First appointment postponed by company twice. First visit workers casually inspected system, marked/flagged only 7 heads, left gates open so dog could get out, took hand held sprinkler head from my hose with them. No call from Newsome to schedule work even though workers left some heads flagged. I called to question and appointment scheduled for other team to come to home to eval syste, . Eval completed by Todd and Carlos and $1200 estimate given. I accepted estimate and work was scheduled for several weeks later. Work completed. Included added heads, redirecting existing, a complete and thorough job, I was told. Invoice was received 9 weeks after work completed. Left on vacation. Set system to auto sorinkle as recommended. Returned to find side yard, part of front, rear flower beds dead from lack of water. Emailed photos, sent message and called company. No response until I resent message and called again. Appointment set and same team of workers came to check system. According to them, readusted some heads, changed others, and left saying all as should be. 10 weeks later I received an invoice for $106. Prior to receiving invoice, had occasion to set system manually on eve and awoke following day with one zone having run all nite. Could not shut off at box. Had to shut down at main. Called Newsome and they couldn't/didnt come for over two weeks. A different young man, Thomas, arrived and immediatelt started questioning me that I even knew what Zone I was talking about, was arrogant, not interested in listening to my concerns. He walked to the main and said it needed replacing at $300-500. I told him to follow me to area where heads/water would not shut off, he wasnt very interested and wouldnt stop talking or listen and ultimately said they'd just have to start digging up the grass/area in Zone and "see what they found", see if they could find the valves associated (at which point I pointed out he was standing on one of the valves). Nevertheless he had no estimate of work or cost involved but just kept talking arrogantly/not listening and repeating they would "see what happens" re cost. I told him to leave. I called Newsome and talked to Erica. I was furious with Thomas' attitude and demeanor. I was furious that I had originally asked Newsome to thoroughly check my system, replace all that needed replaced and complete repairs. I did not expect after having paid $1200 with assurance my request was completed to have ongoing problems. If my system was aging I originally asked it be updated. I did not ask that age, or activity, or use, or timing, or anything else be used as an excuse for more future work. Now I get the added bill for $106. Now the new heads in Zone 3 (backyard) are leaking/sitting in a marsh of water soaked ground. A 3' strip of lawn between my front lawn and the neighbors has grown 5" higher than any other part of lawn . My side yard is weed grass or fire ant mounds. And now I find one (brand new added) head at back of yard apparently "blew" as the entire piece was found upside down surrounded by at least a 6" hole where it used to sit and the pvc fitting was blown 4' to the fence line. My sprinkler system wasnt malfunctioning before I engaged Newsome originally. I simply wanted to assure it was performing effectively and efficiently. Well, $1500 later it certainly is not. I must hire someone else to repair what needs repaired now!!!

We have experienced issues with Newsome in the past. It took over two months to get on the schedule for installation, postponed at the last minute with excuse after excuse after lame excuse. The owner supported the receptionist in her use of excuses instead of apologizing for it! Over the weekend, we realized that our system is down. I called today to get on their schedule, but it's next to impossible. The receptionist said I'd get a call back within the hour. Nothing. When I called back two hours later, what did I get but an excuse as to why she hasn't called back. I asked to be transferred to the scheduler, but was told she's busy returning phone calls. Called again, same thing. Wow, they must have a heck of a lot of phone calls, because it's now SIX hours later and I've yet to hear back. As I said, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!
Description of Work: This provider has the world's worst customer service! To answer the question of what they did: not return calls to get us scheduled for maintenance.

They were very professional and did a great job.
Description of Work: Replaced part of irrigation. Replaced some heads and dug up and replaced piping that had busted.

Although this company was recommended to us, we had great difficulty in scheduling appointments for work to be done. The company would make the work crew available for only one day at a time , even though this was a 7 or 8 day project. We started with them back in May , and the struggle continued for 5 months...After each day of work, there would be no communication from the company... No update as to progress or as to when they might return, even though there were holes and bare wires all over the yard. We would have to call back and set another appointment, typically a MONTH later each time, just to get them to continue the work. The friendly receptionist would call about our bill, but we could never get info regarding the status of the job itself...Three separate times we thought they were done, only to find the work incomplete. They never did finish, we just gave up and are using another company to finish the work. In the end, I am mostly embarrassed that I kept Newsome on the job as long as I did...

Newsome worked with me and got me the same controller as on my mother's home which I already knew how to work. They also showed me how to do deep watering every 2 weeks rather than every week. Better for St. Augustine grass. So I can water my garden once a week and the grass every other week. I did not know it could do that. Everything has been working without any problems, save for my puppy who uncapped some of the valves and ripped out the wiring. Newsome put screws into the caps to hold them down. While I thought their bid was high in comparison to my friend whose lawn they did several months before, I found my yard to be precisely larger by percentage than my friend's yard. All in all, very happy with Newsome.
Description of Work: I got 3 estimates. Newsome was not the cheapest, but seemed most reliable, which I have found them to be to install a complete irrigation system, front and back, with drip irrigation in beds.

The workers did what was requested, but I wasn't particularly impressed with their demeanor. What was really aggravating, though, was when one of the sprinkler heads malfunctioned 32 days later, the firm charged my wife another $44 to fix it. She asked whether that wasn't under some sort of warranty, and they said no. I sure wish I had been home at the time. Substandard.
Description of Work: Newsome was referred to me by a neighbor for maintenance on my outdoor sprinkler system, including capping some heads, moving others, and testing the whole system.
