I had a terrible experience with them, as noted below: - I asked them to install white oak in one room to match the white oak floor in another room. They were not clear that the a very close match would be almost impossible to do. The work was done, and now each room has a different wood color, though they are next to each other. - I was clear that the entire point of the install was to match the white oak floor in another room. They laid the wood floor perpendicular to the other wood that was to be matched. It looks ridiculous. They didn't inform me beforehand that they would need to lay the wood perpendicular to the other wood. - They drew a hole in the middle of some of the molding to loop the cable wire through. They didn't check in with me that that was okay to do, and it looks bad. - They asked for a Credit Card Authorization, which I submitted, but didn't inform me that they would actual debit the 100% payment before the job even started. - There are visible circular sanding marks on the floor they installed.

The price for installation was very competitive. The crews were punctual and professional, and the quality of work in the floors and base trim installation was well done. I would recommend them.

Not good. Despite their ad I was informed they cannot help with the repairs. A little disappointed based on the reviews I've read.

We just had unique floor design centers do our wood flooring and carpeting for our remodeled condo. The work is almost done - they need to come back to finish a closet. My wife and I highly recommend Suzie Castillo and her installers -their customer service has been superb. We want to particularly recommend them for their flexibility, the quality of product, and their timeliness to address our unique issues when remodeling from scratch an older condo.

They did a great job installing new flooring for us. Competitively priced and took the time to explain the products and bug them with questions. The one thing we didn't want is constant sales pressure, which we didn't get. We'll be calling them again soon for another job.

We were very happy with the job Unique Floor did at our house. Our house had mostly carpet from the previous owner. Our floors look beautiful. We recently had a problem with a faulty door gasket/seal that caused moisture to seep under and hit the subfloor. As a result, a board popped. They sent our their installer and he was able to replace the board in a matter of minutes, no questions asked. We are now going back to them for estimates on doing our stairs in wood and new upstairs carpeting.

The salesperson was knowledgeable about the various carpets and did not try to steer us to a more expensive carpet than we needed. The measuring was done in a timely manner, the workmen were courteous and skillful and moved all the heavy furniture. The stairs and bedrooms look wonderful. It was a pleasant experience and we are planning to use them again for another room in our home next month. The only thing I wished was that they had a greater variety of patterned carpeting, but I am very happy with what we purchased.

It was a great experience. We got three estimates and Unique Floor was in the middle for pricing. Jason Rice helped us pick out what we needed -- he was very patient, courteous and professional. Luis and his crew arrived right on time and did such a wonderful job -- the whole experience couldn't have been any better. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use again.

Unique Floors installed porcelain tile throughout my basement as well as Ditra radiant heat panels below the tile in a portion of the basement. Suzanne, the sales representative, provided a comprehensive and competitive quote and was easy to reach throughout the process for all of my questions. She even met our lowest offer on tiles so that I was able to get the tiles that I really loved. Carlos, the installer, was professional, friendly and very skilled at his trade. He arrived promptly each morning with all the necessary supplies and support. The job ended up taking a couple days longer than expected but Carlos and his crew came in on Saturday and Sunday to make sure everything was completed before the following week. My basement floor has lots of angles, unleveled portions and multiple transitions to other tiles in other rooms. Carlos and his crew did a fantastic job navigating these issues, leaving behind a beautiful, professionally crafted, perfectly level floor. I would highly recommend Unique Floors to anyone looking for a quality flooring job at a very competitive price

I called for quotes on a Friday, and not only did the person who answered the phone immediately give me an estimate for leveling the floor based on its size, but then they came out Saturday morning to do a measurement and show me some sample tiles. After telling them what I was looking for, the rep brought those samples, as well as similar-looking ones of lesser cost, and then set up three quotes for me (based on ceramic tile, vinyl tile, and if I provided my own tile and grout but they leveled the floor and installed it all), one of which I received that same Saturday, and the others on the next business day. Essentially, they provided the most specific and clear explanations of what they were charging me for of any of the three companies I received quotes from, and the fact that they didn't talk down the costs and were willing to be very flexible about what work would be done sold me on them. Then, on the scheduled day, the workers showed up, started work, and leveled the whole floor in one day, and then installed the tile the next (as was originally planned). Everything went smoothly, and barring the dusting/floor cleaning I needed to do in other rooms where some of the dust they sanded wound up, I didn't have to do any finishing work or repairs of any kind afterwards.

