The technician seemed to know his stuff. He was able to explain the situation clearly. Work seems to have done very well. Its hard for me to know about the price since I don't have knowledge here. Scheduling was painless.

Very well. Service man serviced the double doors and repaired wiring. Re programmed the openers. Doors now work smoothly and are synchronized.

The garage door opener just froze and stopped working. We called made an appointment. Technician showed up on time and said the opener could not be repaired. We purchased a new one from the technician as he had one on the truck. We talked about price and quality of the product and decided this was a good option. Did a great job installing the new opener and programming the remote. Checked the garage door several times using keypad and remote before he left. Liked the company and we got an Angie's List discount. I would recommend them to anyone.

Two persons showed up after 9AM (promised between 9 and 11). They checked the garage door issue and started taking off the old spring and replacing it with a new one. They recommended me to have a tuneup on the garage door (change wheels, oil all moving parts and re-tight all nuts and bolts), which I agreed. The result was that my 15-year-old garage door runs smoothly and quietly. Hope I can get 2-5 years out of the current garage door before I replace it. I called to have them come out to have a look - one of the torsion springs broke, and I had tried to replace them w/ springs from Home Depot, and it worked for a week but then wouldn't lift the door up w/o help. So I needed to call in the pros... They were on time with the time frame for an estimate, had all the information I needed to make a decision, and applied ZERO pressure to go one route or the other - the estimate to just replace the spring was lower than I thought it would be, and the option to replace the whole door was also lower than I thought it would be. So I went with the basic insulated steel door to replace our old heavy (and noisy) wood door. They came to do the work within a week (we had no special order items) and my wife was wholly satisfied with their attitude, promptness, and professionalism. This experience is what hiring vendors should always be. Keep up the great work PFGD!

Jose has been tremendous throughout this whole process. He showed up within hours after an emergency service call was placed and helped secure the door. Unfortunately, the damage was extensive and the costs to repair the door made spending a little more to get a new door a better option. He took his time and explained all of the pros and cons of the new door and ultimately helped us settle on an insulated door to replace the the older, flimsy builder grade door that we had. The door was a special order and took about 2 weeks to come in. But, during that time, Jose kept in contact with us and let us know where we were in each step of the process. The door was finally installed this past Saturday, 5/30/15 by Isias, Jose's brother. He was prompt and courteous and did a fantastic job removing the old door and installing the new door. He even took the time to center our existing garage door opener and install an additional brace on the opener so that is wasn't so "wobbly" - all at no additional cost! I would certainly use Family Prestige again and a;ready referred them to my neighbor who stopped in during the installation to talk about his own garage door. Top notch in all respects. The 2 person crew showed up ont time between the 2hr window. Installation took less than an hour. The crew was personable, informative and clearly knew what to do. Recommend.

Purchased deal with Angie's List for $99 ($249 value) May 7 and gave three suggested dates to schedule service. Provider contacted me May 11 to confirm service date May 14 between 9-11 am. Jose arrived 10:15 am and completed work 11:05 am.

My old garage door opener died unexpectedly and I needed a replacement installed as soon as possible. Family Prestige Garage Doors was able to come out on very short notice and on my requested day (a Saturday). The installer arrived during the designated window, was very polite and efficient, and solved an unexpected problem (I had already purchased the replacement opener, but hadn't realized I needed extension rails because of the height of my garage) so that the installation could proceed as scheduled. Overall, I was very happy with the service and would recommend the company to others.

Luis arrived towards the end of the two hour window but quickly told me what the problem was, and got to fixing it. He also provided some helpful advice on replacing the system in the future without being pushy about it. He also provided a quick fix to why our garage light wasn't working--we needed to use another lightbulb! I was very happy with the service and would use them again.

