Description of Work: Mr. Art Martinez provided a written estimate after viewing and discussing the work requested. The estimate was very reasonable. He performed the work as we agreed. His work is exceptional. When he finished, he completely cleaned the areas he worked in and we are completely satisfied.

Description of Work: Thought I had already placed this review. Changed out a medicine cabinet and needed wall patched. Art did the job promptly and well as usual. Although he is very busy, he worked this small job in and I was very appreciative. I will always call him first for my sheetwork work.

Description of Work: Art did some drywall patching in the bathroom around the bath tub where caulk failed to keep water away from the walls. He also did some patchwork in the garage where at one time there was a leak. Excellent job and very quick finishing. We will definately use him again. Already making plans. Thanks

I am glad I made that call.
Description of Work: I contacted Mr.Martinez after removing wallpaper from my breakfast room & really botching up the wall. He gave me an affordable price & set up a day to begin the project. On the day he scheduled to do the job he arrived on time, did a great job on the wall & cleaned up the mess prior to leaving. The wall required repair & resurfacing to look like the rest of the house. I am so glad I called him. I was a little skeptical at first not knowing anything about his relatively small company. But, after viewing some of his before & after pictures that he had placed on the internet his work looked like art. .

Art was extremely professional, helpful and friendly. He gave me a great estimate, followed up with me over the phone, even after I missed one of his messages, and did an outstanding job quickly and professionally and at a great price. He even took the time to paint over a second small area that had previously been painted with semi-gloss instead of flat by another painter. I will recommend him to all of my friends and will look foward to working with him again for all my drywall repair needs. Great experience from start to finish.

Everything went just as Art said it would. He was willing to do extra work for us when we requested it. He will be coming back to complete sheetrocking an area that we have to wait to do until our kitchen cabinets are being delivered.
Description of Work: Art came and gave me a very reasonable estimate for removing the furdown in my kitchen and resheetrocking the walls and ceiling. He taped and floated the walls and ceiling and then retextured both the kitchen and a bathroom where I had removed wall paper. His work was flawless. The original estimate was more than he had given, but it was because I asked him to do extra work. After doing all the texturing, he painted all walls and the ceiling in the kitchen and bathroom. He cleaned up every day and was very prompt when he gave a time that he would show up. Rarely have I had the opportunity to work with such a competent craftsman.

I tore down tile wainscotting around the bathroom and tore out some brittle drywall above it as well. I decided to hire a pro to get a good seamless result. I chose Art based on Angie's list reviews, which were all spot on. He showed up on time and finished the work in 2 days. He was very careful to keep everything clean when spraying texture. I can't tell where the old drywall ends and new drywall begins. Would DEFINITELY hire him again for any drywall work/repairs/etc.

He did a really good job. It was a positive experience. He did what he said he would do and showed up when he said he would. I chose him after looking at his track record with Angie s List.
Description of Work: We had a hole in the ceiling. Someone had gone through the ceiling. He came out and patched it and replaced the sheetrock. He also textured it and painted it.

I've been having a string of problems lately from non-responsive handymen during the holiday season and Art was the first to actually pick up the phone, talk to me, setup an appointment, and show up -- all within the span of a couple of hours. It was like a breath of fresh air. We walked through my apartment and talked about what the work would entail. I was mostly seeking his help on the large cracks and repairing the terrible patch jobs from previous "handymen" (happened before my ownership). Art gave me the impression that he had a high sense of standard and freely gave advice as we walked through the apartment and observed the issues. Unfortunately, he never got back to me with an estimate. I can understand why since this was a day or two before Christmas and I never pestered him for the information. But with his advice (and my small budget and limited time frame to work with) I finally felt more comfortable with the idea of tackling the repair work myself. Starting from the minor hairline cracks and working myself up to the much larger damages, I was able to sufficiently pull it off and make it look presentable for re-renting in a few days. Should I ever need any major drywall work done, I will be sure to call Art first. Otherwise, I'm proud to have added another bit of DIY knowledge to my tool belt.
Description of Work: I had a 986 sq. ft apartment with a number of drywall cracks (big and hairline) and previously unprofessional patch jobs. I've been remodeling the apartment myself to rent out, but was having never worked on drywall repair, I thought to have a professional out to look at the work and give me an estimate.

