The whole process went very well. I live across the metroplex from Southern Pride and after I initially called them, I actually called them back to cancel the appointment to get a quote. I wasn't totally sure I would go with them and didn't want to waste their time. However, Kelly called me and talked to me about windows, what Tom could do and the fact that they were more than willing to drive an hour to talk to me, even if I didn't use their company. So, Tom came over and spent 3 hours going over window options and what he would do. He was very easy to talk to, nothing like the sales reps of 2 other companies I had talked to. (I should say that Tom was the 4th quote I got) Tom is the actual installer, not just a sales rep and he answered and explained a lot more than the reps did. I did not get the sales pitch, but a description of the job as it would happen. I liked that a lot. We went with thermally broken aluminum windows after a lot of thought and research. We have several very large windows that I felt would not be good for vinyl. I also wanted bronze, and the aluminum windows were easier to get in that color, won't fade and were not tons more expensive. I LOVE my new windows! I can tell a huge difference in that there is no more draft coming from the windows. They look fantastic (we had builder's grade white AL ones before) and feel very solid! Tom and his crew spent 2 days, over 12 hours each day, installing in freezing weather. I was worried about the extreme temps, but it proved to be no problem. I can't believe I actually love windows, but I do! A few weeks after the window replacement, we asked Tom to replace our front door. It is beautiful!! I love it! He replaced the entire frame too and it feels so much more secure and weather tight. He went over all our color options and design options when we ordered the door. I feel like it's a very nice door and we have had even the neighbors compliment it. One neighbor said she noticed right away driving by! Again, the install job went great and Tom and Chris did a super job! The company is family run, which I love. I enjoyed the phone calls with Kelly, which is unusual for me because everyone else seems to be in a rush (including me). But, I would find myself chatting with her like friends. The first call I really talked to her on was the one where she convinced me to go ahead and have Tom come over for the initial window quote - her actually taking the time to do that - to call and talk with me in an "un-rushed" way convinced me to go ahead with that appointment. I'm so glad she did that and that I agreed! Then, after Tom took so long and talked in a way that was knowledgeable, not just sales, was the cap on the deal. Tom's crew were all great and friendly. They worked hard and I appreciate that. I would use them again, no questions! I wish they did tile, plumbing, remodeling.... :) That would make my adventures in home remodeling a lot better.

After dealing with another Angie's list provider who handed my request off to another local vendor, who ended up losing my business, I returned to Angie's List very skeptical. Southern Pride (Larry and his son) provided me with the peace of mind, all options were explained in detail with multiple questions answered. They provided top quality workmanship and comfort in replacing my back door.

Galley style kitchen with large solarium attached at one end. After five years of dealing with the solarium (more like a giant window - allowing heat in the summer and cold in the winter), I decided to remove it and have sliding doors installed. Kelli at Southern Pride was a joy to work with. I must have rescheduled the install at least 4 times for various reasons and she was always accomodating and encouraging ("We will get this done!"). Tom was on time and did exactly what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it. Job was completed on time. Tom also put up with my constant questions about every little detail of the install - a patient man indeed! The doors are beautiful and the workmanship is top-notch. I highly recommend Southern Pride Openings.

They answered all our questions during the initial consultation. The installation was done to the highest standard and with no faults. We are extremely happy with the service and are looking into installing windows to the rest of the house. We would contact this contractor in the future and recommend their work 100%.

Working with Southern Pride was great. Although not the least expensive of the 3 companies I interviewed, Tom seemed the most knowledgeable when it came to product and installation, and provided answers to my many questions. He did a great job explaining his product (no pressure sales pitch here) and I was confident I had chosen the best of the 3. Tom's wife, Kelly, answers the phone and handles scheduling appoints and such. She is very personable and works hard to get the work scheduled to everyone's satisfaction. 2 1/2 weeks after I contracted their services, Tom and his crew showed up bright and early to begin the installation. It was a cold, windy day but the crew worked quickly and efficiently to get the windows/doors in. I had been told with the two doors it might be a two day job but Tom and his crew stuck it out and finished up the last two windows after dark. The crew did a great job cleaning up, and replacing furniture that had to be moved for the installation. They were very courteous and concerned about protecting all my "stuff." One word of warning, Tom has a ferocious "punny" bone, look out! I love my new vinyl windows. The sashes are very low profile and enhance the look of the house.

