Drove out there straight after work upon their recommendation, hoping to be seen early afternoon. They said they were booked solid until closing, so I scheduled with one of the representatives there -- he confirmed the day of the week, time and exact date. I asked if I would be receiving some confirmation of the new appointment, just to make sure since I drove out there that day and I'd have to come back after work. He said no, apologized for not being able to see me the first time, and said that I would be taken care of. I come back on the date and time I wrote into my schedule, same representative there. He checks his records to find he had indeed entered the date incorrectly, even though the words that came out of his mouth were what we had agreed upon -- he too acknowledged and claimed fault. He said I could be seen the following day. I relented, wanting to get this windshield repaired ASAP. I told him I had a small window of time due to my hectic schedule and a third appointment time was agreed upon. The next day, I get a call first thing in the morning asking if I could come in earlier that day, apparently the shop was slow going and they could fit me in right away. I rearranged my schedule, drove out there for the third time and was seen immediately. To their credit, they did a good job replacing my windshield. But for the inconvenience and bit of hassle, I could not in good conscience give them an A.

Dominque called ahead to let me know he was on his way on the day of our scheduled appointment. He was prompt, professional and friendly. He explained the repair process for the crack in our Honda CRV, letting me know a small mar would remain visible after the treatment. The repair took about half an hour during which he kindly cleaned the windows of our car and chatted with me. The repair was through our car insurance, USAA, therefore there was no charge to us. Dominque was great, and we'd gladly use Safelite in the future.

A rock pitted the windshield of my Honda CR-V. I called my insurance company, USAA, and they said they'd have it repaired at no cost to me. They had Safelite contact me and arrange a time for their technician to come to my house and do the repair in my driveway. The technician showed up on time and sealed the pitted area, which was about 1/3" in diameter. The repair has lasted with no problems for over 6 months. I can barely see where the pit was. Since I did not receive a bill, I do not know what the cost would have been if I'd had to pay out of pocket.

This was a terrible windshield replacement that ended up taking hours to resolve and costing Safelite $800 to repair at the auto dealer’s collision shop. After making the appointment I received an email with the picture of the technician that would be coming to my house to replace my windshield. However, that’s not the technician that came. When he finished he said he didn’t have the right molding, broke the cowel, which he tried to glue on, and said it looked bad and the molding would lay flat after the weather turned warm. Well, he was right – it looked bad and I had wind noise while driving. Safelite set up an appointment for me to go to the shop for the windshield to be inspected and the cowel replaced. When I arrived, they had not ordered the part so I needed to set up another appointment after the part was received. I returned after the part came in and waited 3 hours. They replaced the windshield, again, and said they replaced the cowel. I did not hear wind noise after the 2nd windshield but the molding and cowel didn’t look right and the windshield cracked a few days after being installed. Safelite said it couldn’t be the glass they just installed and I would need to pay for another windshield. I called my insurance company and they recommended taking my car to the dealer for an estimate. The dealer’s estimate was $800 to repair Safelite’s job. The technician at the collision shop found the windshield glass was defective and cracked where the image was distorted, the windshield bowed out because it was not installed correctly against the car and would leak, the trim was not installed correctly and the cowel was not replaced. Safelite did pay the dealer to repair my car. Safelite used an inferior product, did not install the windshield correctly and lied about replacing the cowel they broke.

I was not pleased with the final results from Safelite's resin repair of the rock chip on my windshield. Neither was I satisfied with the response from Safelite when I complained.
Description of Work: I used Safelite on June 24, 2011 after a rock flew off of an uncovered dump truck on 395 North and created a less than quarter size spider web chip on my windshield. Despite the Safelite dispatcher's urging that I file a claim with my insurance company, I preferred to let the dispatcher know that, although, I had car insurance, I was not interested in filing a claim to have my insurance company replace the entire windshield. I wanted to pay to have the rock chip repaired out of my own personal funds. The young technician who came to my house to do the repair was prompt, clean, courteous, and seemed to know what he was doing. Immediately, after the repair, I was pleased. And, it appeared that I could hardly see the rock chip. However, the resin glue repair job came undone by the end of the day even though I did not drive my car that day. I called to complain and was told that any number of reasons could have contributed to the failure of the repair. None of the reasons given by the dispatcher related to the quality of the work. I was told that someone would contact me. But no one ever did. On July 19, 2011--I wrote a complaint letter to the local Safelite office, and, again no one ever responded to me. By then, I was done. Today, I am still driving around with that same rock chip spider web design on the passenger side of my car. Each time that I see it, I make a mental note: never, ever use Safelite , again!