The sales portion went well and the team was informative. We had laminate installed in our condo and the flooring looks good, but the trim they installed looks terrible. The crew did not bevel any of the ends where it met the thresholds and doors. After 2 weeks when they finally made it out the workman they sent struggled to understand us and didn't know why he was there even though photos were sent. After an hour he did half of what needed to be done and we sent him away with the project unfinished. Now we have another project we need to fix before we can proceed with painting. In short they get an A to get your cash and an F on follow through and costumer service. I got a quote from them for painting, but don't trust them and won't consider using them again. The crew also left greasy fingerprints all over the walls and left 3 cans of coke in the back of my freezer which I found exploded with a mess a couple weeks later.

Perfect. Unique has a fantastic team, from the estimator to the staff in the showroom to the installers. The installers in particular are so courteous and thorough, and the work itself has been flawless both times. Our house feels completely different and upgraded now. I highly recommend them.

It went so well. From working with Suzie, our sales consultant, to their separate teams for demo and installation, to sanding and staining, the whole process was so good. I would recommend them to my mother. The best thing was, we worked with just one person, Suzie, who provided the quote, was willing to negotiate price, and coordinated all the labor teams. Unbelievable job. Thanks you Unique Floor Designs, and we will probably use you for carpeting in the bedrooms as well.

Unique Floor (Steven) was very timely in his responses to our questions about the various carpet options and worked with us on the best solution for us at the best possible price. We were currently under a basement remodel so we had to delay the install for a few weeks while that finished up. Steven was very understanding and reached out to us to get status updates so we could get the install scheduled right after the project completed. Install team showed up on time and finished their work quickly yet accurately. Carpet looks great and it extremely comfortable to walk on. I would highly recommend working with this company for all your flooring needs!

It went as well as you could expect any contractor experience to go. It was impressive from beginning to end. The work was amazing. They brought the wood up a flight of stairs a couple of days before. Each box was amazingly heavy, and they had about 32 boxes. They stored it all in the living room, and began installation two days later, finishing two days after that. I was so impressed, I almost gave them a bonus. I can't imagine anybody performing this work any better than they did.

We are posting this negative review because of the company’s unwillingness to take any responsibility for their work once payment was made. We hired Unique Floor Design Center to install owner-provided tile flooring in an entry way, bathroom and large family room after reading their many positive reviews on sites like Angie’s List. They were attentive and helpful in the planning stage and were prompt during the 3-day installation. They were good in controlling dirt and dust during the removal of the old flooring and installation of the new. The day after they left (they worked into the evening) we noticed that in the large family room some of it looked as if it was grouted in a whiter color and other parts in a greyer color. We also noted areas in the entryway where the grout was much lighter/whiter than what was chosen and provided. We emailed them, with photos, and described the problem. We asked if there was something that could be done about the variations and why it occurred since all of the grout was the same. The response from Unique was: “All we did was install the materials that you had provided. We just added water to the grout. That is it. Are you sure you purchased all of the same color? If it was material that we had provided, I might be able to do something.” After discussing with Steven on the phone how we just wanted someone to come out and take a look to see if it was possible to adjust the color of the grout, we were told that one of the workers on the job was to contact us about scheduling a time to come out. After not hearing anything for a day, we contacted them to make sure that we understood that someone was going to contact us. We received this response in regards to someone coming out - “He will. He is doing a very large commercial job in Columbia MD until next Wednesday. I have told him about the grout. He swears that he mixed the grout just as he always does and feels the issue is with the grout. He will still come out and look at it as soon as he can.” Over the next several weeks we exchanged multiple telephone calls and emails. Over two weeks later, we still hadn’t been contacted and reached out to Unique again. We finally asked if the original estimator could come out. We were told that he could, and they scheduled a time with us. We waited for him to come at the scheduled 12:30 appointment time, and he never showed up. They did not have the courtesy to let us know they were not coming although we waited for several hours, and they have not contacted us since. They are completely unwilling to deal with concerns or issues related to the job once payment has been received. We wanted only for them to come out, look at the problem areas and offer suggestions. They refused to do anything. We will not use Unique Floors again, and will not recommend them to anyone, because of their attitude and poor customer service and unwillingness to consider the quality of the work they performed. I provided a copy of this review to them as a matter of courtesy so they could correct any factual misstatement. They have not responded after several days.