We feel so grateful that we found Southern Pride Openings on Angie's List and highly recommend them if you are in need of door installations. This family-owned business definitely made us feel like part of their family. Tom was so nice to work with and provided recommendations and door selections that met our needs and fit within our budget. Thank you! Our original builder did not install our front door properly which made opening the door difficult. However, Tom took on the challenge and completely reframed the opening. We now have a door that is not only beautiful but also functional. Thanks again Tom!

Based on Angie's reviews and an advertised door install price of $250, I had Southern Pride Openings come to my house and give me an an estimate to install a new entry door. I quickly learned that they only install doors provided by them and that they do not paint or finish the doors they install. The major kicker is that they sell a basic Home Depot style 6 panel primed door for about three times the cost - I just had a new door installed for a total price of $393 (door plus installation) and Southern Pride quoted me a total price of $1,150. I am astounded at all the positive reviews Southern Pride gets - most reviewers must not have any idea what a door should cost.

Have an appt for a quote on windows and possibly future entry door replacement. I'm going to repeat this: Tom knows everything about windows...EVERYTHING and seems to enjoy it A LOT! I'll update review after visit or service rendered. Update: 12/22/13 New kitchen window was installed. I'm attaching pictures! Pricing was great $500 for this window, and we purchased the other 2 front windows for our townhouse those were close to $600 each so great prices and great quality work. I'll post pictures of those 2 once they are installed. 1/19/14 Tom came back to install 2 upstairs bedroom windows. Everything is wonderful! I'm super happy with the windows, their hard work....etc. These two have what every company needs: Kelli follows up! Tom shows up as scheduled and gets right to work, AND does a great job. I read another person's review that said he wished they did tile, plumbing, painting...etc I totally agree!!! I compare every other person that comes out to work on our house with Kelli and Tom. And I haven't found one yet that matches up! We have 2 more windows in the back of the townhouse that need to be done, we'll be calling you when we are ready!

I was extremely happy with this company. The service was excellent and the work was top-notch. The new door, frame and threshold are beautiful. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

From start to finish I would say that they are a great family owned business that takes the time to go over things with you giving you a lot of options to choose from. I loved how when they came over to give me a quote I told them I would get back with them once I spoke to my husband. Well soon as he left I spoke with my husband and me thinking he was going to say let me think about it some more he didnt he said baby if trhats what you like then go ahead and get it. So I called back and he turned back aroudn and came and wrote the order up to place it. Forgive me I am so bad with names. But everyone from start to finish was very professional and they did an excellent job. Think it took about 3 weeks for my door to come in once it did they called me and scheduled an appointment for early in the morning to come out and put it in. They cleaned up all there debris when finished hauled off the old door and all. Letting me know when they was doing something showing me what they was doing and if I had any questions they answered them. I will be contacting them back at the beginning of the year to have our front door done for sure.

From start to finish, Southern Pride did not let me down. Experience began with Larry Herold who did a great job of explaining all of my options, without pressuring me - which would have turned me off in a heartbeat. Larry took preliminary measurements, but explained that his son Tom (who is actually the owner) would come by to do very specific measurements. Tom's wife Kelly was great about working out times that were convenient for me and helped keep me informed. Estimated delivery of door was accurate, so no surprises there either. Tom and his assistant Justin arrived only a few minutes later than expected (thanks to I-635/LBJ being a tangled mess) but Tom called to let me know they were indeed on the way - I've experienced many who were much later and never called, so appreciated this. Tom and Justin were meticulous and professional, and kept everything as clean and tidy as possible when installing a new door frame, threshold, and door. I read someone else described them as craftsmen. I have to agree. Do not expect a rush job here - not if you want quality work. These guys spent time ensuring that the frame was solid; every aspect of the frame around the door was treated with as much care as the door itself. In total, I would say it took about 4-1/2-5 hours, but it was worth it! I couldn't be more pleased with my beautiful new door. I can't wait to see how a solidly sealed door keeps out the drafts this winter! I will definitely use Southern Pride for future projects and highly recommend them.

