They refused to help me unless I agreed to pay for all the extra services That I wasn't interested in. All I wanted was someone to cut out the wet carpet pad, extract the carpets, and disinfect everything. I offered to pay them very well. The technician agreed that it would only take an hour or so, but his supervisor would not let him do the work unless I spent $1500 for fans and dehumidifiers This was a waste of both our time. I just need help cleaning up the mess

Response from Dry Force
The fact that Dry Force was trying to sell extras is not true. Water Damage is what it is there is nothing to upsell. Dry Force follow's the IICRC industry standards and this customer was asking us to perform work that against is against the rules. This customer even offered my certified technician cash to do the work incorrectly on the side and not tell the office. I called this customer and explained why we could not do the work incorrectly to which he responded "I was just mad that I was up to 5am doing the work myself"

Dry Force is good at water removal, but not at repairing and restoring damage. They do their own water removal and are very responsive and professional. They do not, however, do the repair and restoration of damage. They contract this work out and are not able to control and coordinate all of the contractors involved in the large number of jobs that they typically are conducting on any given day. They cannot stand behind this phase of the work, because the work is not being done by Dry Force employees.

This company is a total scam! We moved into our new house 3 weeks ago and unfortunately had a water leak in the slab. My plumber recommend I call them to ask them to come and change the padding because the carpet had gotten wet. The first guy that came out recommended that I dry out all of the walls and quoted me $900 - $1,000 even though we told him that we were probably going to change out the Sheetrock. He left me with a "complimentary" commercial fan to use for 24 hours to dry the carpet. The next day, two other guys showed up to pick up the fan. One guy was worse than a used car salesman...trying to sell me on drying out the walls again and overnight the price to do so had gone up by $400!! Thankfully, my husband came home and distracted the salesman because the other guy who was with him had enough integrity to tell me that I really didn't need to do what he was trying to sell me on and that he couldn't stand it when people try to sell you something you don't need!

Response from Dry Force
I would like to point a few things out to Angies list readers. I did follow up with this customer and she stated that she had a great experience with all of our staff except one(1). The complaint she had about the one employee was a legitimate complaint that the technician was to pushy and to aggressive. I take every complaint very seriously and have addressed that with the employee. We went to this customers home two (2) times at no charge to evaluate the situation and see how we could help. I truly believe "F" for price is not fair considering we didn't do any work to compare the value vs price. "F" for quality is not justified because no services were performed to judge from. We did in fact give a free quote and left when asked with absolutely no charge. Dry Force gives quotes free of charge based on an industry standard pricing structure. Dry Force will do a FREE no obligation evaluation of any water damage and give you a price. Dry Force has been in business for 6 years and services over 4500 paying customers every year and gives an additional 5000 free no obligation quotes to potential customers every year.

It wasn't a horrible experience, the guys were a little anxious to do suggest services I should do whether necessary or not, at times almost boarder line pushy. Their quotes were all over the place. Overall, I suppose you could do much worse, but after all said and done, they did get the job done.

[member name removed], I appreciate you taking the time to post a review about Dry Force. I am very glad the work we did was good quality and we were professional. At Dry Force we understand that during a water damage situation things are hectic and I apologize for not being clear about our pricing. Dry Force does offer upfront pricing or we can bill your insurance company directly. We value your business and work hard to please our customers

