Description of Work: This individual was highly punctual and professional. However, he indicated he would be unavailable to take measurements for an awning/pergola on the visit; that he needed more time and would like to come back to do it. Now I'm a pretty flexible guy and it sounds like Affordable Shade has excellent reviews, but if I'm going to clear my schedule Saturday morning for a contractor to bid a job why not just do it then?

Description of Work: The entire experience with Affordable Shade was exceptional, from the first consultation to the final walk-through. Kevin Martin was our project manager and he was able to give us a complete printed estimate before he left our house that first day. They even threw in several extra services at no charge! Not only was their estimate cheaper than others we had obtained, but it included so much more detailed work to ensure windstorm protection since we live 2 miles from Galveston Bay. Once their crew began work, they worked nonstop from 7:30 am til 5, 6, or 7 each evening. The job did take a bit longer than expected but that was because of the different city inspectors' issues. The workers were very professional and very good about closing the gate so our dogs wouldn't get out. They always left the work area clean and put all their tools snd supplies away every day. Our new patio is beautiful and very sturdy. It is exactly what we wanted. We highly recommend Affordable Shade!

Not the most inexpensive estimate I received, but they where the only ones I felt like actually knew what they were doing. They knew exactly what needed to happen to have my addition covered by Texas Windstorm Policy.
Description of Work: Expanded patio slab to 16'x20' and covered with combination of pitched, shingled roof and shade arbor.

They kept me informed during all the stages. They worked with me extensively on my choices. I had a tough time making up my mind regarding the colors. They went out of their way to make sure they got me what I wanted. They did a great job. They were not the cheapest, but they were definitely professional. I didn?t have a lot of time to get quotes. I will use them again in the future.

They were very professional and left me with a brochure of they services. I would definately use them if I proceed with the build.

We wanted a screened-in porch. They could don?t do that; they only did roofed porches. We appreciated them for being honest about the fact that screens were not their specialty. So, we used another company for the screen. We will definitely use this company in the future.

+ 1 moreWe bought a new home in December 2008. The patio area wasn't large enough and didn't block the sun, so we had a larger cement patio added to our current 8 x 14 slab. Then we had an insulated metal patio cover added to give us more shade. We had several bids and chose Affordable Shade Patio Covers based on the pictures on their website and their past customers. We felt like they had lots of experience. They were not the least expensive company we called out for an estimate, but they had a BBB listing and the 2 customers we called were very pleased with their work. The entire project went well. They were clean, polite and finished on time. Their workmanship is great. Everything looks wonderful. We feel like we made the right choice with this company and will have them build us a covered carport next.
