Excellent---told me what was wrong and what choices I had.

They were friendly and apologized that it would take a week to complete the work. That wasn't a problem for me. I didn't get a second estimate so I can't say if their price is high or not. The vacuum works like new now and I'm very happy with the work done. I only wish I had brought it in sooner.

They were very helpful and were able to get my Kirby working like new again.  It had been about 5 years since I had the machine serviced so they had their work cut out for them!  They did a great job and got it back to me in just a few days.  Very nice guys.  I will definitely use them again when I need to have my Kirby serviced...hopefully I won't wait another 5 years.

My vacuum had stopped picking up the dirt (the roller on the bottom wasn't turning). I checked Angie's List and found Austin Hwy Vacuum. Not only did they work on my vacuum brand (Riccar), it was one of the systems they recommend. I had always had my vacuum serviced annually but had relocated recently. Not only did they service my vacuum and replace the worn belt, they pointed out a bulge in the electrical cord, which I also had replaced.
My vacuum is working perfectly. They were very pleasant, professional and quick. After mentioning that I'd found them through Angie's list, the owner even threw in some vacuum bags.

They were very prompt and courteous.

This is a 20-plus year old unit we kept as a loaner for the kids at college and now is a back-up for when our primary unit is away for 3 to 4 weeks at Sears. But it hadn't been serviced in over 12 years so we figured it was due. It also had a minor issue with the roller not rolling.
Dropped off the unit on Thursday afternoon and it was ready for pick up on Monday. The cost was exactly what they had quoted and the unit works fine. The staff did offer to move me up to a newer unit but when I said 'no thanks', they did not push it.
Will definitely use again.
NOTE: Not their fault but GMAP has their location incorrectly indicated as at one end of the McNay Building. Seidel Rd. is about a mile closer to Harry Wurzbach Rd., and they are in a strip mall facing Earl Abel's restaurant (nice local reference point). Also, the staff indicated they might soon re-locate to another (not disclosed) location.

ThTook my unit in and asked for an call and estimate. I called them back in about 7 days and they told the cleaner was ready. Upon arriving at the store I was told that the problem was a cap that was missing (the cap for allowing the dirty water to be poured out). They replaced the cap at no cost and even refused to take a service tip.
What else can you ask?

The products and service provided by Austin Highway Vacuum Center are top notch and I would highly recommend them for your vacuum purchase and repair needs.
Our Dyson vacuum stopped working so I looked up a local repair shop (Austin Hwy Vacuum Center) and my wife took it in for repair. When I got home I found out I was the proud owner of a new Riccar Vacuum for a mere $800. What!? Even though she told me the sales person was very knowledgeable, gave us trade in credit for the Dyson and even threw in two sets of vacuum bags, I was highly skeptical. However, the Riccar worked like a charm and cleaned much better than the Dyson on its best days.
Then about three weeks later the vacuum stopped working so we took it in for repair. I was ready to launch into my "how can this happen to a brand new $800 vacuum cleaner?" But the staff took our vacuum and immediately went to work investigating the stoppage. In less than 5 minutes the staff person looked up at us and asked if anyone was missing a sock? We were both pretty embarrassed but they laughed it off, put the vacuum back together and loaded it into our car.
The Riccar model we purchased does not fit everyone's budget, but they have other models that may. I've never spent this much for a vacuum cleaner, but in this case I firmly believe we got what we paid for as our house has never been cleaner. If anything should happen in the future (like another sock), the guys at Austin Highway Vacuum Center will have you in and out in no time. Great experience!

Professional, ready when promised, price satisfactory and ran like brand new.

Repaired my old Kenmore vac to as new condition. Shop is clean and very well organized. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The person I dealt was very competent. Diagnosed problem within 5 minutes and gave me an accurate estimate of repair costs. Vac was ready within a few days and works like a charm.
