I had a great experience with SA Flooring Creations. I hired them to replace the floors in one of my homes and they did a fantastic job. They showed up on time and were very professional. They explained all my options and listened to my goals. The work was done very well and if there were any bumps along the way the communication was great. About a month after the project I had 1 small issue and they came out and addressed the issue very promptly and didn't charge me. I will definitely be hiring them again for my next project!

I had no less than 3 phone conversations with Jerry before hiring him for the job. Jerry gained my confidence sounding like a straight shooter on the phone, explaining how the job could be accomplished and problems he could run into and how they could be addressed. The job required the replacement of fragmented shower tiles, and "sistering" backboard in place to replace any removed. The tile work was required based on previous faucet repairs behind the tile. Faucet repairs were performed by a plumber. Jerry visited the property, was let in by the tenant, examined the job and followed up with a phone call providing an estimate. I agreed to move forward. A very basic one sentence contract was provided. I didn't fuss about the lack of hard-hitting detail because I knew what he and I had discussed and I was comfortable with him. The price was high, but I didn't argue, just wanting to get the job complete with minimal "in and out" traffic while trying to get estimates for the tenant. In the end, the job was completed. My disappointment is based on the fact that I paid top dollar for the job, yet, the finish is not that great. Where no less than 1 1/2 boxes of spare tiles were available for the repair, only two tiles were replaced and two of the surrounding tiles were left with very evident chips visible. Had I paid handy-man prices, I would expect this. With the top dollar price I paid, and based on our phone conversation, I would not expect this level of work to be left as a finished product. The chipped tiles should have been removed and replaced. When I called to complain, Jerry stated he was sure the work he performed was at a competitive price and that I wouldn't have selected him otherwise. From that point...my additional calls were not returned and messages were never addressed. In the end...I paid over $650.00 to have two 1 feet square shower tiles replaced. Based on our phone calls, I expected the job would likely involve replacing a significantly larger section of tiles. In having chipped tiles left to surround the two replaced...no, this was not a good value. This was someone taking advantage. My fault for trying to conduct business over the phone and having 3rd parties involved in the eval and payment. My fault for not demanding a very pointed contract be written. Handling this entire thing while out of state.... I can't do anything about that. My advice...Watch the contract presented to you as verbals mean little. In the end, pride in work, and a fair days work for a fair days pay did not win out. I presented a situation for "easy pickings" and I was taken advantage of. Shame on me. Yup... I played the fool.