One individual from the company came out to provide me an estimate for the materials and labor costs or an estimate. It took sometime to get a date for installation. When the installer came out he would not agree to the installation in the way the it was estimated to be installed therefore it cost more than the estimated. I believe this could have been minimized if the if the installer would have given the estimate. I provided all materials for the job as agreed. At the time of completion of the job, the installers attempted to take with them the materials that I provided. I had to ask them not to take the materials because they belong to me. Wilson Thompson

Our experience was very positive and we are quite happy with the job they performed. I've been in contact with Jason and Steven to plan for the job. They are both responsive and dedicated professionals. The job took 1.5 days in total. Luis and Eduardo did great job on the floors. They had very polite manners with great flooring skills. We recommend UF to anyone needing hardwood flooring needs.

The carpet and pad I selected was offered at a very reasonable price. There was no attempt to "up sell" me on more expensive products as other carpet stores sometimes do. Room measurements were taken the same day and turned out to be precisely accurate. Our original installation date had to be postponed due to the company's truck breaking down en route to our home, but they worked with me to re-schedule for the very next day. Installation was performed efficiently by a two man crew. They moved our furniture, took up the existing carpet and pad and installed the new materials. Before laying the new carpet, we asked them to install screws to stop the squeaking that was occurring in a few boards - a service that our hardwood company had provided automatically. The crew said they "were not being paid to do that," but if directed by the store manager they would comply. A quick call to Steve at the office resolved the issue and they fixed all the squeaks. If not for this little difference, Unique Floor would have received a fifth star. It was a pleasure dealing with Unique Floors. I recommend you consider them for all your new carpet needs. Every step of the way, Unique Floor was an awesome company to work with. The owner, Sam, came out and presented our options for laminate and bamboo flooring after a brief phone consultation. He recommended that we go with the laminate since we have dogs since it would be more durable. He even helped us to narrow down a color to use that would compliment our newly painted walls and cabinets. Our estimate was fair and did not change throughout the process. We received a $100 discount by contacting them through Angie's List and they were running a promotion for free carpet removal. For a complete job removing everything including the vinyl flooring in the kitchen, it was about $3,000 for all of the materials (including the laminate) and the install itself on our entire first floor (about 450 sq. ft.). The one minor hiccup that we encountered was when Sam went to order the color of laminate that we chose, the company informed him that they had just discontinued that particular color. Sam immediately contacted us and emailed us a picture of the closest match (they had discontinued this color since it was so similar to this other color). I honestly couldn't even tell the difference between the two, and we wound up going with the closest match. A few weeks later on the scheduled date, Luis showed up promptly on time with two other men, Simon and Eduardo(?) and they got right to work. Luis stayed for the first half of the job, and the other two men finished everything up in one day. All three men were extremely professional and talked me through each step. They were very extremely thorough and brought a few things to my attention which I really appreciated, such as the fact that our subfloor was slightly uneven in the kitchen and that one part of the floor was squeaking, but they fixed it by nailing it in place. Upon completion, they left the house spotless, and took care to move all of our furniture back into place very carefully. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this job, and have already recommended Unique Floor to friends and colleagues.

The service was great. The company brought lots of flooring samples for me to choose from, including hardwood and simulated hardwood. They advised on how to pick the best flooring option, and worked with me on pricing. The installation itself was quick (just a few hours) and the floor looks great. The installation crew cleaned up fairly well. They hauled away the old carpet and all the debris from the installation itself, though I did clean up a lot of wood dust later. I just called and asked for additional shoe molding, and the sales rep is helping me get the few feet that I need to match up with the existing floors. At some point in the future I will have to refinish or replace floors on the lower levels of the house and I will definitely call Unique Floors.

I think that they were very professional. I thought their price was a little bit high but the installer definitely knew what he was doing. What I did was I took carpet out of the family room, it was older carpet, but he used a piece from the side of the room and we put that on the stairwell down to the basement. I thought that he did an excellent job and I think $400 would have been better price but they did fine. I think that the installer was great, I just think that the price could have been better.