I emailed Art early in the week after seeing his profile and others' Angie's List reports. I saw the quality of the reports, that the work was similar to what we needed, that he lived close to us and that he had previously done work for another customer in the evenings and/or weekends. We wanted the worst placed repaired before guests come for Thanksgiving (at that point about 2 1/2 weeks away) so I emailed him our needs and priorities and asked if he was available & interested. He emailed back 24 hrs later saying he had a job during the day that would keep him busy for awhile but if we were OK with him doing the work in the evenings & weekend he would be glad to come by to provide an estimate after 6:00 p.m. We set a time, the next evening at 6:30 p.m. He was on time, gave us his card, and came in and listened attentively as we showed him the problem areas and discussed our priorities. He said he'd send us an estimate in a day. He did. It seemed a bit high but I didn't really know and we liked him and felt confident he would do a good job so we agreed. By then it was Thursday night; he said he could start Saturday afternoon if we agreed. He showed up at did the lion's share of the work on all areas before dinner time, then returned Sunday afternoon at our agreement and finished the work. It is VERY impressive; you can't tell where the work was done and it's so well done. Our son's bedroom was missing a doorstop; he replaced it with no fanfare. Also, there was an additional small hole in one bedroom wall which was discovered when we moved a bookcase to make enough room for him to work; I asked and he agreed to repair that as well, again, with no fanfare. Art is very pleasant and comfortable to have around. He talked little unless we engaged him in conversation; just quietly went about his work while our family moved around him. We also have two dogs which he didn't seem to mind even though one wanted to be in his face a lot (we moved her to another area of the house most of the time on our own). He carefully protected our furniture, etc. with plastic sheeting and masking tape, asked when needed if we could move something (like bulletin board, bookcase) and cleaned up after himself. He put all the debris from the job neatly in a trash bag and set it next to our trash can out front where it was easy to move to the curb on trash day. We are extremely pleased with his work and will definitely call him again and would recommend him to anyone for this type of work. To top it off, when he was done he gave my husband a lower figure than he had quoted, explaining that he had calculated based on what he remembered from the cracks in the walls which were more than were actually present. So instead of $355 as quoted, he charged us $277, including an extra hole and a door stop.
Description of Work: We had two places on our bedroom walls where someone had punched them in, and a place in the corner of the kitchen where our dog had gouged out the drywall (when he didn't like being pinned in the kitchen), some cracks in the wall of the living room, and also a place over the kitchen door where the old door had scraped and gouged the ceiling after our house was leveled. Art repaired all these spots with such skill that I can't even tell where his work starts and the old untouched wall or ceiling begins. He even textured the spots so they blended with what was already there, and the texture was odd (previous owner fancied himself a handyman and did a lot of unconventional repairs/remodeling/modifications). Art used a variety of products, whatever was needed for the task. The corner was particularly tricky because there was a metal strip that he had to cut and remove and fix.

I took out the garden tub and the old toilet and vanity in my bathroom in my manufactured home. When the mirrors were removed, it left tears in the wall paper and spaces between the pieces of sheet rock, which needed to be repaired. So I tried to do it myself, wasting a great deal of time. I finally decided I had to have professional help, so joined Angie's list and began the search. I found this recommendation and sent an e-mail which he responded to very quickly. We had a bit of a difficult time getting together, but when he came out to give an estimate, and I called him back later, he was able to begin the work the following Monday after my work hours, which worked out perfectly for me at the time. He came every evening for five evenings, brought his own tarp, and placed it over the one I already had down in there, and did an excellent job with the whole project.
Description of Work: I initially had a small problem obtaining an estimate due to his other job responsibilities, but it was worth the wait. Art did an excellent job of repairing what I had tried to do myself taping and floating my bathroom. He removed all of my work and the wall paper, re-taped and floated, and then, textured the walls. He did an outstanding job, and came every evening for five days, even on an evening when I had to return late from work, in order to complete the job. He was even able to tolerate my two dogs who barked at him every time he came in or out of my house. I would not hesitate to use him again for other jobs or to recommend him to others, just so it doesn't interfere with me using him again.

Mr. Martinez did an excellent job of repairing, texturing, and painting several large cracks in our ceiling and bathroom walls. He also painted two bathrooms, and installed and caulked base molding in the master bedroom. He did a great job of matching the paint on our ceilings. You could not tell that there were any cracks to begin with when he was done, it was seamless. He is a one man operation, so the job may take longer than a crew would take, but the quality of work and cost was well worth it.

Excellent! Mr. Martinez came the same day I called to give me an estimate and returned later that afternoon to do the repair work. The job was extremely professional and high quality. Even before the wall was painted, you could not see where the holes were located.
Description of Work: Patched several holes in my walls ranging from a couple of inches wide to 18 inches wide.
