Excellent service, they arrived on time and friendly.

Over a period of two weeks, called 3 times. Each time they said they would have someone call me. They had my information each time I called back, but never a returned call. Apparently, they don't need any business....at least not mine. I'll not be calling them again, and certainly won't use them if they do call.

I needed some simple landscaping and got referred to Bonick Landscaping. I sent them an e-mail with a detailed explanation of what I wanted, and we set up a time to meet at my house. When we met, I walked them through my property and showed them everything that I wanted. Later that day, they sent me a proposed agreement and wanted a $2,000 deposit for design services. I did not understand why I needed to pay for design services (seeing that I only needed basic services and told them exactly what I needed) and did not want to pay a deposit until I got an estimate of what they expected the services to cost. They then made excuses for why they could not even give me a general estimate, claiming that they did not have enough information (even though I told them exactly what I wanted), and indicated that they wanted the $2,000 payment before going any further. Their refusal to give any estimate until receiving a $2,000 deposit seemed really shady, but I was really turned off by the lack of professionalism by the representative that I dealt with. When I asked to give me a general estimate before I committed to anything, he became snotty and defensive, and when I asked him why he wasted my time meeting with him (when we could have spent that time going through all of the information that he needed to put together an estimate), he claimed that he thought that it was merely a "get to know you" meeting and that our meeting was not for actually going through my landscaping needs.

Our pool was built in 2007 and is a key part of a fantastic back yard. As indicated, we hired Bonick to provide basic weekly pool service at a price that we felt was high, but we wanted to work with a team that was familiar with our pool and the equipment. We have an in-ground cleaner and this has worked quite well for us since the pool was built. Recently, we began to notice dirt in the pool and the in-ground cleaner was not getting it out. This went on for weeks and the weekly service technician failed to show any concern or awareness that there might be a larger problem. Only after extensive questioning from us did any action take place... they called out a leak detection company to check the system for leaks. $675 later, we had no solution... we began to tear up our deck only to find water accumulating underneath (still not sure this had anything to do with dirt in the pool). After insisting we have the service manager come out and meet with us, the Bonick team concluded that we were over-watering our flower beds and seemed confident they had addressed our issues. We pressed further on how the cleaner wasn't working and there had been nothing done to address the problem. Another repair to "fix" the filter yielded no better result and we lost more than a few valuable swim days over the summer while waiting for a solution. We decided Bonick was not going to find a solution and invited them to not come back. When the service manager hinted that they needed more time to find a solution, I asked what they would do differently if I gave them another chance... his answer was basically that they would do exactly what they had already done. Following our termination of services with Bonick, I asked another service company to come out and give us an assessment. Within hours, we had a pretty detailed plan that helped us to find and isolate the leak (YES, THE POOL HAD A LEAK!). Our take was that they really did not know what to do and they offered no solution in bringing in other experts who might help them find and resolve the problem. I heard several sets of directions from the service manager to the technician that I do not believe were carried out. I don't understand why the service manager defers to the technician and cannot recognize an unhappy customer. He actually seemed totally OK with my reasoning that they should go... no attempt to do better, no attempt to save us as a customer. All in all, we spent over $1,000 with Bonick and feel we got little/no value.

The service was excellent. While the price for the work is a little higher than most the quality and service is worth it. The owner came out to help the customer and is very laid back and will listen to the customer. The fact that he listens makes him capable of giving the customer exactly what they want. The design work they do is one of a kind.