We got up one Sunday to find drops of water leaking from the ceiling in our family room. I go up to the bathroom and find a teaspoon of water below the toilet tank. I turn off the water, call the plumber and he says the toilet valve was cracked and replaces the same. He then recommends getting the moisture penetration checked out and recommended Dry Force and said they would give a free estimate. I call Dry Force and they send Joe Rodriguez within the hour. He goes around with the moisture meter and says that the ceiling has to be cut open and the subfloor dried and if it is not done, the subfloor may rot and one day the toilet will fall on our head. With sure dire predictions, we decide to go ahead and get the floor dried and he tells us that insurance will take care of everything. We call Liberty Mutual and file a claim and he takes photographs. People come over from Dry Force everyday to measure the drying progress and on the 4th day take away the equipment. Joe tells us that the subfloor will have to be replaced because it is not drying. We asked the reconstruction department of Dry Force to give us an estimate. Their estimator comes by and takes measurements and tells us insurance will take care of it. However, Liberty Mutual, our insurance company and Dry Force could not come to an agreement and Dry Force refunded our deductible, since their quote was coming up to be more than 200 dollars than what Liberty Mutual was willing to pay. This process took 2 to 3 weeks to get done. With the reconstruction department, there was a communication gap. I would not get updates as often as I would like and I kept asking about the subfloor replacement and looks like there was a communication gap between those that handled the drying and the reconstruction department. I appreciate that my deductible was refunded though. As for the drying, I found an error in the invoice for drying. They had added another dryer on the second day but charged for one day extra on the invoice. I think their bill was for around $2500 but insurance brought it down to around $1500. My overall impression was that their Drying department is better than the reconstruction/insurance handling department. The drying department came on time, took readings with their meters, set up the fans, removed the tiles and got the subfloor drying. Everyone was polite. Sometimes, their schedules slipped by a couple of hours and I had to miss out on classes in school that day. However, I was informed about it at least some minutes before they were to arrive but not enough notice for me to have gone to school earlier. The only thing I did not like was that their specialist Joe Rodriguez told us the subfloor had to be replaced and scared us. The reconstruction department did not send someone to evaluate later on if it really needed to be replaced. It led to quite some dissatisfaction at the point in time. Later on the contractor sent by Liberty Mutual took a look at the subfloor and told us it did not need to be replaced. I would have appreciated if I knew in advance for the drying process how much it cost.

The overall experience was pleasant.
Description of Work: Dry Force was contacted to give an estimate for drying after a clean water leak occurred on the first floor affecting some carpeted area and some wood laminate area. They arrived promptly and brought out their impressive gadgetry to measure the extent of the damage. The technician seemed very experienced and professionally explained all that needed to be done to get the house back in shape. However, the estimate that I got after the technician phoned in the damage analysis to headquarters was about twice as much as what i eventually ended up paying to a competitor who did an excellent job drying the property.

Mr [member name removed], I am sorry we could not preform the work for you. I am glad you were able to get the work done and you are satisfied with their work. Our pricing structure at Dry Force is based on industry standard pricing that most Restoration companies use. The reason the Specialist called the office was to get approval for the price he quoted you and to make sure it was within the industry standard pricing. Dry Force offers high quality customer service and professional drying services by certified water removal specialist through the IICRC.

They did a beautiful job. My insurance covered the services that were performed by this company, and they worked with me very well for pricing. They took an entire half of a wall out and they pulled up the tile from the shower floor and repaired it all. They put all new tile in, at least as much as the insurance would pay for - which ended up being almost half of the shower as well as the shower floor. The tiles matched and everything looks very nice.

They came right away, when called by the plumber. The were very professional and helpful in calling my insurance. They were patient with me, didn't make me feel rush to make a decision and they explained everything to me. Once I gave the ok, they had their machines there to dry up the water. So the clean up went smooth far the most part. It's when it came to putting things back together is where things kinda fell apart. This crew wasn't quite as professional, and forthcoming with information and explaination. It did not get started as soon as I wanted it too. This whole thing started before Thanksgiving and didn't get finish until after Christmas. So I wasn't too happy about that. But over all I'm satified.

