They provided excellent quality of service and they were one of the lowest priced companies that we got quotes from.

Due to the logistics of moving back to the area, I was under some very tight time constraints for starting and completing this project. Homm was very flexible and was able to start the project within 5 days of the original estimate. The project was also competed in half the time estimated (only took 1 day, rather than 2 days).

Andres was very quick to answer my inquiry, within one day. He was able to come out for a walk around and estimate within a couple of days. Normally he gives the estimate on the spot, but given the oddness of the house and the carpentry work required, he took measurements and went back to the office. I had the estimate within a couple of days at the most. He was very thorough in his questions and clearly understood the amount of work that needed to be done on the damaged wood. The estimate was higher than the others I received, but less than I had expected to pay for the painting - and it included the deck cleaning, which was not on my original list. The work was scheduled within a couple of weeks, but he was able to move the schedule up so that it was done more quickly than we expected. The job took about three days. The team on site communicated to us periodically issues that they were having along the way so I felt that they were fully addressing problems that came up. The quality of the work was very good. I selected this group because I felt that they had the carpentry skills to do the job right, and so far as we can tell, they did. Andres was very helpful at various points along the way. We had a little bit of a delay in some clean up, but it was resolved immediately.

Removal of wallpaper took twice as long as expected and cost twice as much. I was made aware of this possiblity. The hallways walls had two layers of wallpaper cover with paint. The wall was not properly prepared when the first layer of wall paper was installed. It was a difficulty and messy job. However, the results were beautiful. Three days was the original estimate to do the job providing no unforseen circumstances. Due to the wallpaper removal in the hall the job went into a fourth day and could have used the fifth day as well. As a result, there were 6 workers here the last day to get the job done as they knew they had a deadline. The down side was that the cleanup was not sufficient and the stairway railing was marred. The company was quick to respond and correct any problems.

Andres was very professional and punctual. He was, unfortunately, out of town when the work was done. He would have preferred to wait to start our job until he was here, but our schedule did not allow for it. There were a few starts and stops with his crew, but they were always flexible and pleasant and worked with us to resolve our concerns. The price was very good and we are pleased with the results.

Pros: The estimate was similiar to others and what I had expected to get and the final price was exactly the same as the estimate. The job was completed in about 6 hours and Andres (the owner) came by to check in on the work half way through. He was very good about returning calls and emails quickly regarding paint color, timing of the job, etc. The walls looked good and they filled all nail pops and holes that I asked (and didn't fill those where I would be rehanging things). Cons: They were a little bit late the day of the job, but only about 45 minutes or so and Andres called to let me know about the issue. Also, there were about 5 or 6 spots, specifically on the stairs where it's not that well lit, where there were drips on the trim. They could have been a little more conscientious about the cut in work there and in one other place near the front door trim. Basically, it was a good experience and I would recommend them to a friend - reasonable prices, good work for the most part and the owner, Andres, is very professional and easy to deal with.

Andre the owner came out to give me an estimate. As we walked around the house I found more and more things that needed to be painted. He had the lowest of three estimates and was the quickest to respond. Andre was fabulous. He is one of the best contractors that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. The crew did the job very quickly and well. They were just outstanding in every respect. He is straight A's! I would give him A+ if I could. My husband thinks that we should give him a point of happiness award.

Fantastic. Andres provided an exact quote and options for the job. He was careful to show us areas that he thought might be problematic (wood rot, etc.) and was thorough in walking us through each step. The team was there for three days and Roger, the supervisor, kept in contact with us each night with the plan for the next day. Excellent work.

Andres was excellent from start to finish on returning emails, prompt quotes, precise revisions, and good old fashioned polite young man! The crew arrived on time and did excellent preparation work. Painting was precise and looks fantastic.

It was handled professionally and competently from first estimate to final inspection. Mr. Matheu was a pleasure to deal with, as was his crew. We would have given the group straight A's if the work hadn't been delayed by the wettest spring in years, which wasn't their fault but linadequate communication added a level of frustration. As challenges came up during the course of the work, like the discovery of some rotten trim, we were alerted and given the opportunity to use outside workers, but Homm's estimates for the work were so reasonable we used them and were pleased. On the last day of the work, they failed to eliminate dripped stain on concrete; to their credit, especially since we had paid in full, they returned several times until their efforts to remove the stain were successful. In almost 45 years of home ownership we've never had painters we would use again or recommend to friends, but we would frecommend Homm painting and Andres Matheu. -- The final cost was somewhat higher only due to unexpected problems like the wood replacement and ceiling repair.

