We received a Landmark Home Warranty with the purchase of our home. We have used their services three times so far. Each service call is $60.00. We are able to request service via online. Landmark HW has been responsive. We have had to call the specific service provider to make sure we get on their schedule but that hasn't been a problem. We highly recommend Landmark Home Warranty.

I recently had a service tech come out for my older fridge covered by Landmark. He got the compressor to start spinning but it never cooled. I called and he contacted Landmark about getting a new compressor. I called Landmark a few days later and due to age of fridge they were going to do a cash out on it. It would be about $400. Landmark contacted me that they were going to give me $630. I had already ordered a new fridge and that was more then I had paid for a new one. I am happy.

They're not a good company. We won't be dealing with them any more. They have untrained employees and it just depends on who you talk to whether or not your claim will be approved. Then they will tell you that the first person that you spoke to was their first day on the job. They are very expensive, too, compared to what you get.

It's been okay. No complaints. They could be more specific as to who they use, and allow me to choose from that list.
Description of Work: I got a warranty for a year, which was included in the purchase of my home. It covers anything post inspection - water heater, A/C, pipes. They charge me $60 to look at it. If there's an issue, Landmark would take care of it at their expense. If they don't find anything, I still pay $60.

Landmark's contractors did an exceptional job of diagnosing both my plumbing and heating claims. I was happy that a leaking faucet is covered under the contract (which was never covered by the previous home warranty company that I used) and Landmark replaced the furnace with a new one due to a cracked heat exchanger. I did my research before buying the Landmark home warranty, and it has paid off in a big way with great savings and peace of mind!

We've dealt with Landmark on 6 different occasions for services that were covered - rekeying on move in, a leaking A/C drain, two leaking plumbing supply lines, and a drain line leak. Only the rekey and AC issues went smoothly. Each of the other times, we've been told conflicting information. They've tried repeatedly to deny claims that were covered. They've said "We have 24 hours to get someone out (when water was leaking under our house)" while setting up an appointment for 2 business days after our initial call. They pass calls around from person to person, and each person seems to have no idea what should or should not be covered, and they blame that on "training issues." We've had them tell us an item is covered at 10 a.m., then leave messages at 7:30 p.m. saying that the claim is actually denied. Dealing with them has turned already stressful situations into total nightmares. We got the warranty paid for by the seller when we purchased our house, and we've gotten the money back on it, but only by being willing to repeatedly call, demand to talk to a manager (repeatedly), and detail our experiences in real time on social media. Otherwise, their marching orders seem to be to deny claims and delay services until customers give up.

As for the initial confusion regarding what was covered under your specific contract, as previously explained, earlier this year we had a system switch-over so that we could provide a more efficient database to our employees with an end goal of providing better service to our customers. With your contract, the full details of your coverage were not transferred over to the new system correctly. Our guest bathroom did not get any hot water. The guy that came and fixed it was great. He was so nice and professional. I've actually used landmark home warranty six months prior to fix my stove. That guy was great as well. I heard all the horror stories with home warranty companies but Landmark Home warranty has been really good to me so far. Update as of 1-17-14 - I called to renew my service. Now, Landmark gets a grade C for this. The customer service at renewal time was VERY different than the customer service at sign up. When I called to renew, I asked for a comparison of the different plans. They emailed me a 16 slide Power Point pages. It was difficult to read. It was not simplistic. What customer wants to see this? Just be simple. Just looking at it made my head hurt. I was so frustrated that I wound up calling them back and the second representative was just as useless as the first. All I asked for was a side by side comparion of the different plans. Long story short, I wound up emailing the representative that helped me when I BOUGHT the policy. She gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. Had she not contacted me back, I would have called another company

I purchases a home warranty from Landmark. The ice maker on my refrigerator needed to be fixed. I called Landmark and they forward my information on to some fly by night tech. The tech called, I gave him the model and serial number from my refrigerator. He said he would come on Wednesday. I call on Wednesday to confirm. The tech doesn't know who I am, doesn't have the part to fix the fridge. I call Landmark, they MAKE me use the same tech to reschedule the appt. The tech finally comes to install a new ice maker. The ice maker still does not work. I call Landmark and request a different tech. But I am informed I have to use the same tech because Landmark already paid him. I will not be using LandMark again!!!

