absence of follow up by the company. We picked this company because of their capacity for Design and while the service we purchase may not have touched on that (as we were left on our own to reach a design) it would have been nice if they had followed up to insure we were fully satisfied. As it stands now we are halfway through the project (although the technician completed everything we anticipated) so all in all it was just us and the technician there was no apparent oversite , review from Moss Design

He did a really nice job on all the projects. He suggested what kind and shade of grout to get to match what was done 15 years ago, and you'd never know that the tile was replaced. Caulk work was done nicely, and drywall work looks great.

Wow!!! I am pleased with the customer service, including the prompt response to my complaints. At first, I thought the deal for 8 hours of work was a scam to take advantage of the customer by inflating the time and effort required to complete the items I needed to complete my project. I no longer feel that way. Moss is the real deal company. They stand behind their reputation and quality of work. Not only did they complete my project, they performed at a level of professionalism I have yet to experience with any contractor. I was impressed by the outstanding job performed today by Greg. He was prompt, expedient, tidy, excellent & quick problem solver, knowledgeable, prepared, courteous, and all around professional. This really restored my diminishing faith in contractors being fair, competent and honest. You will not go wrong by hiring this company.

The electrician were excellent. Then did the work I needed in less time I had purchased. They kindly asked was there more so I showed them other things and did those as well. I am going to use this company for the future to help me finish my basement.

Moss was fantastic to work with. I placed one phone call and Greg responded promptly, reviewing what types of work I needed done, determining what professionals would be needed for the job and how I wanted to schedule the job, each trade individually or all together. I chose to have all three come together to minimize my time off work. He pointed out the date would be farther out when I could get them all together, but that was fine with me. Two weeks before the job, he sent an e-mail confirming the tasks. They had changed slightly, but that was fine. A week before I was sent an e-mail with the names of the folks that would be doing the work. On the day of, all three gentlemen were at my door promptly at 7:30. We walked through the jobs (all three had something to do in our very small bathroom!) and they divided up and efficiently tackled everything. We ran into a complication with a Casablanca fan. The team worked diligently, but couldn't get the new switch to work with our fan. I discovered after the fact that I needed a conversion kit for the fan as well as a new switch. Frank, Jeff, and Luis were all very professional and courteous. I was so happy to work with a company that tells you what they're going to do and does it professionally and with no drama! i highly recommend Moss and plan to use them in the future.
