+ -1 moreThe bidding process was straightforward, $1/sf for R30 value and could do the job next morning, on a Saturday. They showed up on time, inspected the area and got to work. The job took about one and a half hours. They showed me the work, cleaned up and were on their way without fuss. I wish all of our contractors had been this efficient and effective.

+ -1 moreEverything went well. They even had someone come back out to make sure work was done right & to check the air ducts. He explained everything very well. I even got an energy rebate from my electrical and gas company for having the work done. I was very pleased with the work!

+ -1 moreMurphy's staff did a complete change out of our A/C system and installed a Rheem 14 seer, 3 1/2 ton system. They repaired all duct work in the attic and adjusted the digital thermostat to the new system. Great job. They changed out the hot water heater with a new Rheem 40 gallon water heater with upgraded specs. They constructed a 24" wide sub-floor walk-way down the center of our attic to enable maintenance to be done on our utilities wiring, duct work and water lines. They installed 5 light fixtures with light switch and electrical plug. They installed 2 thermostatically controlled exhaust fans in the attic to dissipate heat. They installed insulation throughout the attic. They also installed 3 outdoor light fixtures and repaired a 4th. All work was done on time within a two-day period. Would I use them again? You bet I would. The crew worked well together. They cleaned up the work site and hauled away the debris and used components from our residence. The price they quoted to begin the project was what we agreed on and paid. I would most definitely recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Installed complete A/C change-out; installed new water heater, constructed sub-floor in attic; installed exhaust fans in attic (2); installed lighting in attic (5 fixtures); insulated attic; and installed outdoor lighting (4 fixtures).

+ -1 moreI called to get an estimate to insulate my house and I have never talked to a more unprofessional salesman in my life. I was talked down to as if I did not know what I was talking about and in a very condescending tone. I am so glad to have dealt with this on the front end rather than when they are in my home or after the job was complete in the event I had some issue with the installation. This is not a company I would do business with and it's certainly not a way to earn someone's business.

Description of Work: Extraordinary Service and Honesty :) Called the company after receiving referrals by CPS. I checked them out with BBB too. CPS gave me 3 referrals for attic installation . I called this company and scheduled it for the next day. The crew are very nice and professional and installed the required R factor the CPS rebate department said I needed. I joined the SA CPS energy saver program . By doing this after the paper work was completed the day of the installation I filled out my part and mailed it in to CPS. Within 4 weeks if not quicker I had a credit of almost $500 on my CPS bill. I was given a few companies that do this type of work.,however, Mr. Murphy company is triple AA 's on the Better Business Bureau and highly recommended through this program. Check them out folks. This company 's work was inspected by a company the CPS company uses to analyze energy saving factors in the home . They inspect and review everything in/out side of my home and the associate found the work to be excellent and the materials to be of highest quality. Honest owner and crew that really made sure you understood the process and did superior work. Next they installed insulation in my rent house and that went like clock work too. Definitely would use them again!

+ -1 moreThe original inspection was by Patrick Murphy. He came late, but called to advise he was delayed at an earlier inspection. He looked at the attics and gave us the estimate of $1,280. We called back a couple of days later to accept his estimate and schedule the job. The two-man crew arrived on time and performed the job as expected. When I paid the bill I noticed there was not a breakdown between labor and materials. The IRS will give a tax credit for insulation, but only for the cost of materials, not labor. I called Patrick Murphy two times to request a corrected receipt but he never sent one. Therefore, I cannot recommend this company.
Description of Work: Blew in Owens Corning insulation to the R38 value in the attic of the main house and the back cottage, a total of 2466 square feet of coverage.