The house looks great. Andres was very responsive and professional and his crew, lead by Roger, was polite, thorough, and cleaned up all debris. They were on time each day and worked until it was all done. This was a BIG, dirty job and they did it all in the number of days they said. I would recommend them to anyone - and have.

Service representative set up an appointment immediately for an estimate. He was knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done and came in at the same rate as several other estimates. Homm offers a variety of stain options, and the service rep quickly found one that would work for us. The work was done quickly, with specific instructions on when the deck could be used again, and extra stain was left for any needed touch-ups.

HOM?s response to our request for an estimate was very professional. They responded quickly, provided good advice on what might be included in the job, and measured carefully before preparing the estimate. Their prices were very competitive. Although we selected a different contractor for the job, they ranked highly in our evaluation of the competitors, and would have been a reasonable choice under other circumstances.

The job went beautifully, from my standpoint. The work crew arrived on time each morning and worked continuously until quitting time. There was excellent communication between workers and overseeing supervisors. A foreman was on the premises at all times, and the work crew was primarily English-speaking. Every detail specified in the work proposal was done (and without requiring reminders from me!). I was impressed with the professionalism, the attention to detail and workmanship, the willingness (of their own volition) to do the various tasks with perfection. They took pride in their work and cared about what they were doing. Work crews sufficiently covered surfaces (in my case, floors and carpeting), were careful in general in every area of my house. At the end of each work day, the work crew cleaned up after themselves -- including vacuuming. It's been a long time since I experienced this level of workmanship in a contracted company. After one coat of paint, I decided I needed a paint color one shade darker than the one I'd chosen. No one flinched at this change mid-job and pleasantly worked with me to get the color just right, which required one extra coat of paint. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I have much remaining work to be done here and will definitely call this company again!

Could not have been happier. The team was on time, worked incredibly efficiently and got the job done fast. The paint job looks great. They moved all the furniture out of the way and moved it back when they completed the job.

The job was done very well; I'm pleased, and I'm a perfectionist. Of course, it takes me ten times as long to get a job done as a professional would, which is why I frequently hire contractors. We were very concerned about the ceilings in both of the remodeled bathrooms; the contractor left caulking all over the ceiling, and we weren't sure that Andres' crew was going to be able to paint this properly. But they did - beautifully. I've provided a picture of a now-white ceiling - I wish I'd taken a "before" picture so you could see how well this turned out! As others have noted, there are some minor problems here and there that shouldn't have occurred, or should have been cleaned up better. For example, a few paint splatters here and there - but I have to say that it's far fewer splatters than we've seen with other painters. And there are a dozen places where small pieces of their paint rollers came off and are on the wall - they should have noticed those and fixed them. I had removed all electric switch and outlet plates so they wouldn't get paint on them, and at one outlet they didn't get the paint quite close enough to the outlet (see picture). At a couple outlets and switches, they ran the roller too close to the switch or outlet, and got a bit of paint on the side or bottom. But that's simple to scrape off with a fingernail. But none of these are real problems; they are very minor for me to fix myself, and I'm very pleased with the job that was done. I'm sure that Andres would have returned to fix them if I'd asked him to, but I don't need him for that.

Andres was on time for the estimate and overall gave us the lowest bid. On the day of the job the painters showed up on time. They expected to have the work completed in one day, but at 5pm they still had a long way to go. We had not moved into the house yet so I did not mind them staying late, but questioned the quality of the work since we had not moved any of the lamps into the house. They finished up that night at 8pm and when I went by the next day for the walk through I noticed some of the corners were not completed there were still nicks and cracks on the baseboard as well as paint on the windows and the front glass door. When I went through this with Andres he said to me that what I got was the "Average Job", I found this infuriating as the contract did not stipulate that I was paying for an average job, I expected rightly so a professional and well done job. After spending almost 45 minutes negotiating with Andres he agreed to come back and do the touch ups. The touch ups look good, however, our biggest problem is now with the floors. Andres knew we were having new wood floors put in and that we were very concerned about possible damage. Being that his crew was in a rush to finish, their clean-up involved pushing the paint dust into one area and then cleaning it up, as a result there is now paint dust stuck in between every one of my floor boards. There are also numerous paint specks on the floor that we have spent hours trying to chip off of the wood. Overall, this was a very disappointing and frustrating experience.

