Forrest and his folks did a great job. They did everything I asked and more. In fact I think they would have done pretty much any handy work just to make me a happy customer if I had asked. My A/C is already running way less. I'm sure I will use Rhino again.
Description of Work: Installed blown insulation, radiant barrier, two bathroom exhaust fans, sealed all windows and doors, repaired air ducts and installed an airduct into a new room.

When I called to redeem the deal, they were very polite and professional (I believe that the gentleman's name was Dirk or something like that). He made an appt to come the following week and showed up just as promised. But it turned out that he was there to do an assessment as opposed to actually doing the work. Maybe he told me that and I just misunderstood. But had I known that I would have to arrange to have someone home on 2 different days rather than just one, I might have made a different buying decision. He was very pleasant but left me thinking that we could do this in one go if they would accept a pic from my iphone or ask me to count windows doors etc. But I wanted this work done so set the appt. When appt time came, it was not the young man who originally scoped the work. It was 2 kids who were polite but looked very inexperienced. One of the kids was all tattooed up (if I would turn someone away from my business because of their packaging, I also don't want them in my home). But bottom line is that the work itself was very mediocre. After they did their thing and left, I could still see light around corners of 2 doors. So I went to Lowes and got weatherstripping and patched up their work. I have no idea what, if anything, they did on any windows. And there is not a practical way to check on work quality. Ideally, one would have a "air leakage" before and after reading to see if a material difference has been achieved. But there are not data points like that. But based on what I can SEE with the doors, I'm going to guess that what I can't see with the windows would likely be worse. I made a mistake in not following them around - but I pay above average prices in order to deal with companies who do quality work without me having to follow them around. This was a bit of a disappointment.

The reason that we pre-inspect homes prior to performing the leak seal is so that we may assess the condition of the existing doors and windows, and note what materials are needed. As for the young man which was "tatted up", this is my son, Ryan, who is a very hard worker and has been commended on his work by other customers. It is unfortunate that some people may still judge a person by their appearance. As for the work, the leak seals which we perform on doors are subject to the condition of the door unit itself. These exterior doors were in bad condition and I believe that were done to the best of our ability. We strive for excellence and good customer service so I am sorry that this customer felt we did not provide that for him. Dirk

I am very happy with the service and the product, so are my tenants.
Description of Work: I had insulation blown into the attics of two different rent houses by Rhino Energy Solutions. They gave me a fabulous deal. The were prompt, and professional. The insulation made an immediate difference in the comfort level of the houses, and the need for A/C. I will use them for my next insulation job, and recommend them highly.

See above and add cut and paste! Amess was left in the street infront of my house and on the driveway.
Description of Work: Used the AngiesList deal for a solar powered Attic exhaust fan and installation. Ended up getting $1220.00 of radiant barrier and $1170.00 of insulation and $200 labor for placing my plywood in attic for decking, supposed to have placed a light in attic but they couldn't figure out the wiring so put stick light that requires batteries (how I'm going to get up there to change I have no idea) and add my foam insulation to water pipes. I understood that these 3 things would be done gratis because they were going to be up there anyway and I was providing all but light. Invoice showed I paid $200 for partial decking and very little pipe insulation placement. They couldn't finish job they 1st trip but didn't return to complete until week and one half later after I called to remind Forrest (owner) that I still had no light and job was still incomplete. I physically couldn't go up in the attic to verify that job was done as promised and later asked a neighbor to go up and see what was done since I had 2 sheets of plywood not used. Neighbor said no decking put over half of the house and only a short section of insulation on the pipe, even though I had purchased 8 sections of pipe, sufficient to go from water heater to back bathroom across the attic. I was disappointed in the charge and promise to do the decking, light and pipe portion even though not done as promised.

Our office is contacting Member to see if we can come and rectify this. We always strive to do everything we can to do an outstanding job, and if there are issues , correct them. I do know the wiring on this home was not normal and we did not want to hook a light into it. We did not show any decking being installed on the estimate, but if it was told to her it would be installed, we will be happy to do it. We are offering to have an electrician come out and correct wiring and install a light if she would like.

