Scott Blaylock's company (Stone Scapes Outdoor Living-formerly known as or linked to Jerry's Landscape) on Home Advisor.com. He came out to give us a plan and bid on landscape services, which he provided the plans to us for no fee. We hired him on 2/26/19 and paid him 50% of the total amount (which was $26,000) with a 2 week anticipated start date. This was suppose to be an 8 day project and 3 months later he was not even 50% complete on the project. During this time we tried to be patient with him, understanding he was challenged with having enough crew to complete the work. However, he kept making promises and more excuses as to why no work was being completed. He asked us for more money multiple times even though he wasn't doing any work and we refused each time. The day he took the plans from us and didn't return them unless we gave him money, is the day we knew he was not going to complete the project. Since we canceled our agreement with him, we have had to hire other contractors to re-do work that he completed and caused drainage issues in multiple areas of our yard. Not to mention the exorbitant amount of time and work it cost us to correct his work and get the project completed, which we are still working on.

work not performed -Blaylock was given $3000 deposit in October 2016 and I have not seen him since. He does not respond to my phone calls, emails or letters. I understand charges have been filed against him for incidences similar to mine.BEWARE - he is a smooth con man..

Accepted a bid with Jerry's Landscape on 10-24-16 for back patio cover to be installed the week of November 14, 2016. Scott Blaylock, who represented himself as Sales Manager for the above company, presented a professional image and gave a reasonable estimate for the job. He said he would need an $1800.00 deposit. He was given a check for this amount which he cashed the same day. Blaylock has not been seen since and repeated calls to Blaylock and text messages to Blaylock have not been returned. It is obvious he kept the $1800.00 and does not plan to do the work or refund the money.. This company has run large bi-weekly ads in the Saturday Star Telegram for years so BEWARE!

Jerry's Landscape did no work even though I gave them $500. They did good work for me 6 years ago but that was when the father, Jerry Blaylock, was still alive and running the company. I don't know if Scott Blaylock (the son) is actually doing work or just scamming previous customers out of money. DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY MONEY BEFORE THE WORK IS DONE!

Again, love the result and want to give other readers a little peace of mind. I read some bad reviews and was apprehensive at first. However, once the project got going I had no reservations. They did an excellent job. They do ask for money up front, which we gave, for deposit and materials. At any time during the project I could easily communicate via text and got answers to questions, etc... The project got started a little later and took longer than expected due to weather, but they didn't rush quality once they got started. I would definitely use them again.

At the appraisal on April 4th they required a good faith deposit of $3000.00 which we paid and were told we would be scheduled for the end of May. The total estimate was $6500.00 but we never have seen anything out of this company near our property. The returned $1500 in late July but they have ignored all requests for the remainder owed. This company is obviously struggling and any work that requires capital is probably going to remain undone and un-refunded. This company openly commits fraud.

This firm advertises free estimates and Scott Blaylock arrived as promised on April 6, 2016 to go over our project and provide the estimate. That process seemed very professional and we agreed to pay the required 50% down to secure the agreement. We were told that the estimated start time would be the end of May and would take two days to complete. From that time on, we never received one proactive call from the company. May came and went and we were told they would start in mid-June, then the end of June, then before the Fourth of July weekend. There were many unanswered calls, broken promises to get back to us and frustration in between. As the full heat of summer approached, we finally requested that the project be cancelled and our deposit to be returned. Many phone calls later, we received a check for half of our deposit and a promise for the rest by the end of the week. As of today, we are still out $1,500 and our calls go unanswered and unreturned. Many lessons learned!

They put in austin stone front in back and landscaping. Too many plants were put in not taking into consideration how large thy would become. 6 months later mortar on stone buckled and cracked. I nicely called for a minor repair in a few spots and owner became belligerent, i was shocked. After 2 months of calling, his son called me apologized and repair was made inadequately. I decided i was done at that point and moved on. Several years later... Its all being torn out and redone. Thy overplanted to jack up bill. 4k down the drain.if you want your worked warrantied for real, look elsewhere.

Jerry followed up when he was still living. I had trouble with his supervisors. During the period of time, I had 4 supervisors and I had problems. Some of them were family members. He, himself, was excellent. He corrected situations immediately. His wife is still running the business. I've had problems with some of the lighting and they have followed up right away. There was one bad supervisor and he fired him so he took care of the problem. They will still come out and replace shrubs that die and they are still working on my lighting. They stand up to who they are.

The work was performed in a timely manner. The problem came in the heat of the summer when plants started to wilt and die, when we called for warranty service we were told that some plants never should have been planted in full sun and we have since learned that another plant was never intended to be planted in full sun.
Jerry tries to do a good job but not knowing what plants need to go in sun or shade leads me to believe that they should have a better knowledge of Texas plants.

Results are absolutely excellent. We feel that we have added a new outdoor room to our home. Excellent design and execution. Superior clean up. Everything on time and as promised.

Russ Blaylock came out to take a look at our sad front and back yard. We had attempted to do some type of landscaping in the past, but having no experience with what plants will grow in our area, didn't have much luck keeping things green - especially in the horrible drought conditions we'd been having. Also, the shrubs that the original homebuilder had placed had grown much too large and close to the home. Russ came up with a great plan for both the front and back. His crew came out and, within a week, we now have a beautiful stone edging in the front with lots of beautiful evergreen shrubs. In the back, he had additional stone edging installed, with more shrubbery. He also installed a beautiful huge flagstone patio - I'm absolutely thrilled with the results. Also, since the landscaping didn't look so hot next to our almost totally dead front grass, he placed all new St. Augustine sod. We now have the most gorgeous yard on the street. Can't wait to enjoy the new fire table we placed on the flagstone patio once the weather turns cooler. Also, can't wait to see the blooms on the shrubs come springtime. Bring on the butterflies!
