+ -1 moreInstead of using a similar wood (oak) Andy used pine. He also did not make clear that he would not stain or paint it. I had another person (wood craftsman) match it the best he could. It was difficult because of the wood being pine. ( if not pine some wood of different grain than oak.). When he took our $100.00 and something he did mention that he had to buy a new router bit. He could have turned the job down. Instead we feel it was a substandard job that just rates ok. C IF I HAVE mistaken Andy for another handyman, please let me know.***********

+ -1 moreI think I called them to do something with a ceiling fan. The guy showed up hours late, knew NOTHING about ceiling fans, did something electrical and set off my security alarm and couldn't get it turned off and ended up cutting the wires to the security system and I screamed and yelled at him to get out of my house and had to threaten him with calling the police to get rid of him. He literally ran out of my house. I had to pay for the security company to come out and re-wire my alarm system. Andy's had the nerve to send me a bill and I told them what they could do with their bill. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
Description of Work: I can't believe they would use my name! I "used" them about ten or so years ago and literally ran the so-called repair person out of my house and will never ever call them again!

+ -1 moreThe person who came to do the work was great. The person doing the scheduling and answering the phones is so rude and has zero customer service skills. He books the technicians too close together to complete appts (i understand they are on commission) so the tech had to come back to finish. Therefore, I had to miss work 2 days, not one.

+ -1 moreI've used him in the past. They're usually very quick if you have an emergency. I called Thursday afternoon and they were there Monday morning which worked out fine for us because it was just a small leak. They're really friendly, easy to work with and reasonable priced. I haven't had any issues at all.

+ -1 moreI'm sorry, but I'm writing this about six months after the service. So I can't remember the details. I remember thinking to myself, "Oh, these guys are great. I should write up a review for Angie's List." But that didn't happen in a timely fashion, and so all I can say is that I feel very happy about our interactions with them and the work that they did was excellent.
Description of Work: A bunch of minor things, including handing painting on brick wall handing some clay artwork on high wall replacing front door locks and nobs and a small handful of other things.

+ 1 moreThey do excellent service but they are a little pricey. I feel like the quality of their work justified the price. They finished within schedule, cut the wood up, stacked it and then put it back where the trash men would pick it up.

+ 0 moreThey were very unprofessional, the electrician smelled of alcohol. This made me uncomfortable and I made sure my husband watched everything he did. Even when I called them to discuss the issues with the breaker and tech smelling of alcohol, they didn't even bother to call me back. They stated they guarantee their work for one year, but they are the only ones allowed to service any issue. If we were to contact our home warranty company and request that an issue be looked at again, they would have to send out Andy On Call, or else the guarantee would be voided.
Description of Work: They came out to work on some plumbing and electrical issues. They were sent by our home warranty company. The plumber was here for about 10 minutes. The electrician said he was going to replace our breaker box, and go from 30 to 40 amp because the A/C kept tripping the breaker. He said he switched it out, but has still tripped the breaker on more than one occasion.

+ -1 moreThere was no response to my request. I ended up hiring a great local plumber. Maybe they were having trouble with their website or there was a communication problem. Either way, they lost my business.
Description of Work: Submitted a request for a free estimate through the Angie's List link to Andy On Call's website. Detailing that I needed three lavatory faucets installed, I also mentioned that I was an Angie's List member and that I had a ValPak coupon for a few bucks off services. I liked that they charged by the job, not by the hour.

+ 1 moreEverything went wells so far. We'll see about the tile guy on Monday. On time, courteous, friendly, helpful. I would use Handy Andy in Plano, TX again.
Description of Work: I had an issue with the shower in a bathroom. I needed the copper pipe for the spount sweated off and a new one in stalled to accept a new chrome spout, and then I needed at least 6 porcelain tiles replaced in the wall. The first workman to arrive (on time) was not qualified to do plumbing AND tilework and he freely admitted that, but he called the main office to reschedule a plumber person and a tile person. The plumber person arrived soon after with his young apprentice and got to work. He successfully removed the old spout pipe and installed the new one and even installed the new chrome spout I had already purchased. He told me the brand name of the tile in my 30 year old bathroom but unfortunately I neglected to write the brand name down to be able to try and buy exact replacements. The tile guy is scheduled to come Monday morning. I have already purchased a case of closely matching tile from my local big box home repair store. The total bill for replacing the spout was $150 which frankly I thought was a iittle high, but I agreed because I had a $25 off coupon which the man readily accepted. He also charged 3% extra because I paid with AMEX, which I thought was a little chicken shirt. The other repairman I called on was for looking at my old Kitchenaid dishwasher (original to the house) that suddentl did not drain. The man checked the drain line that empties into the garbage disposal & routed it out. Drains like a champ now & he showed me what to do if the problem happened again. Cost $60 which seems to be fair.

We scheduled an appointment for 2 days later, but they called back after having a cancelation and he got there that afternoon! The electrician called to update me during the work (I was not at home, my son was) and all work was done as directed. Excellent fast service.
Description of Work: Replacement of spa light along with repair of mounting of that light, fix motion sensor light and replace light faulty light switch.

They sent someone with years of experience in maintenance who immediately realized I had a roofing problem. He was very professional, courteous and personable. As soon as he left, someone from the office called to make an appropriate referral. They did not charge me anything.