Called Landmark Warranty for yearly heating service. The contractors checked the whole unit and explained what was done on the inside of the system. He then when to the unit outside and was advised that the system was leaking and needed to be repaired or replaced. The contactor contacted Landmark reference this matter and what is required. During this time period I was on temp duty with the military. After my return the contractor told me that Lankmark authorized replacement of the unit. The unit was changed out and tested. I was also lucky that I had the freon service added to my contracted. I save over $3000 easy. Ms Elisabeth from Landmark helped me and the contractor on some questions, but everything was cleared up and the job was completed.

Horrible experience dealing with Landmark Warranty.
Description of Work: We have struggled with every claim we have filed with this home warranty company. Our most recent claim was for the salt cell on our pool and the company who services our pool on a weekly basis found the problem and said it was a common one. We filed a claim with Landmark and they sent a company out who had a bad rating with the BBB for always siding with the warranty companies and they said we had a power surge and it wasn't covered. Hmm if we had a power surge why wasn't any thing else damaged but of course no one would answer that question. We spoke to the warranty company and expressed our disbelief in the diagnosis and we were offered a second opinion from a different contractor which we accepted. The second company said a power surge was not possible and said we had a bad control unit and he would call it in and could repair immediately. When he called it in the customer service rep denied it saying that computer components were not covered. First of all there's no computer on the system and when my husband spoke to the rep she kept repeating computer equipment was not covered. By this time the service man had left. We pulled a copy of our warranty and called Landmark back we got a different customer service rep and when we read the warranty to her she approved the request. Unfortunately the service man had already left and we had to reschedule a time for him to return. As we had told Landmark we were having a pool party in a few days and we were running out of time and no one was trying to help us get the pool fixed in time. Ultimately the problem was fixed in time for our party but the entire ordeal was uncalled for as the issue was covered but if we had listened to the first rep we would have never known. Also this was not the first time we had called and gotten a service rep who didn't know what was covered. Earlier in the summer we had a clogged pool deck drain and when we called to file the claim we were told it was covered but when the service man arrived and called it in the claim was denied. When I called to ask why I was told the customer rep was new and she would be counseled, OH and I wasn't responsible for the $60 service fee. Well since it cost me $250 for the repair there was no way we were going to pay the service fee. We won't be renewing our warranty with Landmark when it expires as the high cost of the warranty is not worth the return

Over the last year of having the policy, we called Landmark 4 times. Three times they were fabulous, and one time was a horrid nightmare. My issue was resolved, but it took over two months to complete the case on a broken dishwasher. In the end, we did re-up for another year of service based on the three good experiences. I reviewed many other home warranties and this one seemed the lesser of all the evils.

I called Landmark to report a leaking toilet. Within 2-3 hours a plumbing company called to schedule an appointment. (And this was not an emergency call! I was amazed they were so fast.) Plumber came within the set appointment time. He was pleasant, was knowledgeable, made a repair and doubled checked everything to assure he had solved the problem. Everyone I dealt with at both Landmark and Scott Plumbing was professional, pleasant and efficient. Note: $60 is the service call. That is in addition to the annual premium. Though I think home warranties are not cheap, Landmark seems to fall in the median of other companies I investigated. Their service, however, at least in this one incident, is superior to the warranty company I used in the past. I've never had a major item with either company, but even the small things matter. I am thus far very pleased.

I was contacted within a few hours of submitting a claim to fix my a/c unit. They emailed the information on the service provider and his number in case he did not call me within a reasonable length of time. After the repairs were done they contacted me to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction (which it was). The funny thing was, this was the second time in two days I had to call. One of my a/c units wasn't working and the very next day another unit went out. I was hesitant to call, but they were extremely professional and did not make me feel like an idiot about two units in two days! The service provider they sent was also excellent and I will also review them on Angie's list, too I would recommend Landmark to anyone. I have not had real good luck previously with home warranties and this has been a very pleasant experience. Thanks Landmark!
