Description of Work: Charged me 5 1/2 hours labor for. Simple reset of a GFI electrical outlet in a bathroom. When I asked the electrician what had been wrong, he admitted they didn't check the bathroom for this simple fix.

They were somewhat unreliable with their initial show time. They had bigger fish to fry, so I was put on the back burner for a few days. Their work was marginal at best and they over charger me by about four hours. Then they made a mistake with the type of breakers they used, so the inspector told them to fix it. Of course, I got an additional bill for $265. They made the mistake, and I had to pay for it! Then to find out this Spring they didn't wire the electrical outlet correctly. So, I called them to fix it. At first he tried to bluff me, but my dad is a master electrician and he said it wasn't done correctly. They agreed to fix it, but never bothered to show up! This is what you can expect if you choose them. I won't make that mistake again.
Description of Work: Installed electrical break box, two pool pumps, salt water control box, one timer, and three switches.

Response from Oechsner Electric
The work for this customer was on a time a material agreement. This means the customer pays for the labor by time and whatever material is required to complete the work. This puts the risk on the customer. It also means the customer will not have to pay money that contractors bid into fixed pricing. All contractors put extra money into the job to cover for what ifs. That being said this customer was installing the pool himself and supplying all the pool equipment. The additional cost was for a type of pumps that required two GFCI breakers at a cost of $148 dollars. This is not a standard installation. And the breakers were billed at cost with no mark up or labor charges. Regardless if Oechsner electric installed before or after the inspection the cost was the same. Actually it was less since we would have put our over head and profit into the price if we had installed them before the inspection. I recall at the time explaining this to the customer and he paid his bill. If a customer feels they have been cheated then the bill should be disputed. As far as being unreliable in the initial show up time because “they had bigger fish to fry”, this is complete misunderstanding what happened. Oechsner Electric prioritize it workers base on community needs as a whole. Electricity is service to modern life. Some of our customers are hospitals and industrial customers. If they have an emergency call then Oechsner Electric will give them priority over a swimming pool installation. A contractor must make the often difficult decision based on community needs and financial needs. Sometimes it is an elderly person that needs a service rebuilt so they can have oxygen. We take pride in giving every customer the service they desire but we only have so many workers. Scheduling is an extremely difficult task for any contractor that deal emergency calls. As far as not wiring an outlet right I am not sure what he is talking about. It looks like it worked for 6 months or so. Oechsner Electric tries to do whatever is possible to make sure our customers are satisfied and if a customer calls with concerns over pricing or the way there being taken care of we will deal with this matter. I have just learned of this review as of 6/13/11. In my opinion this customer had pre conceived expectations they were not consistent with the services rendered. Any time someone hires a contractor they should first try get a recommendation and then fully understand the pricing and steps of the project so there no misunderstandings and if there is a problem try to resolve it as soon as it comes to the customers attention. The Oechsner family has been doing electrical work since 1907 in Wichita Falls. We have an outstanding reputation for honesty and good workmanship. We plan on doing business in Wichita Falls for the long term so we take complaints seriously and will work with all customers to provide a satisfactory experience.