Andre was very professional and prompt in scheduling and attending the appointment. It took longer to schedule than the other estimates I got because Andre preferred using the phone instead of email and we kept missing each other. He was very professional when we met but I did not get a sense of confidence from him that he knew his work. At the end of the day his estimate was the highest of the three I received so I did not go with him.

Everything went extremely well. Andres was very punctual in coming to the house for the estimate. He went over the estimate in detail and explained the part of the estimate that was subject to change once the rotted wood was fully examined. The job started on the day he told us and he followed up with us each day to let us know what progress had been made. Before the replacement siding was purchased, he contacted us to go over the new cost estimate for our approval. The crew cleaned up each night and when the job was completed everything was as it was before the job started.

I sent three e-mails to three top-rated Angie's List exterior painters, requesting estimates. Homm came back to me within a couple of hours. I met with the Andres Mathieu within 48 hours of my initial e-mail, and he followed up the detailed meeting with a detailed proposal. Andres was very, very professional and also a pleasure to deal with, a nice guy who truly cares about the quality of the work performed by his team and the reputation of his company. I preferred my experience with Homm to the other two companies before I received any estimates, and was amazed to discover Homm's estimate was the lowest-bidder. We went with them, signed the contract, and they started work within a week of our final meeting. The crew was on-time, neat, friendly and completely professional. I would have them back to my house for another job in a heartbeat. An absolutely outstanding experience!

Phenomenal. Cost was the lowest of the estimates I got, but I went with them because of the reviews here and (since it was my first search on Angie's list) simply hoped that I wouldn't be let down and have to sacrifice quality for cost. Not to fear, the work looks great, clean, and was quick. Communication with Andres was great; he was always on time to meet me, thoroughly explained the quote and the work they would do, and helped match the colors. They did the work for the cost quoted, and on the morning when the painters arrived, I asked if they could also paint the master bathroom (which wasn't part of our original contract). We quickly settled on a price and they were flexible enough to add it to the job that day. I let the painters in in the morning, and by the time I got home from work, the job was done. I've never hired painters before, so I don't really have a point of comparison, but I can't imagine a much better, more professional experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic. Andres Matheu, Homm president, provided a thorough estimate, describing in detail the work to be done and projecting the amount of time needed to replace rotted wood. There were absolutely no surprises and he kept me informed every step of the way. He works with an excellent crew with a knowledgeable foreman. They did a fantastic job and left the area immaculate after they were done.

Andres showed up on time for the estimate and was extremely helpful regarding what colors would look best in the living room (we had a terrible color of yellow painted two years ago - it had to go). We talked about crown molding and he suggested that would look great in our living room with 10' ceilings, but counseled against crown molding that was too wide. We took his advice on the color and the crown molding and are very happy. In the bathrooms, we had Homm repaint with the same color we had already. But we had them deal with significant condensation and mildew problems as well. Andres suggested what the problems could possibly be and suggested a solution. He promptly sent us emails and followed-up with phone calls to make sure that everything looked good (the pricing was great!) and to see if we had any questions. When we finalized the bill he noted that Homm was busy, but that he hoped to call within the next two weeks. Andres called within the week and his crew showed up on time, worked until early evening, finished the job and even showed up the next morning (Sunday) to do some minor touch-up work! The work was professional, prompt and pleasing. The one thing we wish is that they had taken just a bit more time to clean up the bathrooms. Attention to very, very minor details is wanted. We highly recommend Homm to anyone for prompt, professional and friendly service for interior painting and repair. Their prices are great, too.

Homm Certified Painting Systems did a fabulous job from start to finish. They arrived on time for the initial meeting (estimate for job) and followed up accordingly after the quote was provided. They were always very professional and courteous. We are very pleased with the exterior paint services and the fact that they cleaned up after the job. I would highly recommend them.
