The electrician was really nice. We told him he didn't need to wear the booties over his shoes but he insisted, we offered him food and drinks, he had brought his own. He worked with an regency to get everything done for us. He was great. We would totally do business with this company again. The girl that booked the service was very kind and thorough. She checked in a few times to make sure the job was done well. I have no complaints. Of course, I would have liked to of paid less but who wouldn't?

Amazing. My faith in honest hardworking customer focused contractors is restored. And since it took me 5 years to get someone to do the finishing of the wall above the fireplace due to issues with contractors that had one or more negative qualities (inflated estimates, upselling, poor knowledge, unresponsive, communication challeges...) that is saying quite a bit. There was a small speed bump getting started when I did not receive an estimate from the company after I met with a co-owner at my home so I had to contact them multiple times to get the quote, but they more than made up for that hiccup with the customer service, quality and price. The carpenter, Stan, was punctual each day and even pre-shifted so I could meet him before I had to go to work at 0800. Greg, the electrician, was in and out so quickly I was lucky to catch him when I came home for lunch on the first day of the project. Both were very professional and highly skilled at their jobs. Stan suggested many options for me and let me lead the solution so I felt I was getting exactly what I wanted. I got that and more. Maria Estes was the project coordinator and worked with me to outline the tasks and cost estimates before the project was started. I was a little nervous at signing a contract with a $ value on it prior starting when a couple of the items were somewhat open ended, but she assured me the details could be adjusted in the end if needed - and they were. Not only did I not have to pay the final payment at completion, the company sent me money back! Unheard of I must say. Maria suggested changing to a time and materials contract structure to lower the price of the original contract and it saved me money. In the end, I got the contracted work completed to excellent quality plus benefits of a few added projects and ended up paying less than originally estimated. I highly recommend Moss (Justin, Maria, Stan and Greg) for any project and will certainly use them in the spring for some additional projects to enhance my home. If there was an A+ rating here I would give it to Moss.

We previously used Moss for an "almost" whole house remodel, and we hired them again two years later to work on some of the things that we had not done the first time. Our secondary living room/den was a challenging layout, and we needed to live in the house for a while and figure out how to furnish the room before we could decide what additional work needed to be done. We were very satisfied the first time we hired Moss, and they did not disappoint this time either. I don't know what else to say other than that they are a very professional outfit, courteous, timely, and do excellent work. Everything from the demolition of the fireplace opening, to the tiling, and the installation of the gas lines was done very professionally. Everyone that we came in contact with, from the plumber, to the electrician, to the tile guy to the drywall repair person was courteous and respectful of our home. As with our prior (much larger) project, the project manager contacted us weekly with updates and was very understanding of our relatively slow pace in picking out tile and making design decisions. They are certainly not the lowest-cost provider, but I feel that you get what you pay for in terms of professionalism and quality service, which is why I will continue to use them in the future.

The Moss Team does excellent work. They were prompt in providing the estimate and laying out options. Install went off without a hitch and the window looks beautiful. The project went very well and I am thrilled with the result. My project manager Greg and lead carpenter Ryan were organized and good communicators who kept the project moving and asked all the right questions to manage and meet my expectations. The unforeseen things that come up in a renovation project were always addressed satisfactorily and at reasonable cost. Everyone from Moss who came to work in my home was clean, professional, courteous and respectful of my home. The workmanship was high quality. (Note, cost given includes finishes/fixtures/appliances purchased by me directly but installed by Moss.)