Jason Mills from Safelite AutoGlass was perfect in every aspect: arrived exactly on time, was totally professional and very proficient and quick, he made sure that I knew exactly what he was going to do when/why; he made repairs that not only stopped potential cracking but made the one chip in driver's eye line ofsight virtually disappear; he was very personable and cheerful and even vacuumed the inside of car when he was finished with the glass repair. Even by Safelite high standards he was superb and worthy of an excellent rating. I will use them again and have recommended them to my friends.
Description of Work: Jason Mills from Safelite AutoGlass repaired two chip/dings in my front windscreen with my car in my driveway, as arranged through my insurance company. This was done to prevent propagation of chip into a crack which would require whole window replacement.

A small rock badly cracked my windshield, so I needed a replacement. I searched for auto glass online and found this Safelite location near where I live. I then checked for it on Angie's List. I made an Internet appointment and found the location easily. The technician was ready for my arrival and actually started on my car a few minutes early. Everyone at the location spoke to me and seemed very cordial. The technician did a walkaround inspection of my car with me before and after the work. He briefed me on what to do and what not to do (no car washes for 48 hours) after the service. He vacuumed the interior and left no smudges or smears anywhere on the exterior. My windshield is a bit more expensive than most, since it contains a heating element under the area where the wipers rest. I did a little comparison shopping when I was looking for a place, and found the price to be very competitive. I took the car in for service rather than having them come to me because there's limited space to work where I typically park. The waiting area was plain, but very clean and the whole process took almost exactly the time estimated when I made the appointment

I've always had a good experience with them. I have had four windshields replaced with them in the last year. I have had two different installers out and they both did a good job. They come to your home so that makes it easier. The pricing is reasonable. They are convenient and they work on site. I have scheduled with them on line and its always been done within 3 days.

While on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC our BMW 530xi front passenger side window (next to glove box) was smashed in and the trim was also attempted to be pried up. Luckily I put everything valuable in the trunk and the people were in too much of a hurry to explore the rest of the vehicle. USAA put me in touch with Safelite in SC but they did not carry the window. After a noisy drive home to NoVA the next day - Sunday - we took the car in and the window was replaced under two hours. The guy vacuumed up more glass in the rest of the car and cleaned the windows and glass stuck in the door. First I couldn't believe they were open on Sunday. Then they had the right window to install. The woman in the office was courteous and helpful while the tech doing the car window was very nice and professional. I would take my cars back there to be worked on and I would recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: The front passenger side window was smashed through by vandalism and it was R&R at the facility on Gravel Rd in Springfield, VA. The tech also walked us through the problems with auto windows not resetting and advised us to take it into the dealer. He also walked us through all the process and cleaned up glass in the door plus in the car.

Overall, the experience was terrific. Every person I met associated with this particular Safelite store was fantastic. This type of person and customer service starts at the top. For instance, I went into the waiting area, and the General Manager came in to see how things were going. He didn't have a badge or announce that he was the GM, but one could tell. He then checked the coffee, found that it was low, and made a new pot himself! Servitude leadership is evident at this store. Your work will be done properly and at a fair price.
Description of Work: My high-end Mercedes had a windshield chip that turned into a long crack. Safelite, the authorized glass agent for my insurance company USAA, was directed to work my claim. Initially, I was a little skeptical because I wanted to ensure OEM glass was installed - and that it was done right. Nobody touches my MB unless it's the dealer! After I was assured by my insurance company that an OEM windshield was going to be installed, Safelite called me to set up an appointment (4 hour window) to replace. The repairman arrived on time and was very knowledgeable concerning his trade. He strongly suggested that I take my car into the Safelite shop because of the complexity of my particular windshield. He arranged an appointment and within an hour my window was being replaced.

not real good...I was given contact information and referred by my insurance company, USAA. They were prompt in coming out and sheduling was easy...then the bad part begins. Tech comes out and damages my cars molding..it was a disaster and pretty bad exeperience getting safelite to admit liability. Once they did their executive team was pretty good at trying to make things right but while they fixed the car it took forever and they didn;t leave me feeling very confident in their services. Prices, I learned later were almost double everyone else in the area and so I would never use them again.

