Quite smoothly with few bumps.
Description of Work: We had a flood in the kitchen. They handled all the details start to finish. The flood went into the family room, living room and dining room. From removing the water then carpet to furniture removal, storage and return to tile installation, painting and baseboard replacement, they handled it all.

Description of Work: Dry Force came into our home and dried up water from a busted pipe they did a good job with that end of the service and our insurance co. paid them directly but when they asked us if they could do the carpet repairs and installation ,sheet rock repair and the molding we said yes because we were happy with the first work they did. They rescheduled and came back to do a estimate for the repairs and when the young came out he made a estimate for the work and said that I had to pay him for my deductable then and there and when I said that I haven't even heard from my insurance adjuster yet approving all these repairs and that I was uncomfortable giving him money without hearing from the adjuster and would he fax or call the estimate over to him he said No that he has done all this work on the estimate and I had to pay him $250.00 right then for him to contact the insurance adjuster with this estimate and assured me that this was on the up and up and they can't do all this work coming out and doing a estimate without getting paid something so I felt pressured to give him a check. Then he informed me that when they start the work they wanted 60% down and the rest when completed I felt very uncomfortable when he left. My husband and I talked it over and decided that this was not the company for us it seemed all about the money so I called to tell them I was not going to use them and a young man called and after listening to a long speech on how they conduct business and they spend lot of time doing estimates and the money was justified he did offer my $250.00 back to me and I did get it back. We had three different carpet people come out to give us estimates and not one charged for the trip and we had two furniture people come out as well and people todo the sheet rock repair and not once were we asked to pay them for coming and not one said we had to pay 60 % down for them to get started. Our home is back in order and we are very happy with the people we did us.

Response from Dry Force
This will be a factual response and the members can decide for themselves. In this situation I feel like defending this rating is important! Dry Force did not finish the work November 9th 2011 as stated. We were hired November 10th 2010. Not sure why you would post a review 14 months later? The cost of the job was not 6000.00. This was a insurance claim and the insurance company paid you 4800.00 for the home to be repaired. After it was all said and done Dry Force accepted 2800.00 as payment for 3800.00 worth of work, you kept the balance. At Dry Force we pride ourselves on our workmanship and professionalism. As a customer please look into us and our history. We are a great company with a great reputation. This posting is difficult for me as I personally tried everything to make this customer happy. In the end we had to lose money and walk away from the job. My name is Matt Sands and I am the General Manager and take great pride in the company I represent. Please feel free to contact me directly @ 972-399-0001 with any questions.

They worked with my very well. They handle information with the insurance company. They stayed in touch with me. They were extremely understanding because the insurance company was giving me checks and that's what I was paying them with. They helped a lot with the insurance company and negotiated with the insurance company. It was a good experience with Dry Force. There were some scheduling issues but overall they did very well.

I had a plumbing leak in my foundation. The plumber recommended Dry Force and said they come within one hour. I agreed to used them. The plumber even called the company for me. They did arrive quickly and were able to start immediately. They set up multiple fans, dryers, and a unit that cleaned up the air in the room. (I had my foundation excavated and there was concrete dust all over the room. They did a great job and came back daily to check the progress. The technicians were courteous, friendly, and professional.

It went well, they were prompt, professional, explained what was being done and why. We would use them again, but hope we don't have to, having a flood in our living and dining areas was awful. They were reassuring that it could be set right, and they were correct. After it dried, we now have a new floor put in, repairs are done, and it looks better than before. We have had no smell of mold, and no residual damp problems, they took care of that thoroughly.

The drying went fine but doubt that it would take three full days to dry out the small amount of water that had leaked.
Description of Work: Had water damage to wood floor and dry wall around kitchen sink and cabinet. Dry force tore up kick plate and moulding around cabinet and put three fans and a dehumidifier in the kitchen for three days at a cost of $1250.00. There are marks on the floor where the equipment was placed and spots where I assume the mold spray leaked. The technician kept asking about insurance and telling me the wood floor for the whole downstairs would have to be replaced. Not true. I have not and will not recommend their service.

I had water damage from A/C drain backup. Plumber fixed the problem and recommended DryForce. This was the first time in my life dealing with water damage and I did not know what to expect or how much time I could spend researching companies. I was worried about mold buildup and I have an infant child. The person sent was very professional and performed the service well. DryForce did want to know if insurance was going to handle the claim. I submitted to insurance after DryForce was onsite. After reviewing insurance policy, my deductible was higher than the quoted price. I did not know what services should be included in water damage cleanup. After having more time to research, I found that other companies put the carpet back to the condition it would have been before the water damage for the price I paid if not a little lower. I am now researching and getting quotes for carpet repair. I gave a 'D' on price and 'C' on quality because after further research the price was high and carpet not returned to condition before water damage which it appears other companies would have done.

