Additional email - ryan@lemcodesign.com. Lemco design was started in the late 1950's with the sole purpose of becoming a bid house for commercial floor coverings in schools, churches, and other institutions. As time went on there became a demand to grow into the residential market, and in the mid1980's Lemco began to shift gears and cater to residential remodels, and new home construction.
Lemco (subcontracted from Costco) installed carpet for us. Their installer: *Had the wrong address missed appointment window *Destroyed oak thresholds and replaced with cheap ugly metal ones with nails that poke up into our feet/socks (and didn’t even put nails in all the holes). Without even talking to us *Left carpet with no attached underlyament so it was stretched over an air gap between rooms *Charged extra for installing around a trap door but did nothing to protect the edges of the carpet, just cut it and left it to fray and tear apart *repeatedly slammed a door against a wall and left a hole in the wall from it *Left a nail poking up through the carpet in the middle of the room *Moved the trap door handle, and cut a hole in the carpet to install it, but didn’t actually install it, he asked me to do that. Now it no longer matches with the strike plate on the wall which means we need to install another strike plate and repair more drywall to remove the old one. *Left without providing a final walk through because he was "late for another job" *Left the gate open and the dogs out when he left. I called lemco back, and their rep: *Scheduled a followup for another tech to come review -- they missed that appointment *Scheduled a second follow-up, This was also missed *Had the original installer come back unannounced to do repairs while my wife was trying to work from home (phone calls and hammers do not mix) *"Repair" work was still not satisfactory -- Underlayer was added but didn't actually fix the issue, the floating carpet still floats. The carpet around the trap door is still fraying, *He did smash the nail poking up with a hammer so it doesn't stab through the carpet anymore. *Nothing else addressed, And he left the gate open again. *Lemco did offer a $200 costco cash card for the troubles but they didn't add it to the paperwork they asked me to sign. I Called Lemco again: Their agent refused my calls and directed me to an office manager. After talking with her for half an hour she was going to call and schedule another repair job. *Original scheduler called again and wanted to rehash all of the same information i discussed with the office manager, who he asked me to call! Overall: 3 Missed appointments, poor install job, Poor communication, poor internal communication by staff with each other. poor follow through on promises and apparently made attempts to skirt contract signing so Costco wouldn't know about the complaints. Service done in July, In December, i finally got Costco to have them add the cash card to the contract and resend so i could be done with them. So frustrated.

Craig showed up on time, however, he stated he would call the next day, but after 2 days he did not call. That makes me think he didn't really want to do the job.

We hired Lemco as a sub-contractor through another company. To date the project is not finished. Just to detail some of the issues that have occurred while waiting on paperwork my husband texted and called the salesman a couple of time and got no response and the paperwork was never sent. He expressed his concern of the lack of response and was told (paraphrasing) that if he felt it was insufficient that that the salesman would understand if we went elsewhere. Not a great start. We were told the installation would take 1 day so far we are at 3 not including the weekend. I have yet to receive a copy of all the complete signed paperwork after 2 requests. The workmen started to level an area of concern (my husband was home at the time) and then while they were in the middle of it told him it would cost extra and it would delay the finish time. My husband took more time off work to be there for the second day of installation and only 1 workman showed up. While he was finishing the living room it came light that they hadn't ordered enough flooring to finish the project. It would have to be ordered and would arrive on Monday and installation would be completed. Due to work constraints we arranged for my father in law to drive 20 miles from his home to let the workmen and make sure it was going well. They never showed up. My husband had to make several phone calls to learn that the installers were scheduled for Tuesday not Monday. The salesman got the date wrong. So I am hoping after tomorrow we will never have to deal with this company again. I think it is important to note that they have covered the cost of the extra flooring and cost of labor but this has just been too much of a headache to make it worth it.

Lemco sales representative made a mistake with the bid on the project. Then refused to pay for their mistake and held up completion of my project. When they were forced by a third party to correct the mistake, tthey took 1 month to fix their mistake. While fixing their first mistake they made a second mistake which they then refused for pay for as well. After another month and prompting by a third party they finally completed my project. It took 3 months to complete a job they said would take 7 days. The sales person was very unprofessional and refused to take responsibility for her mistake. She also made statement to the third party vendor involved that we would not talk to her so there was nothing she could do to fix the problem. In the end they only completed the job because they weren't getting paid by us and the third party vendor until work was fully complete. Dragging the project out for 3 months was just a spiteful thing to do by an incompetent sales person.