Moss completely remodeled my kitchen and laundry/mud room. My priorities for the project were to knock down walls for a more open floor plan, to rewire the spaces because we were having some electrical problems that resulted from too many previous DIY projects, and to bring more natural light into the house. Scott was the contractor who worked on my project the entire time, and he really did the entire project from beginning to end, with help from Ramel. Scott and Ramel were both professional and courteous. Scott is a true craftsman. While I had ideas of my own about how I wanted the house to look, Scott and I worked very closely together through every phase of the project. He had great suggestions that I incorporated into the design, and he even changed my mind about some things I thought I wanted, with fabulous results. Scott built the bench, shelving, and cabinetry in my mudroom and did not skimp on details like walnut trim and streamlined undermount, inset lighting. On occasion when I didn't like something, he worked with me to fix it and make sure I was satisfied. All of the folks with whom I worked at Moss wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied. Further, when we changed some doors and the direction of their swing in the middle of our project (and we didn't know that we were going to do this) , Scott was not satisfied with the location of the electrical switches he had earlier installed. Even though I could have lived with it, he was a perfectionist and changed the location of the switches to be on the correct side of the door. In short, Scott was a real pleasure to work with, and I would do this project again with Moss and would request Scott, if available. This was a big project that lasted a long time, from late June 2015 - early January 2016. If there was any minor frustration during the project, it was the length of it, so you have to be ready for that when you start a major remodel. Moss is a sought after company because of its high standards and professional service. For this reason, my project was sometimes competing with other projects, and I think this contributed to the length of time that the project took. However, this wasn't a problem for me because I work full time, and there were times in the project where I needed a break to think about the next stage of it and to choose things like lighting cabinet pulls/hardware. Moss kept me informed at all times about when they would return and what else they had to do to finish the project. Moss is not the cheapest and I knew this; but, I also knew that I wanted a company who could do the work independently of me being on site at all times, since I work full time. We would talk in the morning about the project, and this worked very well for me and Scott, and I would see the finished work in the evening, and the next morning before work we would talk again. Moss employees were in my house for six months by themselves or with my children, and I always felt that I could trust them to be honest, lock the house when they left, and abuse my trust. A big shout out for Lisa L., too, a Moss kitchen designer. For reasons that were no fault of the company, Lisa stepped into the project halfway during the design phase, and she and I immediately hit it off. She is really professional, smart, listened to me, and had great ideas. There were a few minor snags along the way with outside vendors, but Moss made it clear the entire time that they would fix the problems to my satisfaction, and they did. My family feels very lucky to have had Scott and Lisa and Moss work on this project and for it to have gone smoothly. My kitchen is lovely and functional for my growing family, we doubled the size of the kitchen (by taking in an unused formal dining room), and we spend most of our time in this beautiful space now.

What strikes me most is the responsiveness. Dave, the project manager, came over not once but twice during phase 1 to reconnect our internet! When we had an unrelated plumbing problem in the basement, he arranged for prompt repair of the pipe (pinhole leak) and drywall repair and painting. Second is the high quality of the work. If it wasn't done exactly right the first time, Moss has come back to make sure it meets our expectations. For example, we pointed out that a subcontractor had inadvertently installed a scupper in a way that would interfere with a bathroom fan vent. It was fixed the next day. Third is Moss's flexibility and partnership in problem solving. Moss e and the subcontractors have been responsive to our requests to do things a little differently than they usually do. For example, they installed additional ceramic tile in the entryway rather than the wide wood strip they would normally do. Dave and my husband have bounced ideas back and forth on how to install the siding. We're very happy with the final result. Finally, Moss has done great work for us at a fair price. Final costs for phase 1 were a few dollars more or less than the contract price. There were no surprise "change orders" to bump up the price. Every Moss employee and subcontractor coming to our house has been courteous, professional, and good at what they do. That's why we will continue working with Moss.

Overall, we were very pleased with the construction project. We stayed in the house while all this work was on-going. Moss was very good about working around us and cleaning up at the end of each day. Their staff were very professional and easy to work with. They worked very hard to minimize the time we were without a working kitchen, and we are very pleased with the outcome, and have received many compliments on the new kitchen addition. There are always a few bumps in the road with any construction project. We did have a few bumps along the way. The allowances quoted in the original contract for the cabinets, countertops, plumbing and light fixtures did not appear to cover the contractor mark-ups, and therefore were about 40% higher than what we had budgeted. However, Moss was very willing to work with us, to find ways to bring the costs down, and we were able to get what we wanted. The other "bump" happened about 3/4 of the way through the project, when the original Moss team was pulled off our project to begin another one. After that, we had many different craftsmen coming over to complete the job. To Moss's credit--everyone they sent over did quality work. However, we felt like this dragged the project out longer than it should have taken, and required more hand-holding on our part. Once again, all projects have bumps, and the ones that we experienced would not keep us from using Moss again. They did a very good job for us, and we have been enjoying our kitchen for over a year now, and are still thrilled with the outcome. There have been a few little minor things that we have called Moss back to address, and they have been VERY responsive, and have taken care of the issues. They do offer a 3 year warrentee on their work...where as most contractors only offer a 1 year warrantee. Another PLUS for Moss.