Water had leaked between the wall in the utility room and the bedroom closet from a condensation line leading down from the AC in the attic. Metro Flow recommended Dry Force, and called them to come give us an estimate. The Dry Force person made it the same day, but hours after the estimated time promised. The technician inspected the problem in less than ten minutes, and said Dry Force would put in three fans, a heater, and spray some anti-microbial on the walls. The process would take three days. When I asked for a written estimate, the tech refused, saying that they used to do this, but lost money doing it. So they wouldn't give me a written estimate. Verbally, the man quoted me a price of $850.00 to put in three fans, a heater, and spray. They would use our power, of course. Nuts! We refused their service. Any company that won't put an estimate in writing is not worth my time. And the price verbally quoted is way out of line, in my opinion. If you more money than you know what to do with, use them. If you don't, then go somewhere else.

Response from Dry Force
Sir I think a "D" grade is extremely harsh based on the fact that we came out to your home for free and you never intended to hire us in the first place. According to my technician reports the water damage at you home was caused by poor plumbing work and you just wanted us to come out for FREE and leave a estimate so you could turn it in to the plumber for reimbursement. Dry Force does put all pricing in writing if we are hired to do the work. My technicians give a verbal price based on a free evaluation and if we are hired we put the verbal price in writing. Because the severity of water damage can change by the hour and a written estimate would be void within hours we do not leave written estimates. Dry Force always gives free evaluations and verbal prices and if hired we do put the price in writing.

I had the same experience as a previous report. Ben Franklin plumber recommended this company and in fact called them for me. I was some what overwhelmed with the flood in my house. SO, sure, they showed up within the hour and started the work. I took 5 days to try. That's 5 days I had to arrange to be at home or have someone here to let them in. My doubts begain with my insurance company and the contractors for the repairs. The contractor felt like the job should have cost around $1500.00. Dry force never provided my a true price. They knew the insurance company was involved. The first guy stated he had spoken to my insurance company. I asked him " you already talked to the insurance company?' "yes". My insurance has no record of a conversation with them. The work they did was good and they explain everything to me. Just seemed like a big insurance scam.

I had a leak from plumbing in my central AC in the attic that leaked all the way to the ground directly below. The attic boards, insulation, interior walls & trim below were all affected. The damage was isolated to a small area in the attic & the laundry rm. Although the leak wasn't extensive, an A rated plumber I found on here on Angie's List, recommended I get Dry Force out ASAP. The plumber made the call & 1.5 hrs later the on call guy showed up. This was after hrs & the Dry Force guy was very friendly & professional even though I had pulled him out of his home. After a thorough assessment including testing for moisture all over the problem area, it was recommended that I needed 6 air movers (1 per affected wall) & 2 dehumidifiers. With it being late at night & the kids were already asleep; we started with 1 air mover & 1 dehumidifier which could be enclosed in the laundry rm to minimize noise. The charging policy was somewhat vague from the start. I was told after much prodding that on average an air mover was $30/day & the "dehumes" were $150/day. There was no mention of fees, emergency response charges, etc. The recommended job duration would be 3-5 days & the final price would vary based on whether or not I used insurance. Basically they will gouge insurance with the maximum amt. possible but if you pay out of pocket they give you a "cash cap" figure which in my case was $1600. This seemed incredibly high to me but having never gone through this before I had no basis for comparison. The next day this # dropped to $1400 & they wanted 1/2 up front so I wrote a check for $700. The next day they came in the morning & set up the remaining gear. I let it run for 24 hrs & felt that the area had been satisfactorily dried. I called Sat. morning & told them I wanted the gear to be picked up. I would have to sign a waiver because I was ending the job early & they would not be held responsible due to incomplete drying. Fine. When the guy that picked up the equipment (SUN.) finally came, he did more checks & determined that the area had dried well except for 1 very small part above the door frame. He promised to be fair with the billing & that most of the $700 is eaten the 1st day with fees & such so a refund would be unlikely. This was an after-hrs emergency call after all. I called insurance to see what a claim would do & when the adjuster contacted Dry Force they sent an invoice for over $1000! This is for 34 hrs total RENTAL, the majority of which was only 24 hrs. She commented on how exorbitant their prices were. I assume this is the "gouge" price, however. It should be noted that once insurance is engaged the cash cap is now null. Overall they did good work & were very thorough but the pricing leaves much to be desired. I could have almost purchased the equipment for these prices. Do yourself a favor & check out other websites or the like first & don't take a recommendation from a plumber, even an Angie s List A-rated, highly trusted plumber!
