Response from RHINO ENERGY SOLUTIONS LLC
When we first arrived at this property it was evident that this house had severe foundation settlement. We found that the majority of the exterior doors had large separation cracks between the door and jamb. We also found large gaps between the bottom of the door and the threshold. We pointed this out to the homeowner at the time and let him know that the leak seal service addressed the weatherstripping replacement only, and not modifications needed to the door units as a result of foundation settlement. The homeowner asked us to do the best we could which we did over a period of two 1/2 hours. We went above and beyond replacing weatherstripping, adjusting keepers, using felt to fill in separation gaps, and even installing door sweeps which was not included in our service. The homeowner was very happy with the results when we did our final walkthrough. I do not know why the homeowner is now giving a bad review five months after the leak seal was performed unless the separation gaps have re-appeared. Otherwise, the homeowner had our contact information all of this time. We have not heard anything from this homeowner since that time. I tried to contact the homeowner to discuss but have received no answer or call back. I believe the house has ongoing foundation settlement issues and that the doors have moved again presenting new gaps around the doors and thresholds. The leak seal service is a preventive measure only, not a remodel or renovation service to repair pre-existing constructive issues for doors/windows. This is stated clearly in the $199 Leak Seal Big Deal offer which was listed at the time and explained by myself to the homeowner at the time work was done.