It was okay. He was fine. He was a handyman who came in and fixed some things. Most of that stuff worked out okay. It was a Big Deal for 8 hours of work. It turned out to be less hours because some of the stuff couldn't get done, but I paid the 8 hours when I purchased the package.

Brian walker completed the work. Brian was punctual each day, worked diligently and cleaned up along the way. Brian did very nice worked was very nice guy. It was our pleasure to work w / Brian and we hope to meet again.

Moss employees were extremely professional and the resultant work was outstanding. In particular: 1. Greg Maratto, Project Manager - even though it was a small job, Greg provided a lot of personal attention and followed up quickly when an electrical issue arose. He kept us informed regarding the schedule, etc. and was a delight to work with. 2. Gary Sr. and Gary Jr., father-son carpentry team - did an excellent job. Both were very professional & respectful and also a pleasure to work with. They were 100% committed to customer satisfaction and doing things properly, as if it were their own house. 3. Roofing crew (Bruce) - again, very polite, efficient and respectful. 4. Estimator (Marty) and admin team - all very professional, polite and customer service oriented. During the course of the work, two neighbors expressed interest in a future project with Moss because they obseved the excellent work that was being performed. It was a pleasure working with Moss and we will not hesitate to use Moss in the future. I highly recommend Moss for any home project. We continue to receive lots of compliments regarding their work. Moss is OUTSTANDING.

They were extremely good. Moss is reasonable out of money. They have very high quality. They brought a handyman. I know he did various things.He was extremely good at caulking and things like that. He did everything but his expertise was really in carpentry and I would say he was extremely good. The primary thing he did is we have developed a whole problem on the porch which is why I called Craig again that it was a little bit of rotting out from the way water was dripping all through the roof and kind of hanging there. So, after nine years of a little bit but needed to do repair, Craig wasn't in, he does move further out in an outlying county and it wasn't a work for them to do what they suggested. I showed them a picture of it. They took a look and they said they thought a handyman could handle it and so we got the Moss people to do it and the person they sent out did an excellent job. He knew all ins and outs of carpentry. He couldn't have done a better job from his little things. I mean, he's doing wiring on the house, I'm not sure I'm getting problems. He was good enough to do what we needed. Moss is an "A". They're not a high end but for what they do they're extremely well and they're extremely reliable. They took responsibility. Whenever there is a problem they take care of it. That's what sort of what I look for. In all the venues I used, the most important thing for me is that there is somebody create, if there is a problem, solve it and they own it and they make sure that I'm happy. Moss is like an "A+" on price. It's nine years since I got with them. There's a lot of people you deal with nine years after the fact and you call them and everything and they're going to give you five seconds of their time and I appreciated that they spent a little time on this.

Great job with the timeliness of the estimate, execution of work and the quality of end result. Cost was in the neighborhood of other providers, but the professionalism was above and beyond. With Moss the job is going to be done well and right, at a fair price and with a much more hassle-free process that with most contractors.

My husband and I are in the process of embarking on a home remodeling project that is quite complicated and has many facets and details that need to be addressed. Of course we turned to Angie's List to find at least 3 Class "A" Home Build and Design Companies. Upon interviewing them, ONE builder rose to the TOP of the list due solely to the company representative: James Denney. Moss Building and Design has quite a pedigree, but so do the others we were considering. When we met with James on Monday, February 1, we knew Moss was the choice for us! It is important that the person who represents a company, whether it is a small or large project, LISTENS to the WANTS, NEEDS (and DREAMS) of the client.: James Denney did just that, with empathy and consideration for all involved, with a positive "we can make this happen !!" attitude. We had such a "refreshing and upbeat" meeting with James, that we are VERY excited to move forward with Moss Building and Design. THANK YOU, Angie's List and THANK YOU Moss, for having representatives like James Denney!