I called the toll free number for service in the Northern VA area around 1100. I was given an estimate for $79.95 to repair two chips in my windshield. I was told my insurance company does not waive the deductible for chip repair and I ended up paying for the service instead of going through insurance. The technician called about 1215 to say that he would be able to be at my workplace by 1300. He called at 1305 and said he was downstairs in front of the building. I met him and we drove to my car in the parking garage. He explained all the details of what he was doing. He was done in 30 minutes or so.

The technician didn't arrive during the scheduled 4 hour window of time, so I called them and they said he was still at his first call and that he had some problems with his first installation so it would be another hour until he arrived at my house. 2 1/2 hours later he finally arrived, but he had the wrong color trim, so he proceeded with installing the windshield and had to come back the next morning to install the correct color trim. Also, he had the wrong windshield wipers. As part of the windshield replacement, they also offer to replace your windshield wipers for a cost. I agreed and even confirmed with the representative that the cost quoted included three windshield wipers because my vehicle's windshield has three wipers instead of two like most other vehicles and the representative confirmed that it should be specific to my make and model vehicle. Well, when the tech arrived, he had the wrong size and wrong quantity of windshield wipers and therefore said I wouldn't be charged for them since he didn't have the correct ones to install. Safelite charged me for them anyway - I called to get the charge removed...they said they would. Over a week passed and they still hadn't reverse the charge. I had to call again to finally get them to remove the charge - took another 4 days, but it was finally removed. This particular Safelite location is very sloppy with how they supply their technicians - two of three items were incorrect for my make and model vehicle. And, they are very slow to correct charges. I wouldn't recommend using this location of Safelite.

It went well. My auto was taken-in immediately even though I arrived a little before my appointment. The installer seemed to know his business. The work was done in the time quoted. My only complaint is that the rearview mirror "jiggles" (vibrates) now, a distraction. I will follow-up with Safelite.

I filled out Safelite's on line form requesting a callback within 30 minutes they called him and he was amazed. They linked him with the Safelite branch closest to his office, and came to his work the next day to replace the windshield for far less than we thought it would be. That 30-minute callback feature is great!

My experience was excellent. I found Safelite through Angie's list. I booked my appointment on line, which was extremely convenient. They offered service appointments as early as the very next day, but I opted for a Saturday appointment, which was very convenient for me. What's more, Safelite came to my house to perform the work, which made it all the more convenient. They do not charge extra to come to your home or office. The service technician was very professional and knowledgeable, arrived on time, and completed the entire job correctly in about 45 minutes. He also provided important instructions about care of the windshield for the following 48 hours while the adhesive was to set. I was impressed also with the quality of the windshield itself. It was a perfect match. Finally, the value was excellent. My total bill was $292, inclusive of parts, labor, and taxes. I highly recommend them.

Liked the idea of Safelite AutoGlass coming to my location/home for the replacement work, avoiding the inconvenience of drop off, arranging transportation, picking up, etc. What a mistake. While Safelite offers this service, they are not equipped to perform it satisfactorily. Upon arriving home, there were at least 50 shards of glass in the driveway and at least an equal number of shards in the mulch and yard right next to the driveway. These shards were what remained of the window that Safelite removed in order to replace the window not shards from when the window was originally broken. The simple concept of a tarp or plastic drop cloth is apparently lost on Safelite. I called their Customer Service Center and heard the things one wants to hear from a Call Center, apologies, promises to rectify the situation, etc. Arriving home the following day, most (not all) of the shards had been picked up from the driveway but not any of the shards from the yard.
