G.L. Hunt Foundation Repair

Great experience. Even though we did not have any work done, we would recommend GL Hunt LLC to everyone.

My disappointment was that GL Hunt never made a second attempt to pursue the business from us. Months later we received a mialing from them offering a certain percentage off....but that was it! A phone call to discuss the estimate again or other options would have swayed us to do business with them.

Daniel, GL Hunt representative, came to meet with us at our house. He was punctual, professional and very polite and did not try to sell us anything. He had the heart of a teacher! He took his time to take accurate measurements and answered all of our questions. We interviewed another company who rushed, came up with the same number of piers, but not as professional. Daniel answered all of our questions and followed up with us. The foreman for the repair, and his team, arrived on time and provided quality service. They did an excellent job answering all our questions throughout the process and left our yard clean. We would defiitely recommend them to anyone needing foundation repair.

had two other repair jobs and they were awful. one is still in business as of last year. affordable foundation which is not advertised in yellow pages anymore. probably has another name by now. tried to nickle and dime us every time we called them pit. terrible experience.

It went fine, except I got the same information and service for free (as an estimate) from another company. I thought the interview and inspection would be more detailed for the price.

I would not recommend them at all, and I am looking for another company

They were wonderful workers. They worked very hard. They put everything back the way it was there was no evidence of them even being here.

Daniel arrived promptly and performed the inspection, providing a verbal report. There was no pressure, only a frank discussion of the superficial cracks we see. Thankfully, there is no need for repair and we feel very confident with his assessment. We would definitely use GL Hunt if we have such a need in the future.

Daniel had me show him the cracks that had caused me concern and took measurements at all levels of my home. He concluded that at this time, there was no significant foundation problem. It's just basic settling, and I can repair the cracks without worrying that they are signs of problems to come. I really appreciate his professionalism and honesty.

The initial consultation was handled very professionally. We were provided with a clear understanding of the job to be completed, projected time frame to start the work, and costs. The company was actually able to start the job earlier then projected. The work crew arrived on time, with the foreman introducing himself and explaining what would be done and when he expected the job to be completed. The crew worked very hard and finished the job within the estimated timeframe. Upon completion the work crew cleaned up the yard very well and for the most part returned everything, including plants to their original location. We have engaged the company to repair the foundation on another home we own.

I felt the estimate was extreme. It cost $10,000 to do foundation repair on my parents house which is much larger and they had to dig under the house. The house we got an estimate on was on piers, would require no digging, and is tiny. We finally got the work done by a company not listed on Angie's list for $1,500. So far the work done at a lower price has turned out well.

Arrived on time, did a complete foundation inspection, gave us an oral report, as well as a book on foundation care, and we got a follow-up letter with a summary.

They were pretty good, and I thought their price was pretty reasonable. They worked with me. They were pretty good about being responsive in the beginning, but I have had a little trouble with getting a hold of them in the past couple of weeks. I have been trying to get a final leveling estimate of the house from them because I have to go to another engineer for it.

Mr. Roden was punctual, articulate, thorough, and very service-oriented. After the visit, he called to ask if we had any any additional questions. Given the proposed cost of the remediation, we are considering all of our alternatives

Daniel was able to come earlier than the scheduled appointment and that worked very well with my schedule. He checked the foundation levels in and outside the house. He sat down and explained his findings. There was some settling, but nothing needed to done at this time. He did a great job explaining foundation care and answering my questions. I am glad I had the assessment and I would happily recommend GL Hunt to friends that have foundation concerns.

We just moved to Texas from Iowa several months ago and had heard about foundation issues here. We noticed some cracks in our sheetrock, and some doors were sticking during the summer also. I bought the Big Deal for the foundation inspection and was able to set an appointment very soon after my call. Daniel Roden came out and was very punctual and professional. He took his measurements inside and out, and I showed him areas that I was concerned about. Daniel then sat down and drew up a floorplan of my house and the readings that were taken within the house. He then explained to me what all the readings meant, and reassured me that I did not have any serious foundation issues at this time. He recommended proper soil moisture to maintain the foundation. He said our drip hoses were positioned correctly and recommended the correct duration of watering. He also left me some pointers and tips in a brochure. Daniel also said he would like to re-evaluate the readings in June to compare the readings and get a more indepth picture of how the foundation is reacting to soil conditions and drought. He said there would be no charge for that re-evaluation. Daniel was very professional and I felt he was very knowledgeable. He explained everything very well and was attentive to the concerns I had. I appreciated his honesty and politeness. I would certainly recommend Daniel and his company for foundation evaluation.

Mr. Roden was thorough and comprehensive in his evaluation and provided a copy of the readings report and a written report of his visit which I requested. In addition, he gave me a detailed booklet that explained foundation maintenance and repair. His professional manner and his thoroughness greatly relieved my concern about two areas of my foundation and drainage. I would highly recommend G.L. Hunt to anyone and everyone!

The technician who came to my home, Daniel Roden, was very professional, arrived on time and even called just a few minutes prior to his arrival to let me know he was on the way. Mr. Roden walk with me through the home and around the exterior while i showed him the areas of my concern. He said he would take some readings using the equipment he brought in the with him and would be back with me to discuss the findings. I braced myself for the worst, ye he presented me a drawing of my home, with readings throughout and assured me my foundation was sound and I needed no repairs. I'm sorry, can you repeat that please? No work is needed or recommended. Sigh of relief. :) He said what I was seeing was common due to the soil expansion and contraction due to a high clay content and the uneven soil moisture level which is common in the area. He left me a booklet detailing the actions I should take to help alleviate it of soaker hoses around the perimeter of the home. Additionally he left me a copy of his drawing and suggested, I suspect just to make me feel better, I call them back in a year or so and they would take additional readings and compare if there were any changes. He expected none and assured me, I shouldn't be worried. I was shocked, that after spending so much time with me, looking at everything and leaving a very professional booklet, he would charge me nothing. I was very impressed and will call them again, if I ever have a concern. Many years ago, in another home I owned, I had a foundation concern and the other company was not nearly as professional and based on this experience, likely charged me for work, which was uneeded. I highly recommend GL Hunt.
