Utah Flooring & Design

Do NOT use this company. Utah Flooring and Design provides a really beautiful product. I am talking about the actual floors. The process to get them in place however, is the worst. My project was a 400 square foot job. We scheduled 3 days **just in case**. The job took 1 week, including a weekend without a toilet or ANY communication about a plan. One week later, my floors are installed but the toilet was never sealed and the baseboards are not up to the standard I was expecting. They have little to no communication or time management skills. Any communication I did get from the project manager was usually after I called and left messages on every number I could find associated with this company. Day 1, I got a message stating someone was on their way at 10AM - they never showed up and they never contacted me to let me know they were not coming. Only after contacting the sales rep did I get any communication that they would not be making it out. I planned on being home on this day and it was completely wasted. Day 2, someone was allegedly en route at 10AM, but they did not show up until noon. The project was very clear, demo the main floor. After 4 hours of work, they demoed the tile, but left before pulling the carpet out. I sent multiple messages to the demo crew and the project manager asking what was going on and did not get any response. Day 3, I was told both the installer and the demo would be on site by 10 AM. The demo team showed up at 11AM to finish the job they left undone from the day before the demo guy stated it must have slipped his mind that they were supposed to pull out the carpet. The installers showed up around 12:30 and worked until 5PM. The product they were able to lay down was laid incorrectly and the floor seams were not flush. They told me they were leaving and only the base boards needed to be installed. When I got home, I found my bathroom incomplete (they ran out of product), the toilet in another room and my water turned off. NO COMMUNICATION about these little details. Of course, it was after 4PM so all phones were turned off and there was no communication at all for an entire weekend. Day 6 - I text the project manager AND her boss at 6:45 in the morning asking for communication about the plan. I finally got a phone call at 10AM stating someone was on the way. That someone did not show up until 4PM. He stayed until 8PM but again, the job was not done. He said he would be at my house by 8:15 the next morning to complete the baseboards and get the toilet resealed. Day 7, Installer finally showed up at 11AM, worked for an hour, left for two hours to another job and then returned to FINALLY complete the job. He ran out of baseboards and sent my boyfriend to a famous home appliance store to pick up more - it does not match, but its close enough â Iâ m learning to pick my battles or I fear that this job will never be complete. Every day through this process IF I was told a specific time someone would be arriving, it was NEVER accurate â even if you allow a two hour window for flexibility. I wasted at least 5 hours every day waiting around and sending texts asking for updates. I had to use unscheduled absence time at work because I was waiting for these jerks to come and complete a job that shouldâ ve been done in 2 days but took 7. While the floors are beautiful, the finishing details are subpar and do not look anything like a job that was billed at almost $4,000. Unfortunately, I get the impression that bad feedback is nothing new to Utah Flooring and Design and they really donâ t seem to care. The project manager has not tried to contact me at all to discuss this project, even after sending her multiple texts asking her to contact me so we can discuss the remainder of the bill. Please believe all the bad reviews, I wish I would have.

Didn't show up on scheduled day. Didn't finish project on time.

He was good to give us a call back, addressed all of our concerned and sent a man out to make the corrections.

The install looks great, and the quality is great as well! Had a couple hiccups, but Tara (project manager) and Carlos (installer) took great care of us.

The project turned out good, a few bad cuts,they should have took out the old flooring, easy to work with.

Unfortunately this never happened at all. The plan was to replace 15 stairs leading down to our basement. Guys came by, got the measurements, delivered the stairs but not the bull nose. Guys showed up to install the stairs, discovered they did not have everything, and ended up having to cancel. Rescheduled for three days later, Utah floor cancelled again. Rescheduled for four days later which was today, 5/22/20, and had to cancel again. Thing is, I took off of work all three days and these guys offered up compensation or anything so we cancelled altogether. Now I guess it is in question as to whether I am going to get my full refund back as there is some sort of handling fee. As far as I can tell, we did absolutely nothing wrong, we were very nice and showed a lot of patience. We also thought we would be helping out businesses during the pandemic crisis but apparently I guess business must be good so our little project never even got off the ground.

We had significant water damage to basement carpet. We decided to replace a large portion of the carpet with wood-look tile. The remaining carpet was cut and fit around the tile. It all looks great. The various workers were very helpful and nice.

very professional workers. Tar was easy to work with as project manager. Answered all my questions expediantly. Did a great job! would have liked help with moving heavy furniture. Had to hire someone to help.

There is a 5 year warranty on the stretching, but, even asking twice for it, never received it.

The wood floor looks great but unfortunately it has scratches really easy it is like there is no protectant on it.

We had some problems with our master bathroom tile and grout. The repairman came out and was friendly, no concerns there, but the finished product was not what I expected. The grout is discolored and does not match the rest of the grout.

They were fast, efficient and very good.

They were great until the project actually started and then we kept running into small issues that they continuously had to fix. First, the demo team showed up and tore out all the carpet floors. While they were there I pointed out two additional rooms that they did not tear out and they said that the flooring experts would do so. The flooring experts showed up and did the entire job in about 3 days (900 square feet). Which was good. But when they packed up to leave I pointed out that the two rooms were not floored. They were literally just the same floors as before. They responded they did not know they had to do those rooms. A few calls with the project manager and their was a different team that showed up 2 days later to do those rooms (and the same demo crew showed up to rip out the floors). In a single day the new crew put in the new floors but did not reinstall the toilet like it said in the contract. More calls with the project manager and they came back out the next day and installed the toilet. Finally there was ANOTHER issue. Halfway through the project we noticed black mold on the floor in the bathroom after the demo crew tore it up. We upped our contract for them to pull out the floor and replace it with non-moldy wood. When the second team showed up they had not heard about this so only put some mold killer down. This inspired ANOTHER call to the project manager who said she processed the refund for the additional amount since they had not put in new plywood floors. A month later I noticed our credit card bill was higher than expected and noticed that they had not processed the refund at all. ANOTHER call and they said they would but I am getting really tired of calling up this company for them to fix their mistakes. I called up the owners like they asked and all they did was tell me that I owe them more money. They keep charging my Credit card without permission and I finally had to call up my credit card company to completely block them.

They got the job done. i have had a few small issues already. but they were quick to c9me out and fix them.

They did an excellent job, and I didn t end up with a lot of wasted carpet. Therefore I didn t have to pay for extra carpet that wasn t necessary in the first place.

They did an awesome job. They laid new carpet and new wood floors. They completed the job when they said they would and asked questions if needed along the way. They made sure that everything was just the way it was suppose to be.