Dry Force was able to repond to our telephone call for help within a few hours. The technician spent many hours determining the extent of the flood damage, removing ruined carpet padding, puching holes in baseboard of walls that were water saturated, and setting up industial strength blowers and dryers in the 4 flooded areas of our house. For the next three days a technician came by to check on progress and to relocate the equipment as needed as the drying proceeded. After three days the carpets and walls were dry and the tech removed the equipment. Each Dry Force tech that came to our house was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional in how he conducted himself.
Description of Work: The discharge line from AC unit in hall closet broke and flooded three rooms and hallway. I Levy and Sons plumbing and airconditioning our to fix the broken line. The tech recommended Dry Force to use to dry out the flooded carpet and walls. A Dry Force rep came out a few hours after I called and worked late into the night to set up industrial blowers and dryers in each flooded area He pulled up the sooked carpet pad in flooded areas. He also used a high tech device to measure the amout of water that had been absorbed into walls. He punched holes in baseboards where walls were saturated to speed up the drying. The representative was thorough and professional. He answered all of our questions and explained in detail what Dry Force would do to dry out the flooring and walls. The blowers and dryers stayed on 24 hours a day for three days before the walls and floors were dry. Each day a Dry Force representative would come to our house to check on the equipment and test for the amount of remaining moisture in the walls and flooring. All of the Dry Force employees who we dealt with were excellent. We were very pleased with the service we received. The industrial blowers and dryers were very noisy so sleeping at night was difficult but that is to be expected since they had to use poerful equipment to dry the walls and floors in a timely manner. Their equipment dried the flooded area before any mold developed. Their services were expensive. The bill was several thousand dollars. Fortunately, since our home insurance covered this type of problem we paid Dry Force our $500 deductible and our insurance company paid the rest. We do not know whether their prices are competitive since we did not get quotes from other companies. In selecting Dry Force, we focused on finding a company who could immediately start drying out the flood and a company that had a good reputation. Dry Force met our criteria and we were very pleased with their work. Years ago we hired a different company to provide emergency assistance to dry a flooded room. They were expensive also but did a very poor job. So we are aware that the cost to deal with water flooding in your home is going to be high, and it is important to find a good company who will do the job properly rather than a company who may be cheaper but who does not provide good service. So in summary, while Dry Force service is expensive, you get what you pay for and the quality of Dry Force service is excellent. We recommend this company.

It was the best outcome to a bad situation one could expect. See story above.
Description of Work: In July of this year we discovered a water leak in the kitchen of our 6 year old house. The leak was undetected for months because it was seeping under the hard wood floor cut around the plumbing. The water had traveled throughout most of the downstairs, ruining the wood floors. Our plumber (Benjamin Franklin) refers Dry Force for water mitigation, and they were here immediately to assess the extent of moisture behind walls and cabinets and to begin drying out the house. The construction department offered a bid to do the restoration work. Their prices were higher than what our insurance allowed for each item, but Dry Force was willing to work with our insurance allowance. The scope of work required demolition and replacement of most of our floors, and demolition and rebuild most of the kitchen because water had seeped under the hard woods that the island and kitchen cabinets were mounted on. Because of moisture behind the walls, there was much sheetrock and baseboard replacement. It took over a month to get the insurance paperwork, etc. In place. Once Dry Force began the work, they finished in about a month. They would have finished sooner, but we had a delay when they discovered the water had seeped further than we thought and had to file a suppliment to our insurance claim. Dry Force was right there with our claims adjuster, making sure everyone was in agreement over the work scope. This situation was very upsetting and overwhelming, but Dry Force (Chris Doyle particularly) was so helpful guiding us through the steps, explaining how the insurance process works on a large claim. They didn't try to tell us what we wanted to hear, but explained in a frank, professional, patient way the situation we were in. The Dry Force supervisor brought all the subcontractors involved to meet with us and go over the scope. Once the work began, I always had a heads up about the schedule, and any changes to the schedule. I never had to wonder when someone would be working. When the work was completed, Dry Force inspected the work and caught many "spots" we missed and had things touched up or redone. We are very pleased with the subs Dry Force uses. Our new floors are more pleasing to us than our original floors, and Gus the carpenter/painter did an amazing job restoring our custom cabinets and kitchen island to their original condition. This has been the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. Thank you, Chris and company, for taking such good care of us and our home!

I have never had anyone respond as quickly as they did. We had some plumbing work done and discovered water under our carpet, and the plumber recommend them. They where at our home within an hour of calling them. They pulled back the carpet and treated the slab to prevent mold. They laid the carpet back down and brought in a dehumidifier and fans. Within 4 days everything was dried out. They came out daily to check on things and always called ahead of time to check if we were home and let us know they were on the way. They made things very easy and they were very professional. If anything like this happens again, I know exactly who to call.