This was the warm and fuzzy repair experience that every repair should be. We replaced our garage door opener on our new house a couple of months ago and we were having periodic issues with the door not closing. We'd had another garage door person over and they couldn't find the issue. Luis came very promptly and very quickly assessed that the doors were too close to the framework of the door and they were rubbing, causing interference and thus, the doors could not close. He was able to shim the door and track out about 1/4 inch. It now opens and closes perfectly. The solution was relatively easy and Luis was very professional. By the time he had left he'd fully explained the repairs he had made and showed me how on the other door the same repair will likely be needed. We don't currently use that side, so I opted to forgo the repairs at this time. I am very pleased at how easy making the appointment was and how prompt they were. All in all an A+ experience. Thank you very much!

The provider initially came out and replaced the springs on our 20+ yr old garage door. 3 months later it broke completely. They came back out (prompt as always) and even gave us a discount because they had just worked on our garage. They were professional, knowledgeable, and even offered to come back if we had difficulty programming additional garage door openers!

The technician arrived very promptly. He was both pleasant and professional. He explained his recommendations, asked for approval to proceed, completed the job in a timely manner. Would I use them again, absolutely yes. I have not been disappointed by an Angie's reference. I have been a member for a while now.

Was punctual and courteous. Took a while to install the garage door opener. That is to be expected. Technician was in a hurry to leave so I did not get a chance to review everything before he left. As long as the door opener opened and closed was fine with me. After the technician left, there were so many red and white wires bundled up over the opener, I wished that I had a chance to ask him if he could make those excessive long wires look more neat, or perhaps cut what was not needed, or perhaps hide them. I called the company and asked them about the yellow wire hanging underneath the opener, and they told me that it was needed and if I cut that wire that it would void the contract. I did not get a chance to ask them about all the other wires above the opener. Also, I had a keypad on the outside of the garage, if I had known that it would leave so many marks and be so unsightly on the outside of my garage, I would have asked the technician to leave it there. Now I have to caulk and paint that area. I was asked why did I want to remove the old garage door opener. Also, the technician repeated more than 3 times that the motor may burn out quickly because a small part of my garage door was bent, but I had no concern about that because I had my old garage door opener over 10 years. But because he would not complete the installation of the security lock that I wanted to attach to the garage door opener, I think, the reason he repeated over and over again is because the garage door opener that he gave me had a DC motor constructed with brushes and a commutator which add to the maintenance, limit the speed and usually reduce the life expectancy of brushed D.C. Me not knowing garage door opener operation, I would much rather had a AC to DC opener. I wish he had time to explain this to me, because I never would have chosen a DC motor. The technician installed my opener correctly, but was inexperience in discussing with the customer the many different options there are. Use this company, but ask them to send someone more seasoned especially if you are not familiar with garage door openters. I sure the technician would blame my bent garage door if the motor burns out in 3 years or less, but in actually it is a opener that operatoes on DC power. I got screwed.

They were very professional and explained each step. They didn't pressure me; just gave me the facts about repair vs. replace. They completed the job very quickly and both garage doors work great!

A spring on my garage door broke, but thankfully no cars were in the garage at the time. I called Luis first thing in the morning and told them it wasn't an emergency and gave them the two earliest days that would be convenient for me. I told them it wasn't an emergency because I didn't want to get charged an emergency fee. Of the two dates they selected one that was further out, but I was ok with that. They gave me a window of 1p - 3p and Luis showed up at 3pm on the dot. Ok, I would have preferred that he made it out closer to 1pm than 3pm, but the bottom line is he arrived during the time period promised, and I appreciated that. Honestly, knowing the traffic around my house at that time of day I pretty much expected him to be late. Luis got started right away and did a great job. I was a little surprised when the bill came because it was about $42 more than I expected based on the conversation I had with him over the phone (he had a picture of the damage to refer to at the time). But he explained that the price I was quoted was for replacing one spring - not both (I wanted both done, and had asked for that, but there was a communication problem). Considering the price of the springs, and looking over prices he charged, I think I got a fairly reasonable price. I'm tempted to give these guys a "B" for the higher price, but based on what he's charged other Angie's List members I'd say this price was appropriate. Although I am left wondering if I could have negotiated a better deal. Still. I'm satisfied. I'd highly recommend using them, and I'll certainly use them again in the future, but remember that the price they tell you over the phone is only tentative until they see the damages. Also note that Luis greased my garage door for no charge.