They did an amazing job. He was really honest and and very professional. I would recommend him to anybody and is just a really nice guy.

We contacted Tom a few weeks ago after seeing many positive reviews on Angie's List. He came out to the house and spent a considerable amount of time going through all of our options for a new front door and had many great recommendations. He did not try to hard sell us anything and was very patient with our initial indecisiveness. He helped us come up with the most cost effective and durable option. he was very thorough and knowledgeable. The door took two weeks to be built and another week to be delivered. Tom did excellent work and was very professional and courteous. After looking at several big box stores and then talking with Tom we felt he would do a far better job and was selling a far better quality product then what we were finding elsewhere. On the day of the install Tom arrived around 7:30 a.m. He started work immediately removing the old door which he also hauled away. By 1:30 p.m. Tom had completely installed the new door and cleaned up the mess created during the install. He worked at a steady pace the entire time and was very thorough, making sure everything was perfect. This was the best experience we have had with a contractor before and I will be recommending Tom to my friend's and family.

We chose not to go with them at this time.

Went great, they cleaned up all the debris when they had to cut into the wall to make the opening slightly bigger for the new doors. Installation of the dog door was flawless. When we had a slight issue with the door not catching a few weeks later, they were back within 24 hours to fix it. Very professional, and Tom definitely takes pride in his work.

They were very neat and clean. They were quick with the service but seemed thorough at the same time. They really went above and beyond with the service. They really wanted to take great care of us and they did. I have no complaints with them at all. The gentleman that came out to give the estimate were very professional and they just blew the other companies out of the water, I felt very safe with going with this company. I have already recommended them to someone else as well.

They were great, they are a family run business and I love that. They showed up on time 6am and didn't leave until 8:30 that night. They were back the next day at 8 am and left at 1:30 pm. Everything went according to plan. They were pleasant, professional and worked really hard. It was really hot that day, but they kept working. They didn't even take breaks. My windows look awesome and it really changes the look of my house. I originally called them for a new back door and two storm doors. The father does the estimates. While here we talked about replacing the windows but I figured it would cost too much, was I ever surprised. They replaced 10 windows and it was only 4700.00. 3 of the windows were special order because of the shape. I would hire them again. I have been giving out their business cards. I've had several people in my neighborhood ask about them. I hope they get some business from them Awesome group to work with.

The crew was on time and on a mission. They were there from morning to night and worked very hard without a break or lunch. My tenant offered them a bite to eat. But they politely declined and kept working. She is impressed.

Removal and install of windows was done in one day. Tom also suggested replacing three window sills at his cost. Tom and his assistant did a good job. He did have to come back and do some minor adjustments involved with the install. My suggestion to Tom would to possibly slow down a little and make sure he goes over all details with the homeowner before finishing the job. I would use Southern Pride Openings for window replacement in the future and recommend them to others...

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tom to anyone looking for new windows. The price was unbeatable. He is honest and straightforward about pricing and hard working. He is also a pleasure to deal with- very responsive and easy to get hold of. He was also very, very clean. I expected my house to be covered with dust but didn't really have any issues. We came in well within budget and the new windows are really beautiful.

Tom Harold and his help, Justin were both very professional and conscientious. While they arrived a little late they went to work immediately. While removing the back door they uncovered an active termite colony working on the frame. He called his wife and dispatched her to a hardware store to pick up the necessary items to terminate the termites and replace the damaged wood in the area. They stayed late and finished both doors as well as changing the hardware on the garage door. The job was done beautifully. These guys are master craftsmen, real pros. I couldn't be happier with the doors and the service. I highly recommend them.

Very knowledgable and helpful. Patient while I made up my mind. I got a new front door with a glass storm door. He was helpful making selection. Had samples and pictures of other work he had done. Had different manufactures to select from. Arrived as scheduled and completed installation in the amount of time estimated. Personable gentleman felt comfortable working with. The door was great so I asked him back to install 7 windows. Very happy with them. Really do reduce heat coming in even in direct sunlight just like he demoed. They cleaned up before they left. I plan to have them back to replace the rest of my old windows.