DO NOT HIRE THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!! I hired Dry Force for restoration after a plumbing mishap in my bathroom. Based on there performance during clean up and rating with the BBB I felt it a good bet. However, I found that there prices are high and a good BBB rating means NOTHING! The process to grieve a situation is expensive and extremely time consuming. I also discovered that Dry Force does NOT have a good reputation in the industry and are NOT bonded which I now know is important. Dry Force does NOT do there own work for restoration. I REPEAT...DRY FORCE DOES NOT DO THERE OWN WORK FOR RESTORATION! They hire cheap labor who's only interest is GET YOUR MONEY and finish the job as soon as possible. This poor excuse for a company did SO MANY THINGS WRONG, I don't think I'd be able to keep your attention. So LET ME SAY THIS...it should have been an easy job, that didn't end until December but started in September for restoration. I gave them a second chance to fix all there BAD WORK and they just made things worse...MUCH WORSE! Examples: New rug (which took 2 tries to get right) that now has visible seems in 2 rooms, wrong kind of paint in bath which peeled badly, cheap brushes that left paint brush debris everywhere, looks like a 5 year did the job, damage to property from moving furniture, I HAD TO DO MUCH OF THE LABOR (above and beyond what's required), PROVIDE MATERIALS and EQUIPMENT!!! This isn't the HALF of it! I'm now left with THOUSAND$ in damage...FROM-DRY-FORCE!!!!!!! This waist of time company LIES, BULLIES, does NOT use the products promised!!!It's my understanding that I can only write 1 review a year on a company. SO...Dry Force??? BRING IT!!! Respond anyway you wish! Tell the people how you tried to make things right, how you tried to make this customer happy :-( I will then amend my review, which I'm allowed to do...AND I will then POST PICTURES OF YOUR SO CALLED WORK! I look forward to hearing what Dry Force has to say! Reply to Dry Force's Response: The Arbitrator based his ruling on a contract technicality rather then follow the guidelines set forth by the BBB! The "Rules of Arbitration" state the arbitrator,"IS NOT BOUND TO APPLY LEGAL PRINCIPLES in reaching what the arbitrator considers to be a fair resolution of the dispute." This was why I had agreed to this and not small claims. He found that it would be UNFAIR for Dry Force to TRY A THIRD TIME because I made final payment and deducted $300 for my labor, equipment and materials. I did this to BE DONE with Dry Force and before getting an estimate for THERE damage! Dry Force cashed that check immediately and WITHOUT question! The CHEAP LABOR HIRED BY Dry Force that came out a second time to address the MASSIVE amount of initial BAD WORK did so only after I insisted for months!!! Dry Force does NOT respond to my Angies list review other then state what happened at the BBB, but their statement about the BBB ruling is not acurate. NOTICE: Dry Force DOES NOT address the workers they hire, the damage they left or that they are NOT bonded! They do NOT address there reputation within the industry or even there bad ratings with other customers, in regard to restoration, with Angies list! YOUR TURN DRY FORCE!!! I can do this as long as you can!!!!!

Response from Dry Force
The BBB found in favor of Dry Force at a 3rd party arbitration with this customer. The BBB found Dry Force acted in good faith, was reasonable and made every effort to resolve the situation including repainting the bathroom and installing all new carpet in the areas of concern at no cost to the customer. Because the BBB did not find in favor of the customer she is using Angie's list as a way to hurt Dry Force's reputation.

our plumber Mark Ondras recommended this company to evaluate the water damage of our hot water leak on our pier and beam home. dry force found our beams and under floor were dripping wet, but we did not have any standing water. they set up a machine called "dragon", a blower, 2 dehumidifiers and 8 air movers. even though the temperature got extreme within the house I am grateful they saved us from what could have been sever damage. they are direct billing the insurance company.
Description of Work: evaluated the problem, wet beams and under floor. brought in 12 different pieces of equipment to dry our beams and under floor of our pier and beam home. their equipment was at our house for 4 days.