Had an electrician for the day. Greg helped me out and got pretty much everything on my list done. Was great to get it all crossed off the list! Will definitely use Moss again in the future!

I bought the handyman coupon and was concerned about how to make sure I used it correctly. Maria was so pleasant and informative. Mabe made me feel very comfortable using them for services. She had Stan call to discuss what materials I needed to have my ceilings repaired. He did call and told me he had all materials and I would only pay for the mud he used! He arrived promptly and set to work. He did a terrific job! We chatted while he was there and I enjoyed the company. I'd use Moss again and would ask that Stan be my handyman. He is experienced in his craft and does an excellent job! ?

We hired Moss to do a major expansion of our house and were quite happy with the results. We had Moss bump out the back of the house to expand the kitchen and add a study. The quality of the work was excellent. When there were problems, the project manager worked hard to ensure our complete satisfaction. He was always extremely helpful and we found the workers quite professional. They were quite respectful of the fact that we were continuing to live in the house and were careful to clean up after themselves. Since the remodel we've had a couple of minor follow-up problems (water leaking around the hood) and Moss was quick to respond and correct the issue. I really appreciated working with a designer on the many, many choices that needed to be made. We would definitely use them again.

I have used Moss Home Services before and they are excellent contractors. I decided not to take the deal and got a refund within days from Angie's List. I will probably use Moss Services in the futures but in this instance my objectives changed at no fault to Moss. I certainly recommend the company as they have done projects and were professional and completed the work in a timely and more than satisfactory manner.

Overall, there was some good and some bad. The appointment was set for 7:30 am. for 8 hours of work. Before 8, he hadn't arrived so I called the cell number I was given and left a message but did not get a return call. I called again after 8, but did not get a response. I became concerned that he wouldn't show up. He returned my call at 8:35 when he learned from me that he went to the wrong address. His manager told me that he initially came to the right place, but because he didn't have the apartment number, he second guessed himself and went to an incorrect address he was originally told to go to. Had he returned my call earlier, he could have avoided the untimely error. After driving in traffic, he arrived at 9:15. He helped me bring in some heavy items and got to work. He repaired a large hole in a wall, then determined plumbing parts needed to set up a kitchen sink. I went to Home Depot to get the parts. He did a great job installing the wall cabinets. He also had to cut out a hole in a custom made laminated counter top for the sink. I later learned that he cut the hole too wide leaving a small gap on one side. The counter itself also was not cut straight on one side, leaving a gap too wide to caulk. Time ran out before he could hook up the sink. I would have had paid overtime to have it finished, but he had to leave. I was surprised to learn a couple weeks later that he did not stabilize the counter.

Moss Building and Design listened to our desires for the remodel and concerns about potential issues. The contract proposal was complete, not adding unwanted services or missing requested items. The allowances for materials such as flooring were realistic. They gave us an estimated start and end dates and then kept us well informed of all the work schedule. The team (Brian, Keven, Jonathan, Kristen) assigned to our project were talented and professional at all times. When the project ran into an issue that caused some work to be redone, they were very responsive and resolved the issue with only a minor delay in the project completion. The workmanship is superior and the finished rooms exceed our expectations. The process for changes is easy to deal with and the online tools to keep all the details together was useful. I highly recommend this company for remodels and will call them first for any future needs.

Jeff was absolutely fantastic. He was bang on time and professional and friendly to a tee, up to and including interacting with our two dogs, and watching them around the door (though we also made sure they were out of his way!). He was utterly thorough and did each job to his exacting satisfaction. Both he and Greg, who scheduled and coordinated the job, were consummate professionals, and we're grateful to know we can call on Moss for other issues in the future. I really, truly, cannot recommend them highly enough.

They did a fabulous job, they were on time, and very professional.