Very professional, prompt and did a good job.
Description of Work: The company arrived promptly, and had a team (4-5 people) go around the house and seal all the doors and windows. The front & back doors had noticable gaps where air & light could come through. The team replaced the rubber gasket around the doors and adjusted the face plate on the lock to improve the fit of the door.

We had to work around the weather. (LOL - since it hardly rains in San Antonio) The caulking being used required a curing time of 48 to 72 hours without moisture. The company was very good about keeping me informed and worked with me on a schedule that worked for both of us. Manuel was the guy doing the work, he was polite, efficient and did a great job. Noticed a difference in the house within a few days. Able to keep the thermostat set at a higher temp with better cooling then before. Happy with the results. Should pay for itself within 12 - 18 months!! Good investment.
Description of Work: Angie's list special for sealing (caulking) doors and windows on a two story house. Polite, professional and prompt. No additional charge for two stories. Used clear silicone caulking that is not even noticeable. Very clean caulking job. If I had not seen the work being done I would have thought that he did not do the work.

As usually the special deal was a gimmick to get them to into the house to sell you more option. We are happy with the additional options (additional attic insulation to cover the entire house and two fans in the attic.) and the second attic fan has been running often enough to convince us we needed it. The supervisor and crew were really nice and efficient. We were waitingon having bathroom exhaust fans put in the Rhino crew assured us they would tack up vent tubes through the insuation to enable the venting installation. Our vent installers did not approve of the vent tubes Rhino left or the length of them. Our power bill has been low this summer.

The staff at Rhino Energy were all polite and professional. From the first initial phone call to a follow-up visit. They worked with my schedule, were neat and efficient. I cannot say anything negative about the staff. I was disappointed in the product itself. The garage panels are great! Cooling the garage at least ten degrees, I would suggest this to everyone. Cannot say the same about the radiant barrier. I had previously had a radiant barrier applied to a previous home and the results were immediate. The next day the house was ten degrees cooler and the utility bill cut in half from previous years. I was expecting the same here however the results were different. No changes in ulility usage and air conditioner kicking on constantly. I contacted both the manufacturer of the radiant barrier and Rhino, expressing my concerns, thinking possibly I needed an additional unit applied. Both responded to me immediately. Rhino came out, did readings to confirm heat barrier working. Readings showed 115 degrees on exterior roof, 102 degrees interior attic roof and home interior walls 76-86. I saw the numbers showing product was working, but I anticipated the interior being cooler, causing air conditioner to kick on less and then extending life of unit with lower utilities. Not the case. My 16 year old unit kicks on and runs constantly. While maintaining my thermostat at 76-78 degrees daily, my utility bill has doubled in one month and we are not yet in the heat of summer. I did not not do enough research. To reap the benefits of the product you have to have an energy efficient air condtioning unit 10 years old or newer. I had hoped to postpone the purchase of a new unit for 2 or more years with the radiant barrier but not the case. Even with the attic fan, insulation and radiant barrier, we have had no changes in our home. We are now shopping around for new AC

Forest was on time to give the estimate .He was professional and provided an estimate cheaper than a previous estimate we got from another company. He setup a date of May 7, 2012 to do the work. Forest and the team were at our house on time, added insulation in all areas, resealed all windows and doors, added an attic fan and fixed leaks in our a/c air ducts. Forest brought all paper work, prepared the forms to submit for our energy rebate. The cost was $2637.00. We then received a $688. energy rebate from CPSB. We highly recommend Rhino Energy Solutions for their timely work, cost and professionalism.
Description of Work: We initially requested additional attic insulation to our 2750 sq. ft. one-story house plus new insulation over our garage which our builder did not provide at the time our house was built in 1994. Forest conducted an inspection April 27, 2012 of our attic for insulation coverage plus additional solutions such as door and window resealing and an attic fan.

Rhino did a GREAT job. Very professional in every stage of the process. Forrest did not hesitate in giving me my senior and Angie's list discounts. Next - on the day of the installation he came prepared with the CPS rebate forms filled out and marked for me to sign. Made this step very easy for me. His workers were very polite and cleaned up when the job was finished. If you're considering upgrading your attic insulation I highly recommend Rhino Energy Solutions.
Description of Work: Rhino was to first clean up old insulation then blow in new insulation in the attic and finally ensure all walls were properly insulated. As well as doing the insulation Rhino was to inspect all ducting and repair any leaks found.

