 + -1 moreMatt was very responsive and courteous when we called. He came right out to our home although it was getting later in the afternoon the day before the July 4 holiday. On top of that, it was pouring buckets outside. He explained the price ahead of time and again when he was at the house. He also *cheerfully* honored the Angie's List 5% off coupon that we had printed. When he presented the invoice, he explained clearly which charges were applied and where the 5% discount was taken off. The dog must have realized what was going on because he asked to go out the moment the lock was repaired. What a relief - in more ways than one - to be able to open the door and let him go outside! I would call this company again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: After a contractor replaced our back door, the deadbolt was jammed. He insisted the lock was "just old" and would not fix it. We couldn't unlock the door manually or with a key. This was a lot of fun at 4 in the morning when our dog desperately needed to go out. What could impress your neighbors more than seeing you stumble out the front door sporting bed-head & pj's and padding around the driveway with your confused dog who usually goes out the back door? Equally impressive - seeing you hunched over man's best friend, dragging him by his collar back to the front door on the return trip because he thinks you're taking him for a ride in the car. In a serious emergency, we would have been locked inside the house where the back door was concerned. We decided to let a locksmith take a look at it instead of attempting to replace our allegedly "old" lock ourselves. Matt, from B & B Locksmiths, took apart the whole mechanism and discovered a two-fold problem with the contractor's work that was causing the lock to jam. By realigning the strike plate and removing part of a metal strip in the door frame, he was able to fix the problem without replacing the lock. Problem solved. Normalcy and safety restored.

 + -1 moreBrian, the locksmith, came earlier than expected, which was welcomed. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and did a little extra work in matching both the front and back door locks. He was courteous and efficient. I have had no problems with either lock. I will call upon them again if the need arises.

 + -1 moreWe didn't realize that we had bought a different brand of hardware for the front door than for the rest of the hosue. So the keys could not be changed to match. The tech offered to change out the deadbolt so that we could match the keys, but we opted to just leave everything as is. I expected to still have to pay the service fee, but they didn't charge us a thing! Even though they had to come out to the house and spend time on us. I will definitely use this company in the future. They were very professional, early to the appointment and just great overall.
Description of Work: We recently bought new hardware for our front door. We wanted the keys changed to match the locks on the rest on the house.

 + -1 moreMy wife lost her set of keys. Because they were possibly in the hands of someone unknown, we decided to re-key our locks for the house. This was not an emergency, so when we called on Tuesday afternoon, we were told that a locksmith would get with us the next day. That fit my schedule fine. The next morning the locksmith assigned contacted me to let me know that he would be here in about a half hour. He showed up when he said. He found out the scope of the project and quickly got to work. The locks and keys were ready a little later. I found B&B to be very responsive and very professional. I would use them again anytime that we need a locksmith.
Description of Work: Re-keyed two double-sided deadbolts and one regular deadbolt in garage (five cylinders) plus five additional keys.

 + 0 moreMatt arrived promptly at the appointment time. Very little instruction was necessary and Matt completed the job in several hours. I did not even have to mention that the rear doors to the house required adjusting to close properly. A total of eight extra keys were provided free-of-charge.
Description of Work: New front door, rear door and garage door hardware, including deadbolt locks were installed. Rear door and rear storm door were adjusted to close properly. All door locks were keyed so one key fits all.

 + -1 moreAfter going to another locksmith who offered no help, I went to B&B. If we couldn't get our Dexter bolt lock fixed, we were going to have replace both the front and back door locks and drill out the holes to fit the new locks. The doors are hollow metal steel, so we would had to have a locksmith come out to do the work. Not only did they repair the lock, but they showed me how to reassemble it in the door and told me what to do with the door so the lock wouldn't break again.
Description of Work: They repaired a old Dexter bolt lock.

 + -1 moreThey said they'd be over within an hour & they were. The service person was extremely knowledgeable & nice. He had to really work to break the lock & release it, & patiently proceeded. He advised me that he could just replace the inner lock with a new one, without replacing the actual doorknob. He advised me that a new door knob would have entailed a new key & that it would cost me an additional $20 to do so. The price he charged was payment of the service call plus fixing the lock. I had him just replace the lock. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: The door handle on my back patio door was stuck in the "locked" position & I could not open the door. The repairman broke the actual lock, releasing it from the door, replaced it, & made sure it & the key worked.
