Description of Work: We have frequent leaks from two hot water heaters located in an inconvenient upstairs closet. The circulation pump developed its second leak. This time it was suggested we disconnect the circulation pump and simply run the water longer to get it hot. This is what we are doing.

Description of Work: They were almost an hour late showing up, they attempted to "root out" my sewage system just behind the kitchen sink and failed then claimed that there were major sewage system/construction problems that were keep them from clearing it out and left. Two days later, the property landlord/owner sent a plumber of their choice that had no problem at all totally clearing out the entire sewage system within half hour or less. I called and complained about the service but since I could not provide a receipt for the plumber sent by the landlord/owner, they refused to refund my money.

 + -1 moreThe job went extremely well. They were so nice when we called in the middle of the night. They were very prompt. They told me who to contact to have it inspected. Everyone I talked with was very nice whether on the phone or in person.
Description of Work: They came out at 3 AM to figure out what the problem was and told us what would need to be done and gave a detailed estimate. They came back at 9 AM with a new water heater to install.

 + -1 moreThey responded quickly to my call and the work was done more quickly than I expected as well. The problem that I have with this company is that I feel like I was taken advantage of on the pricing. I originally called them because they advertise a free estimate, however when Brian got there he said he couldn't give me an estimate without charging a $141.75 diagnostic fee. He said this because he would need to "excavate" part of the garden to make sure of the extent of the damage before he could give me a final estimate. And that the diagnostic fee would be applied to the cost of the repairs. I reluctantly agreed because I wasn't home and my mother was there by herself. Once he completed the "excavation" he gave us an estimate of $617. Since I was already $141.00 into it, I didn't see any point in telling him to leave so I could call a different plumber.
Description of Work: The main water line coming into the house from the street was cracked and leaking in our yard. The crack in the pipe was visible from the valve access cover in the garden, however Brian needed to dig out a small section of the garden area to gain better access to replace the pipe. He replaced the pipe but couldn't fill in the hole and turn the water back on because the "glue needed to dry" so I had to do that when I got home. For the price I paid, I would have expected the job to be completed. He dug up the dirt, he should have come back to fill it in. He was at my house around 3 hours and replaced a 1 foot piece of PVC pipe.

Description of Work: This company came out to look at the toilet we thought needed fixed. It didn't end up needing anything. The second time they came out they unclogged a drain in the kitchen.

 + -1 moreThe house was still under warranty and they were supposed to do a simple job and they couldn t even get it right. They came and started drilling in my floor for hot and cold water lines and the hot lines were never approved so when I told them I never even said anything about hot water lines they stopped drilling but the warranty would not cover fixing the floor they messed up. The job was not done right and I have pipes sticking out of the floor instead of in the wall where they are supposed to be. The work is horrible and it barely passed inspection.
Description of Work: Rescue Rooter replaced the cold water line inside of my house.

 + -1 moreTHE PLUMBER, BRIAN, WAS A HARD WORKER, AND VERY POLITE. I THOUGHT THEY WERE A LITTLE BIT EXPENSIVE, BUT CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF WORK INVOLVED, MAYBE NOT. HE WASNT PUSHY ABOUT MAKING A DECISION TO REPLACE THE PIPE, AND OFFERED OTHER, CHEAPER SOLUTIONS. I DECIDED TO GO WITH COMPLETE REPLACEMENT SO I WOULDNT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYMORE WATER LEAKS. BIGGEST COMPLAINT WAS THE FIRST DAY, THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE BETWEEN 10:00 AM AND 12:00 PM, BUT HE DIDNT SHOW UP UNTIL 1:00 PM. THEN WHEN HE DID SHOW UP HE TOLD ME HE WASNT THE PERSON TO GO UNDERNEATH HOUSES. WHEN I MADE THE APPOINTMENT, I TOLD THEM IT WAS A LEAK UNDERNEATH THE HOUSE SO THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE SENT THIS FIRST GUY. SO THEN I HAD TO WAIT AROUND FOR A COUPLE OF MORE HOURS BEFORE BRIAN SHOWED UP. BY THAT TIME IT WAS TOO LATE TO START ON THE WORK SO HE HAD TO COME BACK THE NEXT DAY BUT, HE DIDNT GET THERE ON TIME THE NEXT DAY EITHER.
Description of Work: I HAD A LEAK UNDERNEATH A PIER AND BEAM HOUSE WHICH WAS BUILT IN THE 1940S. THE HOUSE HAD ANOTHER LEAK A FEW MONTHS PREVIOUSLY. THE AGE OF THE PIPE, AND THE FACT THAT IS WAS BURIED GALVANIZED STEEL HAD CAUSED THE PIPE TO CORRODE, AND WAS BEGINNING TO LEAK. THE PLUMBER SAID HE COULD FIX IT BUT RECOMMENDED REPLACING ALL THE PIPE BECAUSE WE WOULD CONTINUE TO SEE LEAKS IN THE FUTURE, AND IT WOULD PROBABLY BE CHEAPER IN THE LONG RUN. SO ALL THE PIPE FROM THE METER INTO ALL THE WATER FIXTURES INSIDE THE HOUSE WAS REPLACED, AS WELL AS SHUT-OFF VALVES AT EACH POINT OF USAGE. THE PIPE WAS REPLACED WITH COPPER, AND WAS HUNG UNDERNEATH THE FLOORING, AND WAS INSULATED. AFTER HE FINISHED THE WORK THERE WAS A LEAK ON THE CITY SIDE OF THE METER. THE CITY LOOKED AT IT AND SAID IT WAS ON THE PRIVATE SIDE OF THE METER (IT LOOKED LIKE THE CITY SIDE TO ME). TO BRIANS CREDIT, HE CAME BACK AND REPLACED THE PIPE BETWEEN THE METER AND THE VALVE TO STOP THE LEAK EVEN THOUGH THE CITY SHOULD HAVE DONE IT.

I CONTACTED THE CITY TO ASK IF, INDEED, AN INSPECTION WAS REQUIRED. THE CITY CONFIRMED THAT RESCUE ROOTER WOULD NEED TO PULL A PERMIT. ON THE DAY THE JOB WAS TO BE DONE, THE REPAIR PERSON SHOWED UP: (1) WITHOUT HAVING PULLED A PERMIT AND (2) JACKED UP THE COST OF THE REPAIR SIGNIFICANTLY. I TOLD THE REPAIR PERSON TO LEAVE, AND HE DID.