Very professional, my wife was home. Forrest explained what he found and what he recommended to restore our insulation to energy savings mode. On 7/4/2012 Forrest and his team returned installed two attic fans, removed the improperly installed radiant barrier (another contractor screwed us over...before we signed up with Angie's List), and added replacement insulation. Forrest and his team were on-time and quickly went to work. This service was extremely professional, the crew cleaned up after the work was complete, the total team was polite and took time to explain what and why they were doing to improve our energy savings. Forrest even helped us with the paperwork for our local utility company energy rebate. We highly recommend Rhino Energy Solutions.
Description of Work: Conducted and through inspection of our attic for our insulation coverage. Provided a technical solution to restore the energy savings for our home. The inspection cost $69.00. After the inspection and estimate Forrest setup a date to come back on 7/4/2012 to install two attic fans, remove the improperly installed radiant barrier (another contractor screwed us over...before we signed up with Angie's List), and added replacement insulation. They also fixed some leaks in our HVAC duck system (part of another inspection see that review). The work cost 3428.00 that includes 796.00 utility energy rebate.

Forrest stopped by on the 18th to give us an estimate and returned with his crew on the 21st to blow in the insulation. They covered the entry way carpet and the furniture in the converted garage to keep the area free from fallen insulation. After they were done, they checked the crawl space above the bedroom closet to make sure the entire attic area was covered and vacuumed up the insulation that fell when they opened the trap door. We noticed later that day that the items stored in the storage area above the garage are covered in insulation so we have to be careful when removing items from that area. Forrest brought the application for the CPS energy rebate with him so we could submit the paperwork within CPS Energy's 30 day deadline, CPS energy has already applied a rebate of $,25 per square foot to our CPS energy account. Rhino energy also gave us a 5% Angie's list discount, a 10% senior discount and a 4% discount for paying by check (total 19% off) Overall, we are quite pleased with the work performed and the professionalism of Forrest and his crew and will recommend their services to our friends and neighbors.

The team was punctual and courteous and performed the installation in a very short period of time. They left the old turbine from the install and some shingles in my yard which was a little annoying, but I didn't tell them to take it away so it may not be part of what they're supposed to do. They also tracked a little tar in two spots on my floor, but it was hardwood so it was easy to clean up. The rebate paperwork seemed to take a while as a result of a personnel change in the office, but I did get it eventually. I would use them again.

Forrest and his crew were fantastic. I found them by the coupon they ran on Angie's list. I contacted them and we set up an appointment for an estimate at my convience. He was on time for the appointment and fast at figuring out what to do. We scheduled the repairs for the next week and they were here when they said they would be and done when they said they would be. These guys came prepared and cleaned up after themselves so that you hardly knew they were here. I really liked how Forrest, the owner, was on the site the whole time making everything was being done correctly. I appreciate that they book one job a day so that they don't feel rushed to finish this one to get to the next. Over all it was a grea experience and I would recommend them to anyone!! Thanks!!
Description of Work: They installed an electric fan in one attic and a passive vent in another and then insulation in all 3 attic spaces. He then rerouted air flow from the main unit to our master bedroom to help get more air in there.

My first problem with working with this company was that when the work was done, the technician left without any notice. I went outside to check on the work and he was gone. The supervisor had told me they would do a few things which weren't done, and the caulking on the windows was supposed to be clear but it was white so now you can see the caulking really well against my brown house. I called the company and complained, they said they would get back with me. They didn't call back for a few days so I called again and spoke with someone who said they would send someone out. The person who did the work came out and verified that they had used the wrong caulk and they would have to either paint over it or redo it. He said he would have to check with the owner about what to do about the doors and they would get back to me. Nobody got back to me. On 4/18 I called them again and they said someone would follow up, still nothing. This problem is now being resolved and I now plan to use them for a larger project.