THE SALES PERSON CHRIS HILL WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH WHEN WE PURCHASED THE HARDWOOD FLOORING, HOWEVER, HE OFFERED CONTRACTING SERVICES FOR A REMOVAL OF A SUPPORTING WALL WITH A BEAM. LITTLE DID WE KNOW HE REALLY DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. THE SCOPE OF WORK WAS NOT COMPLETED AND LEFT US WITH A MESS! VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HIS WORKMEN SHIP. way over priced for the results we received. WE ARE HAPPY WITH LEMCO FLOORING AND WOULD PURCHASE AGAIN. UPDATE............. MARCH 14, 2014. CHRIS HILL CALLED US AND MADE ARRANGEMENTS OVER THE PHONE TO WORK OUT OUR PROBLEMS AND SOLVE ALL THE ISSUES BY WORKING THROUGH THE PROBLEMS THAT WE FELT WERE NOT ADDRESSED. WE ARE GLAD TO FINALLY HAVE SOME CLOSURE. HE WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND WAS WILLING TO LISTEN. VERY HAPPY WITH OUR FLOORING AND FINAL CONSTRUCTION.

We meet Lemco at the Home and Garden show in Sandy. They seemed to be very knowledgeable so we put them on the list to have come out and give us a bid. The time we spend chatting at the Hand G show seemed great, they were even running a 10% off carpet special if we brought in the ticket stub from the home and garden show. Lemco, like many others promised to price match competitors if it was apples to apples but also said their was no need to price match because they do their home work and make sure they have the lowest price. We had them come out measure then we meet with the sales rep at their show room. The education was good but the whole experience left be thinking that I the customer was privileged to buy carpet from Lemco, there was a lot of arrogance in the air. When they finally gave us their bid I was a little shocked. I was expecting them to be the lowest price since they "claimed" to do their homework and already be the lowest plus they where giving us 10% off so I expected rock bottom prices. What I also didn't like was they didn't give me their normal price and then tell me what the 10% off discount got me; so it got me thinking that if this was their 10% off price their normal price is probably closer to lowes and HD which was disappointing, or they just said it was "10%" off and they really didn't give any discount, it just seemed a little gray to me. Despite the dislikes I still wanted to buy carpet from them since they have been around for 30 years and talked about the quality of their service and warranty of install. I called and asked if they have a written policy for their "warranty" service and he said they didn't need one because they've been around so long that their name is their warranty. I expressed concern and wanted something in writing and the sales rep seemed almost offended that I would ask such a think from "Lemco" but agreed to put something in writing but was limited with annual carpet cleanings and pets, etc. I ended up sending the sales rep the lowest bid I received on the exact same carpet and pad which was significantly lowest price then Lemco. The sales rep called me back and said they wouldn't price match because the company I got the bid from didn't have the same reputation as Lemco and had only been in business for 5 years and was a smaller company. I almost started laughing because it seemed like such a lame excuse. I tried to call him out on the fact they told us they price match apples to apples but the sales rep just argued with me (again with the arrogant sales rep attitude). He was so aggregative with his argument that ended the phone call with a thanks but no thanks. So my overall impression is that they a little better than average prices, a good show room, arrogant sales reps, and policies they don't uphold; Who knows if they'll survive another 30years in business with practices like this; All of this is based on my experience with one sales rep; things may have been different with another sales rep but who knows. We decided to go with a company who wasn't afraid to put their install warranty in writing with no stipulations, had a good 15 years of good business reputation, and who honored their price matching policy.
Description of Work: we had several visits with a Lemco carpet sales rep and even had them come out for an estimate but decided in the end not to go with them for many reasons.

Was looking for a new floor, considered vinyl, Salesman Dustin said we could get Tile for close to the same price because of the floor prep. costs. We went with the tile, they offered to work on the weekend which made it much easier to assist my elderly Mother get to another Bathroom. The installer Paul's cement did not set up as quick as he planned so he finished the job on Sunday. Dustin forgot to quote butting the carpet up to tile in the price so he did it himself the following Tuesday. I did not shop around a lot, but for the quality and service was very happy with the price.
Description of Work: Had them remove Bathroom carpet and replace with Tile.
